Last time we got to see what Luffy's starting point is at. This chapter is we might will meet some of the crew. Who will be on it and who will not be. Let's find out.
8 years had passed since Luffy had been to this island. He sat with a bottle of sake in his hand taking a swig. "Hey, Sabo. I know, I know. I haven't been around in awhile. My grandpa had pulled me away to try to get over it and not go on a rampage. I have so much to tell you. I had become strong. I hope I will make you proud and don't worry about Ace, he is fine. Last I heard he was with old man Whitebeard. I will watch out for him." He finished as he poured out his remaining bottle of sake on the empty grave.
"Commodore Luffy, where are you? We need to head out." Luffy heard in the distance.
"*Sigh* I guess it is time for me to start doing my duties again. I will be back again. See you later my brother." Luffy said as he got up to walk away.
Foosha village was just starting to get up to it's daily business when they watched a man with white flowing coat with the kanji for "Justice" on the back, stainless white pants, and a red tee shirt walk out of the jungle towards the only local bar that was in the village. On his hip was sword that looked out of place but make no mistake he was deadly with. Upon opening the door, Makino called out, "Sorry we aren't open just yet. If you want to come back in 2 hours we will be."
"Awh man, and here I was coming in to eat some of your delicious cooking again, Makino." Luffy called out.
Turning around Makino immediately recognized the man standing the doorway. "LUFFY! When did you get back?" Makino cried out.
"I just got back last night, I went to visit Sabo before I started my voyage though it may have already started depending on who you ask." Luffy smuggly stated.
"Well, I am happy to see you. Come on let's eat breakfast while you catch me up on what happened." Makino said as she started cooking.
"Well, it is a long story but it is good to see you as well." Luffy said as he sat at the bar.
*Note the last 9 years for Luffy will be explained in their own chapters with different backstories for the people*
"Commodore, where are you?!" Luffy heard a call out again.
"Well, that is my call to head out. It was good to see you again. I will be back hopefully soon." Luffy said as he went to walk out the bar.
"Take care of yourself, Luffy. If it ever becomes to much you are always welcome back here." Makino stated as she watched him wave over his head as he walked away.
"There you are. You know if always disappear like that, Lieutenant Bonney is eventually going to go on a rampage thinking you were captured." Luffy's Captain and second in command stated.
"I am so sure that if that were to happen, you would be able to handle it Law." Luffy smiled at him.
"*sigh* Be that as it may you should have at least told us you were leaving. Where did you go anyways?" Trafalgar D. Water Law or Law as he was called by his best friend had called him.
"Went to see my brother and then some family." Luffy responded calmly as he walked back to the ship.
"Ah, it is that time of year isn't it? I should have known." Law said as he walked next to Luffy.
"Yep, so where is our first stop?" Luffy asked.
"Our first stop is Shells town. We had a report that the captain has been abusing his power." Law stated as they made it to their ship.
The ship was truly a one of a kind ship. Made from the Tree of Adam that was aquired by his grandfather for his ship and made by Water 7s best craftsmen, the Straw's Law was Luffy's gift from Garp when he made Commodore. Currently the crew had only included himself, Law, Bonney, and his own personal shipwright Dojaku.
"LUFFY!" was all he heard before he was tackled by his Lieutenant.
"Hey, Bonney. I thought I heard your movement. I must be getting rusty again." Luffy laughed as his Haki did tell him that she was going to be tackling him, but he let it happen.
"Riiiiiggggghhhhttt. Did you take care of the business you had?" She asked as she let him up.
"Yeah, let's set sail. We have a couple of things to do before we meet up with Smoker and the others." Luffy stated. Yes, he had more friends that he was going to be picking up on the way, however for right now he needed a full crew.
Now, normally Marines are not able to choose his own crew, however most were not a grandchild of 2 vice admirals and nephew of the Fleet admiral. As long as he did what Sengoku told him to and reported in after each visit to the islands of his stops he was free to do as he pleased, within reason of course. Not like he would ever attack citizens. He knew the difference between villians and corrupted vs innocence and peaceful.
"Well, I suppose we should set sail then." Dojaku said as he walked over to move the anchor from it's locked position.
"When are we gonna get some decent food by the way. I am tired of rations." Bonney complained. She was a glutton due to her devil fruit the Age Age fruit.
