Amy and Rory stood in their kitchen of their apartment.
"So Rory, I was thinking…"
"There's a shock."
"Oi! Be nice!" Amy elbowed Rory in the ribs.
"I was thinking about… maybe adopting a child." Amy wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Oh. Amy you don't have to do that…"
"I want to." She stared into his eyes.
"Okay." He shook his head
"Absoulutely. Let's adopt a child." He smiled as Amy kissed him.
….
"We have a four year old boy in right now and a 6 month year old girl." The woman said smiling warmly at the Ponds.
"Can we meet the four year old please?" Amy and Rory agreed they wanted an older boy.
"Sure. He's a bit shy." The woman walked into one of the bedrooms.
"Tony? Tony? There's someone here to meet you."
"Amelia, Rory this is Anthony." Out of the bedroom walked a redheaded boy with suspenders and a bowtie.
"Hello. It's very nice to meet you." Amy laughed tears streaming down her face
"Your hair is orange." He noted in a lispy voice, Amy suddenly rembered her conversation with the famous painter. She took Anthony's hand
"So is yours."
"Are you here to adopt me?" Anthony asked smiling
"If it's okay with you." Rory said.
"I'm Amy and this is Rory. You can call us…"
"Mummy! Daddy!" Anthony shouted happily
"I need you to sign a couple of papers first." The lady smiled
…
"Mummy? Can you tell me a story?" Tony asked. Suddenly, Amy had an idea.
"Once upon a time there was a man. A raggedy man in a traveled throughout space… and a little girl that waited for him with a crack in her wall…"
And there they were smiling with a child somewhere in Manhattan.
Happy tears were streaming down my face as I wrote this everyhting just fell in place.
