Author's Note: I kind of surprised myself by how fast I got this finished. Was going to consider myself lucky if I got this up before Saturday! But, I got it finished and decided to upload it right away. So, enjoy! And I don't own any of these characters.
"So let me get this straight..."said Ike. "You felt like you were being watched and when you turned around, there was a swordsman standing there that looked exactly like you?"
"Yes..."replied Marth. "I know, I think I might be losing it, but I'm sure of it. He looked like me, the only difference was the mask. Then he walked into the office."
"I honestly don't know what to tell you. Did you take a hard blow to the head in that brawl yesterday by any chance?"
"Very funny," said Marth glaring at him.
Lucina couldn't help but feel nervous about this office meeting. She had no idea what to expect. She walked up to a desk and asked the pink dinosaur that appeared to be a secretary where she needed to go.
"Down the hall, last door on the right." She replied. Lucina thanked her and went down the hall. She thought she heard crazy laughter. Lucina thought about investigating, but she dismissed the thought. Lucina walked up to the door that the secretary mentioned and knocked.
"Come in," said a strange voice from behind the door. Lucina opened the door and gasped. Of all the things to expect, this was the last thing that she had. There were two hands hovering over the floor. The one appeared to be calm, but the other was twitching his fingers and running around like crazy.
"Awww...it's only Marth..."The crazy hand complained.
"No it's not Crazy Hand. This is our new brawler, Lucina,"said the other hand.
"Oh right! Now I remember!"Said the crazy hand excitedly. "She disguised herself as Marth to act as a beacon of hope to those in her world and all that boring stuff!"
Lucina decided to speak up. "I am right here you know."
"Oops, sorry."Crazy Hand apologized quickly.
"So, anyways Lucina."The calm hand spoke."I am Master Hand, the head of the Smash Mansion, and this is my partner, Crazy Hand."
"Nice to meet you," replied Lucina politely.
"You can find your room on the third floor of the mansion," said Master Hand. "The door will have a silhouetted image of Falchion on it. I trust you should be able to find your way?"
"I think I can."
Master Hand seemed satisfied. "Well, here is your room key. Go on then. Run along."
Lucina left the office noticing that the sun was setting. It looked gorgeous. "This is a sight that I haven't seen often..." she thought to herself. "It's beautiful. I think I'm going to really like it here. But the Hands give me the creeps..." She considered socializing with the brawlers, but she decided she would do that the next morning. "And Marth will be the first person I talk to." she thought happily to herself.
In the cafeteria, Master Hand made a little announcement. "Ahem, as you know, we have a new brawler that joined us today. Just remember to be friendly. That is all."
"That was...short." said Zelda."And we still don't know who it is! Did any of you guys see someone new?"
Marth spoke up, "I saw him, and I know where he's from."
"Aww... I was hoping it was a girl..." complained Peach.
"Well, spit it out, where's he from?" said Pit impatiently.
"He's from the Fire Emblem series...and he looked like me."
"WHAT?!" said everyone in unison.
"Looks like you?" Lucas asked. "How does that work?"
"Well, today at noon, Ike and I were talking outside, then suddenly I felt like I was being watched. I turned around and saw him. The only difference was the mask he wore."
"That's weird." said Link.
Samus randomly spoke up. "Hey...has anyone seen the villains?"
Lucina was walking down a hall, when she heard a shout. She ran down a little ways to see a bunch of people in a cafeteria gathered around Marth. She listened to Marth telling the story about her and tried not to laugh. "They think I'm him! That I'm Marth! This could be interesting..." She smiled and went up the stairs to where her room was.
"Alright, this must be the new brawler's room. This sword image wasn't here before." Bowser said while grinning. "Let's get to work!"
"Of all evil plots, this is probably the most pathetic," sighed Ganondorf. "Like really? A pitfall trap?"
Wario gave a horrible evil laugh. "Nothing pathetic about it! Bowser and I are making it seven feet deep and we'll grease the sides so the new loser won't be able to climb out! We won't trigger it until tomorrow morning so he won't suspect anything. Pure genius, I know!"
Ganondorf slapped his forehead and groaned. Then he heard footsteps. "Quickly, let's get out of here!" The villains just barely hid around the corner when Lucina walked up.
"This must be it" She thought. Taking her key, she unlocked the door and walked inside.
"Uh...was that Marth?!" said Wario. "Because that looked just like him..."
