Bakugan City is the home for Bakugan and Brawler alike. The city has many landmarks that make up the city skyline, from the various arenas around the tower to the theme park Bakugan Land. Another location that receives plenty of foot traffic is one personally owned by the Marukura family, one of the richest and most influential families in the world, and the largest investor in Bakugan City. This particular building is being used as a research facility by the Marukura family. This is the same facility that introduced the city to Cyber Bakugan, and thus, is their birthplace.

It has been three days since the tournament, and news of Caleb's decided victory. While it was an excellent contest of strength as well as great entertainment for the city, it served another purpose for this facility.

In one of the various labs on the upper floor of the facility, three scientists are working on the next batch of Cyber Bakugan. Two standby some experience looking equipment with a clipboard to take inventory of the fresh stock. One of the pair writes down the identification of the Bakugan before the other takes the batch in closed ball form in a tray. They pull them to the side of the room and carefully place the tray inside of the large metal container with others.

The third scientist sits at their desk in front of a computer. The monitor has a small camera attached to it with the red light on to show recording, "This is Aldric Saucier for Zagreus project, Devlog 097. We've been making great strides toward improving the Ai of the Cyber Bakugan. While in previous batches, we had improved the Cyber Bakugan to possess a level of survival instincts, being able to guard themselves against oncoming attacks. As shown in the recent tournament, however, they still require improvements in decision-making. As it stands, they cannot function without orders from a partner or master. It's also evident that the Cyber Bakugan pales in comparison to its real counterparts. Some evidence shows that unless its partner is incredibly skilled, has the upper hand, or uses multiple in a battle, they will still struggle against a real Bakugan."

In the background, the other two scientists are preparing the next batch of Cyber Bakugan, the second being hunched over a desk to type commands into the computer. They carefully select a good variety of Bakugan of different attributes for even distribution. As the scientist has selected the last of the Bakugan for printing, they give the thumbs up to their colleague to start the process. As they look away, however, the screen glitches out. One of the Darkus Bakugan selected for printing is replaced by another.

"I still feel strongly about our work on the Zagreus project. I believe that once we've fully mastered engineering the true thoughts of a Bakugan into Ai, we can move on to stage two of the Zafreus project and…," a small alarm interrupts Aldric during his video diary. "What's happening?" He asks, getting out of his seat.

"It's the printer. Something's wrong. It's not processing the Bakugan right," the trio of scientists watches as visual code is being printed before them. However, in what was meant to be a batch of sixty Bakugan, only five finished printing, with the rest having their code surging into the only Darkus Bakugan available in the batch.

Before the scientists can fully process what's happening before their eyes, the other four Bakugan open up, summoning themselves in their true forms. The lab is big enough to contain their sizes.

The four Bakugan are revealed as Pyrus Griffon, Aquos Siege, Subterror Hynoid, and Ventus Gargonoid. [500Gs each] A red griffon-like creature, a blue knight with a spear, a brown werewolf hyena, and a green gargoyle.

All four Bakugan appear normal, with their own difference being their purple eyes. It doesn't take them long to become hostile toward the scientists.

"Relax, we're been trained for this," one of the two pulls out a gate card from their pocket, "Gate card, set!" Both he and the other scientists operating the print pull out a Bakugan of their own. "Bakugan brawl! Stand, Ventus El Condor. Stand Pyrus Warius" They pull out their personal Cyber Bakugan, a warrior in red armour, and a green idol-like creature. [500Gs each]

"Gate card open!" The first scientist triggers the gate card, "Secure lock!" The four Bakugan become hoisted to the ground, unable to move. "With this, it should keep them in place without destroying anything. And now with my ability card, Hot Blast, they all lose 100Gs each." El Condor creates a small gust of wind that hits the four Bakugan. [400Gs]

"Good, now just leave the rest to me. Ability activate, Fire Tornado, I'll push their Gs down some more and raise Warius. This should put them down." Warius's weapon gets engulfed in flames as it gains power. [600Gs] The weakened Cyber Bakugan becomes weaker. [300Gs]

Before Warius can strike, the room becomes silenced by a haunting laugh. "You humans are pathetic. Even after all these years, you're just as weak and helpless as I remember." The scientist is perplexed by the source. The voice itself brings a chill down their spine. The last Bakugan on the tray leaps from the printer and lands on the field. It opens revealing itself as Darkus Reaper, a skeletally-like creature resembling the grim reaper. [600Gs]

They're unaffected by the gate card, much to the shock of the scientists. "It's not being restrained." Aldric remains back. He's the only one to notice the obvious, "It spoke…he's…alive."

