Chapter Thirty: Olivine City Beaches

It was time to conquer the entire Eastern fringe of Warhammer 40,000's galaxy.

Or that would've been what I had done, if I hadn't needed a short break.

I took a vacation to the least war torn place I could think of, I earned it after turning the Tau of Warhammer 40,000 from a tiny speck on the galaxy's mind into one of its most important factions.

Time traveled oddly, but I had done enough research into Han Jihan's Atlas to find out I didn't just leave the Tau Empire leaderless when I went to go take a quick break and then return and keep conquering territory. I would be there and back due to the time inbetween dimensions.

I was laying on a beach chair, wearing sunglasses and sipping a cold drink.

Due to me messing up the dimension jump, which after some practice back and forth I realized I'd never do again, I had aged physically two years. Not that I minded really.

I looked up and sighed, watching Wingulls flutter above me.

The sun was nice, and I'm sure the water was nice, and above all, the sunglasses helped me enjoy a very fun departure from the war and lack of ladies in the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

Girls.

Specifically, young women wearing bikinis and swimsuits of a decent variety that I admired seeing them in.

Competition season was mostly over for various trainers across the Kanto and Johto seasons, although a few were making their debut. So I got to see plenty of bodacious breasts, asses, and bodies all clad in skin tight swim wear.

I do get why Pokemon censored one of their few beach episodes. Because man was it nice to just sit back and appreciate the view, or views.

I rubbed my face slightly, wondering how to spend my next few weeks of vacation.

Honestly I had no interest in Pokemon battling, I had spent the last few months of my life battling giant bugs, possessing mummy robots, and researching and planning the management and colossal expansion of an empire encompassing several hundred planets.

However, I would just do what I was doing now for a bit until I went back, enjoying the view of everything and not questioning it.

A girl released a Corphish from its Pokeball to join her in the water, and it made a tremendous splash from the sand of the beach. Her friend, relaxing in a pool donut on the calm water, was sent flying into the air.

The nicest part of the view besides from the comically strong splash the Pokemon made was seeing her large bikini clad breasts jiggling about when she was about to land back in the water with a yelp.

I was about to close my eyes for a second and almost drift off into a nap when a particular girl walked by.

A girl in a green and black bikini wearing a large sun hat and sunglasses appeared to be hiding her identity. At least I assumed that's what she wanted, she was doing her best to set up her umbrella and beach towel in peace and not be bothered.

I could break from the empire building for a moment to appreciate-

That was Leaf. Apparently a Pokemon Champion of a very high LV.

I had a few questions about this Pokemon universe but decided to forget them, I was here to relax after all.

It was my short vacation for a few weeks before I went back to making the Tau unstoppable.

She didn't notice I had looked at her and I realized something.

Since my days at Hogwarts what seemed like an eternity ago. I didn't really talk to girls. Or at least, I couldn't flirt for the life of me.

Dang, what was I going to do? I obviously wasn't just going to-

"Hey."

She was standing nearby, pointing to my beach chair.

"Can I have that? You have two, and I just don't wanna walk all the way back to the snack bar." She smiled. "Please?"

I noticed she was pointing to the spare water bottle I had with me.

"Oh sure."

Leaf drained the water for a moment and then screwed the cap back on for a moment.

"Thanks."

This girl was absurdly attractive.

"Uh, I'm a bit new here, do you know this town pretty well?"

"Kinda. I've only been here a few times why do you ask?"

I'd imagine she'd know Olivine City pretty well.

I smiled, looking up at her. "Well, I wouldn't mind getting to know you better. Would you?"

She shrugged. "Not at all really."

I sat down next to her on her beach towel as we watched families and even a few Pokemon play in the water nearby.

"Well, I'm Robert. I'm eighteen, and I'm studying to be an engineer at Ecruteak." I said quietly.

She chuckled, possibly not buying my story. "Alright. But do you have any idea who I am?"

"Not really."

Leaf sighed. "I've just been wearing my hair up, but. I'm Leaf, the Leaf."

"I honestly don't recognize you."

If it wasn't for some slight previous knowledge of this universe, I would have no idea who she was.

"You seriously don't know anything about me?"

I shook my head.

"Do they not have TVs over in Ecruteak?"

I chuckled, resting my hands in the pockets of my swim trunks. "Did I offend you?"

"Not at all. I'm just confused, everyone knows about the top Trainers."

"I've been sorta living under a rock for the past few years. There's an engineering school up in the mountains near the Lake of Rage. Didn't get much of a signal up there, sorry."

