MarciaChapter2: hugs to you! We've all been there and hope whatever you are going through gets better! Thanks so much and glad you are enjoying! Klaine is definitely endgame, no worries, but we can't deny Kent is so much fun to write!

onyx115: things are definitely going to change! Thank you!

Iris7125: lol Well, apparently Artie is bi in this fic lol. Seriously though, we appreciate that! It's always nice to hear people enjoy a character we created! It's just the best compliment! Thank you! Yeah, we kind of messed up making him so lovable because now we hate being mean to him lol. Maybe we should stick to making the other love interests unpleasant hahaha. Thank you though!

Title: Sparkle like Bowie in the morning sun

Monday: Acting coaches, character development, learning lines, stage craft

Kurt was aware he was being a giant brat, but he was upset! He had worked his ass off and he still went unrecognized. It might not have wounded him so much if he had gotten accepted into NYADA already. And he knew it wasn't Blaine's fault. Truthfully, he was just as upset about him not getting his own part as much as he was upset for himself. But that didn't stop Kurt from shutting everyone out for the rest of the week.

Kent tried to comfort him, but he just shrugged him off.

His friends tried to cheer him up, but he remained stone-faced. Even Santana knew not to tease him. He had a feeling she was a little bitter herself.

Blaine didn't try anything. He looked just as sad as Kurt was angry, sitting alone and unsmiling during mealtimes. By the end of the week when they were going to have their first read through, Kurt had softened a little and was actually slightly embarrassed. His pride still didn't want to let it go, however.

Which was how Rachel found him as he paced outside of the auditorium.

"Everyone is waiting for you," she said, resting against the wall on her hands as she watched him walk back and forth. "We can't get started without our Phantom."

"You have Blaine don't you?" Kurt snapped.

She clicked her tongue. "You know it's not his fault. You're really hurting his feelings."

Are you the pot or the kettle today? He wanted to bite back, but he swallowed them down. He didn't have time for whatever thing Rachel had going on with Quinn. They had been relatively civil from what he had noticed. But he'd been more focused on himself. "I'm not upset with Blaine," he finally settled on. "I'm just—" He growled and balled his fists. "I just want a win. Not a team win like in Glee or Cheerios, but a win on my own."

"You got a lead," she tried.

"A shared lead!" He slumped beside her on the wall. "You can't tell me that if they had made you share a lead with Santana or Quinn you wouldn't be furious."

She conceded with a tilt of her head. "Fair. But you can still make something out of this role."

"I suppose I have to." He let his head fall back. "I'm being a diva, aren't I?"

"Yes. But I think it's warranted. I feel you're just getting into character."

Kurt actually smiled at that which caused Rachel to smile. She nudged him. "Come on. Let's go do this. You be the best Phantom you can be and blow them all away."

He let her pull him into the auditorium, straight into chaos.

Everyone was yelling over each other, including Mr. Shue and Coach Sylvester. She was actually throwing things in the air like she was only trying to cause more chaos. Kent just looked a bit overwhelmed, but he was still trying to explain something to Brittany. Only Blaine sat alone in a corner, not speaking and looking glum. Kurt had no idea why everyone was arguing, but he didn't bother joining in the fray. He went straight to Blaine.

It took his best friend a few minutes to notice him, but when he did, hope glimmered dimly in his eyes. "Kurt?"

"I'm sorry. I've been kind of a jerk. I just got upset about sharing the part. But I shouldn't have treated you that way."

Blaine didn't smile. "No, you shouldn't have. Are you still mad at me?"

"I wasn't mad at you."

"You have a funny way of showing that."

Kurt knelt down beside Blaine and took his hands. "I'm sorry. I just didn't know what to say. You know how hard I've had to fight for a spot and I felt like it wasn't fair. I'm not mad at you."

Blaine listened, his face blank. He didn't say anything back to Kurt.

"Please forgive me for being a bitch?"

A twitch of a smile.

"I'll buy you a whole case of Oreos…"

Now Blaine was fighting a smile. "They better be double stuff."

"Of course," Kurt said solemnly.

"Well, I'm still mad at you, but I forgive you. I'm just as upset as you. I even was prepared to give up my part."

