Chapter 7: No More Secrets
Danny took a deep breath. "I guess everything started about a year ago. I was pretty much a normal kid, but my parents created their ghost portal. They were obsessed with wanting to prove ghosts exist but the portal didn't work at first, but even though they gave up on it, I thought it would be cool to explore another dimension and… I step inside it." He paused for a second before continuing. "Turns out my parents put the on switch inside the portal and since it was dark, I couldn't see anything, and accidently hit the on switch."
Frankie gasped in realization. "And you got struck by it's energy!" She said allowed.
Danny nodded. "The ectoplasmic energy released from the portal electrocuted my body, passing through it and rearranging my molecules… the pain was unimaginable, and it turned me into what other ghosts call a halfa. I can use the abilities of a ghost in human form, and even transform into a ghost."
To show them, Danny transformed before their eyes. A blue ring appeared around his midsection then split into two, and passed over both his upper and lower half. The transformation amazed the ghouls, even Lagoona still looked on in awe despite having seen it before.
"It all makes sense now!" Frankie said. "The reason you knew about the portal at Fenton Works and how to use all their tech is because… you're their son!"
The other ghouls soon connected the dots as well but then another realization dawned on them. "Wait! But you're parents are ghost hunters!" Clawdeen said. "But you said the ghosts hunters in you're town attack you… even your parents!"
Danny sighed. "Sadly, yes. Every chance they had to catch me, they took it. Wanting to strap me to a table and dissect me."
The ghouls stood in disbelief. None of them could imagine their own parents hunting them down like an animal and trying to cut them open to see what was inside.
"That's horrible…" Draculaura cried. "They had to have known it was you! Unless…"
"Unless I didn't tell them…" Danny finished Draculaura's sentence. "No, I didn't tell them. I was afraid how they would have reacted. They weren't shy about what they thought of ghosts or what they'd do to one if they caught one… I was just too scared."
The ghouls didn't know what to say, they been through some tuff times but nothing like what Danny's been through.
"But at least I can say that isn't the case anymore." He said with a small smile.
"You told them?" Cleo asked.
"After wanting to for so long, I gained the courage to tell them the truth… and they accepted me. They realized how wrong they were and have been trying their best to do better."
The ghouls couldn't help but smile. At least, Danny's parents were trying to make things right.
"And It's thanks to you girls, I had the courage to tell them." He said.
Now that surprised the ghouls. "Us! What did we do?" Draculaura asked, out of curiosity.
"When I met you guys and saw this school for the first time. You were all nice to me, and treated me like a friend. It made me want to tell you guys my secret but like with my parents, the fear got the better of me." He explained. "But the more I hung out with you guys, the more I wanted to overcome that fear and tell you who I really was, and it made me think more about my parents and finally gain the courage to tell them."
Danny took a breath. He had just told them everything, how he became a half human – half ghost hybrid, how he was being hunted by his parents, and the ghouls listen to his story.
"I'm sorry, I didn't tell you guys when we first met… I hope your not angry." He didn't want to look at them, but their silence made him nervous. He looked up to try and get a read on there expression but couldn't tell what they were thinking.
It was at that moment, Draculaura walked up two him and kneeled down until she was at eye level with him before grabbing his hands with hers. "Danny, we're not made a you" She said.
Danny was shocked. As he looked into Draculaura's eyes, he didn't see any hate. "Your not?"
"Of course not!" Clawdeen spoke up. "Well, maybe a little disappoint. After everything we told you when you first arrived here, do you really think we'd despise you just because you're not a full monster?"
Danny let out a dry chuckle. "When you put it like that, no, but I guess living my life with this secret made me cautious."
Frankie was next to speak. "Monster High was built not just for monsters to have a place to call their home, but with the hope that one day we could eventually live amongst humans without fear." She explained. "We don't care if you are human or half monster, Danny. You're are friend."
"And we never turn our backs on our friends." Cleo added.
Draculaura stood up and placed a hand on Danny's shoulder. "They're right, Danny. At this school, you don't half to hide who you are. You'll always be welcome here."
Their words were sincere, and Danny almost broke into tears. He felt stupid, these monsters weren't bad people and they treated him like a person, a friend. But now here he was, seeing clearly that they really are his friends.
Though there was still something that bothered him… it was Lagoona. She didn't say anything, and he noticed that every time he looked in her general direction, she looked away. He knew what was bothering her, she likely didn't take to kindly to him kissing her but kept quite to not make a scene in front of her friends, but he knew she was going to confront him about it.