The fruit literally can become the most deadly fruit in the world in the wrong hands. She had the power to change the age of anyone she touched, from a baby all the way to their deathbed. The issue with it though was the fact that it caused her to have a hyper metabolism. If she and Luffy had a eating contest, they would have eaten an entire island out of food.
"Soon, we are heading to Shells town now. I am sure we will have decent meal soon." Luffy explained.
Next day
Koby was having a horrible time. He had been captured by a pirate crew, all because he wanted to go fishing and got on the wrong boat. That was a year ago, now he was forced to do manuel labor for them and do evil things. He had wanted to be a marine damn it. With a sigh, he had joined the crew on the voyage cruise ship they had attacked. He was forced to roll a barrel of booze onto the boat while Alvida and her crew harrassed the passengers. As he pushed he didn't notice a man land next to him until he grabbed his shoulder. "Excuse me do you happen to see a marine ship around here? I seem to have been knocked away from it." Luffy asked him.
"AAAAAAHHHHHHHH! Where did you come from?" Koby screamed as he looked at the man before him.
"Relax, I am just asking where my ship is. As for where my ship obviously. You look like you have seen a ghost, are you ok?" Luffy asked.
Koby finally looked at the man, the marine office look was obvious but he hadn't seen a ship nearby. Hell the only thing he saw was barrel that was floating in the water next to them in ocean. This was his chance. He could become a marine, but what would happen if they didn't take him because he was forced to work for pirates. What if he was executed for it? "Uhhhh... are you ok? You have been kinda mumbling out loud." Luffy asked again.
"Oh no, my dream... it is over before I even got a chance to ask." Koby looked down and down trotted.
"Relax, if you want to be a marine, it can still happen. You were kidnapped and forced to work. Now explain the situation private." Luffy said signifying that he was pulling rank on the poor kid.
"Sir!" Koby stood in attention, "Ship is currently being attacked by Alvida pirates, Sir. She is the meanest ugliest pirate that sails these seas."
"Hmm, very good. We will have to help these people then." Luffy gave him a toothy grin. "Come on Koby. Let's get this over with."
Koby followed behind the officer, as he walked towards where most of the pirates were threatening the people. At least most of the people, that was. Noticed by Luffy, a certain orange haired woman was robbing the pirates of all the loot on their ship bring it back to a dingy that she had secured. 'Interesting, she seems very capable. If I can talk to her, I would like to see if we work together. She has potential afterall.'
As he thought about it, Luffy walked on to the pirates. Looking around, he noticed most of the men were surrounding a big woman. Maybe big was an understatement. "Koby, is that ugly cow Alvida?" Luffy asked.
"Yes..." Koby replied he knew he would be heard and sure enough all the pirates turned to the voices that just entered the room.
Many were angry, but none more than Alvida. She looked murderous. "What did you just call me? Koby you are betraying me? After all the good I did for you?"
Looking at Luffy, Koby knew he had to take the risk. This was his chance at freedom. "I said that fat whale over there is Alvida, sir."
In an instant Alvida charged them both. She was going to kill the ungrateful brat and this marine who appeared. Just as she was about to bring her mace down onto them, she watched as it shattered before her and her men were cutdown, with the marine standing on the other side of the room sword being placed back into his scabbard.
Koby watched as all of the men fell in a instant dead. Alvida fell down to her knees before falling to the floor a second later with the shocked faces on all the passengers and Koby alike. "Well, that takes care of that. Who is the captain of this ship?" Koby watched as Luffy asked.
The next couple minutes had been a whirlwind for Koby as he just watched as the marine requested a den mushi to contact his ship and headquarters. He had heard as he found out, the man was named Luffy, a commodore. Listening to him get yelled at was hilarious to Koby as Luffy looked like a diciplined puppy from his crews call. Once he had finished with the calls, he talked to the captain a minute before he had turn to Koby. "Now, we are going to sink the ship after we take the remaining supplies from it. Koby, head over to the former pirate ship and help the woman with orange hair fill the dingy with supplies." Luffy commanded him.
"Yes sir!" Koby immediately saluted and went to do what was tasked to do.
Nami was having a such a good day. She had gotten a decent score from the pirates that were attacking the ship she was using as a transport, they were seriously loaded. 4 million beri and a bunch of jewelry and a small treasure chest that was sure to be her big ticket to getting out from under Arlong's rule. All she needed to do was hurry and finish loading the dingy. As she was grabbing the remaining jewelry from Alvida's cabin, she heard some moving of supplies. That was her signal to leave. If she was caught it wouldn't be good. As she walked back onto the deck, she was shocked to see one of the pirates putting supplies onto her dingy. 'Hmm, maybe he wants to escape too.' Nami thought as she watching him load the smaller dingy as much as he could.
