Hello, my peeps, as you may realize this isn't a new chapter of my Young Justice story, now don't be afraid I haven't given up with that story in fact I'm already working on the new chapter, I took a break to figure out where the story was going forward and then finals came around and my life was in shambles, so while I had that break like a month ago this story plagued my mind, and I couldn't focused on the young justice one
So, I started writing, just to get it out off my system and I ended up with a story, so don't worry I will be keeping updating the Naruto x Young Justice one, I will not abandon that story, but now I'm going to be working on two stories, now I don't have a schedule for when I will post for both stories, so you'll have to keep an eye out for updates

The story of Jason
8 years since the rise of the empire
Along time ago in a galaxy far far away stood a planet, hidden on the edges of the galaxy, this planet for all its green and blue that surrounded it no life existed on this planet, the planet was deserted but only two souls, two figures lived on this desolated planet
The first one was a middle-aged blue-haired man, he wore a brown outer robe that covered his entire body, and, on his face, he wore a black eye patch on his right eye covering an ugly scar that run all the way from the top of his eye to his neck and if anyone saw it, they will know that this man had lost his eye on a battle, he was sitting crossed leg facing the second habitant of this desolated planet
Across the man sat a slim 12-year-old boy with dark red hair he also wore a robe like the older male but his were a little bit lighter than the man's outer robes he sat on the floor in the same manner as the middle-aged man but unlike the older male the younger figure had his eyes close as he listens to the instructions that the older man was giving him
"Remember Jason, don't let your mind wander and control your emotions," The man said as he noticed the frown that was forming on the boy's face "You'll need a centered mind for the trials to come," the man said, and the boy let a breath out
"Yes, Master Ren" Jason said as the man looked to the sky and saw that it was already getting dark and decided to put an end to the meditation
"We're done Jason, it's getting dark, and you need rest for tomorrow," Ren said as Jason let a deep breath out and opened his eyes revealing a bright pair of red eyes that resembled a pair of rubies, Ren looked at his protégé in concern as he sensed nervousness on the younger male "What troubles you, young padawan?" The older male asked as they both stood up and started walking toward their ship
"It's just that" Jason started with a tone of uncertainty "Are you sure we should do this master? Aren't you afraid the empire could track us down?" Jason asked not looking at his master
"That could happen of course," Ren said as they neared the ship "But we cannot let our lives be ruled by fear young padawan, that is not the Jedi way," Ren said, and Jason looked confused
"But master, the Jedi council is gone, there is no Jedi way," Jason said with a defeated tone
"Yes, while the Jedi council may be gone, the force still exists and if the force is still around then there is hope," Ren said as they arrived at their ship "And us as Jedis we need to believe in hope and the force, that is the way of the Jedi young padawan," Ren said as he activated the hatch of the ship
"I understand Master," Jason said as they stepped into the ship
The ship was a UT-60D model painted in black with red strings on the middle and the sides, it wasn't a big ship, but it was big enough for two people and it also was quick enough for when they needed to evade the empire
"So, master," Jason said as the hatch closed, and they entered the pilot pit of the ship "Why do we need to leave the planet?" Jason said as the older male sighed in exasperation
"I already told you this young padawan, we are going to Ilum, this planet has the highest concentration of kyber crystals, a crystal essential for making a lightsaber," Ren said as Jason's eyes winded in surprise
"I´m going to the gathering, am I?" Jason asked sarcastically but the master nodded nonetheless "But that process is for younglings when they are ready to become padawans, and I'm already one, it seems weird" Jason rambled, and Ren looked at him with a smirk on his face
"You are right young Jason" Ren said interrupting Jason rambling "But you are an unconventional padawan, we are in a time of uncertainty, and I wanted you to be strong before you create your lightsaber," He said as he started the ship and prepared to take off "I have been giving you an extreme rapid course on the ways of the Jedi, while you already know how to fight with a lightsaber, making your own will be sort of a test for you," Ren said as they entered into hyperspace
"What sort of test?" Jason asked in curiosity as Ren let out a chuckle
"To see if you can become a Jedi knight," Ren said as they travel through hyperspace towards their destination
Ilum
"Jason wake up," Ren said as he shake the sleeping form of his padawan "We´re here," Ren said as Jason started to open his eyes and stir up, he rub his eyes to shake the sleepiness away, and he looked forward as he saw the ship exiting the hyperspace and saw a white planet ahead
"Is that?" Jason asked and his master nodded
"Yes, young Jason, that's Ilum, lets get ready, we shall be entering the planet soon," Ren said as they took a sit in the cockpit and prepared to enter the planet
They landed without a hitch and the hatch of the ship opened as the two Jedis left out the ship, the first thing Jason noticed was the freezing cold of the planet, and shivered a little
"Master, you could at least warned me of the cold" Jason said bitterly as the old man laughed
"When I came here master Yoda didn't warn us, and I didn't complain so suck it up," Ren said with a chuckle
"I don't believe that one bit" Jason whispered so his master didn't hear him, he paid attention again as he saw his master talking again
"I will lead you to the entrance, but I will not enter with you," Ren said as Jason looked at him in confusion "This a journey you must go alone, I cannot help you but I can offer some advice," Ren said as the young padawan put his full attention on his master
"Trust in your training and trust in the force, let them guide you to the path of success," Ren said as they arrived at the gates of the Jedi temple, Ren put his hands on the two massive doors and pushed as he opened the doors slowly wide enough that Jason could enter
"Good luck," Ren said as Jason entered the temple, he saw the light fading and turned as he saw the doors closing behind him
"That's totally not terrifying at all" he murmured sarcastically as he continue to walk forward
Jason travel for a while in the temple and at some point, he found some stairs leading towards a cave and started walking down, he followed the path for a while until he found himself at a crossroads, of two paths, as the paths lead to two different tunnels