Kurt shook his head. "Don't. We are going to figure it out. We're sharing—" he dodged a notebook flying at his head. "We're sharing the part."

Blaine smiled again, this time more easily. There was still something sad about his eyes, but Kurt would cheer him up. Blaine started to reply, but his smile fell when he looked over Kurt's shoulder. He pulled his hands out of Kurt's. "Uh, so what should we do about all this?"

"Can you get up out of your chair?" he asked calmly.

Blaine obliged and Kurt picked up the metal folding chair, raised it off the floor, and started banging it loudly. The room quieted almost immediately.

"Can we get to the rehearsal, please?"

"We were threatening to walk out if they didn't give you both your own part," Sam said.

"Not all of us," Rachel muttered.

"Most of us," Sam corrected.

"And we were telling them that there are no more parts," Will said tiredly.

Kurt refrained from rolling his eyes at his Glee coach. He was not on his good side right now. "It's okay. Blaine and I are going to share the part." He glanced over at his best friend. "We haven't quite worked it out yet, but we will." He could have sworn he saw Blaine go a little pale at that, but he was smiling when Kurt looked back at him.

"Let's get started then," Sue said with a dangerous smile.

Sunday

Everyone was pretty much dead on their feet by dinner time. Sue's workout had been particularly grueling that afternoon and even Kurt was sore. He had been doing her program for awhile now too. He had no idea why they had to do it on their free day, but complaining made everything a million times worse. Kurt glanced around the table. Santana muttered darkly in Spanish, Brittany whined in pain every time she lifted her fork to her lips, Sam was pretty much falling asleep in his plate, and Artie just stared at Kent along with Trent. The boy had been following Kent around like a puppy ever since he hurt his ankle.

Things with his boyfriend had been awkward to say the least. Kent kept acting weird, stuttering and stumbling over his words every time they spoke. He wasn't sure if it was because of his realization when he spoke to Blaine that night at their spot, but he was understanding he probably liked the idea of Kent more than he liked Kent. He hadn't fully understood the depth of his feelings until he said it out loud to Blaine. To stay in a relationship with him would be leading him on, so Kurt knew they would have to talk soon. But he was too busy stalking Rachel and Quinn.

They had had another argument apparently because they weren't on speaking terms again. They just glowered at each other over the table and savagely chewed their food. He would need to get Blaine to help him spy on them again.

Speaking of… Blaine was the worst of all. Kurt would look up and he would just be staring at him sadly. Once, he even had tears. Anytime he would ask, Blaine would mumble something about allergies or just being tired. He had unsuccessfully tried to get Blaine to give up his crush, but he refused. Kurt was honestly too busy trying to learn his lines to worry about much else. It was fun, but there was also a lot of pressure to get it right.

Finn texted him to ask where something was and he did try to do a little digging there, but his step brother wouldn't give him much other than he was mad at both Rachel and Quinn. That confirmed for Kurt what they had already learned.

"Blaine! Wake up!" Kurt shook his best friend awake as quietly as he was able.

Blaine snuffled and startled awake. "Wha?" He sat up, blinking dazedly at Kurt in front of him. His curls were ruffled from sleep and sticking up on one side. It was kind of adorable. "Kurt?"

"Get dressed so we can go spy on Rachel!" Kurt whispered. He found some of Blaine's discarded jeans and tossed them to the half awake boy. "I've got a good feeling about tonight!"

Blaine groaned as he rubbed his eyes. "Every time we've spied on them nothing has happened."

"Well, the way they were acting at dinner I feel like one of them is going to break," Kurt whispered back after checking their friends were still sleeping.

"I'm so tired…"

"Fine." Kurt turned around so Blaine couldn't see him frown. He didn't want him to think he was dumb or question why he was so fixated on the girls. "I'll go by myself. Hopefully no creepy hockey-masked psycho crawls out of the lake and murders me…"

"Ugh. Fine." Blaine reluctantly pulled on his jeans and grabbed his flashlight.

They snuck out together and kept to the shadows along the path.

"What if Mr. Shuester catches us?" Blaine asked quietly after a long yawn.

