JC silently browsed the various video games on sale, glancing around at the other shoppers, having gotten a text from an unknown number the night before, telling him to be in that particular shopping mall at 11am, and to be there without his sketchbooks or art supplies, this struck him as odd, not many animals of the city knew he was an artist, and even fewer knew his number, he sighed gently and left the game store, approaching the spot where he was supposed to meet this mysterious creature, after about 10 minutes, he sighed gently,
"looks like whoever it was still isn't here, well, no point in staying here any longer" he said,
"apart from missing out on a fun time" JC turned on the spot, smiling gently when he saw Juno, Sheila and Harmony standing there,
"but…..what's all this?" he asked,
"Juno told us that you weren't being very sociable" Sheila explained "so I asked for your number after suggesting that we have a day together, the 4 of us"
"and besides" added Harmony "Juno told us that a particular rabbit has been telling her that you need to be pepped up" JC stepped forward and hugged all 3 of them

"you OK JC? You zoned out for a moment" she stated, he looked at her, glanced back at the crowds of weekend shoppers before looking back at her
"it's nothing" he said "just a feeling about something, but….I don't want to rely on them too much"
"i understand" Juno replied, gently guiding him back to Sheila and Harmony.
Over the next few hours, the 4 of them looked through various stores, ate lunch, tried some sample sweets, and even looked through various clothing stores, JC even admitting that he mainly ever wore either black or white, quoting that he never felt comfortable in other colours in public, so they stopped into a clothing store to try on a few things for fun while also picking out a few things for JC to try and wear, after about 10 fittings, the 3 girls agreed that JC looked fine in just black and/or white, JC, however, bought some camo pattern cargo pants, mentioning how it would help him to blend in, making the girls laugh at the joke, around 2pm, the 4 of them had some shaved ice to relax for a bit,
"today has been one to remember fondly" JC said,

As he arrived, he spotted crudely written poster taped to a wall, he paused to read it,

JC stared at the poster for a while, going back to the name of the poster,
"Legoshi" he muttered, he glanced down at his watch, seeing that it was close to 6pm, he headed up to the rooftop access stairway and listened for a while, hearing Legoshi suggesting that they introduce themselves while the rice cakes cooked, the first to introduce themselves were Raika the sea eagle and Fina the gerbil of room 602, mentioning how Fina has taken Raika in while she worked at a job agency that required him to fly her there, next was Ebisu the albino crow from room 304 who trained himself up greatly to fight against poachers, next was Mugi a shiba in room 202 who models for calendars, then there was Bogue the asian black bear who writes novels under the moniker of being a rabbit, there was Eugnen the yorkshire pig who was a taxidermist, JC silently shuddered at that, hearing Legoshi introduce himself, followed by Sagwan the spotted seal whom JC had seen around, he heard that he was studying on land to translate the books here into the marine language, finally there was Seven, she mentioned that she worked for a sports equipment company, everyone else joking that she was too normal to be around,
"wasn't there meant to be another living here?" Sagwan asked
"i saw them heading out earlier" Seven admitted "guess they're not back yet" JC sighed and slowly pushed the door open,
"a manga artist who was in line for the Beastar title, only for it shatter because of segregation politics" he said, looking at everyone who was eyeing him, except for Legoshi, he guessed that he was trying to figure out who the voice belonged too because it was familiar "name's JC" he added, in a swift movement, Legoshi had pounced on JC in a big hug,
"JC, you're the last being who I expected to be here" he said "man, I'm sorry about what happened, it must've been hard on you"
"it was Legoshi, but I'm moving past all that" he replied, the rest of that evening was everyone socialising with each other, JC felt the happiness he had back at Cherryton slowly returning to him, trying a rice cake, he looked around the skyscrapers of the city, feeling as if this was truly the start of a new positive chapter in his life, but one thing worried him, that odd gazelle that he had passed earlier that day, something was off about him, but he couldn't put a finger on what if could be, he just shook his head, knowing that whatever it was, it wouldn't affect his life from this night.
