Bowser's "Perfect" Plan
Chapter 1, The Golden Koopaling…Child?: In the koopa kingdom Bowser enters a nursery the Shy Guys decorated. Inside was a magikoopa brewing a spell.
"Is it done yet?" Bowser asked.
"Patience my king. These things take time. Not to mention this is the first time I have attempted a spell like this. I don't want to risk making an error." Kammy Koopa said as she stirred a bubbling pink liquid in her cauldron. The aroma had a sweet smell of peaches.
"How soon do you think it'll be?" The king of koopas asked.
"As I said before. This is the first time I have done this. I can't say for sure." The magikoopa answered. Bowser begrudgingly waits.
"Look, your majesty," Kammy said. A giant bubble rose from the liquid. Inside the bubble appeared to be a baby koopa human hybrid. Bowser widened his eyes and held out his hands. The bubble popped and the baby rested comfortably in the king's hands. She appeared mostly human; she had tufts of blonde hair, a short pair of horns, a cute little tail, and a spiky pink shell.
"She's perfect. She looks just like her." Bowser said.
"What will you name her my lord?" Kammy asked.
"Berry," Bowser said. Then throughout the koopa kingdom, everyone celebrated the birth of the new princess. Berry was instantly Bowser's favorite much to Bowser Jr.'s and the Koopalings' dismay. As she got older, Berry sang throughout the halls every day. To Jr. and the Koopalings the sound was grating. But to Bowser, it was the most beautiful sound in the world. Her voice sounded similar to her mother's. His guards loved hearing her voice as well. Whenever Bowser needed help with an evil plot he had planned out, he'd either ask Jr. or one of the Koopalings. But never Berry. She'd never had to lift a claw, or really long nail in her case.
Berry spent most of her time outside feeding chain chomps, cheep cheeps, piranha plants, spinies, and swoopers while she sang. Other times she made pink flower wreaths and placed them on the koopatrols and hammer bros heads. They didn't mind it. At least she didn't torture them like her father and siblings. She sang and danced with the shy guys and played games with them as well. She was mostly raised and mentored by Kammy. Berry grew to see her as a mother figure. She was fully aware that her siblings didn't like her, but she didn't understand why. One day during her lessons Berry sat at her desk looking at her test sheet.
"You're usually done by now. What's troubling you?" Kammy asked.
"Why am I learning magic?" She asked.
"As I said a long time ago, when I performed the spell to make you, I added some of my magic to the concoction. I always wanted to have someone to teach magic to. Besides, your siblings use magic." Kammy explained.
"Why don't they like me?" She asked.
"Well…because…you have a mother."
"Who is she?" Berry asked.
"You probably don't remember. You were really little when your father told you. She's Princess Peach."
"Is she here?"
"She's not. She lives in the Mushroom Kingdom."
"Will I ever see her?"
"One day you will. That's why it's important for you to learn how to use your magic. You'll have a special task to do for your father when you do meet her." Kammy said. Berry wasn't entirely sure what that meant but she went back to her test. If Kammy said it's important that she knows magic before meeting her mother, then she'll take her word for it. Aside from her father. Kammy was the only one she was close to.
Bowser Jr. straight up hated her. Ludwig ignored her. Even if he wasn't working on an invention, he would still say that he's busy. Lemmy and Iggy preferred hanging out with each other. Roy liked to torment her. Wendy used to like her when she was smaller and that was only because she could style her hair and dress her up like a baby doll; nowadays she pulls on her hair because she doesn't have any hair. Morton would never talk to her and he could never stop talking. The only sibling who seemed to tolerate her was Larry; and even then it's more like a "we can only be friends when no one is looking" kind of deal.
Meanwhile Bowser Jr. Brought the Koopalings to his room. At the beginning he wasn't thrilled about having a new sibling. He already had seven. What's even worse is that she became the center of attention throughout the kingdom. Something needed to be done.
"Ok, who wants her gone?" Jr. asked his koopaling siblings as they raised up their hands…except Morton who stuffed his face with chicken legs. Larry didn't raise his hand either. Sure she was annoying, but at least he wasn't the youngest anymore.
"Daddy gives her more presents than me! They look more expensive too! It's not fair! Not fair, not fair, not fair, not fair, not fair!" Wendy screeched while clenching her fists and stomping her foot.
"I was here first!" Ludwig complained as everyone looked at him.
"Oh come on, you know it's true. I'm the eldest." Ludwig says
"I'm his only real son." Jr. says
"I'm the strongest." Roy says
"And the dumbest," Larry says to Roy.
"At least I'm not the youngest!" Roy shot back.
"Yeah, neither am I."
