A few months later...
"NO! I HATE ANCHOVIES!" Rose yelled at Jake, who was trying to order pizza "And if you order them, I'll blow up your phone."
"That'll be five margaritas with extra large helpings of anchovies on top," Jack said into his phone, waggling his tongue at her "Thanks! Byeee!"
He obviously hadn't taken Rose seriously about the phone thing. And that would be his downfall. Rose snatched it from the table.
"Mmmhmm. Latest Nokia Model. 3G, decent camera, LOTS of memory, worth £150. Shame." She shook her head mockingly at him.
He snatched it back from her hands, looking at her slightly nervously. Waiting for something to happen.
"Don't you dare!" He cried, darting towards the door.
Rose clicked her fingers and the door locked. Jake wailed.
"Now, what colour sparks? Pink or Purple?" She asked.
"PINK!" Jack yelled, before anyone could answer.
Rose grinned and nodded, turning back to look at Jake's hand, which clutched the phone. She stared at it for a couple of seconds, before a large, pink BANG filled the room.
And bits of the latest Nokia 3G telephone went flying across the room.
What followed, was a very angry man with spiky, blonde hair chasing a giggling superhuman who kept disappearing and reappearing around the room, much to the man's frustration.
The Doctor grinned. A grin that reached his eyes. And split his face his half, and made him feel like he had the sun inside of him. He'd been doing a lot of that in the past few months. And quite right, too. He'd never dreamt of a like like this. Baked Beans, chips, Eastenders, all combined with his old lifestyle. And the most important thing. The young blonde woman who had now been seized by each arm by Mickey and Jack, and was now being tickled, mercilessly by Jake.
"DOCTOR! HELP ME!" Rose screamed, between giggles.
He shook his head, and walked over to help Jake with the tickling.
"Say sorry," Jake commanded "And I might stop."
"I'M SORRY!" She screamed.
Jake nodded, and they dropped her.
"Blimey, you guys are pathetic. It takes four of you to just tickle me." Rose shook her head, in shame.
In frustration The Doctor, Mickey, Jack and Jake lunged for Rose again, but were only confronted with a cloud of golden dust, as she clicked her fingers, and disappeared again.
6 hours later...
The Doctor took a long look at the ring. It was beautiful. He'd found it on a planet called Ajakle, in a small boutique, and had quickly paid the full price for it, whilst Rose was outside, arguing with a fruit merchant about the price of his Cack (which was a small, brown fruit that tasted like figs). It was an asteroid jewel, a greeny purple colour. Rose would love it.
Thinking of Rose, he looked up to find her on the balcony, leaning against the balustrade, looking out on to the Tyler mansion's Rose garden. Her golden hair, which reached her waist now, rustled as a light breeze caught it. His heart sung as he saw her. The ring, which he had now shoved inside his pocket, may be beautiful, but the woman who he intended it for would put it to shame anyday.
He noticed her shivering, and picked up a wrap before striding out on to the balcony.
Rose grinned when she saw him. "Hello."
"Hi." He replied, returning the grin, pulling the wrap over her shoulders.
They looked out on to the Rose garden for a few moments, savouring the moment.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" She whispered.
"So beautiful." He replied, his voice full of emotion.
Rose looked up to find that he wasn't looking at the Rose garden, but staring at her, with love filled eyes. She blushed, grinning deeply.
"I still haven't forgiven you yet, you know?" She muttered, trying to look stern.
"For what?" He asked, bemused.
"Helping Jake tickle me." She replied, folding her arms against her chest.
He grinned, as Rose looked out on to the garden again. This was the perfect opportunity. He knelt down next to the while she still wasn't looking, fumbling in his pocket for the ring.
"I love you so much. You know that?" He asked, looking up at her.
She nodded, smiling to herself, still not looking round.
"Rose, turn around." He whispered.
Rose spun round, to be confronted with the Doctor, kneeling in front of her, looking up at her with pleading eyes.
"Oh, Doctor." She whispered, tears welling in her eyes.
"No, shhh. This is my turn." He said a little more loudly, trying not to cry.
"Sorry." She replied, putting her fingers to her lips "Go on..."
He nodded, still fighting back tears, before continuing "Rose Tyler. Will you ahh...will you ahh....here have this ring for marrying me if you want to, I mean no pressure, it's Ok if you say no.... But the thing is... you make me a better person. Since that first 'Run'. And god knows why, but you have stayed with me even when I was a complete arse. And you came back to me. And I love you. More than anything ever. So... err... will you... marry me?"
Golden tears of complete happiness spilled over her face. She nodded her head "Yes. Yes, I will."
His own tears spilled over his cheeks as he slipped the ring on to her finger. It fitted perfectly.
He stood up and pulled her so close to him, that their noses touched. "Looks like your stuck with me with me then?"
She smiled, wrapping her arms around him "Yeah. But It's not so bad when you're madly in love with the person your stuck with."
His grin split his face in half "Rose. I'm going to kiss you now."
And before she could say anything, even to agree, he pulled her into the most passionate kiss that he had ever given.