"Excuse Mam, I am almost done loading the supplies. We will be ready to leave as soon as the commodore arrives." The man in front of her stated with a salute.
'Weird' she thought. 'Wasn't he a pirate?'
"Commodore? I thought you were trying to escape?" She asked.
"Well, that would have been the case if I didn't take out the pirates." She heard from behind her. "Besides I figured we will need more supplies to get us going."
Turning around, Nami saw a man that blew her away. 'Wow, he is hot!' she thought before she could even stop her train of thoughts. 'No, Nami he is a marine. He will be taking your things.'
"Relax, I am not here for the treasure you are going to steal. In fact, it is technically mine now unless you do a small thing for me." The man across from her.
"Oh, and what would that be?" Nami asked with her defense up.
"Just take us to Shells town and all of it is yours." The man said with a toothy grin on his face.
"Deal!" Nami immediately agreed. It wasn't like she wasn't going to the island next anyways.
"Great! Name's Luffy and this is Koby." The man extended his hand finalizing the deal.
"Nami." As they shook hands.
Soon with Luffy's help they had finished loading and set sail. With all the supplies it was a little crammed in the ship which was a modified fishing boat that the pirates used to scout out victims. As they got a decent distance away, Luffy stood up and pulled his sword out slashing once before returned seated. The next instance Alvida's ship was cut in half and sank under the waves to the shock of Nami and Koby. "Well now that the eye sore is gone, how long until we get to Shells town?" Luffy asked.
Nami quickly got over her shock. Of course this man could do that. She had heard that people in the grand line can do things like that. Hell Arlong had flipped buildings so it made sense they would have to be strong to be a high rank among the marines. "Well, normally it is a 2 day trip but you have me so it we will be there by noon tomorrow." Nami said confidently.
"Really?! That is super impressive. You must be an amazing navigator. Have you ever thought of joining the marines?" Luffy asked.
"Not really. I am wouldn't get paid enough..." Nami said as she shuddered.
"Hmm, well if you change your mind let be the first to request you join my crew." Luffy said.
"Wait, your crew? I thought the marines you had to go through the ranks? That is what mom always said." Nami asked curious on what this man was about.
"Normally yes. However I am a special case." Luffy said with a grin. "I get to decide who sails with me. The only one who can veto it is the fleet admiral but I normally get my way. Well, if we have a day before we get there. I am gonna take a nap. Koby, help Nami with anything she needs."
Nami just watched as this man had who just stated that he knew the fleet admiral of the marines fell asleep. 'Just who and what is he?' Nami thought as he stared at him. 'Maybe he can help us out.'
Later that night
As it slowly become night Luffy had been watching Nami. He knew she was hiding a lot by the tattoo on her shoulder was any indication. Of course he knew Arlong's symbol. Hell, Jinbe had shown it to him when he was told to go to East Blue. Jinbe was upset on what news he was able to get to him. Unfortunately, for him, Luffy knew that his hands were tied. The marines kept the news quiet about what was happening and keeping Jinbe from meeting up with Arlong to prevent him from turning back to piracy.
Watching Nami, he noticed that Koby was out cold. 'Perfect, this is my chance to actually talk.' He thought as he slowly rose up. "So, how long have you been in Arlong's crew?" he asked as he watched her visably flinch.
"What... what makes you think I am part of a pirate crew?" She questioned visibly defensive.
"Well, considering your tattoo is his symbol. Jinbe the warlord had shown me it a long time ago. If you have his tattoo I am assuming he is here in the East Blue." He explained. "But from your reaction I am assuming it isn't what you want. Nami if there is anything I need to know. Please I need to know before I get to where he is. I have been sent here to clean up the area and if you know something i need to know before it becomes a conflict."
Nami looked at him. He had seen the look. The look of desperation and fear. The look of not trusting anyone. "Please... just don't ask about it. Please." She pleaded.
"Nami, I know we just met, but if you need to talk. I will be heading there eventually. If you want a ride I will be there." Luffy left it at that before he moved towards her. "Get some sleep. You set us on course. I will wake you up in the morning."
He watched her just nod as she walked to the corner of the ship curl up and attempt to sleep.