"And that also goes for you two as well." Draculaura said, pointing at Tucker and Jazz.
Tucker smiled. "Sweet!"
Jazz was also smiling. "That's fantastic! Ever since Danny told me about you guys, I wanted to know what it's like being monster and about Monster High as a whole!"
Draculaura jumped in excitement. "Oh! I'd be happy to show you around and answer whatever questions you have!" She replied.
"Don't forget, madam president. We still got to be ready for the talent show." Clawdeen remained her.
"I'm surprised, you guys are still having the talent show despite everything that just happened." Danny said.
"We thought it be best to do it to take everyone's mind off the whole mind control thing." Clawdeen explained, though her mood dropped a bit. "Too bad, Ari won't be able to preform…"
The mention of the ghost girl caused the other ghouls moods to drop as well.
"What happened to, Ari? Is she ok?" Danny asked.
"She's ok." Frankie began. "But, she and Ember fought, and while Ari only got a couple bruises, she didn't seem herself and after Lagoona found us, Ari passed out once we got to the school."
"Where is she now?" He asked.
Frankie pointed over to a closed door at the end of the room. "She's in the room next door resting, and the nurse said she'll let us know when she wakes up."
Danny was relieved. The last thing he wanted was someone getting badly hurt or worse because of something one of his enemies did.
"Well, we should probably get going." Draculaura gestured towards the door. "Don't want to waste the rest of the day. Tucker, you're coming with me and Jazz."
"Of course! No way am I going to pass up an opportunity to see what this place has to offer."
Draculaura, Tucker, and Jazz left the room, but not before the later two made sure Danny was ok, and if he wanted to come with them but he declined, since he had already seen the school.
"I'm going to head to the creepateria to grab a bite to eat." Clawdeen said. "Anyone want to come?"
"I do." Cleo answered. "All this hero work, has worked up an appetite… oh I know, let's celebrate with some ice cream!"
"Ice cream sounds good." Frankie said. "But me and Lagoona have some final preparation for our talent show project."
"I'll pass." Danny said. "I'm going to go for a flight and fresh air in a few."
Clawdeen nodded. "Alright then, let's go Cleo."
The two ghouls left the room, leaving Frankie, Lagoona, and Danny.
Frankie turned to Lagoona. "We should get going too." She said.
Lagoona rubbed the back if her head. "Oh, right um. I'll might you outside, there's uh… something I need to do first.
Frankie looked confused, Lagoona hasn't been acting herself since they got back to the school. Frankie noticed she was quite and seemed worried about something. "Well… ok, just meet me when your ready.'' She said, walking out of the room.
When Lagoona didn't leave the room, Danny came to the conclusion that "something she needed to do" was talk to him about what happened on the roof. It didn't help that she was looking at him with uncertainty in her eyes. 'We'll Fenton, it had to happen eventually.'
"Danny, can we… talk about what happened on the roof?" She asked.
"I… uh… sure, I guess." He stuttered.
Lagoona walked over to his bedside and sat down next to him. Both teens didn't look at each other, and uncomfortable silence filled the room as neither knew what to say first.
Lagoona ended up speaking first. "The ghouls told me what happened before they left. That, I was under Ember's spell and I attacked everyone… I'm sorry."
Danny was quick to respond. "You don't half to apologize for that, Lagoona. It wasn't your fault."
Hearing Danny reassure her that everything was fine made Lagoona feel just a bit better and even got her smile.
"They also told me that you stayed behind to watch over me." She continued. "Which I guess lead to what happened on the roof?"
Danny blushed. "Yeah… I decided to stay behind and watch over you but seeing you like made me worry, so, I thought about how I could break the spell without hurting you, and then I remembered when I was under Ember's spell before."
"Really? What happened?" She asked.
"Well, the spell made me fall madly in love with my other friend, Sam. And the only way for her to break the spell was to kiss another guy in front of me and you could guess that it was enough of a shock to snap me out."
Lagoona felt bad for Danny as she listened to his explanation. Sure, he was under a spell, but it must have been hard seeing someone you like kiss another person.
"I guess that if, I kissed you… it might have been enough of a shock to snap you our of the spell…. Even if you'd hate me afterwards." He explained.
'Oh it was definitely a shock.' Lagoona thought to herself. It was then, a smile formed on her face. 'He risked me hating him just to make sure, I was ok.'
"I don't hate you, mate." Lagoona said.
