A/N Hi I am new to the powerpuff fanfiction world but I love it so much I wanted to give it a try. Please forgive any mistakes.
We're different now
It was a bright and sunny day the roosters were crocking and the birds were chirping. Three fifteen year old boys woke up with groggy faces. The boys lived with their father Mojo Jojo in his little observation house on the tallest mountain in Townsville. Jojo took care of the Rowdyruff boys as if they were his very own sons. He had to fight HIM tooth and nail for custody but he eventually got them. Now he was a regular house dad, well Monkey dad. His fur got gray over the years and his hunch had gotten a little worse. Mojo loved his boys and today was their first day of high school. They've been homeschooled their whole life and now they were starting their Sophomore year. Time flew by quickly for Mojo but he honestly couldn't complain. He turned from being a supervillain to working with his old partner Professor Utonium. Of course Mojo kept the boys away from the girls. The Professor respected his decision so he kept the girls away from the boys. Honestly their kids didn't even know they were working together. They had their own lab off in the middle of nowhere.
Mojo finished up the chocolate chip pancakes he was making the boys for breakfast just in time the boys were all groaning and whining as they walked downstairs. Mojo gave a small smile as he looked at his boys. Brick was the oldest and was considered the leader. He was quick-tempered; he was always the one to start the fight amongst his brothers. He wore a red baseball cap and had long hair. He was wearing a red shirt and blue jeans with white. He then looked at Butch his aggressive hyperactive son. He was non apologetic but unlike Brick Butch actually cared about his younger brother but never showed it. He was wearing a black shirt, black jeans, with a green jacket. His hair was slicked back and he looked tired. Next to him with a gleaming smile was Boomer. He was the youngest, he wasn't the smartest but he did care. He wasn't easily tempered, he was nice and chill. He wore his hair parted in the middle and wore a blue sweater and blue jeans. The boys sat down and enjoyed their breakfast gobbling it up like little animals.
"Now boys, what have I told you about table manners?" The boys sighed but started eating more politely for their fathers sake. Mojo smiled and sat at the table with the boys. "So your first day of school today. A couple rules." The boys groaned as Mojo continued. "First off, don't use your powers, if you do I'll give you the antidote X and you won't have your powers for eight hours. Also be nice and make friends. Brick, you're the leader, be sure to guide your brothers and help them. Be sure to mind your manners and under no circumstances are you boys to interact with the Powerpuff girls."
Brick gave a thumbs up, "Of course dad we'll be on our best behavior."
Butch rolled his eyes but said nothing. Boomer gave a thumbs up as he finished his breakfast. Sooner than later they said their goodbyes and flew off to school. They were going to Townsville high school. While in the air flying Brick made it a point to remind his brothers about the rules.
"Alright make sure you don't mess this up for me. Behave and if you see those powderpuffs walk the other way."
Butch frowned, "We're fifteen, we can handle ourselves, we're not children."
"Oh fuck off don't be such a baby Butch!" Brick spat out.
Boomer sighed and put on a cheerful smile, "Come on guys let's not fight, especially on our first day."
Butch visibly calmed unlike Brick who just glared at Boomer and walked away. Butch scowled as he followed close to his brothers as they entered the school. They looked around in a sort of amazement. It was your stereotypical high school teens who were rushing to find their classes or cluttering the hall in their little cliques. It excited the boys and got their adrenaline pumping. Brick gave his brothers a stern look and then walked off to his class. The two brothers went their own way to find their classes as well.
Brick was a bit excited for his classes. He was going to be in advanced classes since Mojo wanted him to push himself mentally. He was sure he wouldn't have problems with anything since his dad was literally the smartest man alive and had been homeschooling him and his brothers since he was just created. Brick went to his first class and immediately sat in the middle. Everyone started piling in and finding seats next to their friends. Brick yawned and laid back on his chair and waited for the teacher to enter. Not a minute too soon the teacher, a tall skinny bald man came in and did the standard stuff. Wrote his name on the board and turned to the class with a bored, tired expression.
"Hello class my name is Mr. Bog you can call me Mr. B if you want. We'll start off with the usual role call and then we'll get started with the basics. Now just to let you know this here is advanced math so expect this class to be hard kay cause it is. It's going to challenge the greatest minds and extinguish the weakest ones as well."
Brick snorted as he sat up a bit straighter and waited for his name to be called. Once his name was called he pretty much zoned out not caring about the other students. Once the roll was done Bog immediately started their lecture class on algebra. Brick smirked as he thought how easy this class was going to be. Bog was a pretty straight forward teacher he was to the point and didn't take anyone's crap he respected that. Once class was over Brick went to his locker and swapped out textbooks. He went to his next two periods, advanced reading and then chemistry. Once it was lunch he texted his brothers to meet him at the front door of the cafeteria it didn't take them long to find him. Brick looked at his brothers and smirked as they found a spot in the cafeteria.
