TW: Thank you.
Couple things about this chapter in regards to the timeline.
Patriot happened but I'm not going to cover it because there really wouldn't be any real significant changes aside from Paige being in Lois's place.
Little Box of Horrors didn't happen since that was mainly meant to be where Paige stepped into being a Whitelighter, which she has already done.
Freaky Phoebe happened but since it wasn't really a Paige centered episode, not going to be covering it.
Halliwell Manor
Afternoon
Clark entered the Manor, hearing Paige and Piper seeming to argue. He knew Paige had been over here a lot lately between Metropolis and the New Zealand Charge she'd been given due to all the demon attacks, so he wasn't all that surprised to know she was here. It actually might help him here.
"It does seem to support the theory that Wyatt is the one creating them," Paige was saying as Clark walked into the room.
"Wyatt is creating what?" Clark asked as she and Piper turned to face him.
"Clark, what are you doing here?" Paige asked surprised.
"First answer the question," Clark said, shooting her a 'don't change the subject' look.
"Your girlfriend thinks my son is creating the demons that are attacking us," Piper supplied and Clark blinked.
"Is that possible?"
"Well he did create a demon version of Leo earlier in the year," Paige pointed out and Piper grumbled. "I heard that."
"Clark, I doubt you came here to support Paige's insane ideas," Piper said, hoping to change the subject.
"You're right, I didn't. I was hoping to take a look at the Book of Shadows," Clark said, taking the sisters aback,
"Okay, this is new. What for?" Paige said bewildered.
"I was talking to Tess and Oliver earlier about the Omega Symbol that was branded on Slade's skull. And I remembered Tess compared it to the mark of the Beast from the Book of Revelation. This thing has to have been around before," Clark said and the sisters got what he was saying.
"And you were wondering if maybe there was something in the Book of Shadows about it," Piper said and Clark nodded.
"If it helps deal with these hero haters and whatever this thing is, go on," Paige said with a hand wave after exchanging a look with Piper to make sure it was.
"Thank you both," Clark said gratefully before heading up to the attic just before a phone rang.
Appearing in the attic, Clark made his way over to the altar and opened the Book of Shadows. Beginning to go through, Clark didn't find anything at first. Then, he paused as he saw the Omega Symbol next to an illustration of a creature made up of pure darkness with red eyes.
"Darkseid," Clark muttered as he began to read out loud. "Believed to be the inspiration for the Devil from Christianity and Hades from Greek Myth, Darkseid is a being of pure evil. He has the ability to take control of the minds and hearts of men. Darkseid is believed to be responsible for events such as the First World War and the War of the Roses. Ruler of the realm known as Apokolips, Darkseid commands an army and prophets he uses to spread his influence. Only the Bow of Orion is capable of defeating him."
Clark stared down at the illustration after he had finished. He'd finally put a face and name to what was happening, and yet it didn't help any. Although he was curious about this Bow of Orion.
Could this be the thing that may tip the scales in their favor?
Downstairs, Paige watched uneasily as Piper was putting together a spell to communicate with Wyatt. The Whitelighter she now was didn't approve but her sister would not be talked out of this. And honestly, a part of Paige could admit that maybe being able to communicate with the most powerful two year old in the world would be a good thing.
"Okay," Piper said before beginning. "Help this mother understand the thoughts inside her little man, though his mouth be quiet, let us hear his inner Wyatt."
Barely had the words left Piper's mouth when, in white lights, a young man who bore a striking resemblance to Leo appeared on the other side of the room. Piper and Paige started as the man looked around before spotting Piper.
"Mom? It's me, Wyatt," he said as the sisters said in disbelief.
"Shit. What did you do?" Paige asked as she glanced at her surprised sister.
Upstairs, Clark was still looking through the book of Shadows, although now he was scanning it for any references to this Bow of Orion when his cell phone rang. Pulling it out, he saw it was Emil and answered.
"Emil, is something wrong?" Clark inquired.
"Do you remember Cadmus Labs?" Emil asked him.
"Hard to forget it. What about it?" Clark inquired.
"I've finished going through the files. All the Lex clones have been accounted for, except one. LX-15," Emil said to Clark's alarm.
"There's another Lex on the loose," Clark muttered.
"And supplies are still being sent to Cadmus. I think someone might be helping him," Emil said and Clark frowned at this.
"I'll call Tess, see if we can't figure out who's helping him or where he is," Clark said before hanging up.
Downstairs, Paige, still in a bit of disbelief, watched as Wyatt happily hugs his mother. You'd think she'd be used to time traveling nephews after Chris, but nope.
"Looks like you're as surprised to see me as I am to be back," Wyatt noted as he got a good look at them both.
"Back from where?" Paige asked confused.
"The future," Wyatt quipped and his aunt gave him an unamused look.
"No no no, we wanted to communicate with you, the younger you. The two and a half year old you," Piper explained.
"Well if there's one thing you guys taught me, magic may work in mysterious ways, but it always works," Wyatt noted.
"Where'd you hear that, that's nice?" Paige asked impressed and Wyatt smiled.
"I'm surprised to hear you ask. In the future you're always telling me that," Wyatt said, surprising them both.
"Huh. Well that's the future me. I'm the me now who clearly doesn't have those kinds of brilliant thoughts," Paige pointed out.
"Right. All I'm saying is if your spell brought me here, it must have been for a reason," Wyatt pointed out.
"I don't know. Do you remember what you were going through when you were two and a half?" Piper asked doubtfully.
"No, not really," Wyatt said, disappointing Piper.
"So then we're still looking for that reason," Piper said unhappily.
"But still, this is a fantastic opportunity magic's brought us," Wyatt said as he began looking around the house, comparing it to the one in his time. "For me to learn about the past and you to learn about the future."