'There is a lot of wrong in this ocean. How could the marines here not let us know what is going on.' He thought as he watched Nami slowly fall into an uncomfortable sleep.
He slowly placed his jacket over her as he watched shiver from an apparent nightmare. He knew some were most likely due to trauma and harsh life he had seen in her eyes. He just hoped that she would open up.
Next Morning
Nami woke up feeling comfortable. She hadn't slept like that since she was back home. Sleeping with her mom and sister had always kept her calm. When she had to be away, she would sometimes take her mom's coat with her. It was an older marine coat and it had always brought her comfort. Nami snuggled closer to the coat.
As she was snuggling in, Luffy was looking out to the sea. Koby was still sleeping, so Luffy decided to get his stretches for the day. He did his katas throughout the day.
Flashback
Luffy was on the training ground of Marineford with Garp. "Come on Luffy. You need to learn this so we can get you stronger." Garp yelled as he watched Luffy mess up again.
"I am trying..." Luffy said as he once again messed up for the fourth time.
It was bad enough that he had only been here for 2 weeks after the loss of Sabo. Now his grandfather was being an even more of a drill sargent than he was normally. At least when they were back on Goa Island he would fight with him or throw him into the jungle to fend for himself. Now he just kept pushing him and wouldn't let him relax. Luffy felt like his arms and legs were screaming at him from the intense continuous workout.
"Hmm..." he heard Garp start. "Well then, Luffy! You are unable to eat meat until you get this particular part correct." Garp grinned.
"Noooooooooooo!" Luffy cried out. He knew Garp was being serious.
"Well, better start working then. Breakfast is in an hour and I am sure you would love to eat nothing but vegetables and fruits." Garp continued to grin.
Flashback end
Luffy shuddered. Most of his training had gone the same way. First he would learn the moves or technique from his grandfather. If he didn't get it down in a week then the punishment would be enforced. He had to admit though, it worked.
Noticing the other 2 had started to stir awake, Luffy finished his exercise before preparing a simple breakfast for him. 'God, I missed regular food.' Luffy thought as he watched Nami wake up.
"Good morning. I hope you slept well." Luffy said to Nami. "Go ahead and eat. I will wake up Koby and we will discuss what the plan is once we get to Shells Town."
Nami just nodded as she saw the small plate of fruits, rations, and dried meats with a drink of water. Only after eating did she realize Luffy did not have his coat on. 'Wow, he is built.' She thought as she struggled to coat that she had on her before realizing she did not have her mother's coat with her.
'Why would he put his coat on me?' Nami thought as she watched him interact with Koby. 'It smells nice though. Pine and oranges.'
"So how long until we get to Shells Town?" Luffy asked, knocking Nami out of her thoughts.
"Hmm, I would say about an hour or 2. You let us sleep longer than I expected." Nami replied.
"Well, I figured you both needed it." he replied earning a nod from her.
"So, what are we gonna do once we get to Shells town?" Koby asked his commander.
"Well, there is 3 things we are gonna have to do. 1 we need inspect the town and the marine station. 2 get rid of any all corruption we find. Finally wait for my crew to show up. Thankfully they should arrive by the end of the day." Luffy explained. "Oh, and if there is a corrupted individual we are authorized to cease any and all assets."
That got a grin from Nami. She hoped that by helping him, he would at least share with her. As if reading her mind Luffy said, "Nami, if you help out, I am willing to give you 50% of it."
Getting beri symbols in her eyes, "You know, if you keep giving me such a good deal, I might just end up falling for you." She teased.
"Hahaha" he laughed and smiled. "Well, that is it for now. We are gonna start our training now, so let's get ready."
Blinking for a minute, "Wait do you mean me as well?" Nami asked.
"Yep, if we are gonna make you a strong marine, then we need to get you through the basics before we actually get on our ship." He said.
"I never agreed to being a marine." She grumbled. Still it couldn't hurt to get some official training to make herself stronger.
2 hours later
Scratch that it did hurt to make herself stronger. They orginially started with some light stretching which seemed fine for her. Then when they started doing the actual katas that he was teaching them, she was shocked as much as Koby was when they saw Luffy do forms that seemed physically impossible. Hell, for how flexible she was she being forced to stretch and bend in ways she thought impossible.
"Alright, that was a good first set of katas, both of you. We will work on your form later as it needs work." She heard him say as they approached the town.
"Wait, what do you mean that was the first set?" Nami asked as she got up off the deck of the ship to help bring it in.
