The next morning Madara woke up and showered, she then thought she would try something different. She tried brushing her hair but with her hair being so unruly she just gave up. She then walked over to her closet and picked out a bra that fit her. She then picked out a red long-sleeved shirt that had the Uchiha crest on the back but it was a man's shirt so it was a little baggy on her, and then blue pants that were a little tight to contrast her shirt. She then walked over to her shelf and opened a small black box, the contents of the box were a pair of black and red earrings, her mother and father's wedding rings, a brooch with the Uchiha clan symbol, and a rock with the word 'run' on it. She grabbed the brooch and placed it under her shirt.
Once Madara was ready it was already eight o'clock in the morning, she opened her bedroom door to see a line outside the main bathroom. Tayuya was waiting at the front of the line, Hikaku behind her, and Izuna just standing there talking to Hikaku.
Madara snickered, "How long has this line been held up for?"
Izuna answered, "Well someone went in there thirty minutes ago, Tayuya has been sitting here for about twenty minutes, and Hikaku just woke up and wants to get his first shower in seven years."
Madara chuckled knocking on the door, "Obito, you cannot hog the bathroom all day."
There was no reply except for the sound of the already ongoing shower.
The sound of a door opening behind them drew their attention away from the bathroom, it was a sleepy fully dressed Obito slugging her way through the line and into the kitchen. Everyone stared at her questioning who was in the bathroom and why for so long.
The sound of the shower turned off and the immediate sound of the sink running, a can of what sounded like whipped cream, and after three minutes there was the sound of hair being brushed.
The culprit hogging the bathroom revealed themself as Hashirama. He exited the bathroom with a greeting, "Hello there, I didn't expect anyone to be awake." He at least put on his pants before opening the door. Though he still had some minor white cream near his ear.
Everyone sighed while Tayuya pushed her way around the First Hokage and into the bathroom, closing the door. Hashirama looked confused, "What's her rush?"
Madara sighed as she walked away, "Idiocy is bliss."
Hashirama noticed Madara was different today, she had a different air about her today.
"She's definitely different, that's for sure," Hikaku said.
Hashirama smiled, "No. She just started being honest with herself. And I have too."
Izuna laughed, "Yeah." He then stretched himself a bit, "I wonder what's on the agenda for today, I want to do something fun."
Obito sighed looking into the fridge and noticed Madara walk on by, "Hey, Oba! Your fridge is empty, and there's no power, yet the plumbing works. How?"
Madara shrugged, "Who needs electricity when you can use candles? And besides, the radio still works."
"The radio uses batteries, it's not a plug-in."
"Tomato, potato." Madara swiped her hand down.
"That's not a saying, the saying is tomato tamato. If anything you just made your argument worse."
Madara scoffed, "It does not matter, we are leaving anyway. It can be dealt with later."
"But I'm hungry, I need food now."
"Oh, grow up. I am sure if you visit your lover, Kakashi, he would surely buy you some food if you asked."
Hashirama was putting on a brown shirt as he walked by the kitchen, "Hey that's a great idea, let's go meet up with Kakashi."
Obito sighed, "I guess I'll meet you there." She then swirled her Kamui and began sucking herself away, but not before Izuna jumped in with her.
Hashirama scratched the back of his head, "Umm, that happened I guess. What now?"
Madara cleared her throat, "We will wait for Tayuya to be ready, then we will reunite with the others."
"Alright, then. So while we're waiting can I ask you what's going on? You seem different."
She didn't seem surprised by his question, "I thought I might try stirring the pot as the young folk say. Why, do you not like me acting differently?"
"Oh no. I think you are lovely no matter how you act. But I wouldn't want you to change because of someone, 'cause then it would be disingenuous to your character." Hashirama replied.
Madara smiled, "Do not worry, I just want to act less intimidating for the people of the village. I should know since I have some experience with it."
"If that's what you wish I'll support it."
The two shared an awkward look before Tayuya walked out of the bathroom fully dressed in a green short-sleeved shirt and brown shorts with her hair done up into two buns, Hashirama thought she looked like Mito. Tayuya felt weird with the First Hokage staring at her, "What're ya staring at, schmuck?"
Hashirama chuckled lightly, "You just look like someone I knew."
"Well don't stare, ya schmuck," Tayuya said as she opened the front door.
Madara laughed, "She almost reminds me of someone as well, just a little unrefined. I cannot quite think of who though." She held a finger in her chin.
Hashirama's sweat dropped, "Yeah, I really wonder."
Madara turned to him, "What is that supposed to mean?"
"It's nothing. Let's just get going." He followed after Tayuya.
Madara was now contemplating, "What did he mean?"
Madara's devil popped up and began punching her fists together, "Maybe we could punch him until he coughs it up."
"Or ..." Madara's angel showed up, "You could simply ask him, cause our deductive reasoning is less than satisfactory. And why would he lie about it?"
Madara shook her head, "I hate you both because I know it is morally wrong to hit him without reason, but I oh so desperately want to." She put both feet out the door and closed her front door.
Hikaku finished getting himself ready and he walked out into the living, he looked around for a moment holding his jacket, "Where has everybody gone, bingo?"
As Obito teleported using Kamui her grandfather jumped into her and they were thrown around when she finished transporting them. They were transported into a bare room with nothing but a bedroll, Izuna was thrown into a wall while Obito was thrown onto a bedroll.
The loud sound of Izuna being tossed into the wall caused someone to investigate, a white-haired man with no shirt and wearing a mask held a cup of coffee. He sighed, "Should I even ask what's going on?"
Izuna got up first feeling no pain and all, "Ask my granddaughter over there. She's the one that teleported us here."
Kakashi looked to Obito, "Granddaughter, huh? That's new."
Obito sat up using her hands, "Yeah, I'm the great-granddaughter of Izuna Uchiha. It can't be any different than finding out you're the great-grandson of the second Hokage."
Kakashi nodded, "So what's with the sudden visit?"
"There's a celebration today, my... Aunt is going to be there. Will you come with us?"
Kakashi put his hand on his chin, "Well I could join you, but I already promised I'd go meet Minato-Sensei, Itachi, and Naruto for breakfast, you could join me before this festival."
Obito sighed, "Fine. It's not like I've got much of a choice."
"Well then give me a moment to get dressed, so if you'll leave my room please," Kakashi said kicking both of them out into the living room of his apartment.
Obito looked around her friend's apartment for any meaningful things, she saw a stand next to the window with two photos, one with Kakashi and his students, and the other with Kakashi, Rin, and herself as genin with Minato-Sensei. Just seeing Rin's smile again made Obito feel like crying about her best friend again.
Izuna saw how Obito's body posture changed when looking at the picture, "Is that you?" He asked.
"It was taken when I was twelve, I was so happy and innocent then." She replied as if she was somewhere else.
"Why with the goggles though? It almost seems like you were hiding something."
Obito chuckled to herself, "It's because I was trying to hide whenever I cried, 'cause I was always known as the crybaby."
Then Kakashi walked out wearing a long-sleeved black shirt with the Uzumaki crest on his shoulder, "I think we'll stop by the academy later, I need another flak jacket."
Izuna scratched his chin, "What's with the mask? It's a little odd, do you have some sort of skin condition or something?"
"No, I just haven't shown my face to anyone since my dad killed himself when I was seven. After a while, it just became who I am, and it's more of instinct than anything to put it on every day."
Izuna didn't know what to say, "Umm. Neat?"
Kakashi walked past them and opened the door, "Come on, let's go."
The walk to breakfast was silent, Izuna was still just baffled at how society had truly changed since his death.
"If you take a picture it'll last longer," Kakashi said.
Izuna was still looking around, "It's still weird knowing my sister and that fool made this place."
