Three words: Serious writers block. I could definitely use some help to update faster. School and work can be a pain especially when I try to write.
I do not, nor will I ever, own Austin & Ally.
Ally's POV
"Austin! That isn't fair. You cheated!"
He shot me a huge grin.
"I didn't cheat. My tail is just stronger than yours, so I swim faster."
I pretended to pout for a short while before I smacked him on the back of the head.
"Ow!" he yelled as he grasped the abused spot.
"How is that for strong?"
In that moment, I raced out of the cave, never bothering to look behind me. When I glanced to my right, I saw a flash of blonde and gold.
"Race ya!"
He was heading in the direction of the glass platform, where we first met each other. It was like I suddenly had a burst of adrenaline and I thrashed my tail even harder. I beat him onto the platform.
As soon as I sat on the flat piece of glass, I heard a thump come from below me. Austin's head popped out of the water. He was holding the crown of his head.
"First I hit my head on the cave's wall and now I hit it on the glass? How can my day get any worse?"
"Well...you also got beat in a race by a girl."
He crossed his arms and rolled his eyes.
"Whatever. You had a head start. So, basically, you cheated."
Everyday is like this now that I'm part fish. Sometimes I miss being around my foster mom, Rose. She always took care of me and she is really nice. Even though I miss her, she still visits me every once in a while.
I'm surprised nobody noticed that I'm in here, especially the manager or the janitor. They both know what I look like and if they saw me, they would know that something was up.
"Don't be such a baby, Austin. If you want, we can race again," I suggested.
He grinned and uncrossed his arms.
"Alright. But no more head starts."
"Geez! You're so demanding! Fine, no head starts."

Narrator's POV
Austin jumped into the water with a giant splash. He swam as fast as he could down towards the bottom of the tank. When he reached the artificial sea bed, he laid in a casual way with his arms behind his head.
"Beat ya, Ally!" he shouted when he saw that she was nowhere in sight.
But there was no answer.
He waited and waited but she never came around.
"Ally?" he called again. But still no answer.
He bolted up from the ground and checked the cave.
"Ally?"
She wasn't in there. Austin checked behind some seaweed. Nothing there but a rock.
"Where are you, Ally?"
"Boo!"
A hand slapped him on the back.
"Ahh!" he screamed.
He gave Ally a very stern look.
"Ally, that is not funny!"
Ally, however, was laughing so hard that she couldn't breathe.
"That's payback for scaring me earlier."
He pouted, which was actually really cute.
"At least I didn't make you worry about me."
Her expression changed to something more sincere.
"You were worried about me?"
"Nope."
Ally scoffed and swam over to a patch of seaweed, ripped off a big amount, and then she swam to the top of the tank where the platform was. Austin trailed after her.
As she reached the top, Ally carefully wrapped each piece of seaweed around her body until it covered every inch of her. She pulled off the pearl necklace that Austin had given her. Then her tail slowly transformed back into a pair of legs.
"Where are you going?" Austin asked Ally when she stood on the platform.
"Don't worry about it," she replied with frustration.
"Ally...I was just kidding."
But she didn't listen.
"You do realize that people are going to look at you funny with all of that seaweed clinging to you," he chuckled.
"I'll take my chances with them!" she yelled back.
Ally's POV
Austin was right about the stares. I just ignored them because all I wanted to do was get out of there. Walking felt new to me since I had a tail for the past three months. The next thing I knew I was at the front door of my old home.
Knock, Knock.
"Hey, Ally."
Rose. My foster mother. She is like my second mother as far as I'm concerned.
"What are you doing here? Where is Austin?"
I pursed my lips and said,"Nothing Rose. I'm just here to see my favorite person in the whole world."
~Time Break~
"So, you and Austin are fighting again."
It wasn't even a question because it was already obvious.
"It's not really a fight. Just giving him time to splash around in his little pond."
