A request for Patrick on Ao3!
Sorry it took SO LONG, I rewrote this eight different times and then suffered burnout for a while. BUT! It's out! Finally after -looks at calender and cringes- it's out

This is a sequel to Addicted!

Blue ears twitched as he walked out of his desk area, his head hanging low in shame as his fellow officers went silent as he passed.

It wasn't fair.

It wasn't his fault Scourge escaped.

…Well it was but that was besides the point.

His ears still rang from the furious shouts and laughter from when they found him tied to the water pipe, a fury rising viciously as he recalled the intense feeling of humiliation as he tried to hide his slight other 'predicament'.

And now, as he walked through the small exit way, he scowled harder in the realization of how screwed he was.

Suspension….for nearly four months.

Or until the warden changed his mind, ergo; didn't like the fact he had to now deal with the work he once shoved on the hedgehog.

A part of him knew some part of him should be happy for the break.

But all he felt was bitter detestment.

He could barely fight the faint enraged heat dusting his cheeks as he stepped through the door frame to the exit portals, barely acknowledging his fellow officers as he punched in a code at the console with a scowl.

'Have a good vacation Captain.' The small fox officer offered with a sheepish smile, sweating only slightly at the intense glower from the taller blue hedgehog.

Only the rookie would believe the vacation story….

'...Thanks….' He mumbled, sighing internally from slight guilt when he saw the small giddy smile appear on the fox's face.

Rookies….

Stepping through the portal, Zonic did his best to ignore the sharp cold that faded to lukewarm. His emeralds losing their fire for a moment as the quiet lonely view of his home became apparent.

It only served to refuel his anger toward the situation as he forced himself to march up. The heat building in his chest and making his eyes ache as he fumbled with his keys for a moment, only to realize a moment too late that the door was already unlocked.

Easy to miss as he slammed his key into the lock and twisted it with a scowl.

With a huff, the blue hedgehog merely thought the immediate give was from his own anger coupling with his strength.

Tiredly, he made the mental note to make some tea as he kicked the door close with a sigh. Silence hung in the dreary home he refused to make homely.

It was the exact opposite of his pristine desk back in the prison.

Dust clung to the shelves as knocked over shoes littered the floor. As he walked past the landing, his kitchen table was covered in old take out boxes and bottles of a liquid he refused to acknowledge he drank.

A small part of him chided at him that he needed to clean, but why clean if no one ever came to visit?

He missed how one box looked recently dug through for the remains of the cold pizza inside, nor that one of his kitchen chairs was askew from the table before he sighed and let his body slam down on the worn couch.

The soft chilled fabric did little for his overheated body, making him twist and grunt before he gave up midway to press his face into his pillow with a whine of frustration.

It wasn't fair.

Zonic slowly let out a sigh as his face inhaled the familiar scent of lavender in his pillow case, his makeshift bed far more comfortable than his true bed a few doors down.

Four potential months of isolation….with no outside chatter or awkward noise that he had grown accustomed to.

'...'

It was going to be hell.

His ears rang in the silence of his lonely home, not even the faint buzzing of electricity in the walls mixing with water roused him as his mind numbed into sleep.

At some point, he began to hug the pillow he used for his makeshift bed as he slept. Exhaustion evident on his, for once, relaxed features.

It was then the room became alive.

With a casualness that was more fitting of some haunted house, the broom closet door opened silently. Black socked feet silently stepped on the barely used floorboards, their owner letting a foot kick the door close behind him as he continued his small journey away and to the kitchen.

A smirk, coy and smug, curled on his lips as heavy green and black boots fell on top of the green officer boots as if they were always meant to be there.

'Finally….' Stretching, the emerald green hedgehog yawned, his shark like teeth proudly on display as he flicked open one of his more recent pizza acquisitions,' Thank anarchy itself yer a dense sleeper Ranger.'

Sharp ice blues sparked as he cracked a grin at his own inside joke.

Yeah he knew he wasn't from that weird Super Sentai dimension, but when a boy scout was clearly dressed as one in some half willed cosplay?

It was almost hilarious to him that no one noticed that was why the warden chose those outfits.

Willing little pawns for some 'greater good' for a man in some unreachable tube built by his own greed.

With a sly hum, the scarred rogue walked over to the couch. Pizza dangling from his maw before he leaned over the top with keen interest.