Obito chuckled, "I wonder if he'll disappear when he figures out what a JPEG is." Kakashi and Obito both laughed.
Izuna looked to Obito confused, "What's a jpeg?" They continued to laugh, "No seriously, what's a jpeg?"
They walked up to a ramen shop. Kakashi opened the flap for Obito, "Ladies first." He smiled from underneath his mask.
Obito gave him a faint smile before entering and then trying to trip Kakashi with her feet, "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't see you there. My depth perception has always been lacking."
Kakashi sat down at a table that was large enough for twelve people, he was in the middle. Obito sat across from him and Izuna next to her, the reanimation smiled looking forward to breakfast, "Sooo. Breakfast, the most important meal of the day. I wonder what I'll get?" He asked himself.
"Sorry to burst your bubble but you won't be able to taste anything, you don't get that luxury when you're dead. Sorry." Kakashi shrugged his shoulders.
Izuna slumped his shoulders and hung his head, "I just wanted to drink some sake, I never got to in life."
Obito rubbed her grandfather's back, "There there. I've never drunk sake before, it's not that big of a deal."
"Easy for you to say, you've still got the choice to drink it or not," Izuna said.
Kakashi shrugged his shoulders, "I can say that sake is alright, I still prefer drinking water though."
Just then Minato walked in with Naruto, Jiraiya, and Tsunade. "Hey, Kakashi-sensei!" Naruto waved to him.
Obito still felt the guilt of killing Kushina and inadvertently killing Naruto, she was lucky that Madara used Orochimaru to use Rinne Rebirth.
Kakashi noticed the guilt in her eyes and decided to try to soothe her, "Hey Naruto. I'd like you to meet someone."
Naruto's face almost seemed scared as he recognized the woman. Obito didn't blame him, she did try to kill him after all.
"This is Obito Uchiha, my friend, and your dad's student just like me."
Minato sat down next to Obito and he had a smile on his face seeing his students together again, and even though Obito tried killing him he was still happy to see that the old Obito was still in that blackened abyss, she just needed someone else to carry her hope.
"It's good to see you back with us, Obito. I just wish Kushina and Rin could be here with us."
Both Kakashi and Obito looked down in regret, Minato knew that it probably wasn't the best thing to say but he always saw these two as his surrogate children and wanted the best for them. "Obito, what caused the change of heart?"
Obito seemed somewhat flustered, "Well, I guess having Kakashi break the seal on my heart. It forced me to do things I didn't want to do and suppressed my emotions just to complete the infinite Tsukuyomi. I felt like I was shattered into pieces after Rin's death like a veil was covered over a mirror and what was left listened to Madara's voice in the back of my head. It was maddening, but I hoped Kakashi would get rid of it. But I was still fractured until he showed me a memory of his. It was when we were young, it was after one of the many arduous D-ranked missions we did, he felt so embarrassed when I jumped on top of him for being such a cold-hearted bastard, he was even more embarrassed when he switched to being on top. Then he ran home like a scared little puppy, even Lord Second was laughing about it. And then he showed me another memory with you, Minato-Sensei. It was after lunch at this very place that he asked to speak with you to remove him from our team."
Kakashi held both of his eyes in embarrassment, "You don't have to tell everyone about that, it's private."
Minato laughed, "Oh, I remember now. Kakashi did say that he liked you, then I told him to hold off on his emotions until he was sixteen." He turned a little solemn, "I sometimes wonder if that was bad advice, like what if Kakashi had told you how he felt before kanabi bridge."
Obito put her right hand which was gloved to hide her Zetsu-based arm, "It's alright, sensei. Maybe it was fate that you didn't, 'cause the seal on my heart still wouldn't have prevented me from doing anything."
Minato agreed, "Maybe you're right, but still."
Jiraiya slapped his hand onto Minato's shoulder as he sat down, "Don't be such a downer, you've got everyone you need right here. Kushina and Rin are probably watching from up above seeing that you're still moping. Relax your mind a little bit, you desperately need it."
Naruto finished sitting down next to Tsunade and started staring at the menu. Minato sighed and looked at Kakashi, "Did you give him this ramen addiction?"
Kakashi shrugged, "I blame that on Lord Third."
Minato nodded, as Tsunade and Jiraiya looked at the menu. Tsunade looked to her nephew, "Hey, Kakashi. Who's your friend?"
Kakashi sighed, "Aunt Tsuna, please don't."
Tsunade laughed playfully, "What? I want to be aquatinted with her. Who knows, she could be family soon for all I know."
Kakashi's face lit up like a habanero, "Aunt Tsuna, you don't have to be so invasive."
Obito laughed at Kakashi's suffering, "I'm Obito Uchiha. And you might be right, me and Kakashi could be more than friends in the future." She gave a small smile causing Kakashi to sigh yet again.
Just then Kakashi heard the loudest boasting laugh ever, "Hahahaha. Oh, Madara, you're still as funny as ever." It was almost nervous.
The second voice was ever annoyed, "What was? I said no such joke, I just spoke my mind."
Hashirama laughed nervously as he pushed Madara into the ramen shop, he sighed as Madara turned around annoyed. "Why did you push me in here? It only sells cheap noodles and soup."
Tayuya then stepped halfway through the flap, "Thanks for nothing ya hag!" Tayuya yelled down the street before joining her master and the First Hokage.
Hashirama laughed nervously again and noticed Kakashi out of the corner of his eye, he walked on over and sat down next to Kakashi. "I didn't know you'd be here." He then leaned into Kakashi's ear, "Please help, Madara's hungry."
Kakashi sighed, "Alright, you guys can join in."
Hashirama mouthed, "Thank you." As he sat down next to Kakashi.
Hashirama was prepared to turn to Madara sitting next to him and not the firey little teenager with a flute, she noticed him staring at her again, "Stare at me one more time and I'll make it so your body feels like it's melting!"
Hashirama looked to Madara who was sitting across from him and on the other side of Obito. She sat in her chair straightly, posh even. Just staring into her menu.
"Madara. Your student's scaring me again."
Madara continued staring at her menu, "Do not provoke her, anything she does afterward is your fault."
Hashirama sighed and then picked up the menu, he noticed they had more items on the menu than the last time he was in here.
And the group suddenly got bigger as Itachi and Sasuke walked in, Itachi bowed, "Sorry we're late, Sasuke took forever to get ready."
Kakashi looked up from his menu because he thought he misheard, he was unprepared to see his other student whom he saw perish.
Naruto dropped his menu at the name, he thought he saw a ghost.
Sasuke noticed Naruto and smiled, "It's nice to see you again, ya loser." She said playfully.
Naruto smiled back, "You're alive! How?"
Madara coughed, "Ahem."
Sasuke laughed, "Let's just say that it was divine intervention."
Madara smiled as she looked into her menu and decided what she wanted for breakfast, but she also felt warm and fuzzy inside knowing that Sasuke's friends and family were happy to see her.
Teuchi, the owner of the ramen shop walked up to the table, "Greetings, Lord Fourth, Master Jiraiya, Lady Tsunade, Kakashi, Naruto, and Lord First. It has been some time since I've seen some of you, and others are new here. I am ready to take your orders when you're ready." He bowed and then pulled out a notepad and pen.
The breakfast table was loud, messy, and disorganized with how everyone was having their own conversations and eating. Madara looked at everyone sitting at the table, she had never had an experience like this. And it wasn't just her, not a single person at the table really had this experience nor had a true group to call family. Everyone either had one family member or none, there was no in-between. This is what Madara wished she had growing up, but now she wouldn't have it any other way.
Once all the food was eaten there was a look between Kakashi and Tsunade, Kakashi spoke first, "Are you gonna get that?"
"I thought you were."
