"Naru-Hello?-Earth to Naruto!" Kiba yelled into his friends ear his hand still waving in front it the blondes face. This seemed to snap Naruto out of his daze seeing as he screamed bloody murder then fell off his chair in his fright landing on the floor.
"What the hell man?!" Naruto yelled as he looked around the room in confusion. Oh yeah he was in home room, he must have zoned out or something. Standing up Naruto rubbed at his now sore ass before sitting down in his seat.
"So are you going to answer my question now?" Kiba asked looking at Naruto expectantly.
"Sorry what question?" Naruto asked confused, he didn't remember Kiba ever asking him a question. He could have sworn that he heard Kiba mutter a dumbass as he shook his head.
"I asked how was your little date on Friday?" Kiba asked giving Nima knowing smirk.
"Yeah," Sakura laughed maliciously as she sat down at the other desk beside Naruto obviously having overheard their conversation. "I bet the loser was a hoot." Sakura said sarcastically. "Probably bored you to death or better yet did he do anything weird."
"I would just like to remind you that that "loser"-" Gaara said as he sat at the desk in front of Naruto, putting emphasis on the word loser to make his distaste for calling Sasuke that evident. "-is the guy that you were crushing in since the beginning of fifth grade all the way up to last year." Gaara pointed out as he crossed his arms over his chest and glared at the pinkette. Sakura only scoffed and turned back to Naruto waiting for an answer.
Naruto felt all of their eyes turn to him. He started to feel fidgety under their gaze, he felt a churning sensation in the pit of his stomach and he didn't like it. "It was fine." He said sliding back in his chair.
"Oh come on he must have done something juicy!" Sakura protested as she leant forward in her chair pushing her -or what little of- chest forward. What she was trying to accomplish with that other than pointing out she had a tiny chest, Naruto didn't know and instead of looking towards her chest like he usually would he found himself diverting his gaze in- disgust? What no.
"Yeah c'mon he must have done something weird, I bet he's into all that dark emo shit." Kiba laughed. Naruto just remained silent, he didn't really want to think why but he felt so angry at his friends for making fun of Sasuke. It had never bothered him before. Well that was before he for to know Sasuke a little more and found out that he was quite a cool guy, and the way he looked when he smiled- what? No, no, no, no; he was not thinking that. Sasuke's his friend-is he allowed to call him that? Well, he'd like to. He shouldn't be thinking things like that. Maybe it was just because his friends were talking trash about Sasuke so he just started thinking about all the good things about him. Yeah, that must be it.
"So I'm taking that your still on your Naruto high." Neji smirked as he looked at Sasuke's happy expression, to most he just looked like his blank usual self but Neji had known him long enough to know that Sasuke was practically glowing. "Seriously if I didn't know you any better I would've thought that you had just lost your virginity not gone on a measly date." Neji teased. "But as fate would have it you're destined to remain a virgin for a while longer." That earned him a hard shove.
"No but seriously you do look really happy." Neji pointed out seriously, happy for his friend.
"Well yeah I've liked him for a while and now he's actually shown interest and asked me out! I had a great time and I think he did too." Sasuke pointed out as he closed his locker and started walking I his first period class, chemistry. Oh great they were getting new lab partners today, now he would have to work with some idiot rather than with Neji.
"No to mention he was about to kiss you~" Neji whispered in a teasing sing song voice in Sasuke's ear.
"Yeah until Itachi ruined everything." Sasuke grumbled as he glared at a random person passing by them. The student recoiled, walking away quickly in fear and confusion.
"I don't know Sasuke. Build them up then leave them high and dry, make sure they come crawling back for more." Neji said winking at Sasuke before he walked into the chemistry classroom beelining for the teacher.
Sasuke shook his head with a chuckle and muttered "Such a tease." before heading on into the classroom. Looking around Sasuke was met with the sight of a bunch of students walking around the room aimlessly looking at the desks. Looking towards the whiteboard Sasuke. Or iced the message in their teachers hand writing who was currently talking to Neji at his desk.
'New assigned seats, names are on desks. Don't even try to move them I know where you've been assigned anyone who tries to switch them will be getting a detention.' Sasuke groaned as he made his way around the room looking for his seat, "Haruno, H. Hyuga, Inuzuka, Aburame... Where the hell was his name? Ms. Laoudi usually assigned him in the front in both Chemistry and French, she knew that he liked being there. Walking to the front he approached their young teacher. She had long strawberry blonde hair that had been pulled up into a loose bun, her fringe draping over her forehead nicely, he red rimmed glasses sat upon her slightly chubby face. She was wearing her usually dress shirt and black skinny jeans.
"Thought it was against dress code for teachers to wear jeans." Sasuke said. She took her gaze off her computer screen and peered down at Sasuke. Ms. Laoudi was one of those teachers that everyone liked and respected, she was only 22 and really cool but the students knew not to mess with her because her bite was way worse that her bark.
"Pfft, I'm too young to be wearing dress clothes, besides Tsunade doesn't care she breaks the dress code all the time with her chest flying about everywhere- don't tell her I said that. So, I know you didn't just come to all to me about my pants; what's up? She asked standing up, she was medium height, maybe a centimeter taller than Sasuke. Honestly she could pass off as one of them easily. Hell, the first week she started teaching here she pretended to be a student and scared some of the students when they realized that they had been talking smack about the new teacher to the teacher's face. Kiba's face was priceless.
"I wanted to know why I wasn't in the front this quarter." Sasuke stated.
"Ah, yeah sorry about that but I had to move you to the back-and don't give me that look you have a perfect score in both of my classes and there are people I really need up the front so I can keep an eye on them and make sure the actually do and understand the work. Your seats in the back corner, don't worry though I know this won't affect your grades Sasuke. And I have a feeling that you won't mind sitting there once you meet you're lab partner." She smiled innocently as she glanced over behind him. Turning his head around he glared as he caught a smirking Neji sitting next to a bored looking Gaara.
