Author's note: I don't own any of these characters.
"Hey Marth!" yelled Ike as he chased after Marth. "Wait up!"
Ike ran off leaving Peach alone. Peach walked into the now-empty arena. She looked around and sighed. Then she noticed something shiny in the corner of her eye. "Oh, it's his mask," Peach realized. She picked it up to look at it more closely. "Perhaps I should return this to him..." she picked up the edge of her pink gown off the ground and started running.
Ike quickly caught up to Marth. "Hey! You look pretty upset."
"Of course I'm upset!" said Marth trying to suppress his anger. "He got pulled in there by a mistake, and who knows what kind of shape he's in now? I have to go see him! I couldn't stand to see him die because of that..." he trailed off slowly.
"I'm coming with you!" said Ike. "Anyone that beat me like he did earns my respect!" The two continued to run.
"So what happened in the match between the two of you?" asked Marth. "You make it sound like he had an epic finish."
"Well, when the announcer called me in, he seemed almost reluctant to fight me. But when I had him grasping on the ledge..."
In the Hand's Office...
"Is she alright?" asked Crazy Hand. "Of all things I've done wrong..."
"Yes," replied Master Hand. "Lucina just collapsed from sheer exhaustion and shock. I think something about Ike falling like that badly shook her up. Lucina is strong though, she should be fine in a couple of hours."
Lucina laid in her bed tossing and turning from an awful nightmare. She kept watching her friends getting killed by Grima over and over again. "But we defeated you!" Lucina would shout. "My mother made sure of it!"
The fell dragon threw its head back as if he was scoffing. "So she thought!" Then suddenly Grima charged at her. "Now, it's your turn...to DIE!"
"NOOOO!" Lucina gasped. She looked up to see a nurse standing over her looking quite concerned.
"Looks like you had a pretty bad nightmare. You get those a lot?"
"I don't have them very often," lied Lucina, still feeling a little groggy. "Thanks for your concern, but I'm fine."
The nurse didn't appear to be convinced. She was about to reply when the phone beside them rang. She picked it up, answered some questions, and then looked back at Lucina. "Well it appears that you have some visitors! Would you like to see them now?"
Lucina hesitated, but then she replied. "Sure, that would be great."
"Maybe it will be Marth..." she thought drowsily. Lucina turned over and started to drift off again.
The nurse at the receptionist's desk looked at Marth and Ike. "Yup, you can see her now. Floor six, room 31."
"Wait a moment. Her?!"asked Marth sounding shocked.
The receptionist looked at Marth. "You sound surprised."
"Well yeah..." Marth trailed off. "Anyways, thank you!"
Marth and Ike started to climb the stairs. Ike turned to Marth. "Her?! The swordsman was a woman?!"
"Apparently so," replied Marth. "Now I'm really curious as to see who he... *ahem* she is."
"Alright, this must be it," remarked Ike looking at the door. "Guess we can go in." They walked in and the two Fire Emblem swordsmen gasped. Poor Lucina was having another nightmare.
"She's just a girl!" said Marth. "And it looks like she's having a nightmare!"
Ike quickly ran over and bent down in front of Lucina. "Hey, hey, wake up! It's just a dream! It isn't real!"
Lucina saw in her nightmare Grima coming at her again. He was just on top of her when he roared in pain and disappeared. A mysterious figure in the shadows stared at her. "Come on! Get up! Don't lose hope!" it shouted. Lucina then suddenly woke up. She looked at the two people in the room.
"Pr-Priam?" Lucina asked staring at Ike. "Is that you? What...what are you doing here?" Lucina asked, sounding confused.
Ike looked at her. "Priam? Who's Priam?"
Lucina then woke up a little more to see who it was. "Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you were someone else... And um, sorry about knocking you off the edge like that."
Ike smiled. "Hey, no worries!"
Lucina sat up and looked to see who was standing behind Marth. "Marth..." she said slowly. "Is that really you?"
Marth walked up to where Lucina was lying. "Yes..."
Lucina breathed a sigh of relief and started laughing softly. "It's actually you! *sniff* I've always wanted to meet you!" Lucina started tearing up so she stopped talking.
"Hey now, don't cry!" said Marth smiling while brushing the girl's blue hair out of her face. "So what's your name?"
The girl sat up and looked at Marth and smiled. "Lucina. My name is Lucina."
"Well, Lucina," said Ike cutting into the conversation. "Looks like you'll have quite the story to tell us!"
"Yes. It appears I do." Said Lucina smiling. "I think they said I can leave this place in a couple of hours. I will tell you everything then. Everything."
Suddenly the door burst open. In the doorway stood a very exhausted Peach. "Well, thanks for waiting for me!" Peach pouted. "So I brought his mask...Oh! I guess more like her mask! Surprise surprise..."
Lucina's eyes lit up. "So that's what became of it! Thank you...err...um...what's your name?"
The princess gave a little curtsey. "I am Peach. Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom! Nice to meet you!"
"Nice to meet you too!" replied the girl smiling. "My name's Lucina. Thank you for bringing my mask back. Someone...special gave it to me and I would have been sad if I had lost it forever."
"Not a problem!" said Peach.
"Well, I guess we'll see you back at the Smash Mansion later then?" asked Marth.
"I guess so," replied Lucina. "I'll see you then."
Ike and Peach walked out of the room. Marth walked up to the doorway and turned around. "Oh Lucina, one more thing, try not to get any nightmares. Okay?"
Lucina smiled and nodded. "Don't worry about me."
Satisfied, Marth walked out of the room.
Lucina had never been so excited. "I can't wait to get back!" she thought excitedly.
On the way back to the Smash Mansion, Peach looked at Marth and started to laugh. "Well, it looks like you have a serious fan!"
"Hey, knock it off Peach!" said Marth. "It's not like that!"
Ike slapped him on the shoulder. "Yeah, yeah. Whatever you say. I liked the bit where you pushed her hair back."
Marth started to blush. "Hey..."
The princess and the mercenary looked at each other and started laughing.
"Just kidding Marth," said Ike apologizing. "It didn't seem to be that way. But what I'm curious about is the fact she looked like you."
"Believe me I noticed." Marth commented. "No surprise that is why she was able to pull off that disguise of me so well. She probably had done it before too."
Marth then noticed the setting sun in the sky. "It looks like we might not hear Lucina's story until tomorrow."
Peach yawned. "Well, I guess I'll see you guys tomorrow!" Then she started skipping past them into the Smash Mansion.
"See you tomorrow!" said Ike waving.
Meanwhile...
Wario and Bowser were confused. How had they captured the wrong person? They were still happy to have captured Marth though.
"It's always fun to pick on him," said Bowser. "But we didn't get the new loser!"
"In a way...you sort of did." Said a mysterious voice.
"AHH!" yelled the two villains. "Who's there?"
Ganondorf walked up to them "You goons! It's only me!"
Wario looked at Ganondorf. "We got him?! *ahem* I mean! Of course we got him!"
Ganondorf sighed. "You guys are hopeless... But anyways, with Marth in that pitfall trap you made, the new brawler got thrown in a brawl by mistake! I must hand it to you...that was pretty good!"
Bowser did what you could call a smirk. "Well what did you expect? We're the villains!"
Wario cheered. "Yeah! Now, we need to come up with some more schemes. I'm thinking a stink bomb!"
Bowser started to laugh. "Love it! Let's get started!"
Ganondorf face-palmed. "They are hopeless..." he muttered under his breath.