"I mean you're right, one of the few people who managed to end the fourth great ninja war should pay for his first meal back." He put his left hand into his back pocket.
"Wait. You're right, it wouldn't be right." She took the bill from Teuchi and sighed at the amount. "Go. I'll catch up later."
Kakashi smiled, "Thank you, Aunt Tsuna."
It was roughly ten forty-five in the morning when breakfast was over.
Madara squinted as her eyes adjusted to the sunlight, it was so bright compared to earlier. She was so used to the darkness that the light was all so foreign. She turned to Hashirama as they were leaving and saw him laughing about something with Jiraiya and Tsunade.
Hashirama seemed just as happy as Madara did about a jolly morning as such, she looked up at the Hokage mountain and folded her arms, "Hashirama, your face did not age well."
He turned away from his conversation to look at Madara looking upward, "Oh, that..."
He walked up next to her, "It seemed like a revolutionary idea at the time, but the more I look at it the more I realize how poorly the sculptors were at the time."
Madara smirked, "It was never a good idea, a portrait or a photo in the Hokage office would have been a better choice. Though the mountain sculpture does distort one's face, and that can be charming I suppose."
Kakashi shrugged and put his hands up, "Well at least Minato-Sensei's face is more accurate. Though he's a little old now."
Everyone laughed and Minato sighed, "I'm only forty now, I'm not that old."
Naruto smiled at his dad, "You still look like a good Hokage to me, dad."
Minato laughed, "Thanks, Naruto. At least someone is still positive around here." He looked at Kakashi to see what his reaction would be but Kakashi wasn't even bothered.
Hashirama looked down the street and noticed the fourth great ninja war victory festival was fully set up, "Hey look. Your festival seems to be ready, Mara."
She wasn't too happy with him calling her that in public, especially after she was the catalyst of starting a war. "Yes, Hashirama. Your eyes seem to be working well after all."
Obito thought she would defend the poor first Hokage, "Oh come on, Ōoba. He's trying his best to get on your good side if you had one that is."
"Hmph." Madara glared at Obito and then gave it up, "Let us see what there is to do." She walked on ahead while everyone gave a confused look before following her.
Madara walked up to a booth that had semi-inflated balloons lined up on a wall, with stuffed bears, dogs, cats, and monkeys on shelves above them. A man stood in the booth and smiled at Madara, "Care to test your aim? If you manage to pop three balloons you get a prize."
Madara noticed that everyone followed her, "Do I require any money to do so?" She asked the booth owner.
Hashirama walked up to her and put his arm around her left shoulder and neck, "Oh come on, Mara, you don't have to be so blunt."
The booth owner bowed, "Lord First! If this woman is with you then you may play for free. After all, it's thanks to you that my daughter returned home to me."
Hashirama was pleasantly surprised, "I'm sorry your daughter had to be in the war in the first place. I humbly appreciate your generosity, I have no money anyways since I haven't been paid because I was a reanimation."
Madara still felt the guilt of the fourth war, but she would move past it. After all, she's Madara Uchiha, there isn't anything she can't deal with. "How about a competition, Hashirama?" She looked to the booth owner, "Would that be alright? Each of us gets three darts and whoever pops more balloons wins."
He nodded, "Of course, Miss. Anything for a Hokage and his company." He held out his hand with three darts which Madara grabbed.
She focused her aim on a yellow balloon, she imagined Black Zetsu's face on the balloon. A loud pop rang out in the area and the yellow balloon was no more. She handed Hashirama a dart, "Your turn, Senju." She said playfully and with a smile.
He chuckled nervously and aimed at a blue balloon, he worried he might throw the dart hard enough for it to go through the wall. He lessened his strength just enough to hit the balloon for it to pop. He smiled at Madara, "Piece of cake."
Madara began prepping for her next balloon, a green balloon. She thought she might up the ante so she threw the dart and used a minute fraction of the deva path to make sure the balloon popped. "All too easy." She turned to Hashirama with a smug expression.
Obito looked around noticing how big their group was, "Hey. Why don't we split up into groups to cover more ground for this festival? Don't want these two to one-up each other at everything we stop at."
Minato agreed, "Yeah, I'll go with Naruto, Jiraiya-sensei, and Lady Tsunade. We'll meet up later." His group began walking away.
Itachi spoke up, "Me and Sasuke wanted to enjoy the sights alone. We'll meet you guys when the band starts playing later." Itachi bowed to Hashirama and Madara before walking away with his sister.
Kakashi looked around noticing that the group got significantly smaller, he then looked to Obito, "I suppose we'll leave too." He then looked at Hashirama, "See you later uncle."
Obito grabbed a hold of Kakashi's arm, "You too, Ōoba." The two then walked off leaving Hashirama and Madara with Tayuya and Izuna.
Izuna thought he would go with his descendant but then again, he wanted to be with his sister in this environment. And he also felt that the flutist would feel like a third-wheel tagalong and he didn't want her to feel like that.
Hashirama aimed at a purple balloon and used a minute amount of wind chakra to propel it forth as he sensed Madara use a Jutsu herself, and the balloon popped. "Seems our balloon-killing skills are quite remarkable."
"It is easy to kill something that is not alive, to begin with," wasn't amused by Hashirama's poor joke. She aimed for a blue balloon that was a little bit too high for her height, but she had trust as her dart glided through the air almost like it was being held and it hit its mark with a pop. "Only one more shot, Hashirama, you would be best not to miss."
He readied his dart after being handed one, he thought he would manifest some sage chakra into folding around the dart. He threw it and it missed the balloon. He thought he imagined it but it was off by a meter, he laughed it off. "It seems you won, Madara. Guess I'll have to practice my aim more."
"I suppose I deserve a reward for my victory. Dango, I would like dango." Madara said.
Hashirama smiled, "I'll go ask Kakashi for some money. I'll be back soon." He then walked away to find his nephew.
"You used your Mangekyou, didn't you?" Izuna asked.
Madara closed her eyes and smirked, "It seems you noticed, your perception is astute as always, little brother."
Tayuya seemed confused, "But the first Hokage barely missed the balloon, there was no time for Madara-sensei to mess with the dart."
"So what was the ability you just used? Obviously not your normal Mangekyou ability to reverse time and it's not any of your Rinnegan abilities." Izuna asked.
Madara opened her eyes again and pointed to her left eye which was already that of the Mangekyou, "I gained a new ability after my most recent battle with Hashirama. My right eye could reverse time for eight seconds and now my left eye can slow time for eight seconds."
Izuna just laughed, "So your emotional turmoil resulted in two things that morning."
His laughing was put to a stop when Madara slashed her hand through his face.
The balloon booth owner cleared his throat, "Um Miss..." Madara's attention was now on him with her Sharingan now deactivated. "Which prize would you like?"
She looked at the shelf and saw a brown, white, and black cat plushie. "The feline one if you please." He listened to her and reached up for it and then handed it to her. "Thank you, sir. Have a pleasant day." She said to him before walking away with her student and brother.
Several hours later now at six thirty at night, Madara, Hashirama, and Tayuya ate dango along with Kakashi, Obito, Itachi, and Sasuke on a veranda outside the dango shop. Izuna just watched and foamed at the mouth.
The eight just noticed that a band just walked up on the makeshift stage for the festival. Kakashi had never cared for music but he was curious about what this band would play.
The stage already had a piano and a drum set. The band walked on stage carrying instruments, a guitar, a bass, and an electric keyboard. A woman with brown hair walked on stage behind them, cheers and screams could be heard when the woman walked on stage. She must've been an icon to the younger generation. "Hello, Konohagakure!" She said into a microphone in the middle of the stage. "I want to say thank you to all Shinobi who fought in the fourth great ninja war, if it weren't for you then none of us wouldn't be standing here now. And thank you to the first Hokage, the once and always protector of Konohagakure."