"So far classes are a piece of cake for me you know since I'm so smart." Brick stated.
Butch clapped sarcastically, "Oh wow red nerd over here is happy he can do math."
Brick scowled, "At least I'm advanced and not basic like you."
"I'd rather be basic then a fucking know it all." Butch growled out.
Boomer rolled his eyes but gave a false smile, "I wonder what is being served for lunch today. I would love to try those chicken fingers."
Brick glared and smacked Boomer on the head, "You idiot."
Boomer feigned pain and whined a bit, "Ouch what was that for?"
"Because you're an idiot."
Butch frowned as he walked with Boomer to the chicken finger line while Brick decided to get a burger. After leaving the line they all sat in the middle of the cafeteria. Eyes were on them they could hear people whispering with their superhuman hearing. Of course girls were swooning over them saying how hot they were and if they had girlfriends. The boys on the other hand were mixed in reaction. Some wanted to actually be friends with them while others stated very clearly how it was unfair that they were even allowed to go to school. Butch was a little aggravated with some of the things they were saying.
"Hey guys you notice how the girls aren't here?" Boomer asked.
Brick rolled his eyes, "And so what it's a good thing we don't see those stupid pussypuff girls."
"Yeah but I thought they went here as well." Boomer stated.
"Maybe they are at a different school, maybe a private school. It wouldn't be that surprising if they were." Butch spoke.
"Ahh you're right Butch thanks bro!" Boomer exclaimed.
Butch just gave a thumbs up and continued with his not so great lunch. He figured out quickly that school food sucked and that he should probably get Boomer to start making him lunch. After talking to his brothers a little longer and continuing to ignore the mixed stare's they were getting from other students, lunch was over. While getting up Brick said his goodbyes and pushed past Boomer. Boomer sighed and waved to Butch as he left for his class. Butch gave a small wave and headed to his next class which was physical education. He went to the boys locker room and changed into the black shorts and white and black shirt that was labeled for him by a locker he assumed was his. He changed out of his street clothes and threw them into the locker and then headed to the gym that was connected to the locker room. It was a relatively big gym to say the least very open with the usual basketball hoops hosted up. Butch sat on the bleachers away from everyone else. He wasn't trying to be anti-social or anything but he just wasn't going to be the one to start a conversation. While waiting for the teacher to come in, a guy with freckles and brown hair decided to sit by him. He was tan from what seemed like playing in the sun all summer. He was wearing the gym uniform and had his haircut in a mohawk. Butch decided not to engage and to just continue to wait. Of course this guy had other plans.
"Hey I'm Mitch Michelson."
Butch turned to him with a blank face, "Butch Jojo."
Mitch face got visibly brighter, "Holy shit dude you're a Rowdyruff boy that's cool as fuck."
"Umm thanks I guess."
"So like, are you and your brothers not villains anymore?" Mitch asked.
Butch shook his head, "Nope we're just high school students once Mojo figured some stuff out with his life he changed sides and now so have my brothers and I."
"Dude far out so like do you miss it?"
Butch shrugged, "I mean I miss the invincibility, freedom, the aggressiveness. But I mean no not really I kind of like you know not going to prison."
"Oh right well bro you know what you just made a friend."
Butch snorted but shook Mitch's hand nonetheless. After like ten minutes of more waiting the teacher finally came running in. She was a tall brunette. She was pretty attractive, had pale skin and brown eyes. She was huffing and puffing wearing a pair of sports shorts and white tee and Nike sneakers. She gave the class a smile and stood upright.
"Afternoon class sorry I'm late I will be your P.E teacher Ms. Kim Crane. You guys can call me Ms. K or heck I'd even take Ms. C. Alright let's get started since some students are missing. We'll save the fun stuff for tomorrow but for today I just want to see how everyone is physically fit. So I'm going to put you guys in groups of two and since it's such a nice day outside we'll be going out to the track and doing laps."
Butch heard the girls in the class whine while the boys cheered showboating how they were going to outrun each other. Butch was paired with Mitch since their last names started with M. Before Butch could go run laps Ms.K instructed him to wear a bracelet that sealed his powers. Mojo gave it to the school a week in advance so they didn't have an unfair advantage. Butch reluctantly took it and met up with Mitch to run his laps. Unlike his brother Brick who relied on his smarts and powers Butch relied on his strength. He would exercise a lot working out his physical body so if a day came where his powers were to be taken away from him he'd still be able to rely on his physical body. Laps were pretty easy Butch and Mitch both outran the whole class finishing their laps first. He learned that Mitch was a football player and that he had a girlfriend that went to their school. After class Mitch and Butch decided to chill and exchange numbers to each other before their next class.