Below him the blue hedgehog still slept, face pressed adorably into the pillow before his face scrunched and almost aggressively nuzzled into the pillow with a huff.

'Aww~ Poor you~ All tuckered out~ I almost feel bad disturbin ya~' He gave a soft hum, his gaze curiously eyeing his shoulder as he began to wonder.

Bare fingers, peaking through the tattered gloves he cut free himself solely to greedily run his hands over things in the home he broke into mainly for incrimination, quietly pulled back the shirt.

A soft purr left him at the sight of the nearly healed bite mark.

The remainder of the pizza slice quickly disappeared into his maw before the lithe pink tongue swiped over his sharp teeth in silent contemplation.

How dare it heal.

'You were so precious when I left you all bound to the wall, pleading at me like ya wanted me to stay…'

He rumbled softly as the urge in him grew, startling him slightly as he blinked.

It had been so long since he felt that kind of urge and have it demand that he do something about it, but…

His fingertips grazed the mark, his arm trembling for a moment as his cheeks tinted a sinful red. The short emerald tail twitched faintly at the small grunt and hum of pleasure before the blue hedgehog shifted and exposed his neck further, sighing sweetly as he continued to rest.

It was enough to make his mouth water and long to make something more permanent, weirdly enough.

'Oh….Oh I should not have waited so long.'

'No. You shouldn't have.'

A soft 'oh' of surprise left him as his ears twitched up, wondering if some stupid part of his brain made him finally snap and lose it.

Perhaps he did…

If not for the still gloved hand reaching up and grabbing him by the front of his jacket before pulling him down sharpish. The strangled noise wasn't fitting for someone his age as he slammed face first into the cushions and bent like some drunk contortionist.

'You have a lot of nerve appearing in my home-'

'And you gotta lotta nerve sleepin in your spandex outfit like some psycho.'

Cold and exhausted emeralds lingered on his squished face, nearly melding into the couch cushions as he was held down.

'...I was tired.'

'So?! That doesn't mean you sleep in spandex-'

'Quiet.'

The officer was surprised that even worked as his form loomed over his prisoner, scowling at the perfectly 'innocent'' pout,' …..I have half a mind to turn you back in.'

'I hear a but~'

A sharp grunt left the scarred hedgehog as he was pressed down harder,' Ow- Come ON Ranger! You can't tell me that you're not the least bit satisfied that yer boss is finally doing work he was supposed to be doing? That you got a break?'

'You certainly seem to think you know what you're talking about…'

'I mean, the other halfa yer brain is tellin ya something else?~ Right?~' Ice blues looked up in a glint, sparkling in a smugness that was befitting of some overfed cat rather than a convict.

'...'

'I'm not hearing a no~'

The sharp gag was like music as Scourge got a mouthful of cushion, cringing from the artificial taste of lavender.

'I'm not hearing anything either,' with a soft roll of his emeralds, Zonic leaned over to pin, using his weight and shifting so light emerald quills didn't poke him as he laid down,' Can't imagine why.'

With a soft sigh, he just…laid.

Too tired to move, too tired to acknowledge responsibility, too tired to listen to his conscience, too tired to listen to his body's conflicting need to lean in and simultaneously lean away.

To be overwhelmed and underwhelmed at the same time.

He hated it.

Even more so when he found his body relaxing against his will.

'Hey….hey you can't just trap me and use me as your mattress,' Scourge scoffed as he spat out the lingering lavender as he just barely managed to wiggle an arm free.
'This is unlawful-'

A pointed look silenced him before he scoffed,' You know what I mean Ranger~ Now move it! Yer stinkin butt is crushing me!'

'What? I thought you wanted contact? Since you were perfectly fine tugging at my clothes-'

'Spandex!'

'...While I was resting.'

He let his body move and shift, a small portion of himself loathing the instinctual need to press down.
He bit you ages ago, he didn't mean it-

It would've been a lie if he didn't say he read up on the phenomena, only serving to further embarrass and fill him with shame that of all beings in the multiverse, this was the person his body chose.

The past emotions that had been slamming into him for months surged and slammed back into the forefront of his mind.

Confusion, anger, shame, detestment, hatred, hope-

Exhaustion.

Sighing, Zonic finally rolled off, ignoring how his body wailed from the loss of contact as he purposely let his foot nudge the intruder off his couch.
'...Why did you come here, Scourge? You've been 'free' for months now….and you come here?'