"Well, that was the first of 6 sets to help you learn marine fighting techniques." Luffy explained as if it was easy to do.
"I am sorry I asked." Nami grumbled as they arrived at port.
Soon they were walking into town, Luffy with his coat on his shoulders again with Nami and Koby following slightly behind him. Luffy seemed like he was walking somewhere with a purpose, but everywhere Nami looked people were looking at them with fear and anger. 'Odd' was all she thought as walked with Luffy.
Soon, Luffy turned into a restuarant that looked like it was slightly busy. As soon as they walked in, all talking immediately stopped. Looking at Luffy, Nami noticed that his eyes were covered by his hat. Walking to a table, she watched as a little girl walked over. "We don't want you here." She yelled at them causing the shock of everyone in the restuarant.
Quickly her mother came out the back, "I am so sorry she doesn't mean it. Please anything you want is on the house."
"Relax," Luffy reassured the mother. "Now, what is your name? and what do you mean you don't want me here? I thought I was here to make sure no bad guys hurt you?"
"Yeah right. IF that was the case then why was Zoro captured and tortured for stopping us from getting hurt?" the little girl fought back.
"Hmm, well I just came here so I am not sure. Why don't you explain it to me?" Luffy said as he pulled out money from his pants pocket. "How about this, I will pay for our meal and any information you have, in return I will make sure all the bad men go away and get this Zoro out of trouble."
"Really!?" the little girl grinned. " I guess that would be alright."
"How about we start again. My name is Luffy." He said.
"Rika." the little girl responded.
Nami just watched as Luffy talked to Rika and the rest of the people in the Foo Food as she came to know the place called. She watched as the girl explained how Zoro, or the famous "Pirate Hunter" Roronoa Zoro, had rescued the poor girl and her mother from a vicious dog that was owned by the Marine Captain's son. She even explained he took a deal that if he survived for a month without food or water he would be free and the family wouldn't be punished. Nami just had a bliss of happiness when she watched Luffy tell Rika how he would take care of everything and if she wanted to come with to bring food to Zoro he would personally walk her to him.
"Really!" Rika asked grinning that seemed better then her pout.
"Of course. Nami, Koby. I believe we have found the source of corruption in this area. Koby, I want you to escort Rika here to feed Zoro. Nami, I need you to go in and find any and all information of this corruption as well as steal this Morgan and his son Helmeppo of all their valuables. It is under now under our control." Luffy stated as he got up ready to walk out of the restuarant.
"Yes, Sir!" Koby responded.
Nami didn't respond but hell, if she was getting 50% it was worth it.
As they approached the gate to the base, Luffy immediately noticed 3 things. 1 there was a strong spirit in the courtyard, 2 there was a severe lack of soldiers in the field and gates, and 3 that they were starting to get a shadow from what looked like a statue being raised. "Alright, Nami go and start aquiring everything. Come Koby and Rika, we will rescue our friend." Luffy said in his military voice.
Nami just nodded as she headed inside stealthly. Luffy walked up to the man that was bound to the stock posts. "So, are you Zoro?" Luffy asked.
"Who, is asking? Now get out here. I am busy." Zoro responded.
"But... Zoro sir. We are here to rescue you." Rika said as she came from behind Luffy.
"What are you doing here? If that brat finds you, you will be punished." Zoro said harshly making Rika quake in fear by for Luffy put a hand on her head.
"Relax, she is currently here with me. I am Commodore Monkey D. Luffy. I am here to release you. Rika here has told me of your situation. I will be asking you questions while you ate the food Rika and her mother made for you." Luffy explained as he pulled his swords out cutting the binding is a faster than blink of an eye.
As the blade clicked back into its scabbard the ropes fell to shreds. 'I didn't even see him move.' Zoro thought as he moved his hands to rub his wrists. "Now, relax and eat. I will be back momentarily. I must go see to the corruption that has plagued this town." Luffy said as he jumped instantly from the field to the top of the tower, where a statue was being lifted by multiple men.
"Be careful with my statue. I will kill whoever even gets a scratch on my magnificence." A tall man with an axe replacing his left hand stated.
"Excuse me. Who is the commanding officer here?" Was all the marines heard as they saw a man standing on the statue after they finished placing it.
"Who are you?! Men kill this man. HE is disrespecting me and my greatness." "Axe hand" Morgan ordered.
