Ori opened his eyes back in his bedroom in the meditating position. He stood and left. Scissors was leaning on the doorframe while waiting for Ori to leave.
"Hello, my King. You were gone for quite a while there. I was starting to wonder where you had gone, so I waited. Why were you meditating, may I ask?"
"I was trying to unlock my powers but..." He looked at his hands. "Unfortunetly, I feel no different."
"It will happen, in time." Scissors got off the wall. "And I have somewhere to be."
"Oh? And where might you be heading off to?"
A male with short brown curls and freckles dotting his cheeks walked into view. He was wearing the Royal Guard's armor but without the helmet. There was a sword at his right side.
"Hello there, my new King." He bowed. "My name is Bud."
"I had met him earlier in the day. He is also one of the Royal Guards for this Kingdom, but not in your Legion."
"Ah, well, try to not get hurt. I still need you as a bodyguard, Scissors."
Scissors bowed. "I understand."
Scissors led Bud away, taking one last glance at Ori before falling out of view.
Ori entered Oribia's room. "Oribia? Is everything alright?"
"Dad's gone...he left."
"Only for the time being. He'll return when my trial is finished."
Oribia sniffed and rubbed her eyes. "Well, I want him to come back."
"Oribia, I have already said that he'll come back when I'm finished."
"Well, maybe I want you to be finished now!" Oribia turned to face her brother. "I don't want him to leave! What if he gets killed while out and about?!"
"Oribia, you need to trust him. He'll be fin-"
"That's what Dad said about our mother! And look at us now..."
"Sister, what has gotten into you? You should listen to yourself!" Ori snapped back. "Are you assuming our father cannot protect himself? Is that what it is? Do you not trust me and my Legion to protect you from people who wish to do us harm? I'm going to do all I can to protect us and raise a perfect Kindom!"
"How can you do that if you don't have any powers?!" She stopped. She realized she said the wrong thing at the wrong time. "I-I'm sor-"
"Sister...why are you like this?"
"Ori, what do you mean?"
"You are a menace! You just get in my way! Everybody loves perfect little Oribia! You want to know what they think of me?! They think I'm pathetic! Small and weak! They think I'm unworthy of being King! I'm going to prove them wrong. I'll show them all I'm not what they think." Oribia felt a chill travel through her spine when Ori, although still mad, was speaking calmly. "Father trusted me, at least. And I don't need him once I show him too."
Oribia noticed the bookself rattling slightly. "Ori...calm down please..."
"Calm down? But Oribia, I am calm. Don't you see? Everybody just assumes things about to me. I am not upet, Oribia. I just want you to see that I'm not pathetic!"
The bookself crashed over. Ori whipped his head to find where the noise had come from. He was able to snap out of his angered state, at least.
"...I..." Ori rubbed the bridge of his nose. "This isn't finished." He walked out of the room.
