1942 June 29 - The empire of Japan and its sphere of influence suddenly vanish from the earth and are carried to the world of Remnant in a flash of white light, A night before the attack on mid-way commenced.
The land masses are cleanly cut off from the front lines, with no place where the enemy was seen or heard.
Many merchant and navy vessels suddenly disappear, as if they had vanished into a cloud of smoke. Confusion and chaos erupt all over Asia.
1942 May 30th - A state of emergency is declared in the mainland. Taking this as an opportunity, Tojo-Hideki orders the kenpeitai to raid hundreds of locations in Tokyo, purging known communist cells and political rivals against Tojo in a bid to further solidify his position in the military and government.
In the meantime, the front-line armies all stop in their tracks as they just find the ocean where there used to be front lines.
With their dissatisfied, glory-hungry commanders, A good portion of the armies begin fighting for additional glory by brutally hunting down any resistance groups in the regions they reside. However, with their rather "unprofessional" ways of determining guilty and innocent, wrongful-retaliatory killings and forced evictions against innocent civilians are common within these "hunts" for rebels and unrest and strife dramatically increase nation-wide.
Meanwhile, in the Chinese front, PLA guerrillas and Kuomintang remnants that were now cut-away from all supply and command chains get slowly and brutally rooted out of the vast-wilderness of China, with army commanders determined to not repeat their mistakes from a couple of years ago and making sure they checked every area throughly. However, a slow collapse meant that for one, many of the fighters would be able to hide as individuals before the army could properly identify and purge them, and second, that it would take months, if not an entire additional year, to finish the war once and for all without any sort of special factor coming to play.
On the next day, the army and navy instructed respective air services to perform reconnaissance missions to map the exact situation at hand in response to receiving multiple concerning and also confusing telegrams from the frontline that spoke of entire islands disappearing.
1942 June 2nd - The navy sends "type two" aircraft, while the army sends modified "type one hundred" transport planes with varying degrees of success.
The navy air service's scouting crafts go dark after discovering two completely new continents, one a mostly inhospitable desert and another with distinct yet alien purple-coloued soil. While speculations spurred up on where the scouting crafts went, they were ultimately dismissed by navy minister Yoneda, deeming it to be a non-issue compared to the more pressing matters at hand, such as the Pacific war and the location of the U.S naval fleet.
Meanwhile, the army air service's scouting crafts also go dark after relaying back to command of the existence of a city of unknown allegiance or origin. Subsequently, the army command is led to believe that the reconnaissance vessel had been shot down by the city. Tojo is alerted and intrigued at the news of the mysterious city, and the assembling of a collection force is begins in a hurry under his order, while army-officials go to the imperial palace for emperor showa's approval. They are ultimately successful as they receive his reluctant go ahead after a four-hour-long persuasion session.
Yet, due to manpower shortages caused by the many, newly formed occupation forces and the sheer scale of the operation to begin with, The army is forced to discuss this matter in Tokyo with the navy and government.
After hours of consideration, all sides debating while 100-year-old grudges and scores to be settled remained between all major-factions and sub-factions, all parties finally agree after 4 days to dispatch an escort fleet and delegation to this city, spear-headed by the navy.