"Creepy tunnel number one or creepy tunnel number two?" Jason mumble to himself as he started to head towards the tunnel on the left but stop as he heard laughter coming from the tunnel on the right
"Wait I know that laughter," Jason thought as he run into the tunnel on the right, he ran for a while as he feel he was reaching the origin of the laughter, he reach the end of the tunnel and suddenly he felt the floor disappearing, he turn down as started falling at a quick pace, he felt like screaming but held on as he tried to grab anything to stop the fall, but all his efforts weren't good enough as he kept falling
Suddenly he stopped abruptly as he looked down and saw several rocks spiked under him, he looked up and saw that his outer robe had stuck between rocks preventing the fall
"Holy shit, that was scary" he whispered to himself as he looked around and saw a way out next to the spikes, he look up and saw his stuck outer robe and got an idea
"Here goes nothing," Jason said as he started to remove his robe and grabbed it with his two hands he rocked back and forth to gain momentum and jumped towards the safe spot using a little bit of force on his jump
He landed gracefully and looked up to see his robe tear apart and half of it landing on the pikes
"Shit master Ren is going to kill me" Jason mumble as he stood up revealing his normal outfit which consisted of simple black cargo pants and black boots a white sleeveless shirt and a black sleeveless robe tided with a black belt that had a hood on it, he took out some black sleeveless globes to prevent his hands from getting cold "That's if the cold doesn't kill me" he mumbled to himself as he felt a presence behind him
He turned around and saw a younger him standing at the entrance of a cave, he knew that this couldn't be real but before he could talk to his younger self the child turn around and started running towards the cave
"I guess I have to follow him" Jason whispered to himself as he started walking into the cave, as soon as he took a step forward into the cave, he started to feel heavy and started hearing things, he recognized those sounds, that day still haunted him, he gasped as he felt a vision entering his mind
Flashback
The day the republic fell
"Come on young Jason, we need to run," said a younger-looking Ren as he forced himself up and grabbed the youngling beside him, ignoring his bleeding right eye and kept running towards a ship he saw ahead
"Master Ren," A four-year-old Jason said weekly as he hide his face on the neck of the master "What is happening?" he asked terrified as he felt lives being cut out of the force
"The clones have betrayed us, the republic has fallen, and we will too if we don't get out of here," Ren said as he arrived at the UT-60D black ship and put the youngling on the ship, he felt clones behind him and turned and saw a battalion of them walking towards the to Jedis "Jason, go into the cockpit and put any sort of coordinates you can think off and turn on the autopilot" Ren order as he lights up his lightsaber revealing a bright yellow color
Jason didn't waste any time and went into the cockpit and put the first coordinates that the ship had, an old abandoned planet on the edge of the universe
Meanwhile, Ren was fending the clones pushing back with force and parring the shots as they came towards him, he lost his focus momentarily as he felt the ship lift up, and his eyes winded as he felt a blaster shot hitting his right side and felt back, just as the ship speeds up and the hangar closed itself
He gasped for air as he looked at his side and saw blood, he look up and saw the youngling coming toward him
Jason enter the hangar and saw the bleeding form of the master and screamed in shock "Master Ren!" he screamed as the vision faded away
Ilum
Jason woke up with a gasp and saw he was in a clearing surrounded by white crystals and ice, he looked up and saw his younger self sitting on the floor with a sad look
"Why are you sad?" Jason asked his younger self ignoring how weird this experience was
"I miss our clan, and Master Ren is dying" The younger Jason sniffed "he keeps it hidden but I know, I see him coughing blood all the time," the younger Jason said with tears in his eyes and the older one nodded in understanding
"I know, but we cannot be afraid, death is a natural thing and when our master leaves, I know he will still live in my heart and in the force, that is the Jedi way," he said as he put a hand on the youngling's shoulder "There's no need to be sad anymore," he said as the vision faded away and Jason saw a kyber crystal ahead, he took out the single-handed electrum lightsaber and place it on the ground
He grabbed the crystal and gently junked it out of the ice and put it in the middle of his palms, he closed his eyes and pour Force into the crystal as his master told him to, he opened his eyes and saw the crystal glowing bright yellow light, he put it into the lightsaber and activated as he saw a bright yellow light coming out of his lightsaber, he smirked in excitement as he tested the lightsaber with fluid movements of form 2 of lightsaber combat
Once he was done, he smiled and ran towards the exit in hopes of showing his master what he had accomplished, he exited the cave and saw his master waiting for him at the front entrance of their ship
He walked towards him, the cold long forgotten as his excitement rule his body "Master Ren! I made it" Jason exclaimed as he lit up his lightsaber and the Jedi Master smirked as he saw the color of the lightsaber
"Yellow huh? It's a very special color" Ren remarked as Jason looked at him in confusion
"Why is it special?" Jason asked as the master entered the ship and Jason followed him without a question
"It's very simple, but first answer me this question," Ren said as they entered the cockpit and started to head out towards their secluded home "How many schools of the Jedi way were there?" The master asked and Jason responded with confusion
"There were two, Master, the guardian path, those people focused on fighting with lightsabers and they usually used blue lightsabers," Jason said and took a breath as he recalled the second type of Jedi "Then there was the consular path, these were the Jedi's that took a more diplomatic approach and they usually carried green lightsabers," Jason said, and Ren nodded in appreciation
"It seems my teachings have stuck with you I'm glad," Ren said, and Jason deadpanned remembering the sort of lessons he took from his master, and then cringed at the phantom pains of the torturous method teaching of his sadistic master
"The thing is young Jason" Ren said bringing Jason´s focus back towards his teacher "There's a third type of school for Jedis," Ren said taking a pause so his former padawan could handle the shock "We were called the Sentinels," he said as Jason found his voice again
"The Sentinels? I've never heard of them," Jason said with a frown on his face
