A/N: Just another one of my random one-shots. Originally started out as a drabble, but I passed the word limit and just couldn't stop. Hope you guys enjoy, and please review!

Being Hurted

A three-year-old Sam ran towards Dean, his chubby legs moving furiously on the carpet.

"Dean!" He wailed. Dean leapt up from the couch at his brothers' distressed cry.

"Sammy, what's wrong?" he asked urgently.

Sam's lips quivered as he held out his finger. A small cut lay across the tip of his finger, a thin red line.

"I hurted it, Dean!" Sam said, his blue-green eyes quickly filling with tears.

Dean immediately switched to 'big brother' mode. He scooped Sam up into his arms, cradling him tight. Sam snuggled as close as he could to his brother's body, seeking the ever present comfort.

"It's alright, Sammy," Dean soothed as he walked to the table where the first aid kit lay.

Sam sniffed. "Hurts, Dean," he said, voice quavering.

"I know Sammy, but it'll get better. Just watch," Dean promised as he set Sam on a chair. He grabbed a small blue bandaid and placed it over the wound. Sam's eyes widened.

"Booboo gone away?" He asked, gazing in wonderment at his newly 'healed' finger. Dean smiled.

"Yeah Sammy." He placed a gentle kiss on Sam's finger. Sam beamed at him.

"Thanks Dean," Sam said, before planting a great big kiss on Dean's cheek, spit and all. Dean made a face as he felt the liquid cover his cheek, but he couldn't stop smiling as he saw the happiness on Sam's own face.

"No problem Sam," he said warmly as his little brother ran away, straight towards-

"Sammy, look out!"

THUD

"Dean!" Sam wailed.