Boomer was enjoying his cooking class. He was awesome at cooking and he never wanted the class to end. Unfortunately it did but he was happy it was his last class so he decided to stay a little longer to make him and his brothers a snack. He also liked his teacher. She was a sweet kind old lady. Everyone called her Granny. She didn't mind at all. Boomer was helping Granny clean up before he left. She thanked him and gave him a sweet hug.
"Thank you Boomer, you're such a sweetheart."
Boomer gave a small smile, "Oh well thank you Granny."
She smiled at him and gave him a small pat on the head. Boomer grabbed his stuff, gave her one last hug and left. School was actually pretty nice for Boomer. A lot of girls asked him for help in his cooking class which kind of threw him off a bit but he helped nonetheless. He also had art before cooking class where he could just go wild with his imagination. He checked his phone and saw that Brick and Butch both texted in their Rowdy group chat. He opened it and he didn't seem that surprised by their texts.
Brick: 'Hey I'm going to stay over. I already told Mojo so don't wait for me.'
Butch: 'Wasn't going to but I am also staying over a bit Mojo knows.'
Boomer sighed but sent a thumbs up emoji and left the school. He decided on walking home well, not actually walking home but to venture out. He looked at the sky and thought about how beautiful it was. It was serene and he appreciated it. While walking along the sidewalk he smelt some fresh bread and literally levitated to the smell. He stopped in front of a small little bakery and smiled. He looked through the window and saw so many goodies. He saw cupcakes, pies, bread and much more. Someone touched Boomer's shoulder catching him off guard. He turned and saw a little girl. She was about nine or ten and she had big silvery eyes and pigtails. She was wearing a dress and had a big smile on her face.
"Hiya my name is Amy you seem to really be eying those goodies."
Boomer blushed, "Oh no I was just looking I'll be heading off now."
She grabbed his hand quickly to stop him, "No no no come on Mama would love to meet you."
She pulled Boomer into the bakery and told him to sit down and wait. He listened and did as he was told. Sooner than later Amy and a short red headed woman with a beautiful dress walked up to him. She was pretty, maybe in her mid forties she had her hair in a ponytail and a smile on her face. She sat a cupcake and juice down in front of him.
"Hi, my name is Lia. I'm Amy's mother and Amy here said you were staring at our little treats. Well go ahead tell me how you like it."
Boomer nodded and took a bite of the cupcake, his eyes widened. It was one of the best cupcakes he's ever tasted. He started to scarf it down in a sugar rage causing Lia and Any to giggle. He blushed in embarrassment as he looked away.
"Aww you have a big appetite I am happy someone likes our bakes."
Boomer nodded, "Yes ma'am this was one of the best cupcakes I've ever had."
Amy laughed, "See Mama I told you he was special?"
"Is there something wrong?" Boomer asked.
Lia sighed, "Well my husband has fallen Ill and it's been hard for me to keep business running. Sometimes I have to close up shop early so our customers have been going to other places for their bakes. We may have to close down if this continues."
Boomer shook his head, "No this is like the freshest cupcake I've ever had you can't shut down. I can come by and help after school on weekdays. I don't mind it would help me become a better cook and baker working here as well."
Lia brightened, "Oh that would be lovely if you can do that then Amy can help you and I can tend to my husband at the hospital."
Amy cheered, "Yeah lets do it Boomy."
Boomer raised his fists, "I can start as soon as possible."
Lia and Amy cheered and immediately started showing him the ropes. After five hours of training it was now eight at night. Boomer made sure to text Mojo that he was going to be home late. Boomer said his goodbyes and started to fly home. When he got home his brothers were in their rooms and Mojo was cleaning up dinner. He looked at Boomer and gave a small smile.
"Son you're home I made you your favorite dessert apple pie. Your brothers already ate but I on the other hand can eat another plate. So how about you and I eat dinner together and talk about your day and your new job." Mojo stated.
Boomer gleamed with happiness, "Of course dad let me change and we can eat."
The night went by pretty nice. Mojo and Boomer watched a movie together and he helped him with homework. Boomer helped clean up but once it hit eleven Mojo sent him straight to his room for bed. Boomer sighed happily as he relaxed in his bed and went to bed. He honestly couldn't wait for school tomorrow.
A/N So how was it? Please comment and review tell me what you think I should or should not do. I hope you guys enjoyed and hopefully I'll be back with the next chapters.