Roy paused at that comeback.
"You really are the dumbest." Larry said.
"You will be the youngest again when she's gone!" Roy said.
"Guys, can we talk about the real problem at hand!?" Asked Jr.
"The problem is that even if we do want her gone, king dad is not going to let her go anywhere. She's the only one related to Peach." Iggy said.
"He isn't wrong there." Lemmy agreed.
"Imagine the look on Mario's face if he ever finds out." Ludwig says.
"I got it! We get one of the magikoopas-" Iggy began.
"to make Mario her dad!" Lemmy finishes.
"They're too afraid of Kammy to mess with her magic." Said Larry.
"I got it. We trick her to become a menace and total brat causing king dad to hate her." Ludwig says.
"That won't work! King dad will never hate her because Peach is her mom! Plus he'll know that we made her do it!" Wendy said.
"Dang it." Ludwig says.
"I got it. We capture Peach which will bring Mario here." Iggy said.
"Then Mario will take Berry and Peach away." Lemmy says
"Will he even want to take her?" Roy asked.
"It's our best shot. Let's do this!" Bowser Jr. says.
"Come on everyone sure she's annoying but-"
"But what? You'll be the youngest again when she's gone?" Roy interrupted Larry.
"Traitor. Is that why you didn't raise your hand?" Jr. asked.
"No! That's not it!" Larry said.
"Then what is it?" Asked Roy.
"How about this? To show he's not against us, he has to come up with a plan to capture Peach!" Wendy said. Jr. and the rest of the koopalings agreed.
"Come on guys. All because I didn't raise my hand? Morton didn't."
"Chicken leg?" Morton hands one to him.
"No," Larry said. Morton went back to eating.
"It's not just because of that. It's also to show that you're not being a wuss about being the youngest." Roy said. Larry groaned.
"Alright. Fine. I'll think of something." He said.
"I think you'll come up with a real evil plan," Ludwig said.
"He better," Jr. Says.
"I will. Calm down." Larry said. Although he wasn't sure on where to start. Faint singing could be heard down the hall.
"She's coming! Quick, let's go so she won't suspect anything!" Jr. said. He and the koopalings quickly left the room after he said that. Soon Berry found herself in the middle of the castle's foyer.
"Good afternoon Berry. I hope you are doing fine today." Her father greeted. Berry bowed at her father.
"I'm okay sir. Thank you for asking." Bowser smiled at his daughter. She was so polite and sweet. Just like her mother. He thought to himself.
"Would you like some tea Berry?" She nodded her head.
"Yes, please sir."
Bowser orders a couple of shy guys to bring tea out to the courtyard. The shy guys poured them each a cup.
"Berry." He said. Berry looked up at him.
"I brought you out here because. I've noticed your siblings treat you. I apologize for their behavior. They're still adjusting to having a new sibling." Berry giggled a bit.
"It's okay daddy. At least Larry is nice to me. Sometimes."
"How would you feel about going to the Mushroom Kingdom?" Berry gasped, taken aback. That's where her mother lived! She then remembered something.
"Kammy said I had a special task to do for you when I meet her. What does she mean by that?"
"You do. Don't worry about that yet though. I asked because of this." A koopatrol handed Bowser a letter in which he handed it to his daughter. Berry opened it up and saw the message written in her mother's handwriting. (Forged by magikoopas of course.)
"Dear Sweetie Pie,
Your father always tells me stories about you whenever he comes to see me. Please come visit me in the Mushroom Kingdom. We can bake a cake together!"
From your mother,
Peach."
Berry was excited. "Can I daddy? Can I go?! I would love to." She said excitedly..
Bowser chuckled at her excitement. "If you promise to behave yourself during your stay."
"When do I leave?" She asked eager to see her mother.
"Tomorrow morning."
"Why can't I go today?"
"Because we need time to prepare for the trip." Berry looked disappointed but understood.
"Okay, daddy."
"Hey, don't look like that. Tomorrow morning will come by before you know it. You don't want to look sad for your mother do you?" Berry giggled.
"I don't, daddy."
"Very good. So it's settled. Tomorrow morning you'll leave. Bowser said while ruffling his daughter's hair. Berry clapped
"Yayyyy! I'm going to see mommy!" She squealed with joy and happiness. Larry has been hiding behind one of the bushes listening in to their conversation. Perhaps he didn't have to come up with a plan after all. He was relieved that he didn't have to because he had no idea on where to start. But at the same time it meant that his siblings would make him do something else to prove that he wasn't a traitor. That's something he didn't particularly care for…He didn't think Berry was all that bad. Annoying, yes. But not unbearable.