The man had become a pain in Kurt's ass. Not only was he the one who insisted Kurt and Blaine share a part, he constantly fought with Coach Sylvester and delayed everything. When Kurt questioned him about the part, he had he audacity to insist not everyone might be cool with two boys being the romantic leads. He was stifling Kurt. Again. On top of all that, Mr. Shue had made an announcement that he had caught some campers sneaking out of bed and that once lights out happened, no one was to leave their cabins. When Trent innocently asked about the bathroom, Mr. Shue amended it to only using the bathroom. There was a myriad of other questions after that, but Kurt and Blaine had shared a look. Had someone noticed them sneaking out at night?

So they laid low for a few nights. It seemed not to bother Blaine, but Kurt was going mad.

"We will keep our eyes open and hide if we see him," Kurt replied confidently. "Or we will just tell him we are going to the bathroom."

Blaine snorted. "Sure. He will definitely believe us."

"You have to say it with authority."

"Mhm. Sure. Authority."

Kurt pushed him playfully off of the path, snickering when Blaine stumbled. "Just tell him rabid pigeons were after you and chased you!" He dodged Blaine's attempt to grab him and ran down the path giggling.

Blaine chased him. "Would you let the pigeon thing go?" he growled.

"No!" Kurt laughed as he skipped down the path laughing. "Never!" He laughed harder when Blaine tripped again. He was almost to the point where he couldn't breathe when Blaine tackled him to the ground. They went down hard and Kurt tried to crawl away. "You giant oaf!" he wheezed.

Blaine grabbed his ankles as he wiggled away and drug him back. Kurt squealed. He was smiling wider than Kurt had seen him smile for a long time as he hovered over Kurt on the ground. "Stop teasing me about the birds!"

Kurt bit his lip as he giggled up at Blaine. "No."

"Then you suffer the consequences." Blaine immediately started tickling him in all his ticklish spots. Kurt writhed and wriggled, laughing as Blaine assaulted his sides and neck.

"Stop!" Kurt shrieked.

"Are you going to stop making fun of me?"

"No!" He could hardly talk in between bouts of laughter. "I'm getting all dirty!"

"Then I suggest you promise to stop making fun of me," he replied, laughing at how hard Kurt was laughing.

"But— But—" Kurt tried to push Blaine off of him, but he was solid and didn't budge. "But the face you make is just so funny!" He burst into hysterical laughter again as Blaine redoubled his efforts. Kurt grabbed his wrists and tried to push him off again, but Blaine was ready and pinned him to the ground. The laughter and smiles died off as they caught their breath.

Alarm bells went off in Kurt's head. He was laying on the ground with his best friend on top of him, holding him to the ground. Oh, the best friend he used to be in love with that he had been thinking about kissing only last week. He could have sworn Blaine's eyes went to his lips. He stared down at Kurt with such want and longing that he felt heat spread all over his face and through his body. Was he…? Was Blaine about to kiss him?

But the thought was shoved away when Blaine practically threw himself off of Kurt. He cleared his throat and helped him up. Kurt was about to ask him what was happening when Blaine pulled him back to the ground.

"What are you—"

"Shhh!" Blaine pointed towards the path over Kurt's shoulder and he saw her.

Rachel Berry was carefully sneaking in the direction of Quinn's cabin. They ducked lower behind some bushes as she hurried along the path, looking back over her shoulder to make sure she wasn't being followed by Mr. Shue. Once she got to the dark cabin with the two boys following her, she pulled her phone out of her pajama bottoms pocket and called someone. Kurt and Blaine got as close as they dared to her as she huffed in frustration and lowered her phone. Stabbing the screen, she held the phone back up to her ear. After several more calls with Rachel hiding in the shadow of the small building, they heard her speak low into her phone.

"I'm outside. Would you—" She made a frustrated little growl in the back of her throat when whoever she called apparently hung up on her. Her anger quickly turned to nervousness as Quinn Fabray stepped out into the night and went to where Rachel was hiding. She was wearing a soft nightgown and a bitch stare.

She crossed her arms. "Well?"

"I wanted to talk to you," Rachel replied, stepping towards her.

Quinn laughed dryly. "I think you said everything there is to say with that little song the other day. No more words needed."

Blaine hummed in agreement. Kurt shook his head with a little smile. That had really bothered him.

