I quietly moaned and shifted my weight, pulling myself up. Who would be here at this time of night, especially after they had all had their chance to question me earlier? I wasn't sure who I was expecting, but it was Kelsey who was standing outside my door.
"Can I help you?" I tried to sound polite.
"I was wondering if I could talk with you, alone," She shot a pointed glare down the hall, no doubt to an uneasy tiger. A soft grumble could be heard before retreating footsteps. She was still in her shorts and tee shirt from earlier. I, on the other hand, was wearing sweats and a large shirt I had barrowed. Not my best look.
"Sure," I gestured her in. "Did you talk to Cia?"
"No. You were the one talking earlier, so I figured you might tell me more if it was just between us." I nodded at her to continue. She gave a brief smile. Her chocolate eyes almost showed how uncomfortable she was for a moment. She recovered quickly though. "I was wondering how exactly your notebook worked."
I turned my head to look out to the navy sky and pulled my legs up to my chest on the bed. "I write in it and it comes true I guess."
"So you could use it to make something appear or disappear?"
"I guess. I never really tried."
"Could it cure world hunger?"
"I don't think so."
"Could you use it to teleport?"
"I guess that is what I did earlier today."
I was noticing how beautiful the color of the night sky was when Kelsey said something that caught my full attention. I glanced back at her. Had I heard her right? Was it possible?
"What?" I asked? I was dumbfound. How come I didn't think of it at the start?
"Could the notebook lift the Tiger's Curse?" He eyes were so big and pleading. I gained a newfound respect for her. She wasn't in it for the adventure, she really cared for both men. To my horror, I quickly realized I didn't want the curse gone. I wanted to go on magical quests and get the gifts. I wanted the adventure, the freedom, and most of all, I wanted someone to need me. I wanted the tigers to need me. I knew it was wrong, and I didn't know the real answer. Deep down, I realized they would hate me if they found out, but I said it anyways.
"No, it can't."
Sorry for such a short chapter. School is back, and I had forgotten the story. Any reviews are welcome. They remind me to write and give me my motivation. Plus! I need name ideas. As always, love you guys,