Danny turned and looked at her. "You don't?" He questioned.
She gave him a genuine smile. "Of course not. I'll admit, It was definitely a shock, but you had good reason and did it to help me… and…"
Danny's brow raised in confusion, as he waited for Lagoona to finish what she was about to say. "And?"
Lagoona blushed. "And, it… it felt nice… kissing you."
Danny's face turned crimson red, and he began to stutter. "I… uh… that's good… I mean! Uh what I meant to say was… uh."
Lagoona couldn't help but giggle at his attempt to speak. Luckily for him, the sound of a message came through her I Coffin.
Checking the message, she saw it was Frankie. "Whoops, I guess I better get going. Frankie needs me…" As she got up and made her way to the door, Lagoona turned back to Danny. "See you at the show Danny, and… thanks again."
Danny manage to get his thoughts straight to respond. "I'll see you there."
He gave a wave as she left the room. "Smooth, Fenton." He said sarcastically. But Danny couldn't shack the smile on his face. Everything seemed to be working out and he couldn't be more happy.
Taking a moment, he turned intangible, then flew up through the ceiling and our of the roof of the school. Looking into the sky, he saw it was about mid-day, and down on the ground, he saw everybody getting ready for the show.
"Better get a relaxing flight in while I can." He said.
As he took off, someone he knew all to well, appeared on the roof of the school. Vlad Plasmius had dropped his invisibility and also had a grin on his face.
He found it amusing that, Danny was so distracted that he didn't notice Vlad was watching him this entire time. "So young Daniel has feelings for the young Lagoona? I can use this. But I have other matters to attend to."
With a laugh, he turned intangible and phased into the school. He landed in the nurses office and phased through the wall and into the room, Ari was in.
His gaze hardened as he examined the ghost girl. She wasn't injured like she was after her battle with Ember, and she appeared to be resting but on closer inspection, he noticed she was shaking a bit and letting out little grunts. It looked like she was having a nightmare.
Vlad placed his hand on Ari's forehead, and he slowly started absorbing her energy… or so it would appear. When he was done, Vlad looked over the energy in his hand and smiled.
"It seems the energy I gave, you, worked wonders…"
Vlad noticed Ari starting to stir awake and dissipated the energy in hand.
As she opened her eyes, Ari shot up when she saw, Vlad standing by her bedside. "Professor! Your ok!"
"Of course, why wouldn't I be?"
"Oh, a ghost named Ember attacked the school and took over everyone's mind, and I thought you were captured as well but couldn't find you." She explained.
"I see, well, that's because I had some important business to attend to off school grounds but I was hoping to return before your performance yet it seems I've missed quite the event. Though I should be asking if you're ok?"
"I'm fine… at least I think I am…"
Ari wasn't sure how she was doing, those negative feelings she felt during her fight with Ember has seemingly vanished but it still left an impression.
"Well that's good to hear, and I must say I'm very impressed. From what I heard from the others, you did an amazing job fighting Ember."
Hearing Vlad's praise made her smile. "I can't take all the credit, without the other ghouls, and Danny Phantom, I doubt I'd have done it."
"Of course, still, I wish is was there to see it." He replied. "But right now you need your rest.
Ari frowned "Which means I can preform with the others today?" She asked.
"Sadly, yes."
Vlad started to make his way out of the room but was stopped when, Ari started talking again. "Professor."
Vlad turn around to face her and noticed the unsure look on her face.
"Do you think you could help me train with my powers more?" She asked.
Vlad smiled. "I'd be glad too."
Ari smiled again. "Thank you, Professor."
When Vlad left the room, a more sinister grin stretched across his face before he teleported away.
Vlad's Mansion
Vlad reappeared inside his secret lab underneath his new home, and waiting for him were three of vulture ghosts.
"I see you've got the last of what I need."
"Yup, here you go boss." One replied. "This one took longer to find."
It handed over another one of the Fenton's gadgets, the Boo-merang. "Perfect" Vlad replied. "And the students I asked for?"
The vultures gestured over to three unconscious students slumped against the wall. The first Silvi Timberwolf, a werewolf with gray fur over her body, and she had long purple hair tied into ponytail and a bang with a blue strand off too the side of her face. She wore a dress that had pink and blue design, and had black heels.
Vlad already had werewolf DNA that Skulker acquired for him but he needed live test subjects for better experiments, and to his knowledge, this girl had yet to make many friends, with the exception of one, and it just so happened that monster was beside her. Woolee was her name, a large purple-skinned yeti girl with white fur covering most of her body, and short multi colored hair and two large black and white striped horns on her head.
