'Breathe In, Breathe Out, Tell me all of your doubt. That everyone bleeds this way, all the same. Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On and Break Down. If everyone goes away, I will stay.'

Breathe In, Breathe Out - Matt Kearney.

The next morning....

The Doctor woke up expecting to find Rose lying beside him. Yet again, she was nowhere to be seen. Surely, she must've finished saving Harrods from a couple of pregnant female aliens by now?

He stumbled out of bed, his mind set on one track. Was she allright? What If she'd been unlucky this time, and saved the world at the expense of her life? What was the point of living life if Rose wasn't there to live it with him? He knew they had gotten off to a rocky start but-

"DOCTOR?" Came the shrill tones of Jackie Tyler from outside his door "GET YOUR ARSE OUT OF BED! BREAKFAST IS READY!"

He rolled his eyes at Jackie's unchanged esteem towards him. He couldn't think of any reasons she had to be civil to him though. After all he had done.

"COMING JACKIE!" He yelled back, pulling on some new clothes that a maid must have left out for him the night before.

He had to do a double take as he caught sight of himself in the mirror on the way out. HE was wearing blue jeans, and a black Guns 'n Roses t-shirt. The sight of himself in anything but a suit completely alarmed him. He didn't look bad, though. Just... different. Very human.

He ran past the mirror, sown the stairs to the kitchen, where he saw Jackie staring at the TV with a huge mug of black coffee in her hand, whilst some poor butler attempted to help Tony eat. Jackie and Tony. But no Pete or Rose.

"Where's Rose?" He asked, plucking a banana from the fruit bowl.

Jackie gave him an odd look.

"She went off to work about two hours ago with her Dad, Jumpin Jack Flash, Jake and Mickey. Didn't she tell you?" She asked, narrowing her eyes.

The Doctor felt his mood change instantly.

"No. She didn't tell me a thing." He said, taking a furious bite of his banana. This was not good.

"Well why don't you traipse along there now and see if they're in? I'm sure you'd find it more interesting there than you do here." She said, smiling and turning back to the TV.

"I'm not sure I'm wanted." He said, inwardly groaning at how he sounded. Like a jealous 2 year-old.

Jackie turned back to him, an unnfathomable look crossing her face.

"If travelling across bleedin' universes to get you back is anything to go by, I reckon you're wanted. You just gotta stop feelin' sorry for yourself and chip in a bit." Jackie said, calmly, though he could tell that she wasn't happy with him.

But this didn't make him any less angry. He chucked his banana peel in the bin and ran straight out of the door. He was an angry meta-crisis.

Who didn't know what he was about to do.

"Derek? Pass me the tri-signal conjuctioner, please." Rose said, holding her hand out, expectantly.

"What?"Asked Derek, looking at her like her head had fallen off.

"Oh my god! The blue one!" Rose sighed, exasparated. She was the only one who knew what she was doing.

Suddenly, there was a loud banging from down the hallway. Everyone looked up, startled.

"What the hell is THAT?" Whispered Astrid, clinging to Rose's arm.

"Heh. I don't know. But whatever it is, it's stupid." Rose said, striding along the corridoor, pulling Astrid with her.

Just as she had thought, it was coming from the entrance.

"I'm just gonna open up, Ast, I'll need my arm for that." She whispered, comforting her friend.

Astrid let go of it, reluctantly.

"Rose! You don't know what it is!" Hissed Jack.

"Exactly! I'm gonna find out!" Rose grinned, unlocking the entrance.

Everyone sighed in disbelief at the sight that met them on the other side of the door. A tall man with messy brown hair wearing a Guns 'n Roses t-shirt, jeans, and a scowl met all their gazes.

"JESUS CHRIST MAN! YOU HAD US ALL TERRIFIED!" Cried Jake, angrily.

Everyone nodded their heads angrily.

"Are you allright?" Asked Rose, in a decidedly more calm voice.

The Doctor let out a huge breath before he spoke.

"It's all about you, isn't it?" He snarled at her. He didn't know what he was doing, he certainlly didn't want an arguement with Rose. Probably just the Donna within.

"Pardon?" Rose asked, her polite voice all but dissappearing.

"I'm just left here with you lot on this great big stinking lump of rock, and you just ignore me. Although, you probably don't understand what I'm going through at the moment, just try and put yourself in my shoes. I am an EARTHBOUND HALF HUMAN, stuck on a planet that SHOULDN'T EXIST, with a load of GAY ALIEN FIGHTERS. MAYBE YOU COULD HELP ME OUT HER INSTEAD OF BEING A SELFISH, STUCK UP BITCH!?" He yelled at her. Or rather, something inside him that wasn't him did.

