Chapter 12:
A...Unexpected Guest
In our last chapter, Ladybug and Cat Noir has gotten the Team back together and has told everyone on the Team including Eagle about what has happened to the Guardians of the Miraculous. After that was done, Ladybug and Cat Noir went out to clear their heads. While at the Eiffel Tower they were both were discussing the events of today's meeting when all of a sudden, a raspy voice came out of No-where saying.
"You and your Team aren't ready for what's to come" spooked them out of their loving embrace and into fighting positions and starts looking around for where the voice came from, but couldn't find it anywhere around them, in till Cat Noir looked up and said.
"Uh, M'lady, I think you may want to look up" he said as she did what her partner said and what she saw was someone dress all in black hanging upsidedown like a bat as she couldn't help to feel a little scared about what she is seeing, when all of a sudden the figure drops and opens his cape like a pair of bat wings and lands right in front of them.
"W...Who are you" she said with a little stutter in her voice while in fighting position and the figure then spoke his name.
"Terror Bat" he said to the both of them.
And Now we Return to our rightfully scheduled Fanfiction.
"Terror Bat? That name sounds familiar" Cat Noir said as he begins thinking where he heard the name from when his lady beats him to the punch.
"You mean to tell me that your 'THE' Terror Bat" she said "The Hero of Massachusetts in the Untied States" she finishes off with as he just stands there like a statue waiting for him to say something.
"Heck for all we know you could be a Megakuma sent by the one who has the Butterfly Miraculous now" she said while standing in attack position.
"I can assure you that I'm not a Megakuma" he said "And even if I was one, don't you think it would have been on the News right about now, Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste" he said in which caused Marinette to go all wide eyed and makes Cat Noir go into worry mode.
"H...How do you know who we are" she said to him with a shocked voice.
"If you want me to tell you how I know your identities, then I suggest you come with me to find out" he said as he walked over to the railing and jumped off the platform and headed straight down with Ladybug and Cat Noir in purrsuit and with all of them landing safely on the ground and no one was around the base of the Eiffel Tower when they landed.
"Alright, Now tell us" Ladybug said again.
"In due time Ladybug" he said back to Ladybug as a hand went to his utility belt and they saw him grabbing some kind of device off of it and spoke into it.
"Shields Open" he said.
Meanwhile in a distant alley way sat an armored vehicle just waiting for its master to return or be called upon when needed and all of a sudden, its onboard computer received the command for its shields to be put down and come get him, after it lowers its armored cocoon, its engine roars to life and starts driving to its master's location.
As Ladybug, Cat Noir, and Terror Bat wait, when all of a sudden a black vehicle comes around the corner when Terror Bat just walks right in front of it and speaks into his device again giving it a order.
"Stop" he said into it and the Batmobile just stops like it could stop on a dime if it wanted to and then the canopy opened and Terror Bat said "Get In" to the both of them when Cat Noir said something.
"Whoa" he said "This is a replica of the 1989 Batmobile from the Tim Burton Batman movies" as he got in the car first with Ladybug sitting between his legs and Terror Bat getting in the Driver seat and the canopy closes above them and they charge off to GOD knows where.
"Where are we going" Ladybug said as they were driving through a Dark and abandon road way surrounded by a lot of trees.
"Where do you think we're going Bugaboo...The Batcave" her partner said with a smirk on his face and Ladybug saw it and she thought about it and said to herself 'Of course we are, why did I even bother asking' and then saw the face of her lovable kitty "Your enjoying this, aren't you".
"How could I not M'lady" he said to her "We are in a classic car from a classic movie and I'm guessing that's been decked out with a lot of gadgets to" he said and the only response he gotten was an acceleration jump speeding to our destination.
After about 30mins of driving, they both saw in the Batmobiles windshield a rockface and they both covered their eyes when it actually opened revealing the road entrance into the Batcave.
"That was scary" Ladybug said.
"I'm incline to agree, though I might need a new pair shorts after that experience" her partner said as all 3 of them got out of the Batmobile.
