"Dobe where are you taking me?" Sasuke asked as Naruto pulled him through the many halls of the school.
"Sheesh, be patient teme we're almost there!" Naruto exclaimed turning his head back to smile at Sasuke before focusing on what was in front of him again. Sasuke was slightly confused as Naruto took him down hall where he had never been before, hell he didn't even knew existed. "It just through here." There was so excitement in Naruto's voice as he dragged Sasuke through a set of double doors and up a set of staircases.
"Tada!" Naruto exclaimed as he burst through the door at the top of the stairs. Pushing past Naruto Sasuke gasped a little. The view was breathtaking, the majority of the town laid out before them.
"How'd you even find this done?" Sasuke asked amazed. He walked over to stand beside Naruto who was now leaning against the railing on the edge if the roof top; Sasuke doing the same.
"Eh, back in the ninth grade I used to wander around the school during my lunch and breaks, back before I joined the football team. I used to come up here every day and eat lunch, it's a good place to just relax and think a little." The blonde smiled softly and scratched the back of his head almost as if he were embarrassed.
"What changed?" Sasuke asked subconsciously leaning closer to the blonde.
"When I joined the team things started to change for me; they were always telling me to eat lunch with them and when I finally gave in, they just started to take over my life you know? It was around that time that I met Kiba and the rest of my friends. Well, all except Gaara, we've been friends since middle school. I still try and come up here as much as I can, but you know how things just come up last minute or things just get in the way." Naruto explained staring off at the landscape.
"Yeah, I know." And Sasuke really did know after his mother had passed his father had stopped coming home some nights, staying back at the office and drowning himself in his work. Don't get him wrong Sasuke understood why his father did it and he still needed to provide for the family and he was a good father it's just that Sasuke never got to see him anymore. Especially since he's been gone on more trip as of late always saying that things have come up and he won't be able to make it home for the holidays.
"So, what we're you going to say earlier?" Sasuke asked.
"What?" Naruto looked over to Sasuke confused.
"In class, you were about to say something but you were cut off?" Sasuske said trying to remind the blonde.
"Oh yeah!" Naruto exclaimed with a sheepish smile on his face. His hand came up to scratch the back of his head. "Uh, I was just going to say that we never planned a day for our next date, and that the other night I forgot to give you my number."
"Oh."
"Yeah, do you have your phone with you-unless you don't want to! That's fine!" Naruto quickly interjected.
Sasuke chuckled. "No, it's fine, I want to." Sasuke smiled as he dug through his pocket to find his phone, finding it he handed it over to Naruto. Naruto felt a burst of warmth and nerves in his chest when his habd brushed over Sasuke's. Dismissing it quickly Naruto programmed his number into the phone and there was ping from Naruto's pocket not shortly after. Taking out his phone Naruto's smile widened.
"There, now you have my number and I have yours-oh shit. We're going to be late for class. I'll text you later yeah?" Naruto asked as they made their way off the roof top. Sasuke nodded with a small smile before they parted ways.
"See ya later teme!"
"Oh my god, I thought you couldn't possibly seem happier than you did this morning. But, obviously I was wrong." Neji said as Sasuke sat beside his best friend at their usual lunch table. "Seriously it's kind of annoying." All Neji got in response was another shove to the shoulder. Sheesh, what a violent child. Ow! Ops did he just-?
"Yes you did just say that out loud." Sasuke stated biting into his tomato sandwich.
"And you thought the best way to prove me wrong was to be violent?" Neji asked in amusement.
"Shut up." Sasuke grumbled.
"Hey where were you in chem. today. You just disappeared. Wait is that why you look so happy? What the hell happened?!" Neji asked and if anyone was to point out the slight excitement in his voice then he would deny it until his last living breath p.
"Nothing." Sasuke said as he continued to eat his food.
"Oh stop lying to me Sasuke, I know something happened so tell me before I have to go and find out myself." Neji threatened.
"Fine." Sasuke sighed, Neji scooted a little closer as if it would make any difference. "Naruto and I got a hall pass from Ms. Laoudi and went up to the roof for the rest of the period." Sasuke admitted sheepishly.
"Ooooooo, alone on the roof with Naruto." Neji wiggled his eyebrows at the raven.
"Oh shut up! Nothing happened, we just talked. Andwemayormaynothaveexchangedphonenumbers." Sasuke rushed out hoping Neji wouldn't hear.
"You guys exchanged phone numbers?!" Neji exclaimed, definitely not excitedly. "Look at you Sasuke getting into a relationship." Neji teased. Ow, that boy really needed to stop shoving people.
"Naruto what's up with you man?" Kiba asked, this attracted the rest of the tables expression.
"What do you mean?" Naruto asked defensively, woah why did he need to be defensive?
"You have this kind of..." Kiba paused looking for the right words to describe it, "...dopey smile. You've had it since second period and it's really starting to freak me out man. I haven't seen you like this, like, ever." He pointed out.
"Yeah what's up with that?" Ino piped up leaning over the table to get a better look at Naruto. Naruto stared at them all with a confused expression. What were they talking about? He wasn't smiling- but he was. What's up with that? Naruto was now extremely confused and this frustrated him. There was a flurry of mixed emotions that he didn't understand and it was all just so confusing.
"I don't know what your talking about." Naruto said standing up.
"Hey Naruto Man! Where the hell are you going." But Naruto ignored the calls, running a hand through his hair he exited the cafeteria. He really need to sort all of this out.
