Hello there and man has it been some time, I haven't updated this story since last year. Fear not though, for I have returned at last to update this story of mine. I've decided to finally put one of my sleepless nights to use and try to get this chapter going. Last time Onizuka figured out his choice of engagement ring, but it now faced with making his idea a reality with whatever resources he has. Of course he's got the help of Miyabi and Tomoko as well. Let's see how Onizuka finds his way through this scenario!
"D-do you think you could go lower?" Onizuka asked yet again.
Once again he found himself turned away. Apparently a custom design was expensive, especially on short notice. His meager savings may have allowed him to purchase your run of the mill engagement ring, but he couldn't say the same about his conceptual design.
"Don't be sad, sensei. I'm sure we'll figure something out." Tomoko said, patting the man on the shoulder
"Isn't there anyone in this town willing to give a guy a brake? A little human decency goes a long way y'know!"
"You know, you could try selling your precious 'collection' off for some extra cash right. It's not like you'll be needing it anymore." Miyabi suggested.
"Hey I spent years building that. To throw it away now would be nothing short of blasphemy!"
"Plus you want reference material for your fun times with Urumi, you pervert." she accused.
Tomoko blushed, but even she couldn't defend her beloved sensei from such claims. He was loud and proud about his desires.
"T-that's not it! It's just a sentimental thing! You wouldn't understand!"
"Well I hate to say it then, but you're either gonna have to put this idea on the back burner or maybe beg someone for a loan."
"Nah, no one I know has that kinda cash they'd just loan me out. Apparently people think I'm irresponsible with money."
The girls could've stayed the obvious that he has shown time and time again how reckless he is with money, but they gave him a break just this once.
The blonde man suddenly stopped and sighed, "Well, there is one person I could ask, but honestly I don't know if she'll believe me."
The girls waited for an elaboration, but received none.
"Hey, thanks for the help today girls, I think I'll handle this part alone, at least for today. I'll get back to ya' when I clear some things up, ye?"
The two girls bid him farewell and went to hangout together since they were both free.
Onizuka waited not so patiently as the phone dialed, "I paid extra for this so hopefully she picks up."
He heard the phone pick up, but no one said anything, "Uh, hello?" he said.
"Eikichi?" the woman on the other side answered.
"Yeah Ma, it's me."
"What trouble have you gotten yourself into this time?"
"Hey it's not like that. Just wanted to call and see how ya've been."
They both sat in silence a few seconds, "Alright, so I'll just be out with it. I'm getting married and I need to ask for money for an engagement ring." he admitted.
Mrs. Onizuka was stunned, "Excuse me?"
"I'm getting married. I don't know all the specifics yet. It was kind of an unexpected thing and I am near broke at the moment, so I was wondering if you could loan me the cash."
"Eikichi, please tell me you're aren't getting scammed at this age still. I was really hoping you'd grow out of that."
"What? No it's not like that. I'm for real getting married. I just kinda did things out o' order. Y'know it's pretty of me."
She sighed then chuckled, "Well then, that explains the weird package I got in the mail this morning. I was just opening it when you called. It seems you're future bride knows you pretty well."
"Package?" Onizuka questioned.
"Yes. It got here this morning before I left for work. Apparently it was sent as a urgent thing. I thought nothing of it though until just now. It has a letter inside as well as info and pictures of one Kanzaki Urumi. She's a pretty young lady I must say. Seems pretty well off as well. I can't imagine what a young lady like this sees in my hooligan of a son."
"That stings Ma'."
"Eikichi, you've been a handful since the day you were born. I love you because I'm your mother, but we both know you're well...you."
"You have a real nice way of showin' that love."
"Still I know that despite you're rough exterior that you're a good man at heart. One with some incredibly bad vices, but a good man nonetheless."
Onizuka smiled to himself, "Thanks Ma. I mean it. So...about the money..."
"You can have it... but I'm coming back to deliver it personally."
"Wait...you mean you're coming back to Japan?"
"Did you think I'd miss you getting married? This is a one in a million chance and I'm not gonna miss it. Besides, you're new lady apparently is very generous."
"What do you mean?"
"She sent me tickets to come and even says in the letter that she's willing to send me back whenever I'm ready. She also offered up rooms in a nice hotel in case I didn't wanna stay with you."
"Yeah she's loaded, but she's usually not this free with her money. Guess she's going all in on this."
"Interesting. I suppose I'll have to meet her for myself when I get there."
"It'll be good to see ya after so long. You're really doing alright by yourself over there? No one's causing you trouble?"
"Yes, I am fine Eikichi. It's always nice to hear your concern though. I'll talk to you when I get there. The flight is scheduled for sometime next week, so thankfully she gave me some time to make arrangements with work."
"She's usually pretty smart about things. She's got more brains that ten o' me put together."
