A Note From Lady Bad Luck: Across the Board No. 2, featuring everyone's favourite lackeys, Peta and Rolan. Thank you, paramore-danish, this came from one of your prompts. Read and tell me what you think!
HaircutSnippety-snick; golden locks falling to the floor like snow. Rolan shook his head, and sneezed, fidgeting like a champion.
"Stay still, Rolan," Peta ordered, inexpertly waving the shears around Rolan's ear. "I might cut you by accident."
"It tickles," the boy protested, wiping his nose and picking bits of static hair off his face. "Why does it cling to me like that?"
Peta debated launching into a long and complicated explanation of static electricity, and then decided against it. He didn't know kids that well, but even among adults, there were precious few that would understand, let alone pay attention. He sighed.
"Magic," he said. "Magic makes it stick."
"Cooool," Rolan breathed, easily awed. Peta sighed again. Only 43,789 strands to go.
