*Omega - Outside residential block C687 - a guard stands idly in front of a door with a huge sign that reads 'PLAGUE ZONE' written in bright red next to it*
*Blastette, Alenkfish, and Barrus huddle around nearby*
EELs (over comms to all 3 of them): "The plague is localized to this one block, though that still includes approximately 120,000 sentient beings. Unusually, this plague is known to cross between all species who've entered the module."
Alenkfish: "Hmm, that seems very odd. A virus or other germ shouldn't be able to jump across this many species."
EELs: "Quite so. The only species unaffected so far are Humans, and Vorcha. Though the humans could just be lucky as there are only 3 of them living in this module. And the Vorcha are just pond life who aren't affected by disease. Regardless, the plague seems artificial in origin"
Blastette: "EELs? Young Electronic Madam, did you keep those virus filters up like this one commanded?"
EELs: (With an obvious frustrated sigh) "What this one meant, Captain, was that it seemed to be created on purpose by some beings who wanted to kill off alot of people."
Blastette: "Oh..." (Embarrassed tone) "This one knew that! This one just meant... never mind!"
Barrus: (Unhappily) "So... we're going into a plague zone then?"
EELs: "Only a medium sized one. And if you have faith in the captain, she'll cure the plague before you all succumb to the virus and die horrifying, agonizing deaths."
Alenkfish: "Wait a second: This one recalls, we had space suits on board the ship. Surely they would prevent us being affected by the virus?"
EELs: "Well... there is no time! This one encourages you to rush into there in order to protect as many lives as possible. Indeed, if necessary, the Captain alone should go in order to complete the mission."
Barrus and Alenkfish exchange a brief look but Blastette interrupts with surprising speed: "No-no, we all must go. This one is good, great, fantastic even. But it knows it can not withstand the chaos and violence that will be rampant in there."
Barrus: "So... a plague AND war zone?"
Blastette: "Quite so... you wouldn't want it to be boring, after all?"
Barrus: (After a moments thought and then a shrug) "True."
*Blastette and team approach the guard*
Turian Guard: "Hey folks, I recommend you don't go in. This block is under quarantine due to the mega death virus."
Blastette: "This one is aware, but we require Sullivan Mordin from this block."
Turian Guard: "Ahh... him... Well, if you intend to subject yourself to...well, him, I doubt a little old' plague will stop you."
*The Guard steps aside and the team approach*
Barrus: "So... after you, Blastette"
Blastette: "Oh for Enkindlers sake..."
*Omega - Residential Module C687 - Plague zone, war zone, and 21th most desirable place to live on Omega 3 years in a row*
Turian Blue Suns member: "Aces"
Batarian Blue Suns member: "Go Fish"
*Both are sat on corpse mountains of Vorcha - Blastette and team approach*
Blastette: "Hello there gentlemen on this fine day. Could you help us find someone?"
Batarian BS member: "Well, we could, but that would violate the terms of our Blue Sun's morals. 'Always be pointlessly mean, and/or violent whenever plausible'."
Barrus: "Seems rather restrictive"
Turian BS member: "Big sissy"
Alenkfish: "Well, we are looking for an S. Mordin is all..."
Both Blue Suns: "GAH!"
Alenkfish: "What did this one say?"
Turian BS member: "You'll understand when you meet M...Mo...Mor... him. If you dare, he's that way"
*The Turian points at the door of a medi-clinic... with a locked door... and signs where people have been hammering on the door, trying to escape recently*
*Blastette's team cautiously approach, edging towards the door with guns at the ready. As they close in, sounds can be heard from beyond the door*
*With a bob, Blastette signals the team to breach the door - they enter sharply, charging in, only to be meet by a wall of song*
Blastette: "Dear Enkindlers, this is awful!"
S. Mordin: (In woeful notes of 'music') "...Over the Turian Moooooon, I'll be fertilizing your egggggs..."
Barrus: "Just shoot me, don't let him take me alive! I've got ears!"
Alenkfish: "This one's jelly is dying."
S. Mordin: "Surprising - Visitors!"
*Mordin sticks his head around the corner*
S. Mordin: "No sign of restraints or injuries, fascinating - can't be here for treatment nor punishment, ergo: here to see me. Possibilities: Here to kill me, here to recruit me, or here to offer supposedly good value for money magazine subscriptions. No pamphlets and a lack of weapons at ready, so must be here for me."
Blastette: "Er...hi. We're here to try and recruit you and your... unique skills for an important mission."
S. Mordin: (rolling the word musically, to the grimace's of all around) "Missssssioonnnnn?" (Normal voice) "What mission?"
Barrus: (loudly) "What? I can't hear anything! Is this blood coming out of my ears?"
Alenkfish: "Some unknown group or species has been stealing thousands upon thousands of Earth puppies for reasons unknown. We've been sent to find out why."
S. Mordin: "Puppies? Which breed, exactly?"
Blastette: (slowly) "Labrador Puppies"
S. Mordin: "Intriguing: Virus studies have shown presence of Labrador puppy DNA in small but notable sections. Connection to your mission seems likely. Would be glad to take on the casssseeeeee" (the Hanar both shake in the air at the note on the last word - Barrus is unaffected, and continues to clear out the blood from his ear holes)
Alenkfish: "Ok... can you join us? We have a sound proofed room ready on board..."
S. Mordin: "Can do, once foolish assistant gets cure for plague into the air system..."
*The quiet sound of the air flow from the life support to the residential block turns silent*
S. Mordin: "Hmmm... this could be..."
*The air flow turns back on*
S. Mordin: "Oh...nevermind. I thought there might have been a problem, but no."
Blastette: "Indeed. It could have been annoying to have to go out and slaughter our way to the control room."
S. Mordin: "Do you have to do that alot?"
Blastette: "More than you'd think reasonable."
