"Should we move her?"
"No dude! When will we ever see a girl like this again?"
"Good point-" The two boys were cut of by the girl groaning awake, she opened her eyes slowly, taking in her surroundings.
"Good morning beautiful." One of the boys greeted with a sly smirk on his face, the girl scowled and slapped him across the face. The boy was knocked off his feet, whilst he lay there moaning in pain the girl had kicked the other boy to the ground as she got up.
"Perverts." She grumbled before walking away, when she got to the edge of the wall she turned around to admire the scenery. She wondered where Kol had gone. Why had he left her? And why did she care so much that he wasn't here to ward away the two boys, not that she couldn't do it herself. She hopped over the wall with a sigh and went to walk home but stopped. She couldn't go home, she was too ashamed. Ashamed in Cara for falling for Elijah, ashamed at herself for doing the same with Kol and ashamed of facing Cara after storming off.
"I have nowhere to go, I'm hungry and I'm tired." Isabel mentally complained, there was an endless list of things she could complain about but she figured it would be more beneficial to her if she found food. She contemplated on going back and snacking on the perverts in the green, but decided she didn't want to go near them. Instead, she decided to go to someone's house, someone who she never thought she would be calling for. When Isabel arrived at the house she took a deep breath before knocking the door, she could hear rustling from inside and a pair of heels hitting the ground in footsteps. The door opened to reveal a shocked face at the sight of Isabel at their front door.
"Isabel? What are you doing here?" The young blonde vampire asked.
"It's a long story..." Isabel began, she told Caroline about everything that happened, she was unsure what had made her confide in the girl, but she did. She was also quite grateful that Caroline didn't slam the door in her face the moment she started talking. "I understand completely if you don't want to let me in, but I really just needed someone to talk to and I thought, considering you saved me, you might listen." Caroline bit her lip, as if thinking about letting her in but held up her index finger.
"Just give me one moment." And with that she disappeared down the hallway and into another room, Isabel stood at the door waiting. Caroline appeared moments later with her coat on, she grabbed her keys and bag before walking out the front door and shutting it behind her.
"Where are we going?" Isabel asked, confused as to why Caroline was even going to be seen with her.
"Mystic Grill, you need someone to talk to and I need to give you an explanation as to why I saved you." Caroline told her as she unlocked the car and they both got in.
After a short drive they pulled up outside The Grill, it didn't look overly crowded from the outside, so that was a good sign of privacy.
"Are you sure you want to be seen with me, like in public?" Isabel asked, Caroline gave a small smile.
"To be honest, even though I've heard a lot of stories about you, you've never done anything to physically or emotionally harm me, so I don't see why I should hate you." Caroline told her, Isabel felt something inside her when she said those words, what was it, happiness, no, no, it couldn't have. They both got out of the car and walked towards the building, Caroline locked the car before they walked in the door. Isabel scanned the area for people they may know, and of course, who just happens to be sitting at the bar, the Salvatore brothers.
"Oh great..." Isabel grumbled, Caroline gave her a slight pat on the back.
"I know it may be hard to believe, but they're honestly not that bad, well, Damon has his issues, actually, I don't like Damon, but Stefan, he's a really good person." Caroline commented, Isabel had to agree with the Damon part, but she never really took a liking to either of them, especially because the only time she ever really talked to Stefan was when he was 'The Ripper'. Isabel had to admit that she really didn't know the 21st century Salvatore brothers at all.
"Can we just sit as far away from them as possible, I don't want them to hear any of our conversation." Isabel insisted, Caroline nodded and they sat in a booth on the far end of the bar.
"Okay, so, recap, you like Kol-" Caroline began before she was cut off.
"No, I don't LIKE Kol! I don't know my feelings for him. There's no need to jump to conclusions yet."
"Alright," The blonde said slowly, "There's a 50% CHANCE you like Kol." Isabel gave her a stern look. "Fine 30% chance but I'm not going any lower than that!" Isabel just sighed and let her go on. "Okay, so you may like him or you may hate him and you don't know which one it is because he's a hormonal basterd who doesn't know how to handle emotions."
"Basically, yes, and I have no clue what to do, I don't know what to do about Kol, Cara, the cure, anything." Isabel was starting to understand the stress teenagers go through in their human lives.
"For a starter, you can apologise to Cara, I know she didn't tell you right away about her and Elijah but you haven't been very honest either about your love life." Caroline tried to put this without insulting Isabel, that was the last thing the girl needed.