She smiled, nodding. "Yeah, I think I've heard of that place."

I did enough research to find out just enough, and also that their record keeping wasn't exactly great.

"What drew you to become a Pokemon Trainer?"

"I was best friends with two guys from my hometown." she shrugged. "That was all they did, and I was always a few steps behind them for a bit. I wanted to become a researcher or even a Professor but that'll be a long time off."

I think I knew who they were.

"What happened to them?"

"I used to date one of them, the other guy hasn't been seen by anyone for a while. People said he pretty much disappeared completely."

I frowned. "I'm sorry to hear about that. What brings you to Olivine?"

"Oh, just League stuff. They want me to maybe manage a Gym or something, and Gold's making a challenge. He's a great trainer, you should come check it out."

"Alright then." I nodded.

"And what about you?" asked Leaf.

"This is sort of the only vacation I've had from studying for a very long time. I wanted to see the beach."

"Good choice for a vacation." she was right, the only thing about as gorgeous as Leaf and all the women around here was the beach itself. "How long are you staying?"

"Only two weeks. Then I've gotta head back to school."

"Enjoy it! I honestly only get a few weeks in the entire year that I'm not competing or getting ready to compete."

I stood up with a grin. "I'd enjoy it a little more if we could maybe race each other to see who can swim the farthest."

She picked up a magazine, deciding to read it and fix her sunglasses. "Oh no."

"Come on, who's gonna recognize a celebrity?"

Leaf sort of seemed to appreciate the joke. "Alright if you really want to swim far and fast, I know someone who can accommodate you."

She reached into her bag and released Buizel from an Ultra Ball.

"Let Robert chase you boy."

[Mordecai - LV 67 Buizel]

He cooed loudly and chased his tail around for a moment.

"Okay man let's go." I said.

The Pokemon's chirp was sharp but not too shrill. With great speed, the Buizel burst into the water and I was off, chasing him.

I swam after him, and I was glad Pokemon barely had lifeguards, because I was quickly starting to really swim to the limits of the beach. In fact, I think the lifeguard for this beach was a Buizel or something.

Mordecai seemed to probably not be one of Leaf's Pokemon in her main lineup, but in great shape nonetheless.

He was fast in the water, even for a Buizel, and I was able to make goggles out of Mana and see schools of aquatic Pokemon a bit farther out from the beach.

This place was beautiful. It was just a pretty place to watch all these very unique creatures all swim together.

Some Pokemon were less friendly to me than others, but Leaf's Buizel was nice enough to start guiding me back towards the beach after I'm pretty sure it caught a glimpse of a Sharpedo.

Not that it was any threat to me after all I'd been through, but I don't think Leaf sent Mordecai out to start battling wild Pokemon.

Almost forty minutes of swimming later, I returned to the beach and Leaf was nice enough to grab me a towel.

"Here. You looked like you were having fun out there."

"I certainly did, you raised a great guy."

"Mm. You hear that? You did a great job." Leaf smoothed her hand over Mordecai's head, the Buizel closing his eyes and cooing slightly. "Rest up."

She gave him a snack and he returned to his Ultra Ball.

"You wanna cookie and a smoothie back at the snack bar? Least I could do after you saved me from all that thirst earlier."

"You don't have to do that."

"I know," Leaf said. "But I want to."

"Alright sure."

It turned out the walk back to the snack bar was over twenty minutes, and to my surprise, the snack bar started serving alcohol after sundown. Not that I was interested in any of it, but the beach was still open as the sun began to dip over the horizon of Johto's seas.

I ate an absolutely incredibly delicious sugar cookie and Oran berry smoothie, sitting at a raised table with Leaf.

Less people were at the beach now and the snack bar was all but closed so no one bothered us.

"So what was it like becoming Pokemon League champion?"

"I'm not just Pokemon League champion." Leaf cleared her throat, looking aside before slipping on a jacket over her bikini top. "Here in Johto anyway."

I chuckled.

"I've won championships pretty much all over the world. I still use largely the same team, similar strategies all of it."

"Is it fun?"

"Lots." Leaf laughed. "The trophies and the medals and the fame are one thing. But I honestly enjoy raising my 'mon above everything."

I finished my smoothie. "Bet the money doesn't hurt."

"It doesn't." she smiled back. "What about you? Why'd you want to become an engineer? Don't all guys want to you know. Do what I do?"