They said their goodbyes and Onizuka let out a sigh of relief. Well that went smoothly, well as smoothly as things could go for him. Now he was expecting his dear old mother within the next week or so. He'd have to clean his place up and hide his precious collection.
He'd ask how Urumi found out where his mom lived, but he knew she had her ways of finding out anything she wanted to know. Plus her reasoning for doing so wasn't malicious so he'd let it slide this time.
For now though, he was back to square one for some time. He supposed he'd have to either find an alternative source of money or just wait it out. It's not like they had a deadline at the moment.
A thought also occurred to Onizuka after he'd hung up with his mother. What did Urumi's mom think of all this? She knew who he was in at least some capacity as he'd very violently destroyed her life's work once a few years back. Of course it was for Urumi's sake and it did end up helping mend that relationship, but it probably didn't give a very good first impression.
Not to mention he was her daughter's former teacher as well as 8 years her senior. He wasn't sure exactly how well that would go over. Honestly, her mother's approval wasn't high on the list of things he cared about, but he didn't want to become a wedge between them either. Still if she through a fit, he'd stand by Urumi no matter what. He wouldn't break her heart or her trust if he could help it.
"Guess I better talk to her about that then. Maybe we can pick up dinner together tonight and talk some more about this."
Later than night, after a few rounds of video games and a nice nap, he woke to the feeling of something tickeling his nose, he opened his eyes to see a mismatched gaze meeting his.
"Hello there, sleepy head." she greeted.
"That's a nice sight to wake up to."
"I'm glad you think so."
Urumi leaned down to press a kiss to his lips the angle also teasing her bra and cleavage. His face reddened and he filled with glee at the sight. It was nothing compared to the smile she had when she pulled away. It was positively radiant.
"You're in a good mood I see."
"Well I can happily kiss you whenever I like. What's not to be happy about?"
She leaned in for another, these weren't the heated kisses from their previous session, but they were no less affectionate.
"I should be the one telling you that. Not every day a beautiful girl like you goes for an idiot like me."
"Those girls don't know what they're missing."
Onizuka sat up on his couch, stomach growling, "I like compliments as much as the next guy, but I think I would do better with some grub in me. You wanna grab dinner?"
"Are you asking out?" she teased.
"I guess so. Might as well take on a date before we get hitched."
"We've technically been on a date before."
"Well I want one that's not so 'technically' and I bet you do too, right?"
She'd agreed to marry him so if she said no to a date that would be odd. At least in his book. Besides, they hung out often in the past and enjoyed each other's company. Surely they would now.
"No." she replied, face completely serious.
She shot HIM down. This was preposterous.
At the look of shock on his face, she grinned like the little devil she was.
"If you want a yes from me, you need to put more work into it. Give me a good show."
"Oh god, I've signed up for a lifetime of being your personal plaything haven't I."
She giggled and slipped her arms around his neck, "Don't pretend like you didn't know it was part of the deal already. Besides, we both know you love it."
She punctuated that with a soft kiss to his cheek.
Onizuka had his pride as man on the line, but he couldn't deny she had him wrapped around her little finger. Yet, he must've been a masochist because he was just fine with that or perhaps just a smitten fool.
Dinner was fun. They ate at a local roman stall that was pretty empty tonight. They had a spot away from the other patrons that Urumi had reserved in advance.
"Man this looks so good. Nothing hits the spot than a good bowl of ramen."
Urumi ate in a more mannerly way while Onizuka hungrily slurped up his meal.
Onizuka offered up some of his noodles on the end of his chopsticks, "Wanna try mine?"
Urumi smiled and stretched out to accept the noodles, "Mmm. Delicious." she remarked.
He watched her tongue dart out to swipe her bottom lips before retreating back into her mouth. Damn. After their night together he'd never be able to look at some of the stuff she does the same way again.
"So how was your day?" she asked.
Onizuka shrugged, "Alright I guess. Argued with Ryuji and Saejima. Apparently my so called best friends were betting on me staying single or not. Bastards."
Urumi smirked, "Well, you can't exactly blame them. You've generally made some really stupid decisions regarding women. For someone with supposed people smarts you're also really dull in that regard."
"I'm lucky I landed a smart girl like you then to balance out my natural stupidity."
"Don't forget it."
Onizuka took another bite, not quite so sloppily this time, "I also talked to my mom for the first time in a while."
"Oh." Urumi said, but Onizuka could see that look in your eye.
Onizuka set down his chopsticks and kept his hands folded in front of his face, "So what's the deal with this package you sent her."
Urumi set down her own chopsticks, "It was something I've had setup for a while now. It was just a matter of when I thought it best to put everything into action. I thought you agreeing to be with me was a rather appropriate occasion." she explained.