Reaper slams the head of his scythe into Warius, forcing them back. "Block them, El Condor," El Condor gets between Warius and Reaper as per their orders, "Good, now ability, Disguising Tornado!" El Condor surrounds itself in a green tornado. [800Gs]

Reaper is amused, "This is just too funny for words. Double Dimension!" Reaper uses one of his personal abilities to nullify El Condor's power increase. [500Gs] "Reaper of the Chaos!" Reaper raises his scythe, the edge glows with power as his Gs increase. [800Gs]

Reaper slashes El Condor through the middle, sliding them in two. El Condor doesn't return to ball form, however. They turn green as if to do so, but instead dissolve into dust, much to the greater concern of the scientists.

Warius manages to get back on their feet, but Reaper has already closed the gap, with another slash, he slices their weapon in two, destroying it and the G increase. [600Gs]

Reaper grabs Warius by the neck and lifts them. "The thing with you fakes is I can't see the fear in your eyes when I take your life. Not that you have one. Black Thunder!" Reaper unleashes a surge of thuder through his body, into Warius. [1000Gs] Like before, instead of returning to ball form, Warius turns red before dissolving.

Aldric, seeing the writing on the wall, rushes for the emergency button. He slams his fist down on the big red button. A full building-wide alarm sounds with Aldric speaking over an intercom, "Hostile Cyber Bakugan in Lab 12! All staff must leave immediately until the situation is contained!" With that last word, the three of them exit out the only door, leaving Reaper with the restrained Bakugan.

Unaffected by the gate card, Reaper walks over to the computer connected to the print. Placing their hand on the hard drive, he absorbs the data, the code and information rush up his arm, "Ah yes. This should do nicely." He does the same to the other computer in the room, downloading the information into him, "Now just one last thing to do."

He walks over to the container of Cyber Bakugan but stops mid-way. He turns to look at the door. Down the corridor, a lone figure arrives off the lift. They step off this floor and continue onward in the direction of the lab.

"I can feel it. A real Bakugan. A strong one too," Reaper slides his hand over the edge of his scythe, "I'll take joy in defeating them. But not now. I'm not fully strong enough to take on a real threat." Reaper looks down on the restrained Bakugan. "Consider this a favor you owe me. Kill that Bakugan! Blinding Spice!" Reaper slashes the gate card, destroying it. The four Bakugan are freed from their containment.

Reaper grabs the metal container, and blows a hole in the wall of the lab, leading to the outside world. He shields his eyes from the natural light before flying away with the container, leaving the four to be his decoy.

As Reaper takes his leave, the presence he was sensing moments ago steps into the room, grabbing the attention of the hostile Bakugan.

Standing in the doorway of the lab, a woman enters the room. Her black hair is long and tied into a braid behind her back. She wears a jade green qipao dress, with black flat pumps. She removes the sunglasses from her face, revealing her brown eyes. She places the glasses around the collar of her dress, "Four hostiles," she says in a monotone voice, "Pyrus, Ventus, Subterror and Aquos. All appear to be under the affects of abilities with weakened stats."

Siege sees her get closer. Grabbing its spear, it flings it over its shoulder. She steps to the side casually, avoiding the attack, letting it strike the wall behind her.

She has a gauntlet strapped to her left arm. She lifts it to her face to talk through it, "This is agent Mei Fan. I am about to engage with the hostiles. Stand by for my field report."

