Disclaimer: Still don't own them. Still wish I did.
A/N: This takes place the same day as the previous chapter. Hope you like it.
Eric looked at the other three guardians as they sat in the main room of the monolith. "What I am about to tell you, you have to keep secret," he stated. "It can not go beyond this room. Jason's life depends on it. Do you understand?"
The other three guardians nodded, not sure they really wanted to hear this.
Eric took a deep breath, letting it out slowly before looking at them. "Jason is going to fall into the hands of the alliance of evil," he claimed. "What's more, we can do nothing to prevent this from happening."
Lori, the guardian of healing, looked at Eric as if he had lost his mind. "Eric, how can you say this," she asked. "We cannot allow this to happen. We are sworn to protect him."
Anna, the guardian of knowledge, frowned at Eric. "Lori is right," she stated. "The alliance of evil will kill him. We need to stop it now."
Eric held up his hand, the look on his face showing how miserable he was feeling. "I don't like this any more than you do," he snapped. "We have no choice. Queen Charlene is the new ruler of the alliance. She has all ready started to move forward with her plans. If we let her know that we are on to her, she will have Alphonse kill him before we could stop it." He looked at the two women, his eyes pleading with them. "The only way to keep Jason alive is to let this happen. We can not interfere."
Randy looked at Eric as he finished. "Alphonse," he asked. "You don't mean the Alphonse who tried to become a guardian, do you?"
Eric nodded. "I saw him with my own two eyes," he said softly. "It is him."
Lori looked at Eric, her eyes narrowing at him. "What do you mean you saw him," she questioned. "Did you go somewhere?"
Eric sighed and sat down, leaning his arms on his legs. "There is a lot to tell you," he said. "Let me start from the beginning."
Jason stood at the cliff in front of the temple, looking out over the jungle, deep in thought. He could feel the evil in the air, almost as if it was moving in waves all around him. He did not hear his mother walk out of the temple and approach him. Jason gave a start as Dulcea moved to stand beside him.
Dulcea put her hand on his arm as he looked at her. "I'm sorry, Jason," she murmured. "I didn't mean to startle you. Are you all right?"
Jason turned to face her, shaking his head. "I don't know," he said softly. "I feel the presence of evil in the air. It seems to be getting stronger. The alliance of evil is up to something, I just wish I knew what it was."
Dulcea closed her eyes, concentrating. Her eyes snapped open as the feeling came upon her. She met Jason's eyes. "We need to talk to Eric," she said. "See if he knows what is going on."
Jason shook his head. "He all ready mentioned it to me," he stated. "He doesn't know any more about it then we do." Jason's turned back to gaze over the jungle once again. "I don't like this. They are planning something big, I can feel it."
Lori and Anna sat in stunned silence as Eric explained to all of them what he had witnessed on Mysteria. They didn't know what to say as Eric finished speaking.
Randy looked at Eric. "You were right, Eric," he said. "We have to let this happen. I don't like it any more than you do, but we can't let Jason get killed. We have to let him be taken. But, then what?"
"I'm going to make sure that I am there," Eric stated. "I have a plan, but I'm going to need Amanda and Kim to help me pull it off. If we handle it just right, Jason's powers will not leave him."
Lori looked at Eric, frowning. "We can't let you do that," she sighed. "There has to be another way."
Eric sat forward, taking her hand in his. "I have to do this," he said softly. "I'm the only one who can conceal what has to be done to save Jason's powers. You three don't have the power of magic to pull this off." He sat back, looking Lori in the eyes. "I just hope that having Jason here will allow Amanda to relax enough for her powers to become complete. I'm going to need her help to pull this off."
Jason watched as Amanda ran through the kata for the tenth time, nodding in satisfaction as she moved swiftly and surely. He smiled at her as she finished it, looking over towards him. "You've got it down," he said, walking over to her. "How do you feel?"
Amanda smiled at him, her mind and body totally relaxed. "I feel better than I have in days," she stated. "Thank you for showing me how to relax. I think I'm ready to work with Randy and Eric tomorrow." She turned as Dulcea and Zordon walked out of the temple, dressed like they were ready to work out. "What's going on?"
Zordon smiled, turning to face Jason as he dropped into a defensive stance. "I feel like I need to teach Jason a little lesson," he claimed. "Teach him some respect for his elders." He raised his eyebrows at his son. "Care to take up the challenge?"
Jason met his father's gaze, smiling as he saw his mother dropping into a defensive stance as well. Jason reached down, pulling his shirt over his head and dropping it onto the ground. He rolled his shoulders, loosening his muscles before dropping into his stance to face his parents. "Challenge accepted," he stated. "Whenever you are ready."
Zordon moved first, his left leg lifting in a kick aimed at Jason's stomach.
Jason's hands moved down, blocking Zordon's kick. He moved like lightening, his hands wrapping around Zordon's ankle and twisting his leg, throwing him off balance. Zordon staggered back, trying to keep from falling as Jason turned his attention to Dulcea.
Dulcea went into a spinning kick, her foot catching Jason in the side. She moved to follow him as he staggered back, a smile on her face. Her smile faded as Jason squatted down, his left leg going between her feet to trip her. Dulcea felt her feet get tangled up and she fell onto her hands and knees.
Jason turned from her, sensing his father coming up on him. He ducked under the blow that Zordon took at his head. Jason's right arm shot out, connecting with Zordon's chest. The blow was powerful and Zordon felt his feet fly out from under him. He flew back from the blow, landing on the ground and feeling his breath leaving his lungs. He lay there stunned, unable to get his breath back as Jason turned to Dulcea once more.
Dulcea lunged at Jason, meaning to wrap her arms around him and pull him to the ground. She grimaced as Jason wrapped his arms around hers, pulling her down on top of him as his legs lifted to place his feet against her stomach.