"You just don't understand," Rachel tried as she gripped her necklace in her hand. "I can't be with you like that, but I don't want you to hate me."

"Oh really?" Quinn seemed to grow a little taller and scarier as she advanced on Rachel who was cowering a little. "Who won't understand? Your gay dads you parade around incessantly? How about Santana or Brittany or Kurt? Don't you have a little rainbow flag in your locker, Rachel?" She had backed her up into the wall of the cabin now. "What do you have to lose being with a girl? Who's going to stop you?" Quinn's anger died a little, her eyes softening. "Nothing can stop you when you really want something."

"Finn!" Rachel cried out. Her voice was choked as if she was holding back tears. "Finn. When we kissed, he was heartbroken. You knows how he feels about being cheated on."

Quinn rolled her eyes. "It was a harmless game of spin the bottle. We were all a little drunk."

"Yeah, he wasn't bothered until I told him the way it made me feel."

Kurt and Blaine looked at each other with eyebrows raised and knowing smiles before going back to the drama.

"How did you feel?" Quinn asked quietly. She had stepped back a little and was looking down at her pink slippers.

"It was the best kiss I ever had," Rachel said, staring at Quinn until she looked up stunned. "At first I just thought it was because I was drunk, but then when we kissed again, I knew. And I was upset because I love Finn. More than you ever did. Don't look at me like that, you know it's true. I don't want to hurt him. We… We have plans…"

Quinn nodded. "I know you think you have everything all figured out, but I'm proof you can have all the plans in the world and one moment will change everything." She moved closer to Rachel who fidgeted. She gently cupped Rachel's cheek. "I have everything to lose, but to me it would be worth it to have you. To me, I wouldn't be losing as much as I was gaining."

Rachel's eyes went wide at this and she closed the distance so they were kissing. Kurt and Blaine took one look at each other and quietly snuck away to let them have their privacy. Once they were safely out of earshot, Kurt shook his head, hands together and pressed to his lips like he was praying.

"Wow! Can you believe it? They have been dancing around each other for so long, but all it took was one conversation and a kiss and now I bet they're going to be a couple. I'm going to give Rachel so much shit for this. I think I'm still in shock. Like, how do you deny what you feel for so long…" His words died off as he looked at Blaine who was staring at him the same way he had been earlier when he had been pinned to the ground. His heart thumped loudly in his ears and his mouth dried up. "Stop."

"What?" Blaine asked, still staring at him.

They were just at the hill they had to climb before getting to their cabin. The path light was enough he could see the desire on his face. Surely this wasn't about him. Blaine was just getting sentimental or something. Warmth radiated from Blaine's eyes.

Kurt licked his suddenly dry lips. "Stop looking at me like that."

"How am I looking at you?" Blaine stepped closer.

"Like… Like…" He swallowed, his throat bobbing with an audible click. He stepped away from Blaine. "Like you want to—"

"Hey!" Mr. Shuester's voice broke their concentration as he came running towards them on the path.

Blaine grabbed Kurt's arm and dove into the woods. They ran as fast as they could, giggling like children and kind of forgetting whatever just happened. They finally lost the choir director and not-so-quietly snuck back into their own cabin. Kurt was just glad Blaine wasn't looking at him like that anymore because it was giving him feelings and ideas he shouldn't be having.

Blaine tiredly pulled off his jeans and stumbled back into his bed. "G'night Kurt," he murmured into his pillow.

Kurt followed suit, climbing up into his bunk and wriggling under the covers. Sam stirred and flipped in his bed. Kurt watched him for a few seconds until he was satisfied the boy had gone back to sleep.

"Blaine?"

He didn't answer and Kurt thought he had fallen asleep. He closed his eyes in an effort to do just that when Blaine shifted below him.

"Blaine? You awake?"

"I'm not leaving this bed. Coach Sylvester made me do chin ups until I, and I quote, 'don't look like a deflated balloon' anymore. I cannot stress to you how tired I am."

"Relax. I…" wanted to know why you almost kissed me. Did you try to kiss me? Am I the one you keep talking about? "Just wanted to say thank you. For coming with me. Yeah."

"You're welcome," Blaine replied sleepily. It was only about a minute before his snores joined the others.