Putting her arm down, she reaches into a pocket of her dress and pulls out a green Bakugan with white accents along it. "Bakugan…brawl!" She flings her partner into the battlefield, landing before the hostiles, "Ventus Cangdi stand." Mei's partner Bakugan reveals themself. A creature resembling a qilin, a dragon-like being with hooves, angelic wings, long whiskers, and a singular horn on its head. [600Gs]

Griffon, Garganoid, and Hynoid come charging for Cangdi with Siege standing back. Cangdi stands their ground. They keep perfectly still as they stare down three charging hostile Bakugan.

"Cangdi," Mei speaks up, "Mission start." Cangdi lifts their head upon hearing Mei's words, "Hmfp." Before a single one of the Bakugan can lay a finger on him, he dashes to the side, avoiding Hynoid's swinging arm. He then jumps up, flipping back to dodge Griffon. Garganoid grabs Siege's spear from the wall, and flings it at Candgi. They duck, missing the attack, but Siege catches the spear in midair.

Garganoid tries to tackle them from behind. On its own, it activates an ability, Disguising Tornado. [600Gs] It fires itself at Cangdi with a green tornado surrounding its body. Candgi sees them coming from behind, but doesn't do anything. Hynoid stands in front of them and uses an ability of its own, Mass Hammer. [600Gs] Hynoid's body radiates with energy as its size grows, becoming twice what it was before.

Mei Fan watches all of this play out until it's too late. "Ability activate, Harmony Call! I declare an attribute, then for a short time, all abilities of that attribute are nullified. I declare subterror." Cangdi's horn glows brown before shining a blinding light. Hynoid's ability is negated, returning it to its original size, and losing the G increase. [300G]

Cangdi ducks, letting Garganoid travel over him. He watches as they crash into Hynoid with its attack. The attack was strong enough to take out the weakened Hynoid, reverting them to the ball.

With one out of the four hostels dealt with, Mei Fan gets closer to the room, "Good work Cangdi. Just three more to go." She looks up to see Griffon preparing to attack, Circle of Fire plus Chimera's breath. [610Gs] Griffon breathes fire from their mouth.

"Canghi, to your left. Ability activate, Divine Property!" Cangdi's horn glows again before they take the Griffon's fire attack head-on. The horn absorbs the flames, reducing it to nothing, and absorbing the attack completely. [810Gs]

Garganoid tries to breathe a toxic wind attack from its mouth, but Cangdi is quick to react. Extending their horn, he shoots the same fire attack from before at Garganoid, intercepting the attack, engulfing the wind before colliding with Garganoid. They erupt into an explosion. Once the dust settles, their ball drops onto the floor.

Griffon rejoins Siege away from Cangdi. Mei Fan stands by Cangdi. "Divine Property is an ability that takes an opponent's attack, and then allows Cangdi the chance to use it for himself." Mei puts her hand on Cangdi's fur, and lightly strokes it. Cangdi looks down at her, "Hmpf."

The two remaining Bakugan put their powers together to strengthen themselves against Cangdi. The opposites of fire and water allow them to combine powers. [910Gs] Siege stabs their spear into the ground, using an ability to freeze the floor. Mei Fan leaps back, avoiding the ice while Cangdi remains in the same spot. Their legs get frozen to the floor with their G power decreasing suddenly. [610Gs]

Cangdi pulls against the ice, breaking free from their entrapment. As they get airborne, they become intercepted by Griffon. They tackle Cangdi, trying to force him back. "Ability activate, Armour Enlightment!" Cangdi's armour radiates and pulsates with power, allowing him the strength to force Griffon back. [910Gs]

Griffon tries to rush for Cangdi again, but this time Mei is more prepared, "Ability, Spiral Horn!" With Cangdi's signature ability, their horn glows gold, and the feathers of their wings change colour too. Kicking back against the air, Cangdi dashes underneath Griffon, his horn slashes under Griffon. By the time he's passed under it, Griffon reverts to the ball. Cangdi's continues forward, aiming for Siege. They try to block with their spear, but Cangdi shatters it with their horn, defeating the remaining Bakugan.