"Well maybe if we stuck around to hear Marth's story, maybe we would know!" said Ganondorf. "Now, loathe as I am to admit it, we should get started on this little 'evil' scheme."
Lucina looked at her room. It instantly reminded her of home. She noticed on a little nightstand what appeared to be a schedule. She looked it over and noticed that Marth was scheduled for a brawl tomorrow morning. She flipped through the pages and saw that she wasn't doing a brawl until the end of the week. "That's nice." Lucina thought. "I think I'll say hi to Marth before he starts his brawl tomorrow." Then she settled down and went to sleep. It took her a while to, though. She kept hearing strange, muffled noises from behind her door. But she eventually fell asleep.
"Well today was certainly interesting." remarked Ike sitting down on his bed.
"It definitely was." said Marth. "I think I'll go up to his room tomorrow before my brawl and ask what's going on."
The next day...
Lucina woke up for the first time in ages without having nightmares. The sun shone through the windows and the birds were singing. Lucina looked around and yawned."This is almost unreal." She quickly got up and geared up again and set out to explore a bit. When she stepped out of the room, she noticed the ground underneath her seemed hollow. She decided to ignore it for now. What she didn't realize was that it was a trap for her, but Wario had fallen asleep and failed to hear Lucina walk over it.
Lucina quickly realized that she woke up way before everyone else. She was always that sort of person. She walked down to the cafeteria and ate her breakfast in silence. After that, Lucina decided to look around outside and check out the arenas.
Marth woke up, well not really. He didn't sleep at all the previous night. He spent all night thinking about the mysterious swordsman. Eventually he thought it was late enough in the morning to go up to the swordsman's room.
When Marth reached the door he knocked. "Hello? Are you up yet?" Then he slapped himself. "Stupid me! Of course not! What was I thinking? Well, he might be soon at this rate..."
While Marth wasn't really waking up Lucina, he did do a good job of waking up Wario. Thinking it was the new brawler, he quickly pulled the rope that would open the trap.
"I was just hoping to talk a lit-WAAA!" Marth yelled as he went tumbling into the pit. "Ouch, I guess he likes his booby traps too..." he muttered under his breath.
Meanwhile, Wario and Bowser were feeling pretty good with themselves and decided to go and storm the cafeteria for fun. Just to remind everyone who the real villains were.
After Lucina gave herself a tour of the area, she realized that it would soon be time for Marth's brawl. So she started heading over to the stadium. "I can't believe I'm actually going to talk to him!" she thought excitedly. "This is going to be so cool!"
After sitting there for a good while, she looked at the time in the stadium entrance and realized that Marth was late. "Wonder where he is?" she wondered. "Tiki never mentioned that he was the type of person to be late..."
"HELP!" shouted Marth. "CAN SOMEONE GET ME OUT OF HERE?" Poor Marth was stuck. He might have been able to climb out, but the sides of the pit had been greased. "A nice personal touch," Marth muttered to himself. "It could be a while before I get out of here. And I was supposed to be at the Brawl already. Today has so not been my day."
Lucina wasn't sure what to do. Should she go look for Marth? Or should she just wait and maybe he'd turn up? She didn't know. Then suddenly she heard crazy laughter. "Not again..." Lucina thought. "Not that Crazy Hand..."
"There you are Marth!" Crazy Hand shrieked. "We have been looking all over for you! You're late! Come on let's go!"
"Crazy Hand, I'm not Marth. I'm-"
Lucina was promptly interrupted. "No excuses! Now come on, no time to waste! And nice mask by the way. It suits you. Now, we REALLY should be going." At that remark Crazy Hand picked up Lucina and started carrying her to the arena. (Well he is a hand.)
Although Lucina kept trying to tell Crazy Hand that she wasn't actually Marth, it was futile. Before she knew it, Lucina was front-and-center of the entire stadium.
"Ladies and gentleman!" an announcer started to say. "Thank you for your patience, now we can begin! So as you know, this is a Hundred-Man-Brawl. Few have ever walked out of this challenge in one piece! The rules are simple: take down 100 people, before they take you down!"
"What?!" thought Lucina panicking. "Oh, crap. Today hasn't really been my day today, has it?" She quickly drew her sword and got ready to face whatever adversary might come at her.
Looks like Lucina is in a bit of a pickle! As always, I appreciate reviews and stay tuned until the next chapter!
