This chapter took a while because I haven't found a good time to write it... anyway.
Marinette walked to school, things were going to be interesting today. Alya announced her new "relationship" with Ladybug, so things were bound to change.
The sudden swarm of fellow classmates is what she expected. Everyone had questions and she was willing to answer them in the best way that she could.
"How long have you been dating Ladybug?" One student would ask
"Not too long." Was her answer
"How did you guys meet?" Another student asked.
"She really likes croissants." Was her answer.
She kept this up for a while until a familiar black limo pulled up in front of the school.
Marinette watched as he stepped out and made a beeline towards her. His response to the situation was the one she couldn't anticipate for. Would he be happy? He was smiling, that was a good sign.
"Marinette," he said, putting a hand on her shoulder. "I heard the news. I'm so happy for you. I didn't even know you knew Ladybug that well."
"Oh yeah, Ladybug and I are sooo close to each other." She was proud of herself. Not only was she talking to Adrien but she wasn't stuttering or tripping over her words. Starting a relationship with Ladybug was working.
"It makes sense, you two have so much in common. You're both very kind and courageous. And you're styles are also very complimentary to each other, you both have bluebell eyes, dark blue hair, and you're earrings are pretty similar too. Not to mention you practically know her schedule by heart now."
Wait, he noticed that their schedules were similar? Was he beginning to notice that she disappears during akuma attacks? No, there's no way that he could know this.
But hypothetically... no, there's no way she's right about that. She's just stressed out after everything that's happened. There's no way she should entertain such an outlandish thought.
"I know what you mean, Ladybug is an inspiration."
That was when he rested his other hand on her other shoulder. "I just want you to know that if you ever need someone to support you, I'm always here."
She was safe from thinking of a response when the bell rang and they had to go to class.
Was Adrien... no... there's no way she was right... She had to stop thinking about it.
Marinette couldn't stop thinking about it. She was frantically scribbling in her notebook, not listening to anything that Miss Bustier had to say.
When Adrien mentioned the similarities between her and Ladybug, he talked about it in a different way than most people. He wasn't as inquisitive as anyone else was. He didn't seem to want to know about her personal connections to Ladybug. Which gave her a terrible thought and she hoped that she could prove herself wrong.
Was Adrien Agreste... the boy she had been crushing on... Monarch?
Now that this chapter is over, I'd like to say that there's a very real possibility that I'll rewrite this fanfiction entirely in the future. As mentioned last chapter, I was pretty depressed for a while and because of that, not only have I forgot everything I wanted to add but my heart isn't in it the same way in the beginning. When I first conceptualized this, it was much funnier than this, even better my adrichat fanfiction. But my adrichat fanfiction is a thousand times funnier than this fic. Hopefully, this is can be improved in the future but I also recommend sticking around for a rewrite.
