A Monster Grows

Azula may have not loved Zuzu as much as she did their mother, but when their mother left and Ozai was the only one left to take care of them, Azula realised how much she didn't hate Zuzu as much as Ozai. Oh, sure, Azula continued to taunt and tease Zuzu, but now they shared the same pain: the pain of the loss of the only parent who loved them. She may have still be getting lessons, personal lessons from Ozai, but that was only to learn everything Ozai could teach her, learning all of his tricks inside and out, before she would have her revenge. And maybe she still thought of Zuzu as weak, but...

She had never wanted this.

Azula clenched her fists in anger underneath the wall, where Ozai wouldn't see, as she watched Zuzu grovel and cry before Ozai. She was one of the few that knew went on in the war room through her own spying and Zuzu had the right idea, even if it was through soft-heartedness rather than logic. After all, an assault from the back would not work nearly as well as the stupid general would have hoped, since the enemy could raise earthen walls that would stop the flames before long and then they would lose two platoons of soldiers and, with them, some morale.

But Zuzu had said his disagreement at the wrong time and with the wrong reasoning, and so now this.

Azula smiled when Ozai seared Zuko's face, because she was expected to enjoy Zuko's pain, but knew that his screams would follow her into her dreams. And if Zuko turned into her and she was burning burning and didn't stop, well, she would know what would happen if she failed in her revenge didn't she?

Azula continued to smile when Ozai banished Zuko publicly in front of the audience, while Zuko's cries of pains were slowly being stifled, and she was slightly amazed at how he didn't pass out yet despite the pain he must have been in. She knew that the fool Iroh would follow his favourite nephew. Now it would just be her and Ozai, with her still pretending to being the perfect daughter.

For banishing Mother, for hurting and banishing Zuko, Azula would have her revenge. And Ozai just made his first mistake.

A/N: So, I wasn't planning on doing anything more in this universe, but inspiration suddenly hit and I just had to write this. Of course, this happened when my sister stole my laptop because inspiration hit *her* for a poem. -shrugs-

Yeah, this isn't as good as "A Monster" but "sequels" rarely are.
