Merry and Pippin were standing together, Pippin looking longingly at Merry's smirking lips. He wanted to kiss him. He started to lean in, but Merry just started giggling. Pippin's face turned red and he turned away. Merry started laughing loudly. "I'll see you around, Merry," Pippin said as he turned to walk away. "Wait, Pip," Merry said, going after Pippin to stop him. "I'm sorry, I can't do this anymore, Merry. If you don't wanna get serious with me, fine. But don't just lead me on like this. Tell me if you don't wanna be with me. Because if you don't, then I can't be around you. It's too painful. I've endured it since we were kids, and I just can't do it anymore." Pippin kissed Merry on the cheek. He started to walk away again, but Merry grabbed him by the shoulders. "Fool of a took," Merry mumbled, kissing him.