"That's not surprising after all Sentinels were not well-liked on the Jedi council," Ren said as Jason gained a look of shock on his face "They didn't like us because we didn't believe in tradition, and we would always search for understanding and we would always be on the search for something new and exciting," Master Ren said with a smile on his face
"That doesn't seem bad, why wouldn't the council like the Sentinels?" Jason asked in curiosity and the older male sighed
"Well young padawan, it's because we didn't believe in the council's way," Ren said as he took a moment to gather his thoughts "The council believed in detachment and not forming any bonds, they believed that these attachments could lead to the dark side, they were too afraid of the dark side and didn't understand it," Ren said as the young padawan focused on every single word of his master, "We thought otherwise," he said as he started coughing a little bit
"What do you mean master?" Jason asked as the master stopped coughing
"Well the force is always there, and it surrounds us and the dark side of the force is also always there, if we ignore it we are fools, and if we fear it we are cowards, and that's not the Jedi way," Ren said as he crossed his arms "We believed that if we encounter a being using the dark side, our fear will stop us from taking action against our enemy, so we study it, we understand it and we prepare against it because the most dangerous enemy is the one we don't know of," Ren said as Jason went into deep thought
"You mean like the emperor?" Jason asked and Ren nodded
"Yes, Emperor Palpatine or as he was called in the republic Chancellor Palpatine," Ren said as he thought of the times of the republic "We were blind to the emperor Palpatine's power because we didn't understand his power, that lack of understanding and our own ego was the main reason of our fall, so I refuse to fall on the same ways of old, I will teach you everything I know, after all, I don't have much time," he said as he looked at his hand and saw the blood he had spit on it
"How long do you have Master?" Jason asked in concern no longer hiding the fact that he knew his master was sick
"You were always really perceptive, how long have you known?" Ren asked in wonder as his young padawan fidgeted on his seat nervously
"I have known for two years now master," Jason said nervously "I didn't want to say anything because I was afraid, but fear is not the Jedi way," Jason said with confidence in his eyes
Ren smiled and ruffled his padawan's hair as he looked at the horizon "A year maybe two, but that's all we need, I will make you the best Jedi Sentinel there is" Ren said as he lift his hand from his padawan's head
"I'm ready Master," Jason said full of conviction
Desolated planet
10 years since the rise of the empire
"Master, do you feel that?" Jason asked as he felt a burning cold all over his body "It's so cold and full of hatred" Jason said as he looked around trying to find the source of the feeling
"Shit, he found us," Ren said as he stood up and signal his protégé to follow him
"Who found us?" Jason asked in fear as they run toward their ship
"The emperor's shadow, Darth Vader," Ren said in a whisper as he look up and saw a single TIE Fighter approaching the planet "Listen to me Jason, my time is running out, and I already taught you everything you need to know, here," Ren said as he handed his lightsaber to Jason "Listen to me and follow my instructions, I will draw him out and when you see the chance, leave with the ship and run," Ren said as he started to walk away
"But master I can't keep running away from things!" Jason protested as he started to follow his master but felt the force push him away and saw that his master had done that
"You're not running away in fear Jason, your running so you can live to fight another day," Ren said as he stood at the exit of their camp "You must live and find people to form bonds with, trust in those people and trust in the force, and do not be afraid," Ren said as he started to run away towards the Sith Lord
"Because fear is not the Jedi way," Jason said as he put his master lightsaber on his left side and ran towards the ship
Ren ran through the forest letting the force out signaling his position in hopes to mascaraed his apprentice position, he stop when he heard a deep breathing sound and look to his right and saw a towering dark figure there, the figure reveal his position by lighting his red lightsaber and face the old Jedi
"There's nowhere to run Jedi, you will die here," Darth Vader said and moved forward to strike as Ren maneuvered around him
"That may be true, but you will lose here, you Sith scumbag" Ren said as he push forward with the force but didn't affect the Sith lord
"Where is your lightsaber Jedi? Do you honestly believe you can defeat me without one?" Darth Vader said making Ren smirk
"I don't need a lightsaber to fight you, I only need my connection to the force" Ren said with a smirk on his face
"That arrogance will be your downfall Jedi," Darth Vader said as he readied himself to strike again but stop as he saw a ship flying away and entering hyperspace, he turn to look at the laughing Jedi
"I told you, you lose," Ren said as he started coughing and fell to his knees, he felt that his time was coming "I'm one with the force and the force is with me" he whispered as Darth Vader struck and cut off his head
Lothal
14 years since the rise of the empire
"Dammit that dream again" Jason whispered as he woke up and rub his face, he got up and walk to his closet and took his regular armor out, he put his stormtrooper boots he had stolen and painted black, out and he put his torn Jedi black robe on, the robe only had the bottom part as it had been torn in half, but Jason still used it because it reminded him of his master, he ties it up with a red slim belt and put his lightsabers on his back, then he put on a tight long-sleeved shirt that had a hoodie attached to it, he then took his armor that he bought from a salesman, he put on the chest plate that he had customized himself, he had painted the thing black and then proceed to put armor on his arms and hands, these were painted dark red mimicking the color of his hair

"I look like a Mandalorian but without a helmet" Jason mused as he saw his reflection, he then heard a sound on his right signaling he was entering the planet
"My contact said to meet him on the marketplace in Lothal, and to keep a low profile," Jason thought as he entered the cockpit of his ship and landed on the outskirts of the town in Lothal "Ok Jason, lets hope for no surprises" he whispered to himself as he saw the hangar opening and quickly exit the ship, he put on his hoodie and walk towards the market in Lothal
He walked towards the market and entered it he stop as he saw imperials harassing a small vendor, he thought of intervening but shook his head as he continue to search for his contact, he reached a wall that had a picture of the empire logo on black and leaned on the wall, his body fully hiding the logo, this was the signal his contact had created for him
"Any problems getting here?" A voice said to his right, but Jason didn't turn to look at the owner of the voice
