Chapter 10: Loki's Determination

Loki's eyes looked over her children calmly. Even Finn who'd received extensive treatment from the burns of the lightning. He was looking rather down. He didn't stand a chance. Not wanting her little Pallum to fall into darkness she had to speak up.

"That was the Sword of Thunder Finn" She said calmly. "A sword with power from a god. It's honestly a miracle you survived it. Don't hold it against yourself." Loki said softly to Finn as his head raised. A bit less upset as someone butted in.

"So how will we punish him" Riveria questioned simply. She'd been in the front and noticed her Goddesses reaction and declaration.

"Punish…" Loki mumbled. It was a word that wasn't thrown about the Familia much. She had very good children after all.

"We wont" Finn was the one to answer. As captain his word had just as much power as Loki herself. "I… I think we should revoke the ban… He isn't wrong" Finn said. His eyes lighting up more. It wasn't his defeat that weighed on him, but the truth the boy had said. He was right Zeus wasn't a danger nor was Hera. Their Familias were the backbone they all used to grow, and they betrayed them at their weakest.

"Finn!" Tiona said raising her voice. Her eye twitching in rage. She wanted to argue. She wanted to fight Argo herself even if it meant she'd lose. "He can't just get away with this!" Tiona said clenching her hand so hard her nails broke skin.

"Tiona… Enough" Finn said casting his gaze downward. "You're just gonna make me feel worst" He said softly as the Amazonian woman's heart seemed to crack. Quickly enough forcing the Pallum into a tight embrace that he didn't have the energy to escape from. He wouldn't admit it but as weak as he felt her embrace seemed to be the only thing he actually felt.

"I understand…" Loki said softly. "When he returns… I'll remove my Falna as well. I can't have someone that dang-" Loki began before a sob cut her off and a tear crashed against her desk.

The others looked in shock. They thought their eyes were deceiving them as they noticed their always proud and unbothered Goddess show a sign of sadness. Even Finn who was in the Familia for fifteen years hadn't seen her act this way more than twice. Both times due to fallen children.

"Bullshit" Bete said stomping towards the door to leave. "I don't care if he stays or not, but it's obvious he isn't weak." The werewolf said looking back. "So I don't mind if the clown stays" Bete said looking back with a smile plastered on his face before leaving.

The rest of the executives were a bit unsure of what to say. It was true that the Argonaut was like a bomb in their home, however even when they'd just met him they felt connected to him somehow, and knew he wouldn't ever hurt them in a clear sate of mind.

"I'd let him stay" A large dwarf began. "That's only after I give him a thrashing for his choice of words though." Gareth stated simply.

Ais gave a nod in response. "When he kicked me… It didn't hurt. It felt more like a push than anything else…" The Sword Princess admitted to the room. Their gazes quickly falling onto Tione who was smiling deep in thought.

The groups stares seemed to wake the young Amazon up from her daze. "Huh? What?" She questioned tilting her head oblivious to what they wanted to hear.

"How hard did Argonaut hit you" Riveria spoke up her gaze stuck on the Amazonian.

"Oh. Not at all. Actually" She said rubbing the back of her head. "He said sorry before he kicked me" The Amazonian admitted with a laugh to the group.

The group gave a confused look around themselves. Normal people wouldn't apologize and then proceed with their choice. The only one left was Riveria. The High Elf was the elephant in the room as she placed her finger against her chin.

"If he comes back. I'll speak with him and then I'll make my decision. I understand his reason, but there's no justifying his threats of war" Riveria said with a stern tone that seemed to silence the whole room…

That was until Bete returned holding a large barrel of Ale and cups for everyone. "Great. Now lets drink you idiots. After all we just had our first loss in a while" Bete said with a smirk placing the barrel on Loki's table. For once the drunkard Goddess didn't want to drink.

Instead she stood leaving the office and heading to her bed. She needed to sleep more than anything else. The others respected that as they all drank in her stead getting plastered as they traded the epics they heard of the Argonaut and The Blind Poet.