"Eh, I find what I do underrated."

"What's it like?" she asked.

"It's alright. I design mostly experimental machines." And weapons.

"What are they used for?"

Conquest.

"Exploration."

Leaf chuckled. "So new kinds of cars and vehicles?"

"It's only my first year transitioning from school to real um." Applications of magic in galactic conquest? It was getting pretty hard to keep up this lie to this girl. "World scenarios."

"What would you want to do if you weren't an engineer?"

"I've honestly never asked myself that."

Leaf smiled. "I would want to maybe, settle down after I retire, and grow my own gym. Build a team that would be the best in the entire world."

"You want to keep Training for the rest of your life?"

"Of course. I'm in my prime and I only just turned nineteen. I don't wanna end up like all these washed up old Gym leaders who barely have any notable titles under their belts."

She was proactive and dedicated, nice.

I made eye contact with her. "So you really like the idea of always improving what you do?"

"More than anything. I wouldn't want to do anything but what I'd do."

"You wouldn't wanna like, retire in some nice part of Kanto or something. Let your grandkids run a lab while you watch from a hill on a ranch nearby?"

"That sounds awful." Leaf shivered jokingly. "Ugh. I wouldn't want my kids to turn out like Blue."

Her ex.

I cleared my throat. "What did you have planned for tomorrow?"

"Let's see, Gold's challenge against Jasmine is at midday. Other than that I was mostly going to do what I did today. Relax in my hotel room, and come back here to the beach at the same time. What hotel are you staying at?"

"Oh I rented an apartment near the Pokemon Center."

She smiled. "So I'll see you around?"

"Yeah sure. That is, if you want to."

"Sure. Have a good night Robert."

"You too Leaf." I cleared my throat, looking around the empty snack bar. "I mean, you too."

"You can call me Leaf, it's fine."

As she left, I was hoping she was looking forward to seeing me as much as I was to seeing her.

The next week and a half I worked on getting a sun tan a bit.

Pokemon battles were a bit stale after the fights I'd been through. But they were fun to watch for Leaf's sake for sure.

If there was one thing I enjoyed about her, it was the amount of respect she had. Leaf could walk into a room like when we watched Gold and Jasmine have a Pokemon battle, and everyone would instantly rush to shake her hand and bow their heads.

Neither Jasmine nor Gold shared any interest at all in me, and barely acknowledged my presence when Leaf congratulated both of them on their performance after the match. Out of respect for her fame and to avoid any gossip, I stayed away from her during this all, near but out of close eyesight. Even if we were still just actually friends.

Luckily for her and I, the tabloids actually were unable to bother Leaf, since her and I were keeping things very casual and weren't really out on dates and tried our best not to be seen by them.

The battle itself was rather boring, except when Gold used Typhlosion and aggressively wiped out Jasmine's remaining team completely on its own. Now that was fun to watch.

I spent a few hours everyday just swimming in the ocean chasing after Leaf's Buizel, and even got her to play beach volleyball with a few teenaged Pokemon trainers who needed a few extra people.

It was very nice to have someone to see everyday and catch up with, just hang out with and talk and laugh. Whether or not I liked this girl romantically, respected her near legendary status on par with her disappeared childhood friend Red, I just appreciated having finally having a friend.

I had friends before at Hogwarts, but due to the decent age gap and constant boredom with the school, it detracted from my enjoyment of it all.

Leaf and I talked mostly, about her battle strategies and plans to build her own Gym and team of Pokemon Trainers, and my own thoughts on them.

She was an explorer, she had seen almost the entire world, but had barely scratched the surface of what she wanted to go do. The Legendary Pokemon were basically myths, and Leaf hadn't seen one, and she wanted to set a solid year or two of her life aside just to catch a glimpse of one.

I largely didn't dislike this world, it was just a neat little beach paradise where magical monsters fought, and I could retreat from my empire building for a bit from.

Nearing the last few days of my vacation, Leaf began to act a bit odd.

She insisted I hold her hand when we were walking along the beach one afternoon.

And most wonderful of all, I got to spread sun lotion on the beautifully smooth pale skin of her back.

Despite living in a version of Japan with magical monsters that battled each other, the best part of this all was starting to flirt with Leaf. It was just cutesy and random stuff, like complimenting each other's clothes and hair.

Leaf looked good in just about anything she was wearing.

That black bikini showed off all of her gorgeous body, but it was nice to just walk around Olivine city at nighttime and chat, maybe get some dinner sometimes.