"None, but something feels off, why do the imperials look more restless than usual?" Jason said as he saw more stormtroopers patrolling the streets than usual
"Today in the morning some thieves stole some creates from the empire, and these stormtroopers are waiting for someone to arrive, but I do not know who," The contact said, and Jason nodded
"So, did you find where they are keeping the wookies?" Jason asked and the contact nodded although Jason didn't see it
"Yes, there is a cargo ship that is supposed to carry the wookies into whatever planer they are keeping them, here," The contact said as he passed him a disk with the signal of the ship, Jason looked at the coordinates of the ship and growl in frustration
"How am I supposed to get there, TIE Fighters can't travel through hyperspace," Jason thought with a frown as he looked at the signal but then his eyes winded in shock as he saw where the signal was heading and then he check the schedule of the ship "Wait a minute, this says that the sip is scheduled to orbit Lothal, what the hell?" Jason said in shock
"Yes, apparently they are loading stormtroopers into the cargo ship, for what reason I don't know," The contact said as Jason gained a frown on his face
"They're preparing for a trap, this information has anyone else asked for it?" Jason asked and the contact hummed
"Now that I think of it Visago, local thug here on Lothal, mentioned he needed the information for a rebel group that had been asking for any information on wookies recently," The contact said, and Jason cursed mentally
"The trap is probably for them, but if they are using the same transport ship there's no way I cannot go," Jason said in frustration and then sighed "Thanks for the information old friend I'll see what I can do for the wookies," Jason said as he separates himself from the wall
"Go to hangar 7, there you will find the way into the cargo ship," The contact said as he started to head out "Good luck my friend," the contact said before he disappeared into the crowd
"What a weird guy," Jason thought as he travel through the city towards hangar 7, when he arrived the first thing, he saw was the empire wrapping up and loading stormtroopers to the TIE Fighters, he quickly went to one TIE Fighter that was closer to him and snuck inside of it, he saw the stormtrooper inside turn around and saw him but before he could alert the others, Jason wave his hand in the face of the stormtrooper and use the force to trick him
"It was an animal, and it went away, there's no one but you in this ship" Jason whispered and the stormtrooper nodded and repeat his words
The TIE took off and quickly connected to the cargo ship as the stormtrooper went into the main ship to prepare for entering hyperspace
"Ok, I'll wait a few minutes before I make my move, might as well make myself comfortable," Jason thought as he sat crossed-legged on the TIE Fighter and close his eyes to prepare mentally for the mission ahead
Space
A few minutes later
"Attention soldiers, rebels are arriving on the ship, remember the plan," A voice said through the come as Jason exited the TIE ship, and head towards the communication center
"Gotta thank the empire for making all ships the same, makes it easier for infiltration jobs," Nate thought with a smirk as he approached the communication center, he took a breath in and pressed the button to open the door and his eyes winded at what he saw
He saw two stormtroopers on the floor and a girl wearing a Mandalorian armor leaning on the computers, he glanced to his right and saw a droid working on another set of computers, he cough into his fist loudly to gain the attention of the female
"Wait, I'm not a stormtrooper!" Jason said putting his hands up in a peaceful manner as he saw the Mandalorian girl pointing a blaster at him
"Who are you!?" The girl demanded still pointing the blaster at him
"I'm just a bounty hunter on a job, I have no quarrel with you," Jason said lower his hands as the Mandalorian girl lowered her blaster
"What job?" The Mandalorian girl demanded, and Jason let out a sigh
"I'm looking for some wookies, apparently this ship used to carry them so I'm hoping to get some information from the ship," Jason said, and he could feel the confusion on the girl, he walk to a computer and inserted a flash drive he had made and started hacking the log information looking for information and any indication of where they took the wookies
"Wait what do you mean used to?" The girl asked as she and the droid continue working on whatever they were doing
"Apparently some thieves stole some crates on Lothal and a general had suspicions of being a rebel cell, so they search for information and realized someone was looking for ship carrying wookies, so they set up the trap in hopes of catching the rebels," Jason said and saw the shoulders of the Mandalorian girl tensing "I'm going to take a wild guess and say you are part of this rebel cell, aren't you?" Jason asked and the girl nodded
"Shit, they jammed communications with the ship" The girl cursed as Jason saw that the downloading was almost done "Kanan, this is a trap!" Jason heard what the girl say but couldn't hear the response she got, he saw the downloading was done and took out the flash drive and then he heard the girl talking
"I got the backup ready," The girl said, and Jason looked at her in confusion
"Backup?" Jason asked in confusion as he saw her pushing something on the computers and winded when she pressed a button and felt artificial gravity turning off "Oh shit" Jason cursed as he grabbed a nearby pillar "You're crazy!" He said to the girl and swore he could hear the girl chuckling
"Artificial gravity down for two minutes," The girl said and put some explosives on the computer "You got a way out of here?" she asked
"I was planning to steal a TIE fighter, but I guess that's not an option now," he said and saw the droid flying closer to him
"Grab unto Chopper, we will give a ride out in exchange for your information," she said as Jason nodded and grabbed one of the legs of the droids
"That's fair," he said as the droid propelled itself forward and travel across the hallways of the ship, they stopped at a crossroads where two unconscious stormtroopers were floating around, and then he turn around as he heard the girl counting down
"Ready?" She asked and Jason looked at her in confusion he was going to ask what she meant but stopped when he felt gravity coming back up, he crouched down as he landed gracefully and looked at the girl with a smirk on his face
"You're really fucking crazy," he said, and the girl turn to look at him
"Maybe I am," she said with a chuckle and was preparing to say more but stopped and looked behind him making Jason turn and saw three figures coming towards them, two humans, one younger than the other and a Lasat, they stopped, and the three figures stopped in front of them
"Who's this?" the Lasat asked in a gruff voice with a glare on his face but before anything could escalate the girl intervene