The blonde man nodded, "I know you've got money to blow, but honestly I wasn't expecting something like this. You're flying her in so soon when we've barely been a couple for a day. I didn't think we were expecting wedding bells so anytime soon."
Urumi seemed to think on it momentarily, "I know. I wasn't planning on it. For your sake if nothing else, I could have something ready within a couple weeks if I wanted. I just thought you'd want to talk to her and for her to at least meet me before we move forward." she replied.
"Yeah. That's probably a good idea. It'd probably help this go a lot smoother if she got to get a feel for ya. As long as she doesn't think you're pulling one over on me she'll probably approve. Though she might give me a few dirty looks over the age difference."
Urumi looked confident, "We'll cross that bridge when we come to it. It's not like I particularly care if people judge us for it. I know what I want and that person is you."
He could feel the adoration coming off in waves. He'd known for a long time, but being able to be so open about and him being able to reciprocate made it so much nicer.
'Even if it's mostly me who will be the one getting judged.' Part of him cried internally.
He took her hand, "I appreciate that. I can't imagine what my life would you having my back." he admitted.
"I wonder if you would've made it this far without me being there to be the brains of the operation."
"Hey I wouldn't go that far, but you certainly have made things easier. When you're not being bratty that is."
Urumi giggled, "Calling your girlfriend bratty isn't very nice. It also doesn't reflect well on you O-ni-zu-ka."
The man hand waved it, "Hey now, you who pursued me so relentlessly shouldn't be criticizing my choices."
A soft smile adorned her face, "I'm not complaining. Just teasing you a bit." she told him.
Onizuka scratched his chin, "Y'know...we talked about what to expect regarding my old lady, but what about yours?" he asked, suddenly more serious.
Urumi looked thoughtful for a moment, "Honestly she might have some issues with you, given you're first impression. Not to mention she'd also question you're integrity considering you were once my teacher. I'm not really worried though. She might not approve, but she'll let me make my own choices nowadays. She doesn't want things to go back to how they used to be."
"I just don't wanna cause a rift between you two again if I can help it."
"No worries, my dear Eikichi. I appreciate it though."
Onizuka yawned, "Well, I could go for a drink or two before I head home. Unfortunately for you Missy, you're not old enough to go drinking with me yet."
Urumi pouted, "Leaving so soon. For shame, Onizuka. You let a women buy you dinner then leave her hanging."
"You could always just crash at my place and we can hang out if you're not busy."
"I'd like that."
Onizuka sipped his can of beer, cute blonde curled against his side. She looked very content right now, it was nice.
Urumi had her arms wrapped around his torso, the smile on her face gave the impression she was very pleased.
"If I haven't made it clear by now, it makes me very happy to be close with you like this."
His heart is racing and he's sure she can hear it, "Me too, Urumi-chan. Me too."
A split second passed, before she moved in a flash. In one instance, she was cutely cuddled up to his side and the next she was straddling his lap.
"I admit, this has a different appeal though."
The sly smile on her face as she leaned in to kiss him set his face as his loins ablaze. Hot damn this girl was sexy and she new it.
The kisses were heated, but tame considering the territory they'd covered before. Her hands moved his grip his head and get tangled in his hair. Her tongue danced across his lips, seeking entry.
He was happy to oblige, letting their tongues dance. She could taste the beer he'd been drinking. He crumpled the near empty can of beer and tossed it away, he'd clean up the mess later.
His hands lingered around the edge of her shirt, tracing circles along her lower back just above the band of her skirt.
She pulled away for a second, "I can feel those naughty hands of yours, Sensei."
His smirked, "Can you blame me. You're far too tempting, little vixen that you are."
He gave her bottom a smack. She was pleased that he was engaging so freely now.
"Your touch is so invigorating. You're making me act like a bad girl."
"Oh you are a bad girl. Don't go blaming that on me."
"You certainly don't seem to mind."
"Not at all. In fact, I'm quite enjoying it."
She leaned into to nibble on his ear, but then settled in and abruptly stopped.
"Hey, Urumi-chan. You alright?"
It was then that he heard the soft snoring in his ear.
"If you were tired, you should have said so you foolish girl." he said softly.
Then the despair kicked in, "Especially before you decided to blue ball me big time." he cried to himself.
Urumi slept soundly, satisfied smile on her face.
Yo, it's been far too long. Once again time got away from me. I said I wouldn't take so long next time and I failed to keep my word on that. Unfortunately, it's just hard to get myself to sit down and write. I worked on this bit by bit on a couple late nights a month or two ago and finally came back to finish it in March. Sorry you guys had to wait so long for something so short, but hopefully it's better than nothing at all. I really appreciate those of you who have reviewed so far. Hopefully you're still around. I'd say hopefully the next chapter will be quicker, but it probably won't be. See ya'll next time around.