Leaf and I laughed walking down the hallway to her hotel room, she was telling me the story of how she took the wrong team to a semifinal match one time.

"So you managed to win it all. With just a baby Bagon?"

She nodded. "Yup. I appreciated how hard he fought, I was giving my best coaching for all three of his fights. And to this day, Vincent is the best Salamence most people have ever seen compete."

"Very nice."

Leaf smiled. "These two weeks were amazing Rob."

"Yeah, thanks."

Ask her if you can go in her room. The door is right there.

She brushed her hair behind her ear. "It was really nice to meet you."

"You too. I had fun."

Leaf held her arm, maybe expecting a kiss on the cheek or something. She looked great in that black and green dress, I'd already told her-

I sighed. "I should be getting back to my room."

Paid for with money I got from selling all the gold coins the Gamer gave me for doing quests back at Hogwarts.

"Yeah, good night."

"Good night Leaf."

We waved to each other and I walked away, wanting to hit myself.

Dude, terrible move.

"Would you want to come in maybe?" I heard her call out.

"O-Okay."

We sat on the couch of her luxurious hotel room watching some TV, that was currently showing ads for all sorts of stuff for Pokemon trainers.

"Did you enjoy the dinner?"

Leaf cleared her throat. "Y-Yeah, dinner was good. It was good."

"You seem nervous."

"I've never been, alone alone with a guy before."

"Really? Didn't you have a boyfriend before?"

Leaf shrugged, shaking her head. "I mean, we barely ever made out and it was kinda short term so. Eh?"

I laughed, easing her nerves. "Oh my god, we're just watching something. What do you think is supposed to happen?"

She laughed with me. "I don't know."

There was silence for a moment before Leaf glanced at me. "What do you want to happen?"

"I honestly don't know."

The TV kept playing quietly for a moment.

"Nothing you might not want to?"

"God, please just stop talking." Leaf rubbed her face.

"I'm sorry. Hey-"

"Don't be."

There was silence again and we kept watching the TV.

I could battle super aliens from another dimension and kill tens of thousands of bugs with just a flamethrower and a sword, but I was struggling to find a way to make a move on her.

What if she didn't want to do anything? Did I? Fuck yeah I did she was awesome but were we rushing things? We flirted lightly but mostly hung out as friends for just two weeks.

I found an opening, I would just have to go for it.

"Ow."

We had bumped noses a little hard, Leaf and I tried kissing each other at the same time.

I turned, placing my head on her shoulder with a quiet laugh. "I'm so sorry."

"Wow, I'm- Here."

Leaf used her thumb to turn my chin to her and she kissed me.

My head had been blank for about two minutes.

I think I wasn't even thinking of her, I was just. Here.

I think it was time to stop talking.

Leaf and I started to kiss, and it turned to full on making out. My sexual experience in my past life didn't really go beyond a barely relationship in my first few years after high school, and even then all we did was have sex one time.

I held Leaf's hair, listening to her pant against my neck when I kissed her jaw.

"Robert," she whispered in my ear, helping my hands hike her skirt up her bare legs.

Afterward back in her bedroom, Leaf ran her hand across my forehead.

"You know, if you wanted to do that all along, you didn't have to play with Mordecai in the water all that time."

"I actually wanted to. The favors to get to sex started when we tried karaoke."

She pushed my shoulder, burying her face in the pillow as I chuckled.

"Now that, was the most fun of anything we've done so far."

I nodded. "The walks on the beach weren't bad though, not at all."

"No, they were great."

"Wait, I really could've just asked?"

"Well no, we just met two weeks ago. But I started to like you just a little bit after meeting you."

"I liked you from the moment I saw you."

She rolled her eyes. "Thank you."

"What? I'm being honest."

"So am I."

We shared a tight kiss, Leaf snuggled closer to me beneath the covers.

Leaf smirked, tucking my hair behind my ear for a second. "Hmm…shower with me?"

"Absolutely."

I got to see the fantastic sight of her nude body when slipping out from beneath the bedsheets.

"Well come on." she laughed, hanging off the doorway frame leading to her bathroom.

When we were back in bed, I was rubbing her bare shoulder while looking up at the ceiling of her hotel room.

"Hey Leaf?"

"Mhm?"

"Would you ever want to have someone join you when you're traveling the world? Or at least, want to see me help you find some legendary Pokemon?"

She nuzzled into my chest. "I don't know. Do you want me at your engineering school?"