"Leave the questions for later we need to get out of here," she said as the man with brown hair and goatee nodded
"Right, Sabine man the nose gun, chop tell Hera to take off" The man with brown hair ordered, and Jason not looking for trouble followed the Mandalorian girl
He follow her and his eyes winded when she took off her helmet "She's cute" Jason thought as he saw the face of the girl revealing a bright blue and orange hair and her brown eyes and tan skin, he shook his head focusing on the moment and spoke
"Need any help?" Jason offered and the Mandalorian turned to look at him
"Nah, I'm good, do you need any help sorting out the information you download?" she asked as she took a seat on the nose gun
"Do you have any imperial processor by any chance, or any regular computer may work now that I think about it" he mumbled, and then his eyes winded where the Mandalorian girl threw an imperial processor at him "Do I even wanna know where you got this?" Jason asked sarcastically and the girl chuckled
"Probably not, head forward and then turn to the right, there you will find our dining area," She said as Jason turned around and started following her instructions "I'll find you when this is done," she said as they heard the captain of the ship saying that the airlock had shut and felt the ship moving
Jason entered the dining area and took a sit on the couch and put the processor on the table, he opened it and inserted the flash drive on the processor, and started programming on it, he felt the sip rock as he heard an explosion and figured they were in the clear as he felt the ship going to hyperspace, he saw his code started to work on the processor and knew that it was only a matter of time before he found what he was looking for
He looked up and saw the Mandalorian girl walking towards him carrying her helmet on her left side, she place it on the table and took a seat next to him
"So did you get the information?" She asked as the processor sorted the imperial files rapidly
"Not yet, but it's just a matter of time," Jason said as he looked at her "I don't think I introduce myself properly, name's Jason, nice to meet you, Sabine," he said and the girl chuckled as she shook hands with the man in front of her
"I reckon you heard Kanan saying my name," She said sarcastically, and Jason nodded "The others should be here soon, Zeb will probably try to intimidate you so don't take it personally," Sabine said and Jason chuckled
"I'll try not to," Jason said as he heard footsteps heading towards them, three figures enter the dining area and Jason took a moment to take a mental picture of their features, the first one was a female Twi'lek with green skin and she was drees in a pilot type of outfit, the next one he stared at was a human man with brown hair and a goatee, he wore a green sweater and blue pants and a shoulder armor on his right arm, something about this man felt familiar but he couldn't think about it too long as he felt someone glaring at him, he turns and looked at the big purple Lasat that was glaring at him and from what Sabine had said he guessed this was Zeb
"Hello there" Jason greet them with a cheeky voice that made the three figures narrow their eyes at him
"Who are you?" The human male asked him with narrowed eyes and Jason couldn't help himself
"You know it´s common courtesy to introduce yourself first before asking strangers names," Jason said in a sarcastic voice and swore he heard a snort coming from the girl next to him, the Lasat growled at him, and the Twi'lek, who by the outfit Jason guessed she was the pilot of the ship, took over before things could escalate
"I'm Hera Syndulla, I'm the pilot of this ship," she said as she signal at the human male next to her "This one here is Kanan Jarrus, leader of our crew," she said as she move her hand and pointed at the Lasat "The one glaring at you is Zeb Orelios and I see you already know Sabine Wren our resident mechanic," she said as Jason took a moment to learn their names
"Nice introduction," Jason said causing Hera to smile at the praise "Name's Jason, bounty hunter and mercenary, at your services," Jason said as Zeb scoffed at him
"Aren't you a little young to be a mercenary?" Zeb asked sarcastically but Jason didn't take the bait and just shrugged
"Anyway, can I ask what you were doing on the imperial ship?" Hera asked and Jason nodded
"I got a job, simple enough, locate and release some wookies that have been taken by the empire," Jason said as the crew's eyes winded in surprise "The only lead I had was that ship that was recently used for Wookie transportation, but when my contact and I saw that they were loading stormtroopers unto the ship on Lothal, we knew it was a setup," he said and Sabine's eyes winded
"So that's how you knew that it was a trap," she said in realization, and Jason chuckle
"Well yeah and also the fact that when they saw your ship approaching, they said to be ready and to remember the plan, so I guessed that also helped," Jason said, and the crew sighed in frustration
"We should've seen it was a trap," Hera said "It was too perfect, now there's no way we're finding those wookies," she said in defeat
"Not exactly," Sabine said as the crew looked at her as she signal the male next to him "There's a reason he's here on the ship," She said as she turn and face the young mercenary "Tell them," she said and Jason nodded
"Right, even if the ship got rid of the wookies, the empire has the bad habit of not deleting their logs," Jason said as he put a hand on the processor "This thing right here is searching every single log of the imperial ship that has anything to do with wookies, if that ship carried even one Wookie, which we know they did, I will find the mission log and will be able to find where they are keeping them," Jason said with a smirk on his face as he saw the hopeful looks on the crew's faces
"Thank you, but I'm not sure we can pay you," The leader of the crew said as Jason looked at him in confusion
"Pay me?" Jason asked out loud in confusion
"Yes, for your information," Kanan said and Jason's eyes winded as he realized what the leader meant
"Oh you don't have to pay me," Jason said with laughter in his voice "I already made a deal with Sabine, you gave me an exit from the ship and I gave you the information," Jason said as the crew minus Sabine let out a sigh of relief "Besides they are probably are keeping the wookies in a planet fortify by the empire, it might as well give you the information and we can help each other" Jason said with a smile and Kanan narrowed his eyes
"Help each other?" he asked, and Jason nodded
"Yeah, I'll give you the info and a helping hand, besides once you rescue the wookies what are you going to do? Where are they going?" Jason asked sarcastically and nobody could answer him "My contact said that he could smuggle them into the rebel base on Kashyyyk," Jason said, and the crew looked at each other
"That seems like a good idea, I think we should let him help us," Hera said as the crew nodded and then she turn and looked at the red-haired teen "How long till you get the information?" Hera asked and Jason looked at the processor