Kurt laid awake staring at his ceiling, for how long he didn't really know. He was being crazy. Blaine wasn't thinking of him that way. It was just residual feelings creeping their way in along with doubts he had about his relationship with Kent. Blaine wasn't in love with him. There was no way. Right?

"You had better get up or else you're going to miss breakfast." Someone threw a pillow at him.

Kurt groaned and rubbed at his sore eyes. He definitely did not get enough sleep. The reasons why flooded back into his mind and woke him up fully. Another pillow was tossed up at him.

"Come on! We need to chat."

Kurt rolled over and peeked down at Artie who was waiting for him, fully dressed and somber faced. Kurt climbed down and began dressing. A quick glance around let him know he and Artie were alone in the cabin.

"What do we need to chat about?" Kurt stumbled a little as he bounced into his very tight jeans.

Artie squinted at him, arms crossed. "Did you sneak out with Blaine last night?"

While he was glad he was turned around buttoning his pants he finally managed to squeeze into, the way his voice squeaking gave him away. "No."

"Let's try this again. Sam heard you guys last night. He said you came in here all giggly and flirty. So what we're you guys doing?"

Using the act of changing his shirt as an excuse to not answer for a few seconds, Kurt scrambled for a reply. He was still trying to figure out just what the hell transpired between them himself, so how was he going to answer that? "We were just going to the bathroom."

"Together?"

"It's dark and scary!" Kurt slipped on his shoes.

"What you're doing to Kent is not okay." Artie moved in front of Kurt when he tried to run away out the door. "You need to let him go if you want to be with Blaine."

Kurt made a noise of frustration. He didn't want to tell him about the girls because he didn't want to out them. But he couldn't let Artie think he was cheating on Kent. Kurt pinched the bridge of his nose. "Listen, I do care about Kent and I wouldn't cheat on him. Blaine is going through something and I wanted to talk to him." That much was actually true. He really needed to understand what was going on with him. "We like to take walks. He's my best friend, okay?" It was his turn to squint at Artie. "And since when have you been elected the president of the Kent fan club?"

Artie sputtered. "Hey! He's very nice! I like him. As a friend! Although his muscles make me feel things… but like, in a best friend way!"

"Mhm. Can I go to breakfast now or will people start to accuse me of cheating with you?" Kurt tapped his foot.

Artie finally dropped it and they went to the cafeteria together.

Kent greeted him with a kiss, but was acting distant. Kurt asked if everything was okay, but he just smiled weakly and shrugged it off. He wouldn't press his boyfriend to talk if he didn't want to, so Kurt let it go until Kent was ready to talk.

So he moved on to Blaine and that went about as well.

"We need to practice," Kurt said as he popped a grape into his mouth.

Blaine moved his scrambled eggs around his plate listlessly. "Sure."

Kurt waited for him to say more. He didn't. "After the acting workshop?"

Blaine nodded, still not looking up from his eggs.

"What's wrong with you?"

"That's the question I've been asking myself a lot lately," Blaine said vaguely.

Squeezing his fork in frustration, Kurt looked around the table. Artie was still sort of glaring at him while Sam kept trying glancing at Blaine and Kurt in a way he probably thought was inconspicuous. Trent stared sadly at Kent who was slowly eating some yogurt. Santana and Brittany sat down and looked around at all the boys.

"What's wrong with all of you?" Santana asked. "You all look like the batteries in your favorite toys died."

"When that happens to me, I have a little funeral for them," Brittany stated.

Kent smiled up at her. "That's really nice."

"Thanks," she said brightly.

Kurt was about to encourage them all to say what they were thinking when Quinn and Rachel sat down with their trays, giggling and smiling at each other. They noticed everyone looking at them curiously and abruptly sobered.

"How's everyone's breakfast?" Quinn asked.

Everyone mumbled their half-hearted replies.

"Okay…" she said, going back to her food.

They were all gathered in the auditorium after breakfast as Coach Sylvester and Mr. Shue climbed up to the stage. The voices of all the campers buzzed around Kurt as he sat down between Rachel and Kent. Blaine had excused himself to the bathroom, still barely speaking. Kurt would speak to him at their rehearsal later that was scheduled for after this workshop. Blaine came in right as Mr. Shue called for attention and sat at the end of the row next to Brittany.

