The Doctor snorted as he heard his granddaughter say something to Ian. His eyes skimmed over the field that they ended up landing in. There was a hospital out in the distance and the smell of apples filled his nose. This must be New Earth. Very far in Ian and Barbras future then. Oh well. Not like he invited them along anyway.

He felt someone poking at his mind. Must be another Time Lord. Or, worse, another him. Just what he needed. He heard a lovely laugh that seemed to float around him. Maybe not another him then. Lovely. He followed the sound as his granddaughter jogged to catch up with him, leaving the two meddling teachers to follow her.

Rose was mid laugh again when they launched her through the void. Damn. Mickey always does that. She ought to learn. She glanced around and reached out with her bond to help locate the Doctor. She could feel him slightly a few yards over the hill. She took off giggling to herself at how easy this launch had been, now all she needed was to get the correct him. It was always up chance with the cannon. She saw an older man stomp up the hill and stare right at her. Interesting, this was the first him. Lovely. Always fun to meet past hims but she was a bit in a hurry this jump since it wasn't the right one again. She started the recharge on the cannon again and walked up to him with her arms out.

"DOCTOR!" Rose called out in a beautiful sounding song.

The Doctor stared right at his bond mate and flushed as she called out his given name. Well that was interesting. He felt her reach out with her bond and tug slightly as his part of the bond fell into place and secured her in his mind. Any future regeneration would feel the time shift and lock into place at the shift. He reached out tentatively and felt love immediately overwhelm him. Quickly pulling back with a slight gasp as she looked pained at the rejection.

"Not rejection, just surprised, love." Ah, that came out much easier then he thought it would.

"It's okay. Future you makes up for it." was her simple reply. She grabbed her vortex manipulator and saw that it was full again for another jump.

"I got to go but I enjoy seeing you again soon!" with that she left in a puff of golden energy.

Well, the Doctor thought, not the best way to meet a future bond mate.