The guitarist began strumming his guitar fast and the singer began singing her lyrics.
"Up in the sky down wind, another light goes dim.
And I know it's him.
Reigning like a storm again deep inside me.
Light up my life, find my shadow wandering in my mind.
Now all the threads will unwind.
When all the stars are aligned and I need.
Time to break all the mirrors.
But my mind is in pieces and not ready to make it clearer.
Upon a time, down in a little room made just for me. I heard them whispering my name. And taking you away!
Pain isn't the only gift I'll give you slowly but I'll give it wholly and solely to you."
The guitarist began a sole to which the whole crowd roared in excitement.
"I've come to find mind and matter wandering without time.
Then all the flowers combined with all the souls that went blind to see again.
Time to make it all clearer.
And if time never ceases I'll be ready to break the mirror.
Drawn in a line, sharp edges in the dark made just for me.
I hear them waking the profane.
And slithering in pain and withering away!
Death isn't the only gift I've given slowly, but I'll give it wholly and solely and only to you.
I glow in moonlight.
You fall like rain, (you fall like rain).
We'll take the ever after.
And turn it into pain.
Your pain is the one thing that I feel inside me.
That I have been hiding inside me for you.
Your death is the singing, I hear when I'm dreaming.
And the bell I'll be ringing when I sing for you.
Pain isn't the only gift I'll give you slowly, but I give it wholly and solely to...
You."
The crowd roared with applause and screams, including Hashirama, Kakashi, Obito, Tayuya, Izuna, Sasuke, and Itachi.
Madara found herself confused by the lyrics, why would you want to give pain as a gift? She whispered to Tayuya, "What type of music was that?"
"That's rock music, it's more metallic than pop music. It's more about the guitar and drums than the lyrics and vocals. But vocals can make or break a song" She replied.
Madara then started listening to what the singer was saying next, "That song was a little on the intense side so let's go with a more upbeat song this time." She then nodded to the keyboarder.
The keyboarder began playing an electronic rhythm and the bassist joined in.
"Sometimes I feel like I've got to..." The crowd echoed the next line, "Run away."
"I've got to..."
"Get away." The crowd echoed again.
Hashirama was pretty excited by the song he stood up, "Come on, Madara. Let's dance." Madara sighed, "Hashirama, I do not think that is-" she was cut off by Hashirama dragging her to her feet.
Hashirama began moving his arms and legs in many different ways, he considered it dancing.
Madara began laughing, "Oh Hashirama, your dance moves have not gotten any better."
Hashirama laughed back, "And yours have? Come on Uchiha-Hime, you think you can do any better."
Madara's face lit up but she couldn't swallow defeat for her pride, "Maybe not. However, maybe I have a trick up my sleeve."
Hashirama smiled, "Oh, is that so? Well, let's see. But you know... back in the forest before Tobi showed up, that we were going to have one final dance?"
"I did say that, but it meant our battle before Tobirama intervened. You did tell me a dance was like a battle, and I guess I took it to heart. Hope you can keep up with me, Hashirama." She twirled around Hashirama like a tornado, a swirl of red was what everyone else saw, except for Hashirama. He saw her smiling face, her midnight hair flowing. And he... just froze. Her beauty was so extravagant tonight that he forgot about everything that happened after Madara announced herself as a rogue Shinobi. It made him happy that his friend was truly back with him. But as he thought about it he started sweating because she wasn't just his friend, he admitted that he loved her and now that she admitted that she loved him it was almost too good to be true.
The music was in sync with Madara's movements as she dipped and bobbed her body with the bass, drums, and keyboard. The more Hashirama watched the more he recognized her movements as her frenetic fighting style, it made him chuckle.
The song came to a close and Madara finished dancing by twirling on her back and using her feet to keep her momentum to keep spinning. Most of the bystanders started cheering her on as she kept going.
When the song finished and she jumped to her feet there was an applause just for her. She seemed startled by the excitement but she bowed and returned to her seat back with the rest of the group. Hashirama had already sat down because he couldn't compete in dancing.
The band began playing a slow song and Obito dragged Kakashi to his feet, "C'mon, Bakakashi. Show me how you can be romantic." Kakashi sighed as Obito continued to drag him.
Hashirama and Madara laughed as the two walked onto the dance floor, Hashirama thought it was funny seeing his shy nephew be pushed around by Obito. But as he saw them leave he noticed his student, Naruto. Naruto looked tense, maybe even scared. He was heading their way.
Naruto walked up to Tayuya, "Hey, wou-would you like to dance?" His voice was layered with nervousness.
Tayuya seemed surprised by this, "Um, why would you ask me? There are plenty of other girls that would be more than willing."
Naruto shrugged, "I don't know. You just seemed lonely, and I thought I'd cheer you up."
Tayuya snorted, "I don't need your pity. I'm perfectly fine sitting here with my master and..."
Madara cut her off, "Tayuya. I recommend you take the boy's offer. I mean, you would not want to sit next to Izuna all night? He can be very talkative."
Izuna nodded, "I have plenty of stories to tell, some even include my sister's embarrassment."
Tayuya looked back at Naruto and sighed, "You better make it worth my time, Blondie."
Naruto smiled and chuckled, "I'll try not to." He extended his hand to Tayuya so she could get up easier, she accepted it and they ran off into the dancing crowd.
Next up an older woman walked up to Izuna with a dumpling in her mouth, "You wanna dance, pretty boy?"
Izuna was so flustered and startled, "Ar-Are you talking to me?"
The mature woman smiled, "Well who else, hot stuff?"
Izuna looked at his sister with pleading eyes, "Ummm...?" Madara shrugged at her brother.
Izuna looked back at the mature woman, "I..."
The mature woman dragged Izuna to his feet, "I won't take no for an answer."
Izuna started panicking, "Madara...!" He said before being dragged to the dance floor.
Itachi laughed before he noticed he had a line of girls waiting to dance with him. He sighed, "I'll give every girl three minutes to dance. I don't want to break any hearts." Itachi was then dragged to the dance floor.
Sasuke laughed as her older brother was a chick magnet. Neji walked up to his girlfriend who he was once dead, "What do you think is better for dancing, the Byakugan or the Sharingan?"
Sasuke laughed, "Is that your way of asking me to a dance."
"Was it that obvious?" The two shared a chuckle before they shared a dance.
Now it was just Hashirama and Madara sitting at the outdoor table. Madara was the one who took the initiative this time, she stood up and grabbed Hashirama's right hand, "Oh, Hokage-sama. Will you share this dance with me?" She dramatized her words and batted her eyes like a dame.
His cheeks lit up red, "Oh umm, yes?"
Madara smiled as she yanked him to his feet and let him go. Hashirama was unprepared for the sudden movement and almost fell face-first into the wooden floor but was held up by a skeletal blue hand holding his chest. Madara continued to smile, "Always so clumsy. Honestly, it is a miracle that you have done anything without me." She pulled him back to level and Hashirama was unprepared to be face to face with Madara and her Mangekyou Sharingan.
He adjusted his posture as Madara guided his hands to her waist, he was nervous as the last time they danced was before their fight in the Valley Of The End.
Feeling his nervousness Madara thought she wouldn't tease him, for now at least. She placed her hands on Hashirama's shoulders and gazed into his eyes as they danced to the music.
The sun had officially set over Konohagakure as couples danced through four slow songs. Some murmured to each other, some kissed and shared affection, but then there was Hashirama and Madara. They hadn't said a word since they started dancing, just enjoying each other's embrace and company.
Madara found something funny though, Tayuya had returned home after her dance with Naruto, and she seemed very embarrassed. And then after Izuna's first dance he was asked to dance by many other girls, and he compared himself to a used napkin, Itachi felt much of the same. Izuna thought he would take a break from the festival, he'd had enough of modern interaction for the day.