"Watch your step" Terror Bat said as he flipped a switch as all 3 of them walked over to a area where a large computer sat.
"Now are you going to explain how you know our identities?" Ladybug asked when Terror Bat began to speak.
"I know of your identities because I am a Detective and have known about it since the day you 2 first made an appearance when you first fought Stoneheart" he replied when Cat Noir spoke up.
"Wow! Stoneheart!" he said "That takes me back and it is also where I first fell in love with you M'lady" as takes her hand into his as she smiles at him and then snaps back into reality.
"Wait! You... You known who we are for 7 years" she said with a shocked look on her face.
"Even though you were in a different country, It is my job to make sure that you 2 don't pose a threat to any country" he said to her "But before I tell you anymore information about myself, I have some information you would like to know about the attack on the Temple of the Guardians, it is the reason why I brought you 2 here" he said and when both Ladybug and Cat Noir heard this, they both wanted to know more about what happened when Ladybug spoke up.
"Okay, Let's hear what you have to say" she said as he went to the Bat-computer and shows both Ladybug and Cat Noir the images of the ruined Temple and by the looks on their faces shows of both disgust and a little bit of fear.
"How did you get these images?" Ladybug asked.
"I took them a month ago" Terror Bat answered "Before you received the package from your mother a few days ago" he finished off with.
"How? How did you know how I got Su-Han's cell phone?" she said.
"Like I said before, I been keeping a watchful eye on you two and heard some things about your theories that it might be the lost Butterfly Miraculous and come to believe that you maybe right" he said.
"And so that comes back to what I said before...How did you get ahold of these pictures"
"I was in the middle of something that is related to my secret identity, when I received a signal from the Bat-computer and when I saw where the coordinates of where the images came from I immediately left in the Batwing and went to the Temple of the Guardians to do an investigation and discovered things in my findings" Terror Bat said to them.
"And what were those findings?" Ladybug asked. "Because we as you already know and already figured out Who? and What? attacked the Temple of the Guardians" as she paused and continued "Well at least we know What attacked them, but were not really sure on the Who? found the Senti-monster" she finished off with.
"No, your Theory on the Who? is correct Ladybug" Terror Bat said.
"And what makes you say that?" Cat Noir asked.
"Because over the last 3 years, I've received strange reports of people disappearing and reappearing with no memory of how they got to their new location" he said.
"That's nothing new" Ladybug said "Their have been people who just blacking out and going to places and just snapping back into reality and sleepwalkers are the same way, their are even illnesses that do the same thing" she finished off with.
"Not according to these reports from these victims mentioning seeing a strange purplish color insect in the shape of a Butterfly landing on them before they blacked out, sound familiar" he said back
"The Butterfly Miraculous" Cat Noir said with a wide eye expression on his face.
"But!...But we would've heard about new Akumas popping up in Paris and would've taken care of them immediately" Ladybug said.
"Not according to these 2 victims who are from the United States, the states of Texas and California" Terror Bat mentions to the both of them showing the victims images on the Bat-computer's large screen
"Ah say whaty what?" Cat Noir says with a goofy expression on his face.
"And these 2 are from Flordia, Maryland, New York, Montreal in Canada, Athens in Greece" as he shows them more images of Possible Akuma victims "None of them had any memories of what happened to them but all saying they saw a Purplish colored Butterfly landing on them and then waking up somewhere else and they all have been missing for at least a couple of hours to at least 1 day" he said to them.
"But that doesn't make sense" Ladybug said "Why akumatize people from other states and countries?" Ladybug said.
"If I had to guess and I don't make guesses because I'm usually right is that they are practicing with the Butterfly Miraculous's powers in order to control it better and not have a certain Bug and Cat interfering with their plans and when they were ready, they attacked the Temple of the Guardians" Terror Bat said.
"But what I don't get is why attack the Guardians of the Miraculous?" Cat Noir said.