"Belay that order. As a commodore under direct orders of Vice Admiral Garp and Fleet Admiral Sengoku, I here by take control of this base." Luffy commanded.
Morgan looked as no one was taking his command. 'Traitors.' He thought as he watched the man kick his off his statue smashing it to pieces in front of him.
Enraged, Morgan decided he had enough if these cowards were unable to listen to his orders, he would kill this man then kill them all. He had no use for soldiers that would not follow orders. Charging the straw-hatted man, Morgan raised his axe to cut the man in half. All he heard was the click of a sword behind him before he felt his life blood spill out of him. Unknown to anyone Helmeppo was on his way to father to tell him about a woman being in his room as he saw his father fall. Enraged, he pulled out a gun at the man who just killed his father, but before he could pull the trigger, he heard the man say "Shigan" before he felt something hit him. Before he could understand what happened, he felt himself become cold and it became hard to breathe. 'What... is this...' was his last thought before he too was down in a pool of blood as well.
"Who is the next of command here?" Luffy asked the rest of the men on site.
"Lieutenant Ripper, Sir!" a man came forward watching the man in front of them call out.
"Good Lieutenant, grab me the den den mushi. We will have to call HQ about your promotion." Luffy responded.
"Is... he really dead sir?" a nameless marine asked.
"Indeed, I have found efficient evidence of corruption and B class threat that required my immediate decision." Luffy explained as the soldiers started to cheer. "Oh, there are 3 others on the base that are with me. I will be confiscating the possessions of both the disgrace and his son."
"Yes, SIR!" the marines responded.
Ripper had immediately returned with the den mushi Luffy requested. Grinning Luffy dialed. "Hello, Vice Admiral Garp office. Can I ask who is calling?" They all heard.
"Hey, Mary is grandpa in?" Luffy responded.
"Oh Commodore, of course one moment." Mary responded putting the remaining marines at ease that they did not just commit treason.
"What do you want brat?" They all heard a gruff voice from the other side.
"Reporting in Sir." Luffy said was a smile. "Made it to Shells Town, gramps. Took care of a potential leak from the commanding officer here. Unfortunately lethal force was required to end threat."
"Damn brat. Well, nothing could be done. Is Law there? He could give me more details." Garp called back.
"Unfortunately had lost them during our trip here. I may have gotten lucky though. I found 3 potential members of my crew." Luffy responded. "Also, get a call our to Warlord Jinbe. I will need be taking care of something soon that might have been one of the potential 'code blacks' in the area."
Many did not know what 'code black' was, but one did. Ripper was an officer for the last 2 years. While he did not suspect that he would ever figure out that who the base it was caused by, he knew what was the action taken from finding it out.
"Hmm, very well once you get back to your ship. I will have him call you soon." Garp responded.
"Sounds good. That is all I have." Luffy said. "I will call you soon as I am in Loguetown."
"Take care of yourself brat. I don't like the sound of what is going on over there." Garp said before hanging up.
"Now, Ripper let's head down to meet my men." Luffy said with a smile.
Meanwhile a couple minutes ago
Nami was on her way to commanders room. 'This is way too easy.' She thought as she made her way through the building.
Not even seeing a single person made her move quicker and reach the room. First thing she did was pull all the papers for Luffy. I mean she did say she would. While she was pulling the papers away she saw the handwriting of a certain fishman. This made her blood boil! He was in league with that monster. Quickly she grabbed the papers then going to the vault.
Quickly breaking into the vault had her finding stacks of money. 'How much was he extorting?' She thought as she started to put it in the bag she had brought with her.
She quickly made her way to the next room nearby. First thing she noticed was it was much or decorated than the rest of the rooms. The second thing it was was the worst decorated than anything she had ever seen. It was like a mix between unicorn vomited and a baby was being born. It made Nami have a headache just looking it. She quickly took anything that looked expensive. Seriously who wore such gotty jewelry? Regardless it took Nami a few minutes to clean the room out of valuables including 3 katanas.
As she was heading out of the room, Nami noticed several marines heading her way. Panicking she watched the men walk up to her. Before she could run however, the men stopped and saluted her. "Mam, Commodore Luffy is on his way down." She heard them tell her.
Just then she saw Luffy heading down the stairs. "Ah, Warrant Officer. Good I see you completed your mission. Let's go see the rest."
She waited until he was next to her and started walking with him. "Warrent Officer, huh?" She whispered to him as the rest were out in front of him going out to the town to give the news.