After the band said their goodbyes they requested one last thing, "We had a great time here tonight, people of Konoha. We hope you did too. But right now we've got to get going. However, before we leave we wanted to give a gift to the First Hokage." The drummer left and came back with a black case.
Hashirama walked up on stage and shook each member of the band's hand, the drummer opened the case to reveal a scroll that seemed very old. Hashirama was curious but he held his curiosity for later, for now, he accepted the gift and bowed to the band.
Hashirama was about to step off the stage before the singer asked, "Lord First. I, and I'm assuming everyone else as well, am wondering who the lucky lady you were dancing with is?"
Hashirama blushed, "Oh, that's my friend, Madara. But we're just friends, we're not dating or anything." He replied bashfully.
The singer was caught off guard, "The Madara? She was the one you were dancing with?"
Hashirama rubbed the back of his head and smiled, "Yeah, we've danced before quite a long time ago during Halloween. But this time there was just something special about it, y'know." Hashirama felt like he'd taken up enough of the band's time. "Thank you, guys, for playing tonight, I feel like everyone could always go for some music."
Madara hid her face behind her sleeve in embarrassment. "Why does he have to be so honest?" She thought.
The singer returned back to a smile, "Well, then let's give a round of applause for the two founders of Konohagakure and whatever magic that brought them back." She, the band, and the crowd gave a polite applause to both of them.
Hashirama bowed while Madara just smiled trying her best to keep calm in a crowd setting. Hashirama returned to his seat and Madara gave him a death stare, to which Hashirama chuckled nervously.
After ten o'clock, Hashirama saw that alcoholic drinks were being served. "Mara, look. Drinks." He pointed out to Madara.
She sighed, "If I recall, the last time we drank together Tobirama found you passed out on your way home."
Hashirama chuckled, "I guess I don't remember getting in bed that night."
Madara hummed, "If you wish to drink, why not make it interesting? We play a game of poker, and instead of poker chips, we use shots. The victor is the one who drank the least."
Hashirama smiled, "Are you ready to drink then, Mara?"
Madara snickered, "Oh, you best be ready to eat those words, Senju."
At the request of Hashirama, a table was quickly set up with two chairs, and a shopkeeper was willing to lend a deck of cards. Kakashi was willing to be the dealer, but he asked that no ninjutsu of any kind be used. Two drinks were laid on the table and Kakashi threw two cards to each of them.
Madara looked at her cards to be the ace of clubs and the seven of hearts, it wasn't ideal but she could manage. She waited for Kakashi to show the three cards, which he did. He revealed a six of diamonds, four of spades, and a ten of hearts. Madara was less than happy about it but her face was stoic as ever, she looked at Hashirama who was smiling like an idiot. Something didn't quite feel right about it this time, she was left uneasy.
Kakashi placed the next card, a nine of clubs. Hashirama looked at his cards and then at Madara, "You seem to be silent, why is that?"
Madara was somewhat annoyed, "Poker is a game of mental warfare, my opponent cannot expect what I have when there is nothing to be said."
Kakashi placed the final card, a five of hearts. Madara knew her hand was useless but looked to see Hashirama's reaction, Hashirama had a look of panic and then straightened his face to feign confidence.
"Show me your cards," Kakashi asked. Madara threw her's down with an air of irritation, she awaited Hashirama's poor hand. Hashirama laid his two cards down, a seven of spades and an eight of diamonds. Kakashi was surprised with Hashirama's hand, "I guess my uncle wins with a flush."
Hashirama was shocked, he won and he didn't even remember how to play. He watched as a slightly annoyed Madara began to chug her drink, Hashirama thought it was called vodka. Madara felt like her throat was on fire, she hadn't drunk alcohol in a long time but she didn't expect it to taste so bitter. Madara waved, "Another round, I will not admit defeat to Hashirama."
Obito chuckled in the background, "This is gonna go all night."
Hashirama was worried, "Umm, Madara, I don't want you to overdo it. We can stop at any time."
Madara snarled, "You think my alcohol intake is that low? Nonsense, I will prove my superiority when it comes to drinking." She looked to Kakashi, "Another round, now!"
Kakashi sighed to himself, "Women are so demanding."
Half an hour later, Madara's luck had been so bad that she had not won one single round out of the nine games they'd played, she was a total mess because she couldn't swallow her pride.
Hashirama felt so guilty at watching her drown herself in alcohol, he didn't even know how to properly play.
Kakashi handed Madara her two cards, she barely looked at them because of how drunk she was. Hashirama wanted Madara to win so badly but he couldn't come up with anything, but luckily he didn't have to. Obito decided to cut her great aunt some slack, she stood in the crowd and used her Sharingan to get a closer look at Madara's cards, a jack of diamonds, and a four of clubs. Obito signed four of clubs and a jack of diamonds, it took Hashirama a minute to understand her. Kakashi revealed three cards to be a king of spades, a queen of hearts, and a four of diamonds. Hashirama panicked because he had a four of hearts and a king of diamonds.
Madara blew a raspberry knowing that whatever cards she had, Hashirama would have better ones. Her mind had no more blocks, her words were as blunt and heavy as a sledgehammer. If she continued drinking she might cling onto Hashirama in front of half of the village, embarrassing her in the eyes of the village.
Kakashi placed down the fourth card, a jack of spades. Hashirama sighed in relief, thinking that Madara had a chance to win, but he still didn't understand the reasons for winning.
Kakashi placed the fifth and final card, a king of clubs. Madara threw her cards down without a second thought, she had entirely given up. Hashirama placed his cards down and Kakashi announced Hashirama as the winner... Again. Madara took her tenth drink and announced, "I w-will not except deffff..." Madara couldn't finish her sentence before falling out of her chair, she had passed out.
Hashirama stood up from his chair and looked at the crowd, "I guess that's enough fun for one night." He then picked Madara up and carried her back to her home.
Kakashi helped clean up the table, the chairs, and whatever trash was lying around. Obito walked up to him, "Hey, handsome, why don't we follow in Madara's footsteps and get blackout drunk?"
Kakashi sighed, "Obito, I might have to go on a mission tomorrow. I can't stay up all night."
Obito accepted defeat, "Alright, I guess I'll drink by myself." She walked off by herself. Kakashi felt a little bad, he would ask Izuna to go check on her before he went to bed.
Hashirama continued carrying Madara through the village, he hoped Madara wouldn't wake up because she would surely scold him. He felt a tug at his shirt, he looked down to see Madara slowly waking. She opened her eyes to see Hashirama holding her, drunken Madara thought this was a dream. "Oh, Hashirama, you're so warm and sweet." She snuggled her head closer to his chest.
Hashirama felt uncomfortable with Madara's words, it wasn't like her. He set her legs down, and she stumbled and held onto Hashirama's left shoulder. Madara stared at Hashirama with lust, "Hashirama, make love to me. Ravage me, mark me, make me yours." She giggled.
Hashirama was so uncomfortable as Madara held onto him, she gripped his chest and shoulder. Hashirama struggled to find his words as he was the embarrassed one this time, "Madara, umm, you should stop. You're not in your right mind."
Madara giggled again as she stared into Hashirama's hazel eyes like a predator eyeing its prey, "Silly hash brown, you think you have a say in my dream."
Hashirama was about to say something when Madara tried leaning in for a kiss, he acted before she kissed him. Hashirama pushed her away, almost knocking her over. "Snap back to reality, Madara, you're drunk and I won't take advantage of you in your current state."
The drunken Madara tried to point to Hashirama but pointed in another direction, "Why are there four of you..." She then hiccuped and passed out. Hashirama was able to catch her this time, he hurried to her home so there wouldn't be any more incidents.