That was a hard no.

After the silent response, Leaf spoke. "That answers your question."

"So you just want this to be, I don't know. Some beach vacation fling?"

"Mostly." she sighed. "I don't know. We'll figure it out in the morning okay?"

I mumbled. "So, why do you like me? At least, like this? I mean we only just met."

"Honestly?" Leaf turned towards me, drawing circles on my collarbone. "Why do you like me?"

I laughed quietly. "Well. You're very easy to talk to, I like how ambitious you are in competitive battling. And I don't know, you're super hot."

"Those are the same reasons why I like you." Leaf smiled with a shrug. "I mean, besides the complete lack of experience training Pokemon."

I laughed at this again, this girl was so easy to talk to.

I rubbed her bare shoulders, exhaling quickly.

I was decently tired. "Alright. Good night." I kissed the top of her head.

She kissed near my collar bone. "Good night Robert."

I held her tighter, she had such a beautiful body. Her skin was so smooth and warm, this was so nice.

Leaf had such curvy hips, perfect skin and hair. I loved holding her.

I should've tried being with someone sooner.

Or at least try to sleep with someone, because this was so relaxing and wonderful.

Eventually I drifted off to sleep.

"Good morning."

I woke up to the sensation of Leaf sleepily and slowly pecking my chin.

"Mm. Morning."

"How are you?"

"Hungry," I said.

Leaf spoke quietly. "I'll see if I can order some breakfast sent up to our room. Just gotta get dressed first."

I curled an arm around Leaf's waist before she left the bed. "I know something we could both eat."

She laughed loudly when I began to kiss and lightly nip at her neck. "Are all boys like this when they wake up?"

"Mm," I said against her neck. "Sort of."

Leaf smiled but squirmed out of my grasp. "Not right now, I want to get dressed."

With a quiet snap, I saw Leaf slip her panties back on.

"You should too."

I sighed, rubbing my eye. "Snuggling with each other is so freaking comfortable though, dang."

"Get up."

I turned over on my pillow. "Noo…"

"Get up, come on. Get your clothes on."

"I don't need to wear clothes when they hand you the breakfast at the door. If they wheel it on a tray or whatever in here, I will be so mad."

"Robert, I have the room reserved until midday. We gotta get going."

I smirked at her, my face still half in the pillow. "I can imagine a few things we could do in those." I glanced at the clock on the hotel's nightstand. "Sorry, that single hour and a half."

I was then hit with a pillow thrown at the back of my head.

"Alright horny man. Stay naked under there, I don't care." Leaf started tying up her hair in a ponytail while walking to her bathroom.

We started to eat our breakfast together calmly, I ordered the Pokemon equivalent of sugared custard filled crepes still eating from my bed, careful not to dirty the white bed sheets.

"Delicious."

"The berries are a nice touch." Leaf said.

"Kind of odd don't you think, that you'd sleep with a guy you just met? Especially for your first time."

Leaf shrugged. "Look there's just something about you, it's hard to explain it, but I haven't met a guy like you. You're just, different than anyone I've met while competing on the road."

"No one in Unova, or Hoenn like me?"

"Don't get me wrong, plenty of guys were cute. But after dating Blue, I just wasn't interested that way in anyone I met."

I smiled. "Red seemed like a better choice."

Leaf frowned.

"What?" I asked.

"I haven't seen or heard from him in over five years," Leaf said quietly.

I frowned too. "I'm sorry."

She said nothing, and I wondered if she deserved to find him. They were childhood friends and honestly I wouldn't get jealous if they ended up together if they found him.

Although, defeating a trainer like Red after he trained against the ice and snow in solitude upon Mount Silver for years sounded like an incredibly fun prospect. With or without Pokemon of my own, I could definitely do it.

Although I wondered how he'd react to a person offering to battle his team instead of using their own.

Leaf and I hugged each other good bye with a brisk but strong kiss, and said our farewells. She did give me her contact information, or the equivalent to it amongst Pokemon world means.

Although I doubted either of us would find the time to do something like this again, and if we did or didn't didn't seem to bother either of us.

It was time to get back to my Tau Empire, and to conquering and war.

I might come back to this universe someday perhaps, the legendary Pokemon seemed interesting to at least battle against.

Especially the scion of all Psychic energy: Mewtwo.

A/N:

So how was it? Not too fanservice-y and out there possibly? Next chapter will be back to the normal Warhammer 40k stuff, so thank you all for reading and the next update will be soon.