"Yeah, had to make it convincing. Besides that is better than recruit." he whispered back as they walked outside.
"I guess you are right." She sighed as they were walking up to Zoro, Koby, and Rika.
"Did he eat everything?" She heard Luffy ask Rika.
"Mhm, he said it was the most delicious thing he had ever eaten!" Rika said with a bright smile.
"Good, now Zoro." Luffy started, "I am of the understanding that you are a bounty hunter, with this situation here is there any thing we as the Marines do for you?"
"Well, I would like my blades back for a start." He said as he pointed to the katanas that Nami had.
"Done. Anything else?" Luffy asked.
"I am looking for someone. If you would be able to point me in his direct it would be most helpful." Zoro explained.
"Well, depending on who he is I might be able to assist." Luffy gave a smirk.
'Damn his knowing smirk. He knows who he is looking for.' Nami thought as the smirk brought a smile on her own face.
"I am looking for Dracule Mihawk. I wish to challenge and beat him." Zoro said. "It is my dream to become the strongest swordman in the world."
"Ah, a fellow swordman then. I have a proposition for you then." Luffy started to grin like he won the lottery. "How about we duel. If you win I will call Mihawk here to you right now."
This got Zoro a massive smile before he heard, "However if I win, you let me help you train. And you will only be able to fight Mihawk once i decide you are ready to. Do we have a deal?"
Confident in his skill regardless of the skill the man has shown, "Deal."
"Great! Lieutenant, I require you training ground. Also I will need a practice sword." Luffy called out.
"Wait, you are not going to use the sword on your hip?" Zoro got angry at this man going to take it easy on him.
"No, I rather you still be in fighting condition when we leave. That and I rather you not be dead." Luffy explained and he went to grab the sword that Ripper had someone get for him.
Nami looked at Koby, "Do you know how good Luffy is with a sword?"
Koby shook his head before he heard, "Don't worry. Luffy is going to take it easy on him."
They both turned towards the man who had just walked up. He was wearing a white with spots northern-style fur hat. He was wearing a pull over hoodie with the Kanji for Justice on the back. On his side was a katana and on his right hand had the letters of DEATH on his fingers. On his left he had the letters of PEACE on his fingers.
"Who are you?" Nami said on guard.
"Captain Trafalgar Law. I am gonna make the assumption Luffy didn't tell you." the man named Law explained.
"Wait, you know Commodore Luffy?" Koby asked as he got out of his stupor.
"That idiot and I are best friends and he is my commanding officer." Law explained. "Come on it will be interesting to watch this."
Following Law towards the training yard, as they saw Luffy standing in front of Zoro. "Whenever you are ready." Luffy said as he looked at the man across from him without even raising his sword.
'He is mocking me! Well his funeral!' Zoro thought as he rushed the man in front of him.
Luffy watched as the man charged him. 'Good form, unfortunately he is more strength then speed and style unfortunately. Well, time for this to use the move Mihawk did to me as a kid.'
Just as Zoro was about to hit Luffy with his swords, Luffy grabbed the sheath slapping zoro in the forehead with it knocking him off balance. Taking the oppurtunity, Luffy pulled the blade out. Using the flat of the blade, took the legs out from underneath Zoro. Upon falling, Zoro felt a blade at the side of his head.
"I do believe I won." Luffy grinned. "Hmm, your strength is about Warrant Officer Level so I think that is where we will start you."
Zoro looked up. He had lost. It had been a long time since he felt this way. Has he really been beaten so easily. "How?" He said out loud.
"Well, it is what happens when you fight someone stronger. Though I do have to say your angry blinded you somewhat. Though it was bound to happen when I was trained by Red Haired Shanks and Mihawk himself. They tend to show me bad habits of taunting people." Luffy said with a grin.
"What you actually know Mihawk?" Zoro said looking up.
"Yep, Sensei did the same thing i did you the first time I trained with him." Luffy grinned.
"Hey, Luffy." Was all everyone heard before Luffy was hit with a dropkick by a pink haired woman. "How dare you disappear like that?!"
"Sorry Bonney!" Luffy said to the woman. "I will make it up to you by buying food from a good restuarant."
"Hmm, deal!" She said as he pulled him away towards the town.
"Ugh, I guess our money supply is going to be gone again..." Law said with a grumble. "Well, come on. We have to go meet up with our commander."
The 3 watched as Law slowly started to walk towards that town all of them thinking, 'What did I just get myself into?'
