"J'onn?"

"Here."

"It's Clark."

"… is there some sort of emergency?"

"Hm? Oh, no. I just wanted to know if…"

Clark paused.

"Clark?"

"I'm putting together a Christmas dinner for the original seven. I was just wondering if you were available."

"Of course."

Clark sighed in relief.

"Were you expecting another answer?"

"Well, no, but everyone else has been… well, it's been difficult."

"I see."

Silence filled the comm channel.

"Clark?"

"Yes?"

"Do you know how to wrap presents?"