"Between five or ten minutes give or take," Jason said, and Hera nodded
"Sorry about the tension around here, it hasn't been a smooth day," Hera said, and Jason shook his head
"No need to worry, I guess being set up isn't fun," Jason said and Hera chuckled
"You're right it isn't," she said as she turn to fac Kanan "I'll have to thank the kid, he did a good job," she said with a smile
"He did alright," Kanan said with a sigh and Jason whispered to Sabine in confusion
"Kid?" Jason asked in confusion
"A street rat that infiltrated our ship and went with us on the mission," Sabine said with an exasperated sigh and Jason nodded
"Where is he?" Kanan asked the Lasat, and Zeb let out a defeated sigh
"Oh, that doesn't sound good" Jason whispered as they started at the Lasat
"Zeb what did you do to him?" Sabine asked him and the Lasat scratched his head nervously
"I didn't do anything to him," Zeb said and then whisper something that shocked the crew "But that ISP agent grabbed him" He whispered
"What!?" The crew minus Jason screams at him
"The kid got grabbed ok!" Zeb screamed at them
"Garazeb Orelios!" Hera said in anger as the Lasat flinched at hearing his full name
"Oh, come on!" Zeb started to defend himself "We were dumping him off after the mission anyways! This saves us fuel, they'll go easy on him, he's just a kid," he said, and the crew went silent
"Wow dude," Jason said breaking the silence "That's pretty cold," he said with a frown on his face "And also delusional," he said as the Lasat looked at him in shock "They'll probably force him in some sort of trooper training, and that's the best-case scenario," Jason said and notice the haunted look on the leader of the crew
"We are going back for him," Hera said with conviction
"What!? No way!" Zeb said and Hera glared at him
"It's our fault he's there, and you heard Jason there's no way of knowing what they will do with him," Hera said in frustration
"They'll be waiting for us," Sabine said in a defeated tone "We cannot save him," Sabine said and Hera sigh in defeat
"We'll go after him," Kanan said with conviction as the crew looked at him
"Kanan you can't be serious!" Zeb said but Kanan ignore him and talked to the entirety of the crew
"If we abandon him there, then we'll be betraying the reason why we form this team, we aren't the empire we do not throw people away," Kanan said as he turn to look at Hera "Turn the ship around we're going back for him," Kanan said as Hera nodded and went into the cockpit, Kanan turn and looked at the mercenary on the ship
"I'll understand if you refuse to help," Kanan said and Jason whistled in appreciation as he realized he was being guilt-tripped into helping
"Wow you're good," Jason said with a smirk "I'll help the faster we rescue this kid the faster we can save the wookies," Jason said as he stood up and shake the man's hand
Imperial ship sometime later
The ship, which Jason learned was called the Ghost, landed smoothly on the imperial shim, and quickly the hangar open revealing five people waiting
"Go find Ezra, I'll wait for you here," Hera said as the crew plus Jason run towards the entrance of the imperial ship
"Sabine, Jason, go into the coms and try to find a way to distract the stormtroopers," Kanan said as both teens nodded "Zeb stay here and hold this bay until we get back" Kanan ordered
"And this time try not to leave until everyone's back on board" Sabin jabbed at him and Jason chuckled at the comment
"That was not my fault!" Zeb protested and stopped when he heard a voice from above
"Well, that's debatable," Ezra said from the vent as he dropped down wearing a stormtrooper helmet, Zeb didn't hesitate and punched the kid making him stumble backward and would've fallen if it weren't for Jason who catches him before he could fall
"Dude what the hell," Ezra said taking off his helmet "First you ditch me then you hit me," Ezra said in frustration
"How was I supposed to know it was you? You're wearing a bucket" Zeb said, and Jason almost laughed at that but stopped himself when he heard footsteps coming toward them
"We don't have time for this move it," he said as he ran towards the ship followed closely by the crew, he arrived at the ship and took cover as he provided cover fire with a blaster that he had borrowed from Sabine
"Ghost raise the ramp," Kanan said as the ship started to close itself and they let out a breath of relief when the shooting stopped "Do it" Kanan order Sabine as she pressed a button and Jason heard an explosion behind the closed ramp
Jason sighed in relief as he handed the blaster back to Sabine "You can keep it, you'll probably need it" Sabine said but Jason gave her nonetheless
"It's fine, besides I don't like blasters," Jason said as Sabine looked at him in shock
"Then how did you become a mercenary?" Sabine asked as the crew headed towards the dining area
"Hey, Jason!" Hera said as they entered the dining area "I think it's done" she said as she pointed at the beeping processor
"Right," Jason said as he took a sit on the couch and looked at the processor
"Welcome back aboard," Hera said as she put a hand on Ezra's shoulder
"Thank you," Ezra said nodding his head a bit "I really didn't think you'll come back for me," he said with a small smile
"We'll get you home, I'm sure your parents must be sick," Hera said as she started to head towards the cockpit to put the coordinates towards Lothal
"I don't have any parents," Ezra said in a small voice as everyone stared at him in sadness "And I'm sure you got somewhere else to be," Ezra said until he remember something and his eyes winded "Wait I almost forgot, I know where they are keeping the wookies," he said as he started to say the place where they were, but Jason interrupted him
"They are on the Spice Mines of Kessel," Jason said as he rubbed his face in frustration
"Yeah, he's right," Ezra said with a smile on his face until he frowned as he didn't know who Jason was "Wait who are you?" He asked
"I'm Jason, mercenary," Jason said simply and looked at the captain of the ship "If they are keeping them there, we cannot afford to waste a detour," he said as Hera nodded
"Why?" Ezra asked in curiosity and Hera answer him
"Because of the weather, unlike Kashyyyk, the mines are known for their incredible hot weather, wookies biology is not made for extremely hot weather," Hera said, and Ezra got a look of conviction
"Then we need to go and save them," Ezra said, and the crew looked at him in confusion
"We?" Sabine asked him and Ezra nodded
"I come this far might as well finish the job," Ezra said as Hera smiled and went into the cockpit
"Setting the course for Kessel," Hera said as the crew ready themselves mentally for the mission ahead
Kessel sometime later
"Are you sure you don't need a blaster?" Sabine asked as they prepared to get off the ship
"Trust me I'm fine," Jason said as he discreetly patted his lightsabers on his back "I'm pretty resourceful, I don't like uncivilized weapons," Jason said as Sabine stared at him in confusion but Kanan, who had heard the conversation, winded in surprise
