As usual, not Nintendo or Rick Riordan
As parts of this chapter are based, admittedly kind of heavily on specific cutscenes from Age of Calamity, dialogue that is either taken from these scenes or are very similar to the actual dialogue are in italics just so I don't get in trouble...hopefully.
Most of these characters, bar an extremely select few, are not mine. All actions by them are merely my own imaginations of them in the scenario that is this series. PLEASE LEAVE YOUR REVIEWS!
Chapter Eighteen
Air and Lightning
Third Person Zelda POV
Zelda pumped her arms and legs as hard as she could, running with everything she had. As she ran, she noticed the monsters also charging in, trying to intercept her. She dodged around as many of them as possible, thankful for her agility and ease of evading the hideous creatures. However, she was forced to stop when she suddenly heard galloping hooves. She turned her head to the side to see a silver lynel racing towards her, moving on its hands and feet. Taking a deep breath, she readied her bow and prepared to fire a light arrow directly into the monster's skull. The beast was just fifteen feet away when she fired, the arrow glowing like a star as it streaked to the lynel, it slammed into the monster's head, stopping it in its tracks. The lynel reared back, roaring in agony, then it locked its gaze on her. Its face twisted into a sneer of absolute hatred, she swallowed back a shudder. She'd only made it angry, now it was out for vengeance.
The lynel pulled out its own bow, but Zelda was faster. She drew the string back again, holding it for as long as possible, the arrow's glow increasing as it charged up. She released it at the last second, the arrow shot directly into the lynel's open mouth, digging into the soft tissue. Its eyes bulged out in surprise, then the arrow came out the back of its head and the lynel dropped to the ground, still staring in astonishment as it died.
Turning back toward Naboris she raced to the ramp and charged into the divine beast. She skidded to a stop at the sight that greeted her, there was Cedra holding her ground against Thunderblight, who was lunging forward towards her. Cedra looked like she was in grave danger, raising her shield but too slowly Zelda somehow just knew. If she didn't do something and quick, Thunderblight would strike Cedra down. It all happened so fast, Zelda raised the bow of light, and fired. The arrow flew true, moving almost as fast as light itself, striking the blight right in the eye.
It screeched, reeling backward in pain. Zelda took in its appearance, it looked the same as it had when Link faced it in an age past, except perhaps a little greener maybe. The blight now locked onto her, it raised its hooked sword and charged forward so fast she couldn't believe her own eyes. It moved so fast it was almost upon her in the time it took her to blink. She was going to die right here right now! She was going to be killed! However, the fatal blow never came, just as Zelda closed her eyes there was a loud clang and a shout.
"YOU SHALL NOT LAY A FINGER ON MY LITTLE BIRD!" Came a familiar voice.
Snapping open her eyes again she saw…it was impossible! Standing in front of her, facing away from her, was a Gerudo warrior. But this wasn't just any Gerudo warrior, no this Gerudo was wreathed in glowing greenish flames and was herself luminescent in the same color.
"Urbosa?!" She exclaimed.
Urbosa turned her head to Zelda as Thunderblight backed off about forty feet. Cedra was staring at Urbosa in complete amazement, her jaw slack.
"It's nice to see you again, my little bird." She said warmly. "But the reunion can wait, we have a beast to destroy!" She finished turning back to the blight.
"Yes, lady Urbosa!" Cedra spoke up coming to stand with them, her Gerudo shield and moonlight scimitar ready.
The blight dove toward them, attempting to slash at Zelda, but was blocked by Cedra's shield. The blight shrieked in rage and raced forward again, proceeding to hammer its blade against the shield in what appeared to be a frenzied rage. That was strange, it seemed like it had completely focused on Zelda and was targeting her specifically now. Zelda fired another light arrow at the thing, but the thing moved like lightning and dodged the arrow. It zipped around behind her and almost managed to strike her with its blade before Urbosa intervened, slashing at it with her scimitar of the seven and bashing its head with her daybreaker shield. Before the blight could do anything else at all, Urbosa snapped her fingers and the air was split with a loud crash of thunder as a bolt of lightning struck the monster, knocking it on its back.
Zelda leaped into the air, drew back the string of her bow, and fired an arrow directly into the body of the blight. It squealed and burst into smoke.
"Thank you!" Cedra exclaimed to Zelda with a nod before turning to the specter of the old Gerudo champion.
"Lady Urbosa! It is an honor to fight by your side!" Cedra spoke to Urbosa.
"The honor is mine Cedra, I see your dedication in your heart. You are a worthy chief of the Gerudo, I am glad to know that my people have you to guide them in these dark times." Urbosa replies.
"What should we do next Lady Urbosa?" Cedra asked, still in awe of the spirit of Urbosa before them.
"I will stay here just in case we need to use Naboris, you two go save Nala." She responded with a nod.
