Chapter 9: Argonaut and the hearth

Argo wasn't sure where he was running. He wasn't sure where he even was. His steps took him in a direction that only his heart knew. It wasn't long until he made it to the place he'd dropped off Bell. An old and almost abandoned church. His slow steps let his metal clang as he entered. His ragged breath echoed in the hall as he went towards the passage Bell disappeared down before.

'why' Argo thought to himself as he moved down to the basement. 'Why did I do that' He thought again as he made it to the entrance of the cozy basement with a beaten and destroyed look on his face. He wasn't injured, but it was clear his ideals were torn apart as he drew his blade on the reincarnations of his friends. Those he promised not to betray.

It wasn't long until Bell and Hestia noticed their uninvited guest. Bell drew his knife as Argo stepped into the light. His sunken eyes from tears that couldn't flow anymore. His eyes were dull as if they were lifeless.

Hestia's eyes opened wide. She recognized him right away, however it was Bell who spoke first. "A-Argo?" He said putting his knife away as he moved forward to greet his guest.

"Bell… Sorry I-" Argo managed as his vision quickly faded and he began to fall forward before being caught by Bell and Hestia. Their combined strength moving the boy to the couch as they sat on the bed.

"B-Bell… How do you know The Argonaut?" Hestia questioned her child with a soft tone. Her curiosity dwelling within her eyes was clear to Bell.

"I met him in the dungeon… He reminded me I had a bill to pay… Well after he saved me, but Hestia how do you know him?" Bell said beginning with an embarrassed tone before it turned into curiosity wondering how his Goddess knew the boy.

"Huh? You know him too he's in those hero books you read all the time" Hestia said simply. Wondering if Bell knew the person before him was actually his own hero.

Bell had no idea as his eyes went wide. "W-W-WHAT" Bell yelled. His eyes glancing back and forth towards his Goddess and the Argonaut.

"You didn't know" Hetia said with a smug look patting her child on the head. "Then I'll tell you myself" Hestia said soft removing the smugness from her tone and face.

It took about an hour to explain Zeus's antics and splitting his soul. After that she explained his time in the upper world. A place that she'd seen and even spent time with him before. Both enjoying lazing about the Hearth as the fire warmed them.

Before long Bell decided his Goddess wasn't playing a trick on him, and he quickly got a blanket to cover the boy as he rested.

"So what do we do?" Bell questioned his Goddess. He was certain that the man before him look just like himself, however he figured it was a coincidence at best.

"Hmm" The Goddess tapped her finger to her chin as she thought. "I guess we can let him stay here" Bell said calmly. "Although that means" She got all giddy grabbing her child from the back. "You'll have to share my bed tonight at least" She teased and refused to let the boy go even when his face was as red as a tomato.

It wasn't much longer until the two finally went to bed with their guest already passed out on their couch.