"What did you just call her?" Hissed Jack, walking straight up to the doctor, so their noses were touching, grabbing him by his collar.

"I..." The Doctor trailed off. The arguing streak han't died. But what was really unnerving was seeing Jack, one of his oldest friends, so angry with him.

"You really are sick." Said Mickey, his voice full of disgust.

Rose stared at the ground for a moment longer before she spoke. Her face was unreadable, but her eyes were burning gold. Not a good sign.

"As a matter of fact, Doctor, I do know what it feels like to be an earth-bound, half human living on a planet that shouldn't exist. I'm not earthbound any more though." She whispered. Then she looked up at him. "BUT I CAN TELL YOU ONE THING! I'M NOT THE SELFISH, STUCK UP ONE HERE! AND I AM CERTAINLLY NOT A HOMOPHOBE!"

"Rose I-" She cut him off.

"AND YOU? YOU THINK YOU CAN JUST WALTZ IN AND OUT OF MY LIFE AS YOU PLEASE? DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT THE CONSEQUENCES! I WILL NOT HAVE YOU TREATIN' ANYONE LIKE THAT. THESE PEOPLE PUT ME BACK TOGETHER WHEN I WENT CRAZY AFTER WE GOT SEPARATED. AND YOU JUST STAND THERE HURLING ABUSE AT ALL OF US, WHEN WE... I DID SO MUCH TO COME AND FIND YOU. AND NOW YOU'RE BACK YOU JUST WANT TO RUN TO YOUR AGENDA." She yelled, her fists in balls.

"Rose, just give me time, I-"

"THAT'S EXACTLY IT!" She cried in disbelief "I ALWAYS HAVE TO WAIT FOR YOU. WHETHER IT'S BECAUSE YOU WANT TO GO OFF WITH SOME FRENCH TART, OR JUST BECAUSE YOU'RE JUST CURIOUS! I'M ALWAYS THE ONE ON THE SIDELINES. THAT'S NOT HAPPENING ANYMORE."

He stared at her open mouthed. Was that really what he was like? What Rose had to put up with? He knew that he had hurt her over Reinette, but this was obviously more than once...

"AND I'M TIRED, DOCTOR! I'M TIRED OF WAITING FOR YOU. THINGS HAVE GOT TO CHANGE!" She'd started to cry now.

"Well... MAYBE I DON'T WANT YOU TO WAIT FOR ME!" His mouth yelled on it's own accord. Trying to imply that he didn't want Rose. Something was wrong.

"You... You don't?" Rose whispered. The look in her eyes broke his hearts.

He tried so hard to open his mouth and tell her that what he had just said was crap, but something stopped him. His human hormones hadn't settled yet, and woe betide anyone who made him feel a tiny it angry. He was one hundred times more hormonal than a pregnant woman.

Suddenly, his mouth started working again.

"You sick idiot." Snarled Pete, charging over to him, his fists raised.

Jack reluctantly held him back before he could go any further.

"Oh god. Rose, I didn't mean that." He tried to walk over to her, but somebody held him back.

"Get him out, please." She whispered to Jake.

Jake gave her a kiss on the forehead and then walked over to where the Doctor was standing along with Mickey, Jack and Pete.

"Rose... ROSE! I didn't know what I was saying! PLEASE LISTEN TO ME!" He yelled at the top of his lungs as the four men dragged him down the corridoor, struggling and kicking.

Pete quickly unlocked the door and pushed him outside into the street.

"I swear if you ever talk to her like that again, contrary to however wrong i think violence is, I will kill you." Pete snarled at him before turning away, back down the corridoor.

Jake and Jack gave him looks of complete disgust and followed. Mickey closed the door, quietly, and came to stand next to him.

"Here's some money and a working mobile. I don't know what the hell happened in there, but that wasn't you. Sort yourself out, and call me to let me know where you are staying." Mickey whispered into his ear.

"Thank-you." The Doctor smiled gratefully at him. "But how could you tell that wasn't me?"

"Well... I didn't know until the part where you said you didn't love her. Who are you kidding? Not me." Mickey almost managed a smile "But I hope you'll understand, you may have hurt her too much this time. I'll try and hope both of you, but there are some things that can't be repaired."

The Doctor nodded. He hoped with all his heart that Mickey was wrong about the hurt beyond repair bit. Otherwise he really was a pointless waste of life.

"See you around, mate." Mickey said, squeezing his shoulder and nodding before heading back inside.

The Doctor turned towards the street in a daze, and started sobbing and walking at the same time. He had never in his existence seen a face so broken as Rose's when he had said those stupid words. And no matter what happened, those pain stricken eyes would haunt him forever.

What had he done?

A/N: Very dramatic, eh? Tell me what you think in a REVIEW pleaseeeeeeee. XXX