"It's not just about Elijah, it's everything, my sister lived a life with so many people that we both swore we would hate forever. For example the Mikaelson's, the Salvatore brothers and Katherine. She never told me about any of them." Isabel was getting more frustrated the more she talked about it. Caroline saw this and took one of her hands in an attempt to calm her down.
"I see where you're coming from, I think she was just scared. Scared of what you would think of her, if you would hate her. It's alright to feel scared, even if that means lying to the people you love. Talk to Cara, tell her that even though you hate who she likes that you will always stand by her. All anyone wants is to be happy and if her being happy means being with Elijah or anyone else you should let her." Caroline explained, she could see the guilt within the other girls eyes. Isabel could only manage a not.
"Well, well, well, what do we have here?" A voice asked next to them, Isabel quickly turned away and rubbed her eyes before looking at the person. Had she been crying?
"What do you want Tyler?" Caroline asked, her voice hollow, she avoided looking into his eyes.
"Oh nothing, just want to know why you're near the enemy?" Tyler slurred, he had obviously been drinking a lot earlier, must be taking the break-up pretty hard.
"The enemy!? I'll have you know that just by standing here, with vampires, YOU'RE near the enemy, you mongrel." Isabel growled at him, he glared at her with immense hatred.
"I wouldn't talk to a werewolf like that if I were you." He threatened, but Isabel couldn't take him serious because he was so out of it.
"You're no threat at all, Lockwood." Isabel informed as she stood up to almost match his height. Caroline also stood up and tried to stand in between them.
"Let's not start a fight, okay guys?" Caroline spoke softly, Isabel was the first to break the glare and look at Caroline.
"Fine," Isabel gave up, "a drunk dog always causes trouble anyways." She mumbled, Tyler grabbed her by the throat and growled at her.
"Tyler! Let her go!" Caroline ordered but Tyler just pushed her away.
"Stop calling me a dog!" He growled at her, she attempted a laugh, but it came out as more or a breath. Her last word drove him to the edge though, she curved her lips into an 'o' shape and said: "Woof"
Tyler tightened his grip on her neck and, before Isabel or Caroline could react, he bit down on her shoulder. Isabel tried to scream, but she couldn't find her voice. The pain was raging, it quickly spread around her whole body. Isabel thought the most painful experience she'd ever have to go through would be her transformation onto a vampire, this was ten times worse. Caroline forced Tyler away from Isabel, Tyler fell to the ground and Caroline grabbed Isabel's hand dragging her out of the bar. When they got outside Caroline looked at Isabel, she could see her clearer now in the light. Her face was pale, paler than usual and her shoulder was bleeding, and the hand marks around her neck were not healing.
"Oh my God, we've got to get you to Klaus." Caroline gasped about to drag Isabel to the car but she was pulled back. Isabel shook her head.
"Klaus wants to kill me, he won't help me." Caroline knew this, but she thought he might do it for her.
"Take me to Elijah." Isabel ordered, Caroline didn't argue, they just ran straight into the car. They drove as fast as they could to get to Isabel's house, Isabel walked in expecting to find Elijah and Cara half naked in the sofa but instead was greeted with silence. "CARA!?" Isabel hollered. There was no reply. Isabel turned to Caroline who was standing outside because Isabel forgot to invite her in. "I knew we shouldn't have trusted Elijah! When I find him I'll-" she never got to finis the sentence. Isabel fell to the floor in pain, Caroline tried to get in but she couldn't.
"I can't help you from out here you know!" Caroline complained, Isabel told her she could come in, but it almost came as a whisper. As soon as she was granted entry the blonde vampire ran and picked Isabel up carrying her bridal style.
"I feel like such a loser right now because of how your carrying me." Isabel commented, Caroline squinted her eyes at the other girl.
"Do you want my help or not?" It was more of a rhetorical question but Isabel answered anyways.
"Starting to wonder if I do." She joked, Caroline put her in the passenger side of the car and quickly got in the other side. After a few seconds they were driving again.
"Now where are we going?" Isabel questioned, she heard a sigh coming from Caroline, not a good sign.
"I don't care what you say, we're taking you to Klaus." Caroline told her, ignoring Isabel's weak protest.
'Klaus, you better fix this girl.' Caroline thought as she bit her lip nervously parking outside the house.