"Could it be…" Kanan thought as the ship landed on the planet
The ramp of the ship opened up as they jump and immediately took cover behind some crates, Zeb and Sabine provided cover allowing Ezra to get to the wookies and free them from their shackles, the wookies took charge and took care of the remaining troopers
"That was easy," Ezra said, and Jason cursed
"Great now you jinxed us," he said as he heard a ship coming towards them "Take cover" Jason ordered as the ship fired at them, they ran and took cover behind some creates again, and the Ghost had to leave to prevent any sort of destruction
The imperial cargo ship landed and the ISP agent that had grabbed Ezra exited the ship followed by a battalion of troopers
"Well shit, any ideas?" Jason asked as he took cover behind a crate and looked toward Kanan
"I can't maintain position," Hera said over the coms and Kanan responded, "Go, lead the TIEs away, and give yourself maneuvering room!" Kanan said and Hera immediately responded to him
"I'm not leaving you behind," Hera said and Kanan looked around for inspiration and saw a big compartment
"So, what do we do boss?" Jason said as he gripped one of his lightsabers in case it was needed
"You won't, we are running a 22-pickup," Kanan said responding to both Hera and Jason in the process
"Seriously?" Sabine asked in exasperation
"Do you have a better idea?" Kanan asked rhetorically but Zeb answer him nonetheless "Uh, get in and get it over with?" He asked as he pointed at the troopers
"22-pickup? Care to let me in on the secret?" Ezra asked frustrated and Kanan turn to look at him
"Kid, I'm about to let everyone in on the secret," he said as he stood up and jumped across the crate
"No way…" Jason whispered as he felt the force coursing through Kanan and couldn't stop the smile that form on his face "I'm not alone" he thought as Kanan dodged with ease the blasts and lit up his lightsaber
The troopers stopped firing as they waited for commands and the ISP took a moment to clear out his shock and gave the order
"Everyone, focus your fire on… the Jedi" the ISP agent said with a frown on his face and in all that moment Jason was debating what to do and came to a conclusion and acted "No more running away" Jason thought
He jumped from a crate with the help of the force and took out both his lightsaber and his master's one and lit them on, reveling a bright beautiful yellow color on each lightsaber he landed next to the leader of the crew and smirked as he saw the troopers hesitated for a moment "Hey old man, mind if I give you a hand" he said without looking at Kanan, his sole fuscous were on the troopers
Instead of responding to the young mercenary he turn and looked at the ghost crew "Get out of here now!" he ordered as Zeb lead the wookies into the containers
Both Jedis started parring the blasts from the troopers and throwing them back at them, Kanan took his time to admire the work the young mercenary was doing, and Jason used both sabers and alternate holdings as he swing the sabers around to parry the blasts, unlike Kanan who used a more basic type of form
"Kanan, I think you inspire the kid into doing something you would do," Zeb said and the Jedis noticed that Ezra and the ISP agent were gone
"I'll take care of the troopers you go after the kid," Jason said as he ran forward and pull a clone towards him "I'll catch up with you," he said as he slash forward with his two sabers in an x form killing two stormtroopers
Jason danced around the troopers using the force to pull and push troopers around while slashing them off, he took a breath in as he notice he wasn't being shot at anymore, he looked around and noticed that he had taken care of all the stormtroopers
"This is a piece of cake compared to the hellish training master Ren put me through," Jason thought as he ran towards where he felt Kanan was going, he saw Ezra being cornered by the ISP agent on a bridge, he didn't hesitate, and force jumped and landed gracefully behind the agent with his two lightsabers drawn out
"I suggest you stop pointing that blaster to kids' agent" Jason threaten but mentally he was so embarrassed by himself "Man I'll never figure out how to be threatening, dammit," Jason thought as he didn't hear what the agent said and hoped it wants important, the agent ready himself for battel but stopped as the Ghost flew over the bridge with Kanan on top of it
"Its over, you are surrounded agent," Kanan said, and the ISP agent scoffed and shoot at him, Kanan parry him and send the blast back to him making the agent fall down from the bridge from the impact
"Both of you jump on," Kanan said as Jason jumped onto the ship turning his lightsabers off and putting them behind him, he entered the Ship as he felt Ezra and the Wookie child following him
Kanan lead them towards the container where all the wookies were, as the Wookie child reunited with his father, Kanan put a hand on Ezra in a proud manner, and he shared a looked with Jason signaling they needed to talk
"We're on course for Lothal" Hera announced and Kanan nodded at her and turn to look at Ezra " Go and greet them, they'll probably wanna say thank you," he said as the kid nodded and went and meddle with the wookies
"Subtle" Jason remarked as he walk towards the dining area "So, you're a Jedi huh?" Jason asked as he took a sit on the couch and Kanan took a sit in front of him
"Yes, but I never reached past the padawan label, the republic fell before I could advance," Kanan said, and Jason nodded
"Well technically only the council could grant you the new label so, technically I'm still a youngling" Jason chuckled making the older man smirk "How old were you when it happen?" Jason asked and Kanan sighed as he remember that day
"I was fourteen, my master sacrifice herself for me and I ran away," Kanan said with sadness in his voice
"Huh funny, the same thing happened to me," Jason said as he tightened his fist remembering that day "I was four when the republic fell, I was a youngling so I was on Coruscant when it happened," Jason said and Kanan cursed mentally "I was lucky, Master Ren, the Jedi who found me in my planet always made sure to check on me and play with me whenever he arrived at Coruscant, he was supposed to leave the next day, imagine the odds," Jason said with a bitter chuckle
"So, you and your master managed to escape, didn't you?" Kanan asked and Jason nodded
"Master didn't die on that day, but he was injured beyond repair and started to die slowly, he told me this when I went to create my lightsaber, and then he started training me in the ways of the Sentinels," Jason said and Kanan winded in surprise
"That's why I didn't recognize your forms, I should've known," Kanan said, and Jason looked at him in shock
"Do you know what the Sentinels were?" Jason asked and Kanan nodded
"My master had a high respect for them even if she didn't approve of their teachings," Kanan said, and Jason nodded