"If I were to say is that they pose the biggest threat" Terror Bat answered.
"But Why? exactly" Ladybug said.
"Think about it, The Guardians are the keepers of the Miraculous and have been for Centuries since their begining and who knows what type of Secrets they might have" he said.
"He makes a good point M'lady" Cat Noir said.
"But all this still doesn't explain who attacked the Temple and how long they been planning this" she said to them when Terror Bat spoke.
"In my investigation of the surrounding area of the temple, I have found the exact position of where the assailant who was controlling the senti-monster was standing" he said as he brought up the image of where the assailant was standing.
"I don't see anything in the image" Cat Noir said as Terror Bat switched to Thermal Imaging on the screen and it showed a residual thermal imprint in the snow and a indent of where the suspect was standing.
"Okay, it just show us where they were exactly standing, but not who they are" Ladybug said.
"Look again Ladybug" Terror Bat said and continued "Look at the indentation, the length and width of the imprint, according to the analysis I made of the length and width of the imprint, I have determined that foot belongs to that of the Female Gender, weighing somewhere between 115 to 125 pounds" he finished off with.
"Okay, I guess that DOES help a little bit more, but it only tells us that we'll be facing off with a female supervillain" she says "But NOT who they are" she finished off with.
"I'll leave figuring out her identity to you and your team and to answer your question about how long these so called disappearances have been happening, its been happening for over the course of 3 years" Terror Bat said to them while facing them when they said in unison "3 YEARS" they said in unison.
"But that would mean whoever this person is found the Miraculous after we defeated Shadow Moth"
"And their is also the fact that you still think of me as a threat Ladybug" as he look towards her".
"I'll admit that the information you provided has been helpful" she says "But that still doesn't change the fact that you know our identities" she finishes off with as Terror Bat gets up from his chair and says "Follow me" and starts walking down the stairs and both of them follow right behind him.
As Terror Bat lead them to a location within the Batcave, but when they reached their destination, it was nothing but a rock wall.
"Okay? Why are we standing in front of a rock wall?" Cat Noir asked when Terror Bat waved his gloved hand over a section of the rock wall and a small hologram deactivated itself showing what appears to be wall scanner and he places his gloved hand onto the scanner's screen and the screen scans his gloved hand as both Ladybug and Cat Noir hear what appears to be latching sound of a large door, but their appears to be no entry way, but then Terror Bat just walked through the rock wall and Ladybug and Cat Noir were shocked by this action and one of them reached out and said.
"A Hologram?" said Cat Noir and the both of them walk through the Hologram rock face and walked into a hidden room.
"Welcome to the Vault Ladybug and Cat Noir" Terror Bat said to the both of them.
"Was that a Hologram?" Ladybug asked.
"No" Terror Bat answered her "Its a Harmonic Resonance Generator, which turns any solid object or wall to the point you can pass right through it like a hologram" he finished up with.
"So what is this place?" Cat Noir asked.
"This is the Vault" he said "A place where I put very special and very dangerous Artifacts in to keep them out of the hands of very dangerous people like your father for example Adrien" he finished off with.
"What makes them so dangerous?" Cat Noir asked him.
"The kind that can either help or...destroy a Miraculous" he answered back
When they heard this, they immediately stepped back.
"Their is no need to worry, these aren't the real artifacts" he said to them "The real ones are back at the main Batcave under more Advance security then this vault, the ones you see in those cases are fakes" he finished off with while they all end up standing in front of a wall column.
"Okkkaay? Why are we standing in front of a wall column?" Cat Noir asked.
"Because out of all of the fake artifacts here" he said "Their is one artifact that is as real as your 9 lives Cat Noir" as he places his gloved hand on the tablet that belongs to one of the fake artifact display cases and it scans his gloved hand and when the scan was done, both Ladybug and Cat Noir both hear latching sounds of locks being opened and the wall column opens to reveal its continents within it and they both look with wide eyes to see what it is but a..."Miracle Box" they said in unison.