Hashirama finally arrived at the house and opened the door gently, he carried Madara through the threshold. Hikaku and Izuna were already inside, the two stopped their conversation. Izuna seemed concerned, "What happened to my sister?"
Hashirama chuckled nervously, "She had a bit too much to drink."
Both Izuna and Hikaku seemed shocked. Izuna spoke up first, "My sister... drank alcohol... til she was blackout drunk?" Izuna then burst out laughing uncontrollably.
Hikaku joined in, "She would never do such a thing, especially not with the stick up her ass." He joked.
Hashirama found it somewhat amusing, he'd remember the days when Madara wouldn't have even a single ounce of alcohol say for holidays and the occasional nudge from himself to drink. Hashirama chuckled slightly, "I proposed we drink but she said that she would if we played poker for drinks, whoever lost a round would drink, we played ten rounds and I've yet to have a single drink tonight."
Izuna laughed, "So you're telling me she didn't win a single round, but how? What are the odds? Did you cheat?"
Hashirama shrugged, "I barely knew how to play poker when we started, and at the end, I didn't fully know what winning hands were exactly."
Izuna was skeptical but he nodded, "Well, I know you're not the type to cheat. You're too honest and good-hearted." He pointed his index finger at Hashirama, "But if you even think about taking advantage of my sister while she's intoxicated, so help me!"
Hashirama was serious when he nodded, "I would never take advantage of her, it would be disingenuous to her and myself."
Izuna smiled, "You're a good man, Senju, the best even. I could ask for no better husband for my sister."
Hashirama's face lit up like an apple, "Well, uh, thank you. But we haven't gotten there yet."
Izuna laughed, "True, but it'll happen eventually. The question is how long will it take for you to break my sister's walls down?"
Hashirama carried Madara back to her room, placing her on the bed and covering her in a black blanket. He walked out of the room and shut the door slowly, so as not to wake her.
Izuna got up to answer a knock at the door, it was the masked white-haired man, Kakashi. "Yes?" Izuna asked.
Kakashi seemed tired, "Can you go watch after Obito? She said she's going to go drinking, I need to go to sleep but I can't in good conscience let her be alone."
Izuna sighed, "Since I have nothing better to do then I'll go watch her. Go get your rest, you need it."
Kakashi made his way back to his apartment relieved, he could rest easy knowing Izuna was there for her. Izuna went out looking for Obito, she would be easy to find since she was as loud and boisterous as Madara could be at times. And Izuna could sense her chakra even now, it was somewhat similar to his and Madara's.
Hashirama stood in the living room of Madara's home, he sat down on the couch. He closed his eyes and held his head, a voice called to him, "What are you doing, Lord First?"
He opened his eyes and saw Hikaku, "Oh, Hikaku. I forgot about you, did you enjoy the festival tonight?"
"You guys left without me, I waited for you guys. The red-haired girl was the only one to come back, she went to her room without saying a word."
Hashirama shrugged, "She did walk away in a fuss, but I can't remember why."
"Did you guys even remember that I wasn't with you?"
Hashirama laughed, "Well, I kinda forgot you existed, sorry."
Hikaku sighed and headed off into his room, Hashirama was now alone with his thoughts. He slowly drifted off to sleep thinking about how forward Madara was earlier.
Madara awoke the next morning, her head bulging in pain. She struggled to get to the bathroom, her head felt like she was slammed into a rock repeatedly. She looked into a mirror and question herself what has happened last night for her to be this way.
Her question was answered by her devil and angel, "You had drunk yourself to the point of blacking out." The angel said.
"And then when you regained consciousness, you tried making Hashirama Senju mate with you," the devil said.
Madara shook her head, "I would never, he would never." She held her face in embarrassment, "That's a lie. It has to be."
The devil laughed, "There is no need for us to lie, we are a part of you."
The angel laughed as well, "He was so bewildered but when you tried kissing him he stopped you, he said that he wouldn't take advantage of you while you were drunk."
Madara blushed thinking about how chivalrous Hashirama was, he was a true gentleman. But there wasn't anything that his chivalrous spirit could do about her splitting headache, so she decided to ask Obito if she knew of anything to quell her pain.
Kakashi had gotten up earlier because he was summoned for a meeting with the feudal Lord of the Land of Fire. Of course, the Fire Daimyo was present, Lord First was present, Minato-Sensei was present, Itachi was present, along with Shikaku Nara. They all sat around an oval-shaped table. It was Kakashi's first meeting like this, it must've been important. The Fire Daimyo said, "This meeting has been convened to discuss who will be the acting Hokage or if there should be a new Hokage." The room went silent.
Hashirama broke the silence, "I think there should be a Fifth Hokage instead of me or the Fourth resuming our terms."
Minato nodded his head in agreement, "I agree with Lord First, there should be a new Hokage.
The Fire daimyo asked, "Oh? And who would you have in mind, Lord First?"
Hashirama stood up, "I nominate Madara Uchiha for the Fifth Hokage."
The room went silent, and the Fire Daimyo stopped waving his fan, "Lord First, is it wise to nominate an instigator of war?" He asked.
Hashirama nodded, "I understand your reservations about her as Hokage, she has done things that some people won't be able to forget. However, I partially blame myself for her actions. I could have stopped her if I showed more kindness with her. I also promised Madara on the day she named the leaf village that she'd be the First Hokage, Tobirama convinced me not to. I want to make good on that promise now." He sat back down.
The Fire Daimyo thought about it, "She is a historical legend and quite powerful, she is a suitable candidate. Are there any other candidates?"
No one else had anything of significance to say. The Fire Daimyo collapsed his fan, "Then it's settled. Madara Uchiha is the Fifth Hokage."
It was now evening over Konohagakure, Madara sat down over the cliff and dangled her legs over the edge. She watched as the sun set, it was as beautiful as it was when she was a child. Madara smirked, she felt Hashirama's chakra climb up the cliffside staircase. He huffed as arrived, he smirked remembering that day. They were in a familiar position once again, but they were in a different period in time. "You know they say that the first step, it's a doozy."
Madara chuckled slightly, "Why do you expect me to fall?" She turned to him. "What brings you here, Lord Hokage?" She winked.
He walked up next to her and sat down, dangling his feet as well. He smiled wide at her, "I have good news."
Madara seemed uncomfortable now, "Good news? Are you sure?"
Hashirama nodded, "Of course, you're gonna love it."
Madara quirked a brow, "Is that so?"
"There's going to be a Fifth Hokage, you." He put his arm around Madara's shoulder.
Madara felt the Deja Vu, "Am I worthy of it? I tried to..."
"You deserve it more than anyone else. You were the leader of the Uchiha clan, you founded the hidden leaf village, you are the strongest woman in all of history, you helped defeat a crazed old woman from a bygone age, and you beat the First Hokage senseless several times." He heard Madara chuckle.
"Hashirama, you are too good to be true. You are kind, compassionate, understanding, and yet still a hollow head."
Hashirama remarked, "A hollow head that you fell in love with." He chuckled and Madara gave him a playful nudge. Hashirama laughed, "Hey. Those were your words, not mine."
She chuckled back, "I know. I was just hoping you would not use my words against me."
Hashirama placed his hands behind himself and leaned on them, "What can I say, you have a way with words. And your fists of course."
The two looked at each other and then turned to look at the sunset, the silence was nice between them.
Madara thought she'd break the silence, "When we first sat here, as children, did you truly expect that we could see our dream with our own eyes?"
Hashirama gazed at the village, "If I'm being honest, no. I didn't expect the frail Hashirama who had a bowl cut and a huge crush on a boyish girl, along with the outspoken and beautiful Madara trying to make herself known to others in a system that wasn't kind to girls. I thought our dream would have died. However, when I awakened my wood style I felt that it was possible but unlikely."