The question caught the other off guard as he flopped on the ground gracelessly,' Surely you have that little fox to run to? Or a plethora of exes to swoon to, to allow you to stay for a bit?'

'I don't run to nobody.'

'Mm….and yet you ran to me and my home?' He continued, ignoring the soft glower before dull emeralds sparked in faint realization,'...Unless….You felt it too?'

Ice blue darted away, nearly attempting to squish back into the cushions before Zonic slowly began to lower himself down.

'That….weird feeling? The one that makes it hard to sleep….hard to eat….That stupid ache you can't place?' He couldn't help but study his face before he turned fully, catching the barest hints of bags.

His body pressed against his back, shivering as the ache subtly went away, settling against warmth he didn't know he craved.

'Like….something isn't complete?'

Silence hung, making his mind scream despite knowing it was something out of his control,' ….You did the wrong type of bite didn't you? And you've been suffering like me…..haven't you?'

'Cute theory but-' A fingerless gloved hand reached up to push his face out of his quills though somewhere along the way, the fight left him.

Zonic found himself focusing on each little callous, each little scar, the soft poke of tiny claws into his flesh, even the slight scratchiness of the fabric against his cheek but most importantly of all…

The warmth.

'I'm not like that.'

'...Like what?'

Emerald ears perked at the oddly soft tone, unsure what kind of tone it was supposed to be. It was nothing like the usual irritated deadpan.

Something…softer.
'...Needy.' The bite in his voice was hard, the unmoving heat on his hand making his face burn when he wasn't shoved away from the spitting acid like word.

Instead…It was almost like he was pulled back.

Closer.

Closer to the warmth, closer to something his body craved, closer to something he refused to call contentment.

'...Is it wrong to have needs Scourge?'

The scarred teen trembled slightly as he felt him shift to just….linger behind him….the heat of his chest making his covered back roasting warm beneath his jacket.

'...I don't think it is.'

'Yer being weird Ranger.' Scourge scoffed softly, cringing from the heat that felt too nice and almost suffocating.

But he couldn't lean away.

It felt wrong to.

'Weird? Or making a good point?'

Zonic quietly pressed his nose against his shoulder, the rich scent of nicotine and leather making him lightheaded for a moment before he hummed quietly.
No…it wasn't a good time.

That same small voice echoed in his mind, about fairness….

Fairness.

Slowly his grip tightened for a moment as the bitterness of work slammed into him once again.

Fairness.

Maybe…he was done being fair. Maybe…he could prove the issue of fairness to his peers, change it?

Bring down the warden himself and reshape the No Zone properly?

Slowly, his grip loosened as he sat up. His body howling and demanding he lay back down and never let go,'...I'm going to go change into my proper pajamas, maybe a shower beforehand. And then I'm going to bed….'

The convict slid into his warm spot, wide ice blues staring up from the cushions as he crawled over, noting how fingers tried to grab at his belt to entangle and trap him a bit longer.

Hardened dull emeralds peered down, his leg still over the scarred hedgehog while his other remain firmly planted on the ground,'...You could do three things….You could leave….You can stay there…or you could join me….it's your choice.'

Casually he removed his foot, nudging his side hard enough to make the man that tormented his dreams for months squeak like some chew toy.

'...I would prefer it if I returned your little gift…..A proper bite to ease those thoughts.'

He didn't need to know how heavily he researched since the bite, since the escape, he didn't need to hear laughs or acknowledge how inexperienced he was, nor acknowledge how he only seemed to want this from him of all people when no one else caught his eye.

'But…it's up to you.'

Ice blues followed the spandex wearing figure, the cotton dry feeling in his mouth growing as he felt his own body scream and howl. Frothing on the edge of snapping.

It was terrifying, but exhilarating all the same.

He felt the confliction rise as he felt his body want to sink into the warmth of the cushion while also wanting to lunge as Zonic pointedly let his shoulder guard drop to expose his faded bite mark with a casualness more fitting for someone far more outgoing.

'...Ain't fucking fair at all.'

Scourge felt his throat tighten as his legs acted on their own, throwing him over the top of the couch to follow and leaving his jaw aching with an itch he now could place.

Maybe he really didn't escape prison.

Maybe he was chained in a new way.

But…Would that be so bad?