With that Zelda and Cedra raced out of Naboris and made their way to Medoh. Upon reaching the area of the divine beast where its main control unit was they found their Rito champion struggling against the huge beast that was Windblight. Zelda was surprised at the appearance of this beast, it hadn't looked like this when her husband faced it in their last life. Last time it only had one cannon, leaving its other hand exposed. But now it had two cannons, effectively doubling its rate of fire. Cedra and Zelda stared in shock as the blight fired repeatedly at the rapidly flying figure of Nala.
This was bad, Nala was flying with everything she had, only just managing to stay ahead of the cannon blasts. She was in a terrible predicament, at the speed she was moving, she couldn't draw her bow to fight back. Zelda drew back the string of her bow and fired at Windblight. The arrow stabbed into the beast, the monster flinched and then froze before whipping around to face her. It trained both of its cannons upon her, Nala drew her bow and prepared to fire to distract it again, but someone else fired first. Arrows suddenly began raining upon the blight from somewhere out of sight in the clouds above, then each of the arrows exploded. 'Bomb arrows!' Zelda thought in awe. Windblight was shredded by the explosions.
Everyone looked up to see where the attack had come from, and they all saw a Rito warrior plunging from the clouds not that far up above them. However, this Rito warrior wasn't one they had ever seen before. No, this Rito was glowing green and was wreathed in flames. Zelda immediately knew who this was. Only one could have had the skill to have fired that many arrows in such a short period with such accuracy.
"Revali!" Zelda gasped.
"Indeed, Zelda." Revali answered as he landed. He turned to Nala, looked her over for a moment, before saying, "A satisfactory effort I suppose, though you have a long way to come if you want to be equivalent to me."
He turned away then, not noticing how Nala bristled at the former Rito champion's remark. She glanced at Zelda, who just rolled her eyes remembering how prideful this particular Rito was.
"I didn't know the champion could be so…" Nala broke off when she was interrupted by Cedra, "Save it for later Nala, we should make sure we're out of danger first."
"A tactical decision, Cedra. Nala, are you observing this? You could learn from your comrade." Revali said without turning around.
Nala scowled but then shook her head and seemed to try to swallow down her frustration.
"What do we do now?" She asked.
"We should withdraw for now, plan our next move." Zelda replied.

Third Person Omniscient
About two dozen reddish orbs hovered over the grassy plain, with the malice enshrouded replica of Hyrule Castle in the near distance, all while the setting evening sun illuminated everything in an orange light. Directly below the orbs lay the still forms of two dozen Yiga clan members. Sooga and Master Khoga stood nearby, both in stances that indicated alarm and shock as Astor caused another orb to come out of the chest of the last remaining present Yiga soldier. The soldier flopped back lifelessly after the orb separated.
"What's your game three eyes?!" Khoga demanded. Sooga just grunted slightly as he crouched just a little more, tightening his hold on his twin blades.
"My you really are slow." Astor said, his voice low and unconcerned about what he'd done. He raised his right hand, palm up and clenched it into a fist. The orbs all flew to the device that, as always, hovered over Astor's left hand. The device pulsed out a dome and manifested four entities, namely the now resurrected blights, in the air above and behind Astor as he continued. "Despite our efforts, the enemy has only grown stronger. To succeed, we must adjust our strategy."
He lifted his gaze to look right at them, raising his right hand until his arm was stretched out horizontally in front of him as he spoke. "Finally, the two of you can actually be of some use, for once in your lives!" He exclaimed as he bent his arm back over his left shoulder as though he were about to throw something and then made a throwing motion. A creature was suddenly manifested, a creature that looked like Link, only entirely made of malice.
The thing charged at them, Sooga rushed forward while drawing his twin swords. They made an X in time to block the sword of this illusion of the hero.
"Master Khoga! Quickly make your escape!" Sooga called back to the leader of the Yiga clan behind him as he pushed the malice creature away and began swiping at it with his blades.
Master Khoga nodded and turned around, he took only a single step before he halted at the continued sound of blades clanging together.
He turned around as he spoke, "I can't split! You're my best lackey!" He exclaimed as he clasped his hands together one under the other, with the hand on top pointing the index finger straight up.
Sooga sliced away the malice being and spoke, "In that case, I will protect you! Even if it costs me my life!" He crouched a little in front of his master, readying his swords to attack in defense of his leader, while staring down Astor. The prophet of doom who'd once been considered their ally, but not anymore.
Astor seemed unconcerned about this as he spoke, his right hand raising palm up and curling into a fist as he spoke. "A blood sacrifice for the demon king!" His eyes closed for a moment as his mouth curled into a wide, sinister smile before he continued while opening his eyes again. "Fate gives you this role, and you will play it!" With that he covered his face with that hand and began to chuckle before dropping his hand to his side as he threw his head back and his chuckle turned into a deranged and maniacal laughter while the still inactive blights hung above him.
Frankly, Astor doesn't need my help to portray him as a madman, Age of Calamity did that well enough on its own.