Madara's eyes now looked toward the village, "I cannot believe that our clans fought for so long, and it only stopped because of you. If you had not shown me compassion then there would be no village, and the world would have forgotten our clan's names."
"Compassion was in short supply then, but someone has to take the first step or no one else will. I was lucky though, if you hadn't been the leader of the Uchiha then the fighting may have gone on even longer. I'm glad we met that day at the river, I wouldn't be the same man I am without having met you." Hashirama turned to her and smiled with his eyes closed.
Madara turned to face Hashirama and saw his sincere smile, this was a smile of comradery. But Madara felt a heat in her chest, she didn't fully understand it, love. In an instant, her body moved on its own, and she leaned close to Hashirama with her eyes closed. Her lips connected with Hashirama's, inciting a kiss between the two.
Hashirama opened his eyes as he felt Madara's lips, he was shocked that Madara would initiate a kiss. But he didn't care, this is what he dreamed of since the day they met. He leaned toward her, embracing her. When Madara opened her eyes they were her normal Sharingan, she wanted to remember this moment forever, her first time of affection. She pulled back shortly after, hiding her face from Hashirama.
Hashirama opened his eyes to see Madara's midnight mane, he could tell she was embarrassed. He wouldn't tease her, well at least yet.
Madara's voice was a higher pitch than normal as she spoke, "I'm sorry. I should've-should have asked first." She was acting like an embarrassed teen.
He couldn't help but chuckle, "It's alright, it was good."
Suddenly a loud crash could be heard from behind them, a boy fell out of a tree. Madara turned around and saw the boy, Naruto Uzumaki.
Madara was furious that there was an eavesdropper, she changed her eyes to the Rinnegan and pulled the now sixteen-year-old boy to her, she held Naruto by the throat, "How much did you hear?" Her voice held venom.
Hashirama stood up and tried to diffuse the situation, "Why don't we relax, he was merely passing by. Right, Naruto?"
Naruto nodded, "Yeah, we were just passing by." His voice was full of fear.
Madara quirked her brow, "We?" Now using her sensory abilities she felt a second chakra signature in the tree Naruto fell from, Madara created a Susanoo arm and smacked the tree. This time a girl fell, it was Tayuya. Tayuya wore a green jacket with baggy blue pants.
Madara dropped Naruto and looked at Tayuya, "What are you two doing here? Hmm?"
Tayuya got off the ground and dusted herself off, "We wanted to see what you two were up to, is that so bad for teenagers to do?"
Madara answered, "Hmm." Madara then returned her eyes to her onyx orbs, and she began walking toward the staircase along the side of the mountain. She stopped and turned her head slightly, "If you tell anyone about what happened there will be consequences, especially you Hashirama." She then continued.
Hashirama wiped the sweat off of his forehead, "That was a close one. Naruto was almost an Uzumaki sandwich." Hashirama laughed at his own joke.
Tayuya looked at the First Hokage, "I don't see what she sees in you." Tayuya then walked down the mountain too.
Hashirama slumped his shoulders and slipped into his aura of depression, "Women are so mean."
Naruto patted Hashirama on the back, "There there, zombie-sensei. There's no need to feel sad, girls do it a lot."
Hashirama looked at the shrinking figure of Madara and her pupil, "You think I'd know that by now, though I guess being bullheaded has its perks" He then sighed, "I hope she'll be a better Hokage than Sarutobi, and I."
It was October twenty-fourth, fourteen days after the fourth great ninja war. It was a surprising day in Konohagakure, it was snowing in October, something that was unheard of.
Hashirama was turning twenty-six, physically. It seemed that it was going to be a rather ordinary day, no one knew that it was his birthday. But then again today was another one's special day, it was Madara's inauguration as the Fifth Hokage. The village was busy, bustling, and excited before the ceremony, it had been sixteen years since the last Hokage had been named.
Minato and Hashirama waited in the meeting room, they were waiting for Madara. Madara was finally putting on her Hokage robe, she had refused to wear the original Hokage robes as she always found them ugly. She had a custom-made robe that no one else had seen beside the tailor.
Madara walked into the meeting room, and the first thing Hashirama noticed was that she wore a headband with the leaf insignia. Next, he noticed Madara's robe was the traditional white and red accents. The robe reached down to her calves, with long sleeves that reached her wrists. There was a flame pattern around the edges. The robe also complemented her figure, it was very tight fitting around her waist and loose near the chest. The back said 'Fifth'.
"Well, what do you think?" She sounded bored.
Minato rubbed the back of his head, "It's pretty unorthodox but it looks nice."
Hashirama cleared his throat, "It's...beautiful."
Madara was even now embarrassed, "You think so?"
Hashirama nodded, "Yeah. Though I still want to see you in the normal robes though..."
Minato elbowed Hashirama to shut up, Minato then laughed nervously, "Shall we be going?" He asked.
Madara nodded, following Minato and Hashirama to the roof of the Hokage estate.
The crowd was huge, probably the biggest amount of people gathered in one place in the history of the leaf village's history. All excited to see who the next Hokage was going to be.
Kakashi and his three students were absent since they were sent on a mission to the hidden mist village by request of the Fifth Mizukage earlier in the morning. Naruto was especially bummed because he hadn't seen a Hokage inauguration in his lifetime.
Obito was sitting on top of a water tower, and Itachi leaned against the water tower underneath her.
"Disappointed it's not you?" He asked.
"Nah. I can always be the sixth, I doubt Madara's term will be long." Obito replied.
Itachi smirked, "You sound like you're pretty sure about it."
Obito looked at him, "And you sound like you haven't met Madara before."
Hashirama and Minato stood up on the rooftop, both holding the Hokage's hat in the air. Minato spoke first, loudly, "I am Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage."
"And I am Hashirama Senju, the First Hokage."
"And we will now begin the inauguration of the Fifth Hokage. We will be presiding over the ceremony today."
"Alrighty then, please welcome your Fifth Hokage!" He motioned for Madara to step forward, she walked up next to them as they handed the hat to her. She grabbed the hat and raised it into the air before placing it on her head with a smile.
After the inauguration Madara sat in her Hokage chair next to her Hokage desk, to her it felt strange being on this side of the desk. Hashirama laughed as he leaned up against the wall, "How does it feel?" He asked.
Madara looked at him, "It feels like it is meant for someone else."
"It's not. It's yours."
"Hmm," she placed the Hokage hat on the desk. "I still do not think I deserve it."
Hashirama walked over to the desk, "It was originally yours, it's only fair that it's yours now."
Madara looked out the window, "But Tobirama thought I was not in the best state of mind then. What makes now any different?"
Hashirama looked out the window too, "You have me, you have Izuna, you have Obito, and you have your disciple. Back then, Tobi had a lot of hatred in his heart for the Uchiha, it caused him to be overcautious. I sometimes wonder what would have happened had you been the First Hokage?"
"Probably nothing different would have occurred, I had already lost Izuna, disowned by my clan, and then lost my best friend to an Uzumaki princess."
Hashirama smiled faintly, "I think you and Mito would have gotten along just fine if things were different." Hashirama then remembered something important, "Oh, I almost forgot. I have a gift for you." He walked over to the large cabinet and waited for Madara.
She followed Hashirama and stood at the cabinet before opening it, her eyes laid upon something that she had already missed.
"I managed to recover them from the battlefield. Kakashi helped me find a smith that would be able to reconstruct them both." Hashirama then held up a finger, "Although, you may find that there is a minor adjustment from the original."
Madara looked at a stand of her armor that looked shinier and more durable than before, along with a reconstructed gunbai. She looked to Hashirama, "I do not think my gift can top this."