That little- Sasuke let out a huff as he made his way to the table in the back of the room. Sitting down he didn't even bother looking at the name on the seat beside him, Neji had probably made sure he was sat next to an insufferable idiot. He bets its revenge for that one time Sasuke spilt Neji's apple juice back in middle school. Neji didn't look like it but he was one of those people who tended to hold a grudge, he probably had gotten that from being around Sasuke for too long.
"Hey teme." Naruto said with a smile as he sat down next to Sasuke. Sasuke's head shot up and looked directly at Naruto. Maybe he needed to thank Neji instead.
"Hey dobe." Sasuke smirked at the blonde. Wait that meant that Neji was now in cahoots with one of his teachers. Well that's just lovely.
"So teme-" Naruto started, leaning on his elbows and forearms which were now on top of the table when Ms. Laoudi interpreted them.
"Okay class- Kiba! You and Miss Haruno better get to your correct seats unless you want to be in detention, Orochimaru's detention." She said pointedly which got Kiba scrambling out of his seat and to his designated spot next to Shino. Hinata shyly scooted from the seat Kiba had made her sit in to the sat beside Sakura. Sakura made a sour face. "That's it Miss Haruno detention!" Ms. Laoudi said sternly. Sasuke internally snickered, hey the girl had stalked him for years then once they hit high school and Sasuke had been shunned to nerdism he had though that for sure the attention seeking leach would finally leave him alone, but no she kept at it until last year when he didn't even knew what happened. All he knew was that he was glad that it was over and he was finally free of her an able to wallow In his unrequited crush on Naruto without pink haired, small chested disruptions.
"S'not like I'm scared of Orochimaru anyway." She grumbled.
"Oh don't worry you'll be there with me after school today." Ms. Laoudi sassed back.
"But I have-"
"You have plenty of time to jump around in little to no clothing, I'm sure it won't kill you and you'll probably do everyone a favor by missing practice just this once to spend an hour in detention with me writing the phrase 'I won't be a bitch because they have larger breasts than I.' until your hand falls off. You understand?" She glared at the pink haired girl.
Sasuke could hear the snickers of the students around him. You see this was the thing he was talking about earlier, the about crossing their wonderful young French teacher. Apparently every had learned not to, all except for Sakura. Her glare moved from Sakura to the snickering students and that instantly shut them up.
"As I was saying-" she said switching back to her cheery tone as if what had just occurred had never even happened. "-we'll be doing a lab over the span of this week, I will had out the packets, they have all the information that you will need. Your task for today is to work with your new partners and come up with a procedure for the experiment. You have the whole class, use your time wisely because trust me some of you need all you can get. When you think you've finished bring it to me, I'll look over it and send you back if it isn't god enough but, I won't be telling you what you've got wrong or needs improvement. That you'll have to figure out for yourselves. At the end of the class you'll be turning them in, finished or not, and yes they will be graded." She explained as she passed out a packet to each table.
"Good luck." She said as she gave Naruto and Sasuke the last packet. "Not that you two will need it!" She whispered to them as she tapped the top of he packet with her hands. She was right, within the first 15-20 minutes Naruto and Sasuke had read through the packet and had written up a procedure.
"Wow, I never would have pegged you as the chemist type dobe." Sasuke said looking over at Naruto with a calculation look.
Naruto laughed as he playfully pushed at Sasuke's shoulder. "Shut up teme, I'm full of surprises."
"Oh really?" Sasuke smirked raising a brow.
"Oh just go give her the procedure." Naruto said with a smile, pushing the standing Sasuke towards the front of the class. Walking up to the front Sasuke handed Ms. Laoudi their paper. Scanning over it she smiled up at him. "Perfect as usual, great work Sasuke, you too Uzumaki!" She smiled at the blonde behind him. "You're free to do whatever you want as long as it doesn't disturb the class." She said dismissing him as she turned back to her computer. To do who knows what. Even if he could see the screen he wouldn't be able to read it seeing as it would all be in French way above his level of understanding of the language.
Walking back over to the table he looked at Naruto to see the blonde fiddling with a pencil, doodling away in his notebook. As Sasuke was just about to take a peek at what the blonde was drawing Naruto snapped his notebook closed and looked over to Sasuke. "Hey, I'm bored. Do you want to get out of here?"
"You mean skip the rest class?" Sasuke asked hesitantly.
"Not really, well kind of...ok it's hard to explain just stay here." Naruto said before getting up and making his way to the front.
"Hey Miss L?" Naruto asked leaning against her desk.
"What can I do for you Uzumaki?" She asked not glancing up from her desk.
"May Sasuke and I go to the library? Ya know since we're done with everything..." Naruto Continued trailing off at the end.
"You want me to sign a note for my two best students to wonder around the school for the rest of the period and just assume they've gone to the library?" She asked with a raised eyebrow. "Well I don't see why not." she smiled. Signing a piece of paper she handed them over to Naruto.
Sasuke watched as Naruto made his way to the door of the classroom, looking over he smiled wide at Sasuke motioning for him to follow. Standing up he glanced towards Ms. Laoudi she only smiled and turned back to her papers she was grading. Quietly Sasuke exited the classroom and looked around the halls in confusion.
"C'mon teme this way!" Naruto said as he grabbed Sasuke's wrist and pulled him down the hall.
Ah, so sorry for the long wait, I've had this chapter just sitting here! I thought that I had already uploaded it. Silly me, well I hope you enjoyed the chapter and I will be uploading the next chapter tomorrow. I hope to be uploading more frequently now that it is summer and I have finished moving!