"No no no, we don't wanna learn about the future. We don't wanna risk changing it, again," Piper said quickly and Wyatt looked at her confused.
"Again?"
"Don't ask," Paige quickly cautioned him.
The whole story about Gideon turning him evil and Chris coming back to save him had obviously never come up in the future and they really didn't feel like explaining it now.
"Okay, but until the time comes to send me back, we can at least try to enjoy the moment, right?" Wyatt suggested and Piper looked at her son in disbelief.
"How'd you become such an optimist?"
"From you Mom," Wyatt said simply and Paige couldn't help but laugh.
"You must have turned over a new leaf in the future," Paige said, looking at Piper in amusement as her sister scowled at her.
"Don't count on it. So that doesn't help us with our Wyatt," Piper noted and Paige sighed.
"No," Paige said as Clark walked back into the room.
"Hey, I need to – oh," Clark said as he saw Wyatt, who's eyes lit up upon seeing him.
"Uncle Clark! I barely recognize you out of uniform and without the nerd clothes and glasses," Wyatt said excitedly as he rushed over and hugged Clark.
"Uncle? Nerd clothes and glasses? Who are you?" Clark said in bewilderment as Wyatt let him go.
"It's me, Wyatt," Wyatt said and Clark blinked.
"Time travel?" Clark asked as he glanced over at the sisters, who nodded.
"Let me guess, not something you're unfamiliar with?" Paige asked dryly.
"It's happened once or twice," Clark said in a matching tone.
"On the bright side, looks like you two are in it for the long haul, Uncle Clark," Piper teased, smiling as Clark and Paige blushed.
"You were saying something?" Paige asked, hoping to change the subject.
"Yeah, thanks for letting me look into the Book of Shadows, but I need to head back to Metropolis," Clark explained and Paige raised an eyebrow.
"Problem?" she questioned.
"Yes, but I'll tell you everything later once I know how bad it is," Clark promised and Paige nodded.
"Just be careful. With everything going on…"Paige trailed off but Clark nodded, walking over to her.
"I'll be fine. I'm calling Tess to help me. I'll see you later," Clark promised.
Then, with a brief kiss to Paige's lips, Clark let her go and sped out of the house.
Cadmus Labs
Later in the afternoon
After Clark had called Tess to the lab and explained the situation. He'd been surprised by her reaction.
"You're assuming he's a threat just because he's a Luthor. What ever happened to 'everyone deserving a second chance'?" Tess inquired.
"Luthor blood is Luthor blood, it's poison," Clark said, bewildered by Tess's almost flinch but putting it aside for now as he gestured to a room behind her. "It's here. It's the only room in the building that's lead-lined."
"Wait," Tess said as she put a hand out to stop him. "I'll handle this."
"Tess, he's dangerous. They're born that way," Clark said firmly.
Not waiting to see Tess's response, Clark walked over to the door and pushed it open. Walking inside, Clark turned on a light switch as Tess ran up behind him. Aside from a chessboard and some supplies, the room was empty. And a book, Clark mused as he made his way over to it.
"I-I'll go back to Watchtower, see if I can program Oliver's satellite," Tess said as Clark picked up the book, looking down at it.
It had a message written in the first page.
"Dearest Tess, thanks for the read but I'm all grown up now," Clark read, fury filling him as he looked up at Tess, who had frozen halfway out the door and was looking at him like a deer caught in the headlights. "Alexander. You knew about all this. After everything Oliver and I did to trust you, this is how you repay us?"
"No. No, I was only trusting to protect you-" Tess started.
"You were only trying to protect yourself!" Clark snapped angrily before brushing passed her.
"Clark-" Tess started.
Tess dropped her purse and it fell to the floor with a clatter. But Tess barely paid attention as she saw what had Clark's: the symbol of the House of El had been carved into the wall repeatedly. Tess almost didn't notice as Clark whirled back around on her.
"You're no better than he is," Clark sneered before noticing something in Tess's purse.
Sticking out of it was a cylinder with Kryptonian symbols on it.
"What else are you hiding Tess?" Clark demanded as he pulled it out.
"It's a Kryptonian Relic, it just showed up. I was gonna tell you about it, but I literally just received it," Tess tried desperately to explain.
"Why do you have it?" Clark asked angrily.
As Clark looked back down at the relic, he noticed a line in it, like a twist. It was divided into sections, sections that could be rearranged he realized.
"Clark, there's something I need to tell you," Tess started.
But Clark was barely listening, moving the sections, completing a strange marking. The mark glowed brightly and Clark was momentarily blinded.
When it faded, Clark looked up and froze. Tess was standing in front of him, but it wasn't Tess. She had dark eyeshadow on and her nails had extensions like a rock star. Her hair was a darker shade of red and she was dressed with a punk rock look, a leather jacket and black, ripped jeans.
"Tess?" Clark asked as they stared at each other in shock.
"What happened to you?" the Clark look alike asked menacingly as Tess took a step back in fear.
"I was about to ask you the same question," Tess said as she looked him over.
His clothes weren't all that different, his jacket had been replaced with a long, leather duster and his jeans were now ripped. But it was Clark himself that was the most different. He had several days' worth of stubble on his face and a dark, angry look in his eyes. It was very unnerving.
"Clark, whatever's happening, let's just talk and we can fix it," Tess tried to reason.
"I don't think so," Clark sneered.
Before another word could be said, the Clark look alike turned, speeding out of the room and the building, leaving Tess staring after him, wondering what had just happened.
Obviously, I'm combining the plot of Imaginary Friends with Luthor, except instead of Earth-2, I'm having the evil Clark come from the evil Charmed World. It's a lot more fun that way LOL!