"We have a really big surprise for you today!" Mr. Shue said with a wide grin as he clasped his hands together. "We actually brought in an acting coach who has real world experience in the field of film and TV."

Coach Sylvester nudged Mr. Shue aside. "It was my idea. Don't take the credit for my brilliance."

Mr. Shue adjusted his sweater vest ruefully. "Anyway, we are very fortunate that he cleared his schedule for the whole week so he can share his expertise with all of you and answer any questions you might have! Now, he might look a little familiar to some of you…" Mr. Shue winked at Blaine. "And we are very excited to introduce him to you!"

Kurt looked at Blaine who's eyes were huge. "Oh no…"

"Kids, please welcome—" he was abruptly cut off by Sue who stole his mic.

"Cooper Anderson!"

She lowered the mic as Mr. Shue fumed at her amidst applause and gasps from the crowd of campers.

From behind the red stage curtains, Blaine's older brother stepped forward, a dazzling grin on his handsome face. "Hello campers! Who's ready to act?"

The kids went wild, cheering and clapping. Cooper continued to soak it all up on stage.

Kurt turned back to Blaine, concern pulling his mouth into a frown.

Blaine hardly brought up Cooper. Not because he didn't love him, but because he didn't have to. Everyone else always did. It was their second year of camp together that Kurt even learned Blaine had a brother. They had been talking to Blaine's mom about that year's production on the phone when she got a text from Cooper and had gone crazy. He had landed his first movie and she excitedly told Blaine she would call him back so she could call Cooper. When Kurt had questioned him, Blaine got really upset, crying and burrowing in his bed. Once Kurt got him to calm down with cuddles and snacks, Blaine finally explained how he always felt like he was stuck in his brother's shadow his entire life. They were compared relentlessly and his mom ending their call had hurt his feelings. Over the next few years, Kurt never actually met Cooper, but he heard about him plenty. Blaine's parents were ridiculously proud of him as was the rest of the family. Blaine was proud of him too, but he hated being compared. One of the places he didn't have to worry about that was here at camp. Kurt wondered how he was going to handle this.

By the look on his face, probably not well.

Rachel looked like Christmas had come early, her mind scheming with ways this could help her hone her talent. Kurt thought about trying to move closer to Blaine to check on him, but Kent suddenly grabbed his hand and Cooper started speaking on stage.

"I'm so very pleased to meet all you dreamers!" Cooper began. His eyes scanned the crowd. "We are going to have a lot of fun learning together, but first… where are you, squirt?" He shaded his bright eyes from light until he made it to Kurt's row. His smile widened when he found Blaine. "There you are! Blainey, why don't you hop up here on stage and be my first helper?"

Trent swooned. "I'll be your helper…"

Blaine had slouched into his chair so much that he was nearly in the floor. At Cooper's words, practically the entire body of kids were turned around staring at him.

"Blaine…" Kurt tried to get his attention, but he was too busy trying to hide.

Meanwhile, Cooper leapt from the stage and bounced down the aisle to where Blaine was conveniently on the end. "Come on! Don't leave me hanging!" Cooper held a hand out to Blaine who looked like he was going to throw up or bite him. "Everyone, who wants to see a show?"

The whole room exploded in agreement with his statement.

He moved his hand closer to Blaine. "What do you say?"

Kurt saw the moment Blaine shut down his uncomfortable feelings and forced a show smile. He took Cooper's hand and allowed him to lead him to the stage. Kurt wanted to tell him he didn't need to do this, but he gamely tried his best. They sang a duet and then Cooper had him help dispense his unorthodox advice. Blaine tried protesting a few times, but was shut down. Kurt was slightly confused by the end of his presentation and Blaine seemed like he wanted to be anywhere but there.

By the time they sat down to lunch, Blaine seemed ready to combust. He viciously stabbed at his Caesar salad as Kurt slid in next to him.

"Hey. So that was… really something."

Blaine barked out a bitter laugh. "Yeah, really humiliating."

"I thought you were great!" Kurt said, trying to be encouraging.

Blaine wasn't having it. "Why is he even here?"