Jason pushed his feet upwards, releasing her arms as he felt her body fly over his head. He quickly rolled over as Dulcea crashed onto her back, her breath leaving her as she landed on the ground.
Jason stood up quickly, turning for face Zordon as he heard him move towards him. He ducked down, letting Zordon's arm pass over his head. He stood up, spinning on his left leg and shooting his right leg out, the foot catching Zordon's back and making him fall to his hands and knees.
Zordon moved quickly, pushing himself to his feet and turning to face his son. He moved towards Jason, his arms opening, meaning to wrap them around his son. He never got close as an energy beam blasted him back, throwing him on the ground.
Amanda had stood back, watching Jason as he sparred with their parents. She didn't even think about what she was doing, just lifted her right hand and shot out the energy beam, striking her father in the chest.
Dulcea had just gotten to her feet, moving towards Jason as Zordon took the energy beam in the chest. She moved over to Zordon, kneeling beside him as Jason and Amanda rushed over.
Amanda dropped to her knees, opposite of Dulcea, looking in concern as her father slowly opened his eyes.
"Father, are you okay," Jason asked, bracing his arms on his knees as he looked down at Zordon. He felt relief flood over him as Zordon met his gaze, frowning.
"I feel like I've been hit by a speeding train," Zordon groaned. "What happened?"
Jason couldn't hide his grin as he placed a hand of Amanda's shoulder. "Mandy blasted you with some of her power," he chuckled. "You still think it was a good idea for me to come here?"
Amanda and Dulcea started to chuckle as they grabbed Zordon's arms and helped him sit up. Zordon shook his head, a smile coming to his face. "Next time, I'll think twice," he said, starting to chuckle.
Jason couldn't help himself as he started to laugh. He held out his hand, offering it to Zordon. "Need some help getting up," he barely managed to say. "I wouldn't want you to break a hip."
Zordon glared at Jason, trying his hardest not to smile as Amanda and Dulcea started to laugh. Amanda and Dulcea grabbed Zordon's arms and stood up, pulling him up with them.
Jason stepped back, his grin wide as Zordon moved towards him. He backed up for each step that Zordon took, staying just out of his reach. "Maybe you should lie down for a nap," Jason said, amusement in his voice. "You know, so you can get your strength back."
Zordon stopped moving towards his son, not able to hold the laughter in anymore. He turned to face Amanda, moving towards her and pulling her into a hug. "Remind me never to cross you," he said as he held her tight. "Well done."
Amanda smiled up at him as he pulled back. "I'm sorry, father," she said softly. "But, you were right to bring Jason here. Two more days with him and the guardians working with me, I will be ready for any battle that we will have to face." She reached up and kissed him on the cheek. "Thank you."
Zordon smiled at her, reaching up to cup her cheek. "You're welcome," he said. He watched as Jason walked over to grab his shirt off the ground, pulling it over his head. "I think you and Jason will make a great team."
Dimitira stood outside the power chamber, looking up at the sky. She could feel the evil hanging in the air like a cloud, sending chills down her spine. She turned and headed back into the power chamber, going straight to the communications console and hitting the buttons on it.
Tommy was at the youth center as his communicator beeped. He found a quiet spot and lifted it to his lips.
"Tommy here, Dimitira," he answered. "What's up?"
"Tommy, I need you to gather the rangers and come to the power chamber," Dimitira ordered. "There is trouble brewing. I can feel it."
"We'll be there as soon as we can." Tommy headed back into the youth center, going to round up the rangers.
Dimitira looked at the rangers as they arrived in the power chamber. "Thank you for coming," she stated. "There is an evil in the air. I can feel it. The alliance of evil is planning something. But what it is, I don't know."
Rocky looked at her, frowning. "What do you need us to do?"
Dimitira frowned. "I'm not sure what we can do," she exclaimed. "I just wanted you to be aware of this and be ready to respond. I just have a terrible feeling that things will start to happen, and quickly. You must be ready for anything."
Tommy looked around then turned to face Dimitria. "Where's Jason?"
"He is on Phaedos. Amanda was having trouble with gaining control of her powers and he went there to see if he could help."
Kim looked at Tommy, concern on her face. "Do you think that this has something to do with Jason," she asked.
Tommy shook his head. "I don't know," he answered. "But I think it would be a good idea to keep an eye on him."
The others nodded in agreement.
Jason sat outside the temple, looking into the fire that Zordon had started, deep in thought. He looked up as Amanda came out of the temple, taking a seat next to him.
Amanda put her hand on his arm, waiting until he met her eyes before she spoke. "You look worried," she stated. "Want to talk about it?"
"If I knew what was going on," he started, "we could talk about it. But, even Eric said he doesn't know what is going on. He just knows that they are up to something." He let out a long breath, looking back into the fire. "I hate just having to sit around and wait."
Amanda squeezed his arm, looking at his profile. "I know how you feel," she stated. "I hate it too. But, what can we do? Until they show their hand, no one will be able to stop them."
Jason let his breath out in a long sigh. "We'll just have to keep our guard up," he stated. "Be ready to respond when they decide to strike."
Natalia looked up from her chair as Charlene entered her room, Alphonse following her. She came to her feet at Charlene stopped and glared at her.
"You are going to learn what happens to someone who defies my orders, daughter," Charlene snarled as Alphonse moved around her and approached Natalia. "Take all of the fight out of her, Alphonse. Make sure that she will be ready to fill her part in our plan. I will see how much progress you have made in the morning." She turned and left Natalia's room, not even looking back as Alphonse grabbed Natalia and forced her back onto the bed. She smiled as she closed the door, cutting off Natalia's scream.
A/N: That's all for this chapter. See you next time.
