Chapter One: Lost in Another World
Three teens stare agape as a fair-skinned woman with blond hair loosely tied in two low ponytails stands between them.
"You said you could summon alcohol not women!"
"I can! This has never happened before."
"I mean, she is holding a bottle of something. Have you been stealing this whole time?"
"You think I'm a thief?! I don't know where it comes from. It's just a quirk. A QUIRK! It's always been just alcohol."
"Right, so the first time you invite us over you just happen to summon a person."
"I told you my quirk has only even given me alcohol!"
"Someone want to explain what happened?" Tsunade says in an authoritative tone as she taps her foot.
The conversation stops as they stare at her in anticipated fright before two point to the third person. "He did it!" they say in unison.
Tsunade opens the bottle of sake and lets the cap fall to the floor. She takes a big swig before staring at the person who supposedly brought her here. "I've got questions. Who are you? How did you summon me? And where are we?"
The boy gulps. "Niwa Tatsuya. My quirk is summoning alcohol, and we're in Minato." Tsunade's eyebrows scrunch together as she takes another sip. A much bigger sip. His voice quivers. "Ah, Minato is a special ward of Tokyo."
Tsunade is well-travelled but she has never heard of a town called Minato nor Tokyo. She should just cancel the summoning, but not knowing anything about someone who could summon without a contract, especially people, could be dangerous.
Here she was supposed to be enjoying her second retirement, and a new load of crap appears before her.
"Quirk? Is that what people are calling jutsu now? Or is it more of a bloodline?"
Tsunade doubts Tatsuya is a ninja even if he knows the family's hidden jutsu. His reaction, the way he holds himself, and his absolutely inability to do anything but reply are pretty distinctive signs of being untrained. He eyes his friends then looks back towards her. "You know quirks. Like most people have. I mean bloodline probably isn't wrong in most cases, but there are some outliers. My dad can turn water into various alcohols and my mom can summon feathers. I'd say I got the best one for being able to summon alcohol." His face pales as he bows. "I never said sorry! Sorry! I don't even know how you got here." He looks over to his two friends. "Pst. You apologize too."
"But it's your quirk!"
Forget it. This could be someone else's problems. The three bumbling idiots aren't helpful. She's been reversed summon by Katsuyu before. While Katsuyu had been the one to dispel the summoning it couldn't be that hard. Tsunade circulates her chakra but nothing happens.
She tries again to no avail.
"What do you mean I'm stuck here!" Tsunade yells to herself and kicked the nearest object which happen to be a chair that breaks on impact. The broken shards propels against the wall.
She knew something bad would happen! Before arriving, she won a gambling match. Something always goes wrong when she wins.
It could be worse. Distance she can travel.
"Hey brats! What land are we in? Lightning? Water?"
"Are you crazy, lady?" Tatsuya's timidness vanishes. "I said I'm sorry. You didn't have to smash my chair. Also, I don't know if you're drunk or you've been smoking something but newsflash! Lightning and water aren't land masses."
"Tatsuya," the teen girl whispers not so quietly. "You shouldn't rile up a crazy drunkard when we're trapped in the corner of your room."
Tatsuya's eyes flicker to the broken chair and his face whitens once more.
"I'm out of here." She would find someone else to ask. She opens the bedroom door and walks out to find the entrance.
"You won't tell anyone, right?"
"Sush Tatsuya. She's leaving."
"Yeah but does this count as kidnapping? Cause if so and my mom finds out, I'm going to be grounded forever."
Tsunade finds the front door, but when she opens it she knows something is wrong. She's standing on the third floor of an apartment building. That isn't so odd, but everything else was. Tall shiny blue buildings could be seen not too far away that were easily several times the height of any building she's ever seen. There were chunks of moving metal moving in lines below, and everything is so bright and loud.
Not to mention the people walking about are dressed strangely and look different. Tsunade has seen her fair share of people. She has met people who have just as distinguishable features, but the percentage of people who look different was certainly much higher than she is used to. And that's another thing. There's so many people.
Tsunade doesn't want to deal with this. She can just summon one of her summons and ask them to reverse summon her. She can navigate from there.
She bites her finger, makes a series of hand seals, then slams her palm against the floor.
Her summoning didn't work.
She tries again and still nothing.
Why do things always go wrong?
…..
Tsunade finds out that wherever she is, it's very different from home. The currency is different. Brands are different. Quirks are essentially individualized bloodline limits. Ninja aren't around, though there is someone called the Ninja Hero.
And yes, this place refers to people as heroes or villains.
Booze and gambling still exists so there's at least that.
She walks around the tall, large, and densely populated village taking in everything she can as she determines what she should do.
Tsunade watches a crowd form and goes to check it out, but as she approaches the mob splits in two revealing someone running through.
"Don't worry, I got him!" The person screaming dresses oddly and was still quite far behind. It isn't any of her business, but the guy running through towards her directly and she could really benefit from blowing off some steam so she made an exception.
She draws back her arm and forms a fist then punches the man. The force sends him flying back into the woman chasing him and they both fall into a pile on the ground.
That wasn't as nearly as cathartic as she was hoping.
…..
"That's it?"
Tsunade comes across an easy way to make money. Someone witnessed her punching the guy earlier and approached her to fight in an underground battle ring. The man has to be new. Who else would brazenly recruit someone without a background check? As a contestant she couldn't bet, a shame, but she will be given a portion of the profits.
She had been planning on gambling anyway, and run off if she loses, but having some base money wouldn't hurt.
"Yep."
"Put me against someone where I'll have low odds. We're sweeping in cash tonight."
"You sure you want that? You may be strong but some of the guys are veterans at this point."
"Veterans?" Tsunade scoffs before her lips twitch into a predatory smile. "Hardly. At best they're big fish in a small pond. It won't take me more than a finger." There are limited reasons why people would be fighting in such capacity when heroes and villains run rampant. This would be a breeze. "If you don't trust me, we could always wager another bet between us."
"I'll see what I can do."
"See to it that you do."
…..
Money!
Tsunade is ecstatic as she walks into an Izakaya. If Shizune was here, it would just be like old times.
Shizune.
Tsunade is once again reminded that she's trapped. Even when she lost people and escaped Konoha she still had Shizune. Now she really is alone.
"Two sake. And make one hot!" She says to the people running the bar. Tables in the main room filled to the brim.
"You're home late."
"Sorry Dad! I was training for the Sport's Festival. It's right around the corner and I want to show people how cool I am."
They must live on the upper floor. Tsunade briefly looks over as a force of habit but stills. The boy's hair colour reminds her so much of Dan, though, rather than long, it spikes upwards like Nawaki but floofier. Then the stranger had to go ahead and make some stupid ass comment that reminded her of Jiraiya.
Her mood is sullied now. She's going to need a lot more than two bottles.