"Good work, Cangdi. Mission end," Mei holds her hand out and catches Cangdi as they revert to ball. Mei pulls her gauntlet to her lips to talk, "This is agent Mei Fan reporting. All known hostiles have been dealt with and accounted for. However, it looks like one of them may have escaped," Mei Fan walks up to the hole in the wall and sees the open city. She looks back at a spot in the room with a clear patch, "They may have also taken something in the attack. Will need to investigate this matter further. Mei Fan out." A few seconds after she has given the report, the alarm goes out completely.

With her report concluded, Mei breathed in a sigh of relief, "Okay. Another job accomplished. Let's return home." Mei holds her hand flat with Cangdi resting in her palm. He springs out of ball shape to talk to her, "Mei, something has been on my mind, and I wish to open up about it." Mei nods, acknowledging his request. "During that battle, you were talking to the Cyber Bakugan."

"Yes," she says in a flat tone showing no emotion to what he just said.

"Well, you know Cyber Bakugan can't talk back right? So why bother explaining my abilities to them?" Mei stops walking, standing in the middle of the door frame, not answering their question. Cangdi doesn't let it go, "Were…were you practicing speaking?"

For a moment, there's a slight crack in Mei's blank expression, but she rebuttals him, "Why would I be doing that?"

"Well, you did recently push forward your application for Master Marucho's vanguards. And, that would mean you'd be part of a team. And I know you struggle with it," Mei quickly silences her partner by closing her hand. "For your information, I was just showing dominance to my opponent. I wanted them to understand the situation, and give them a chance to surrender." Mei enters the lift, and descends down, having completed the job.

Bakugan City is a thriving location, not just for humans of Earth, and Bakugan of New Vestrioa. Bakugan City is also the place that some from other worlds like to call their home as well. A large factor in how revolutionary the city is comes in part from technology from another world, Vestal.

Vestal is a world much like Earth, although it thrives in technology, being leagues in front of Earth with its advances in transportation and science. Since the construction of Bakugan City, some natives of Vestal have come to recall the city as their new home.

Vestals, however, aren't the only worldly visitors to Earth. The formerly warring worlds, Neathia and Gundalia also have visitors come and go from their world to join in the festivities of a peaceful world with their Bakugan too.

Located near the outer ring of Bakugan City is a large building within a row of hotels and affordable housing. This is the Gateport. Its purpose is to be a safe, contained area in the city for transporting humans, Bakugan, and other worldly figures between the dimensions. This is how they primarily travel to visit Earth.

Inside the building, two engineers are currently operating one of the many dimension gates between Neathia and Earth. With the gate open, a young woman steps out of the portal, carrying with her a suitcase. The engineers close the portal. A gust of wind caused by the portal closing brushes her straightened red hair. She wears a nearly fully white outfit. A comfortable, long sleeve dress with a hood that stops around the knees, as some green trousers tucked into a pair of white boots.

She steps off the platform and is immediately intercepted by an official wearing a security uniform, carrying a clipboard. They have a partner Bakugan of their own resting on their shoulder, Fear Ripper. With a smile, he greets her, "Hello, and welcome to Bakugan City. We understand you are visiting from Neathia. Can I please take your name, and reason for the visit?"

She politely smiles and bows for the official, "Thank you for having me. My name is Luci Bloom, and I'm thinking of moving here, so I wanted to visit to look around." She straightens herself. In her dress pocket, a small white Bakugan pokes its head out.

The official writes down everything they said, "Okay, thank you kindly. And will you require a tour guide or some other assistance?"

"No thank you. I've already arranged a room at a local inn, and uh…," she blushes a little bit, "I already know someone here and we plan to meet up."

The official completely understands the situation, "Ahh, I understand completely. Please, just follow the arrows to the front desk, and enjoy your stay here." Luci moves along towards the exit. A camera mounted to the ceiling watches her closely. The footage is sent directly to a live feed to Battle Brawler Headquarters.