Before Kurt could think of an answer, Kent sat down along with Artie and Sam. Rachel, Quinn, Santana, and Brittany soon followed.

"Ka-Blaine-o! That was sick bro!" Kent held up a fist bump that Blaine ignored in favor of sawing at his chicken. Kent's impressed grin wavered. "Is he doing that thing that Mr. Anderson taught us and ignoring his scene partner?"

Not even looking up, Blaine let out a growly sigh.

A dawning look of understanding broke across Kent's face. "Whoa, I just realized you guys have the same last name! What are the chances?"

A slew of pitying looks were sent his way but no one said anything.

"Well, I for one can't wait to put his advice into practice!" Rachel announced. "It was genius!"

"No, it was stupid," Blaine mumbled.

"Yeah, I'm going to point and yell at everyone when we do our musical!" Sam said.

"And I'm definitely not going to college," Santana added. "If Mr. Anderson can be successful without it, I don't need it."

"I'm turning into every pose for a picture from now on," Artie said. "The man's brilliant!"

Blaine's fork screeched across his plate, causing a few of them to glance his way. Kurt was about to change the subject when the worst thing to possibly happen, happened.

"Heya kids!" Cooper straddled the bench and joined Blaine's table. People whispered and giggled. He threw an arm around his brother's shoulders. Kurt noticed Blaine tense a little. "You guys are just so awesome!"

Trent finally joined them. He slid into his seat and stared at Cooper adoringly. "I've just been talking to Mr. Anderson and trying to encourage him to stay for two weeks instead of just one! And he said he would try to make it work!"

"Well, you guys are so nice! It feels good to be worshiped— uh, I mean give back."

Blaine rolled his eyes and tried to wiggle Cooper's arm off.

"I can't believe you've been holding out on us, Blaine." Santana leaned her chin on her hand. "You had a famous brother this whole time and have been keeping him all to yourself."

"Blaine has a brother?" Kent asked innocently.

Blaine started to say something, but Cooper laughed heartily.

"Aw, Blainey gets a little jealous! That's why I didn't want to tell him I was coming! Thought it would be a fun surprise!"

"I'm not surprised," Blaine snarled, finally shoving Cooper's arm away.

Cooper's smile fell. "Blaine?"

"I don't want you here and all that bullshit you call a master class?" He laughed derisively. "If any of you follow that 'advice' then you will be laughed out of every audition." Blaine stood, snatching up his mostly uneaten food. "You've taken the worst summer ever and made it just that much worse. Thanks Cooper."

With that, he stormed away towards the trash cans and disposed of his food before stomping outside.

As Kurt leapt up to follow him, he heard Kent gasp.

"Whoa! They are brothers?"

Cooper started to go after Blaine too, but Kurt shook his head. "Let me. Give him some time to cool off. I'm sure he will talk then, okay?"

Cooper nodded sadly. Kurt wanted to be a little bit mad at him, but he really felt like they just had a hard time understanding each other.

The sun had been covered by rain clouds when he burst outside, a dampness filling the air. Kurt spotted Blaine marching towards the cabins and he called after him.

"Go away, Kurt!" Blaine yelled back without even looking. "I don't want to talk. I want to punch something."

"Blaine!" He ignored what Blaine said. They had had their share of fights and arguments in the past, teaching Kurt how to handle Blaine when he got like this. He stayed angry for awhile, but he didn't like to be alone. He blustered for a bit before breaking down and crying. Then after some cuddles he would be fine. So, he followed him a few feet away even as thunder crackled through the sky. "I'm here for you whenever you are ready."

Blaine continued to stomp away, not answering him or looking back. They were at their cabin door when Blaine finally turned around, his hazel eyes hard and his mouth twisted into a sneer. "Go away."

"No."

"I want to be alone!"

"No you don't. You always say that but you—"

"Well, I mean it now!" Blaine laughed without humor and scrubbed his hands through his hair. "I don't want you here."

Kurt refused to let Blaine hurt his feelings. He was upset and lashing out. Kurt was his best friend and was going to be there for him no matter what. Blaine laughed again when he told him as much.

