A/N: Hey, here's a "Many Smiles" for the holidays! As usual, thanks to Smackalicious for being such a great beta!
Kate was making cookies when he came over. It wasn't that she especially wanted cookies, or that she was any good at making them, but it was almost Christmas, and she felt obligated to, among other things, make Christmas cookies. Unfortunately, it was going badly. She was pulling out the first tray of completely burnt cookies when he walked into the room. She was stressed, and rather frustrated, but was embarrassed to feel tears beginning to brim in her eyes. He noticed, and took pity on her.
Kate watched, almost in awe as he first hugged her, and then began to clean up her mess. The faintest trace of Smile Number 50 was on his lips, but instead they were pursed in concentration. Pulling on an apron, he got out a clean bowl and began a new batch of cookies, occasionally asking her where something was, or asking that she pass him something. In about ten minutes, he had a tray in the oven. Kate was impressed; she'd had no idea that he could actually bake. While they were waiting for them to bake, she put on some light Christmas jazz, and they began to dance.
Slowly swaying on the spot, and hand in hand, they spun and twirled in time to the music. She got lost in his eyes as it played on, but the trance was broken by the buzzing of the oven's timer. Tony kissed her lightly on the forehead, and went to take the cookies out.
A few minutes later they were together on her couch, holding mugs of hot chocolate, and munching on Tony's cookies, which were absolutely amazing. A new song began to play, and Tony stood.
"Care to dance?" he asked, holding out a hand to her. She smiled and took it.
"Certainly," she replied, and once again they began to dance, their cookies lying forgotten on a plate. A light snow began to fall outside, setting the mood, and Smile Number 50 lived on.