"That's understandable, even the council didn't approve of our methods, but that's gone now, like everything else," Jason said and continue his story "My master died 4 years ago, when I was 14 years old too, he found us, the emperor's shadow and my master was already dying so he told me to run, and I did," Jason said as he stared at the lightsaber of his master "That day as I felt my master being cut out from the force I promise myself to never run again and to never be afraid because that is not the Jedi way," Jason said and Kanan smiled at the conviction the teen was showing
"Guys we will be arriving at Lothal shortly," Hera said as he entered the dining room "It's everything alright?" she asked as he notice the tension in the air
"Yeah, everything's fine," Kanan said with a small smile on his face and then turn to face the mercenary "What will you do after this?" Kanan asked and Jason shrugged
"I don't know," Jason said and Kanan thought for a second and looked at Hera for permission, she nodded and then Kanan spoke again
"Well, if you like you could join us, in this time of the empire, being alone as a Jedi could be fatal and we could always use a helping hand," Kanan asked and Jason frowned as he thought for a second
"Can I think about it?" he asked and both of them nodded
"Of course, but answer us before we live Lothal, we can´t stay too long in one place," Kanan said, and Jason nodded
"That reminds me I should probably reach my contact," he said as he took out a comlink and activated it
"Did you find them?" A gruff voice sounded on the coms and Jason chuckle
"I'm wounded old friend not even a how are you?" He asked sarcastically but then Jason got serious "Yeah I found them, turns out we were right and it was a trap, and I met the ones who trap was made for," Jason said as he looked at Hera and Kanan and saw that Ezra, Sabine, and Zeb were entering the dining area
"Really, that's fortunate, I supposed you got them to help you," The voice said, and Jason nodded
"Yes, they're good people, so where should I meet you?" Jason asked as he locked eyes with the captain´s ship
"I park my ship next to yours so, you should know where," The voice said, and Jason growled in frustration
"I'm not even going to bother asking how you know where my ship was, there's also another issue," Jason said as the crew looked at him in confusion
"There's always an issue, what is it this time?" The voice said and Jason leaned back on the couch
"You can't go back straight to Kashyyyk, the empire knows the wookies escaped from Kessel and will probably search for them, also I've seen your ship there's no way in hell you could fit all of the wookies in there," Jason said as he rubbed his face in annoyance
"How many wookies are there?" The voice asked and Jason look at Hera, asking the question mentally
"Fifteen adults and one child," Hera said
"Shit, ok land here and will figure something out, it's best to stay out of space right now," The voice said as the communication link ended
"Asshole hung up on me," Jason said as he let out a sigh and took a tracker and toss it to Hera "That leads to my ship it should help you know where we are going," he said, and Hera nodded as she heads towards the cockpit
"Maybe if I join the crew the wookies can use…. holy shit," Jason thought as his eyes winded at the idea he just had "The force works in mysterious ways indeed" He whispered to himself as he felt the ship entering the atmosphere of the planet
Lothal
14 years since the rise of the Empire
"So Kanan went to talk to Ezra?" Jason asked Sabine as they waited in front of Jason's ship with the wookies for the contact to arrive
"Yes, something about the force, and Hera said that she should stay in the ship in case anything goes wrong," Sabine said, and Jason nodded in understanding
"That doesn't explain why Zeb isn't here," Jason said as he looked at the horizon
"He's cleaning the ship," Sabine said, and Jason raised an eyebrow in a questioning manner, "Hera said that it was punishment for leaving Ezra behind" Sabine explained, and Jason chuckled
"I'm glad I'm not in his position," Jason said while getting his laughter under control, he looked to his right and spoke to Sabine "He's here," he said as a figure approached both of them, and Sabine put her helmet one
"I'm guessing this one is part of the crew you talked about," The figure said as he took off his hoodie revealing a 30-year-old looking male with a stubble of a beard and dark hair
"Yes, Sabine this is Cassian Andor, Andor this is Sabine Wren," he said introducing each other as both figures nod to one another
"So did you think of a solution to our predicament?" Andor asked as Jason took out something from his right pocket
"Yeah, I have, here," Jason said as he tossed some keys to the older male
"What's this?" Andor said looking at the keys
"Keys to my ship, consider my contribution to the rebellion," he said as both Sabine and Andor's eyes winded in surprise
"Are you sure? How are you going to leave this planet?" Andor asked in concern and Jason waved it off
"I´m joining the Ghost crew," He said smiling at the feeling of shock Sabine was pouring out "May path lead me to them, and I sense that I need to remain with them, to help where I can," Jason said and Andor nodded in understanding
"I suppose I'll have to pay you for the ship now too," Andor said but Jason shook his head
"There's no need, like I said this is my contribution to the rebellion, just pay me what we agreed, and we will be good to go," Jason said and Andor nodded giving him the right amount of credits they had discussed
"Well then good luck on your journey my friend," Andor said, and Jason smiled
"And may the force be with you my friend," Jason said as he and Sabine started to head towards the Ghost, he then winced as Sabine punched his right arm
"What was that for!?" Jason asked as he rubbed his arm, cursing himself for taking off his armor
"You could've told me you were joining," Sabine said in anger and Jason scratched his head nervously
"Well actually I decided while we waited for Andor, of course, Kanan and Hera offered but I haven't given them my answer," Jason said, and Sabine nodded
"So, you are joining us then?" Sabine asked and mentally cheered at the idea of having him on board, it was good to have someone close to her age on board "Can I ask why did you decide to join us?" Sabine asked and Jason smirked as he couldn't help himself
"Well, there are many reasons, but if I had to pick the main one" he mused as he put his hand on his chin "I'll have to say that it's because the crew has a beautiful Mandalorian girl on the crew," he said with a cheeky smirk and dodge the punch that Sabine threw at him
"How could you say something that embarrassing!?" Sabine asked as she took out her helmet and threw it at him, Jason laughed as he saw the pink color on her cheeks as she stormed out towards the ship
Jason grabbed the helmet and look at it before looking at the sky and thought
"I'll make you proud Master," he thought as he took a step forward into his new life