"God, you just don't get it, do you?" Blaine met his eyes and Kurt saw an anger there he hadn't ever seen before. It was mixed with pain and sadness and Kurt wanted to make it go away. "You are part of the problem. I want you to go away."

And that did hurt. Tears pricked Kurt's eyes as he shook his head. "You don't mean that."

"Yes I do," Blaine said as he jerked open the door and faced Kurt in the door way. "Go away."

"Blaine," Kurt said softly, pleading.

Rain began to spatter on the ground, a few drops at first, but more and more joined them as they stared each other down.

Blaine released a deep breath and some of the anger seemed to leave, sorrow taking over. Kurt thought he was going to let him in so he could help him. But she just shook his head slowly. "Go away. Please. I just want to be alone."

Kurt sucked in a shuddering breath, quickly swiping at his eyes. "But… why? Why are you upset with me? Is it because I was mad about the part? I'm really sorry I hurt your feelings—"

Blaine cut him off with a strained sigh. "This isn't about a goddamn part, Kurt. I don't really care about that. I… I just want to be alone. Please."

"I'll be here when you are ready," Kurt replied even though his heart was breaking all over again. Heavy rain drops plopped on his head and rolled through his hair, down his face. "I'm ready to talk about whatever this is between us when you are."

Blaine's breath hitched, but he slowly closed the door. Right before it shut all the way, Blaine peered at him sadly. "Go back to the cafeteria. It's raining."

The door clicked shut and Kurt was suddenly standing alone in the rain.

What the fuck?

He trudged back towards the cafeteria, but changed his mind at the thought of having to see his friends and talk about what happened. He considered just walking through the rain, but he wanted to stay close to Blaine and had just seen a spear of lighting flash across the sky, so he went to Kent's cabin a few down from his own. He knew no one would be there for awhile, so he sat against the door and finally let himself break down.

How did the day turn out like this? He still hadn't gotten an explanation for the weirdness between them and now Blaine didn't want to even talk to him. According to him, Kurt was the problem. Fresh tears began when he realized. His confession. He told Blaine he used to have feelings for him and although Blaine promised it wouldn't bother him, it apparently did. All those times Blaine was looking at him oddly was probably him feeling weird about it. And he was jealous that Kurt had a boyfriend. Cooper coming had just been the last straw. Kurt buried his face in his hands. Stupid. He was so freaking stupid. He was so sure he was over Blaine, but he must be making him uncomfortable. Why else would Blaine say he was the problem? Of course Blaine would feel uncomfortable with him cuddling him. This explained why he didn't want to tell him who he liked. It would be so awkward. Would this be it for their friendship? It dawned on him then.

"I'm not over him," he whispered in the silence. He finally allowed himself to admit it. He had been trying to outrun his feelings. He dated someone sweet and wonderful and that couldn't even change his heart. He tried to focus on himself and his hobbies, Cheerios and Glee and working out, but that didn't work. He tried to encourage Blaine to date Trent, but his jealous heart preened when Blaine rejected that. Kurt had been throwing things at the attraction deeply rooted in his heart, but it had swallowed them up like an inferno and only grown more wild. He was in deep shit.

The door bumped against his back and for a heart clenching moment, he hoped it was Blaine coming to confess his love for him. Kurt sniffed and wiped off his face as he moved away from the door.

Kent stepped in and his face fell at seeing Kurt crying in the floor. "Oh, babe. What's wrong?" He knelt in front of Kurt and used his shirt to wipe the tears from his face.

"I don't deserve you," Kurt sobbed as new tears flooded over the freshly dried spots.

Kent grinned prettily and Kurt wished with everything in him that he could make himself love him. It would be so easy to fall in love with Kent if he wasn't already consumed with feelings for Blaine. "Well, it's good you already got me, isn't it?"

This didn't have the reassuring effect on him that Kent intended and released a new bout of crying. Kent searched his face, terrified at what was happening. "Kurt? Aw, nuts. What did I say wrong?" He rubbed Kurt's arms in a comforting way.

"I— I—" Kurt hiccuped as he tried to catch his breath. He forced himself to look up into Kent's soft eyes. "We need to talk."

Sorry to end this chapter on a depressing note, but remember we believe in happy endings! And we had to sneak Cooper in here somewhere lol.