Hashirama quirked an eyebrow, "You got me a gift?"
"Of course. I would not forget my friend's date of birth." She walked over to a filing cabinet and pulled out a scroll, "I had an encounter with my father before I reached the village Hidden In The Leaves. He showed me that he and Butsuma Senju were trying to put an end to the fighting, and the Akimichi were the mediators in the treaty. But Black Zetsu killed your father and mine, and since no one inside our clans knew about the treaty the fighting continued."
Hashirama read the scroll and noticed that it mentioned marriage between the eldest son of Butsuma Senju and the only daughter of Tajima Uchiha.
Hashirama hugged her, "Thank you, Madara. I still thought my father was a horrible man who was too blinded by vengeance to seek peace. I'm glad I was wrong." Hashirama backed away after he stopped hugging Madara, he had a wide smile. "Madara, you know what this scroll means right?"
"Nothing anymore, it is just a scroll that has no meaning." She folded her arms waiting for whatever answer Hashirama's could come up with.
"It means that you and I are bound to be married."
Madara's eyes went wide, "No, no, no. I'm not ready for marriage yet, we have not even dated."
Hashirama pointed to the wording on the treaty for the two to be joined, his smile was almost like it was glued on. "It's okay, Mara. We can get married later. I'm just glad you proposed to me, even if it wasn't intentional. But this has got to be the best birthday gift ever."
Madara walked over to her desk and sat down in the chair, she started spinning slowly in the chair. "I'm going to stay here until that information leaves my brain, goodnight Hashirama." She said staring off into blank space.
"Alright, I guess I'll see you later tonight. Don't overwork yourself, Honey..." Hashirama laughed as he stepped out of the office.
Madara stared at the cabinet with her new gunbai and set of armor, "A new great Shinobi war would be preferable compared to this." She murmured to herself.
Back at the former battlegrounds of the Fourth war a Kamui portal appeared and sprouted a man, he looked around not understanding what happened. "Hmm. It seems that Obito's other half didn't work as I intended. I thought for sure I used it correctly, the copy ninja was able to do it but why not I? Did I use too much chakra? Hmm." The man started thinking. He sensed for any chakra signatures nearby and only found one, an old man by the feeling of it. He walked in that direction until he found a major road.
He saw an old man sitting atop a carriage being pulled by an ox. The man stood in the road, blocking the older man's path. The older man stopped and asked, "What can I do for you stranger?"
The stranger was gruff and battle-hardened. His hair was black as midnight, his eyes were now black as ash, he was wearing a white robe with many patterns on it, "Do you mind telling me where I am?"
"Well about northeast is the coast of the land of lightning, y'know where the cloud people live. Southeast is where you'll get toward the land of water which is really far off the coast. The land of earth is northwest of here, the stone village is there. And if you're this far northeast you probably don't care about the sand village so I'm going to guess you care about the hidden leaf village. It's about a three day journey southwest from here. But you don't really look like you're equipped for trekking for three days, how about I give you a ride to the hidden hot springs village? I just don't want to leave a nice man like yourself out here alone, I was attacked by bandits last time I was alone. But thankfully this beautiful lady came and killed them, I mean she dispatched four guys in under a minute with her fists, and a fireball, and she even used a guy's sword to kill him."
The man sighed knowing the old man probably was right, no matter what his skills were he couldn't trek anywhere without getting his bearings first. "I wouldn't mind going to the hidden hot springs village, but please tell me more about this female Shinobi?"
The younger man hopped up next to the older man and they were off to the hidden hot springs village. "So this woman was with her daughter or niece, they were traveling down the same road I was on when bandits started raiding me. The bandits were perverts and whatnot, they threatened that they'd rape 'em but the black-haired beauty asked them if they wanted to dance before she killed the first man by crushing his throat with her foot and then stabbed the second one by using his built up momentum to stab himself, then she incinerated the third man as he tried running and the fourth looked into her swirly red eyes and then she grabbed his sword and decapitated him."
"Wait you said that she had the Sharingan?"
"What's that mean? Is it a disease or something?"
The man scoffed, "The Sharingan is only bestowed upon the Uchiha. It draws power from extreme emotional turmoil and converts that pain into power."
The older man didn't know what to say, "Ahuh. That's a mighty strange thing for a Shinobi, aren't some Shinobi unable to control their emotions during combat?"
"Only the weak-willed ones, yes. But once you surpass that weakness then the only thing stopping you is your body. Me for example, I have three kekkai genkai. That would not be possible without evolving myself."
The old man was now extra confused, "Well your body is supposed to have a limit, otherwise someone would rule the world forever. Or at least until someone righteous enough to stand up to 'em. Like that First Hokage guy or the copy ninja, if the world didn't have anyone like them then we'd have been destroyed long ago."
"Hmm," the man replied, "Though without conflict everyone stagnates and thus gets weaker for when conflict arrives. For as long as someone wants something and someone else gets it, there will always be conflict."
The older man understood what he meant, "Yeah, I guess you're right. As long as someone wants a girl but another man does as well there will always be something to fight for."
"But what if there were no conflict, physically and emotionally? The world would be at true peace." The stranger said.
"You look like you know something I don't, come on spit it out."
"There's a way to stop it but I'd have to get my second eye, but I wouldn't know where to find it."
The old man raised his index finger, "I know a guy who can find you anything, he just needs some money to persuade him."
"Where would I find this man?"
"Well you're in luck, he's actually in the hidden hot springs village. He retired there after the fourth war."
"I suppose it's a long way there still, can you tell me any more of this fourth war?"
"I don't know much besides the five great villages declared war on the legendary sanin member Orochimaru and the ghost of the Uchiha, Madara. There were reanimated Shinobi too, two of them were fighting for the good guys. But after that, the war is foggy because during the war the moon looked all red and weird, and then I felt like I was in a lucid dream. Like I was living the life I always wanted, but then that stopped and the war was officially over."
The stranger was skeptical and confused, "I see..."
The stranger didn't say much except for the occasional nod or grunt, the older man escorted him to a hotel where he came face to face with the man he'd needed to see.
The man had tan skin and he had green eyes that seemingly weren't alive, he wore a mask and had a black cloak with red clouds draped upon his chair.
The stranger approached him, "I'm told you know where to find things."
The information broker quirked up from a glass drink, "I might, but it would cost ya."
The stranger dropped a bag of coins in front of the broker, "I was already told." He stole the coins from a bandit before slaughtering him.
"What is it that you want?"
"I require the location of any and all users of the Rinnegan."
The broker sat up, "A Rinnegan? The only owner I know of is dead."
"Then find out more for me. It is imperative that I find a pair of Rinnegan."
"If you give me a couple of days I can figure something out, if not then you can have your money back," Kakuzu said grabbing the coin bag.
"Oh money means so little to me, it is just a material." The stranger turned around thinking about something, "If I am missing the thing I need how would I go about achieving it?" He stopped thinking, "What if you were to help me to build an empire to rival the five great villages? How much would that cost?"
Kakuzu looked at him like he was insane, "That's insane. And besides, what do you know about building and governing a village?"
"Everything," the stranger answered. "I have led armies and squadrons throughout my lifetime, an empire is merely the next stepping stone to my ascension."
Kakuzu was uneasy around this man, "As long as you pay I'll do whatever job you need me to do, but cross me and you'll regret it."
The stranger smiled, "Oh I will have no need to betray you. After all, a messiah cannot do everything alone. Gather every mercenary, bandit, rogue Shinobi, and warrior you can. Tell them there will be a place where the five great villages won't have jurisdiction. I will send the coordinates of this place in a week's time." The stranger proceeded out the door, "Until we meet again, Kakuzu of the Akatsuki." He then vanished into thin air.