The third monster next the them was one of the Zomboys that follow that Moanica girl, and while he didn't expect to gain much from a zombie, Vlad didn't want to leave no stone unturned. Just thinking of the girl Moanica gave Vlad an idea, she had a mean streak from what he's seen and heard, and he could definitely use an ambitious girl like her.
"I don't get boss, what's the big plan?" one of the vulture's asked, snapping Vlad from his thoughts.
The other two wanted to know the same. Ever since they arrived in New Salem, Vlad hasn't told them what his plan was, just "go here and do this".
"Since you haven't messed anything up, I suppose I'll tell." Vlad placed the gadget on a table next to the Specter Deflector. "The monsters at this school all have special abilities, some more beneficial then others. When I found out about their existence, I saw it as an opportunity to further my own power by extracting the genetic code."
The vultures gave him a questioning look. "But your already pretty strong boss, why would you need more power?"
"Correct." Vlad replied. "I am powerful, but not unbeatable, and the fact of the matter is, a part of me is still human. Having the various powers of these monsters would give me something more than what I have now… but that's not all."
Vlad reached in the pocket of his suit and pulled out the Monster Mapalogue. "I snagged this from little Draculaura."
"What's that?"
"It's called the Monster Mapalogue. I've researched it extensively once I heard about it and it allows one to locate a monster anywhere around the world using a unique type of energy." Vlad explained.
"So you plan on using that to find monsters to capture?" one vulture asked.
"No." Vlad said bluntly. "I'd need to know the monster's name and a few other details to accurately find them and why would I need to do that when I have a school full of monsters for my experiments? No, I plan on using the unique energy from the Monster Mapalogue and integrate it into the Specter Deflector technology in order to create a barrier around this lab that will keep out any and all unwanted intruders who might come looking for their friends."
"And the boomerang thing?" The vulture asked.
"I'll expand on that device's unique function to hone in on specific energy signatures so I and those I chose can come and go from the lab without issue." He explained.
"Okay, but why not just take over the school? Why the whole game of charades?"
"Because it's easier to manipulate them that way and avoids any unnecessary attention." He stated.
"Like the ghost boy."
Vlad twitched. He knew they were referring to Danny and it took all his control not to snap. It didn't help that he showed up prematurely to aid the monster's against Ember but none the less, everything still played out the way he wanted.
"Yes…" Vlad sneered. "The ghost boy, Danny Phantom. But luckily I have several other plans to deal with him when the time is right, and one that will keep me out of suspicion but for now, I've work to do so leave!"
The rage in his voice was evident, so the trio of vultures darted through the walls of the lab as fast as possible. Leaving Vlad alone in silence. The adult halfa didn't know why he even bothered explaining his plan to his underlings. And at the mention of Danny interfering with his plans triggered a slight rage, one that he was suppressing the entire time he was observing the entire Ember situation.
Flashback
Vlad watched from above as students and faculty of Monster High funneled outside to surround the stage as Ember played her song. All while invisible, he made his way to the top of the main building which contained Draculaura's room, which it remained even after this place became a school.
Looking around, he spotted what he was looking for right away, the Monster Mapalogue. It was just laying on the dresser, most likely forgotten when she was caught by Ember's mind control.
Picking up the object, Vlad phased through the wall and left the room. It was then he had to stop abruptly, as he nearly bumped into Ari, who was floating in the air. She didn't notice him, and seemed to be observing the crowd below as if looking for someone.
Eventually she flew into the castle. Not wanting her to ruin his plan in anyway, Vlad followed her, and eventually found himself at his own classroom. It was clear to him now that Ari was likely looking for him, but he didn't want to reveal himself as he still had other things to do.
He watched as she pulled out her phone, wondering who she was calling, the thought didn't last long as the name "Danny" left her mouth. This made him worry, he didn't want his cover blown but this presented an opportunity. He would leave Ember for Danny to handle and regardless of who won, it wouldn't matter.
It took over several minutes, Vlad was beginning to grow impatient and decided to wait outside for Danny to arrive. Luckily, he didn't half to wait much longer as he spotted the Fenton Jet arrive and land in the tree line near the school.
Getting closer, he observed as Danny exited the vehicle along with his friend, Tucker, and his sister, Jazz. Vlad wanted to just destroy him now, unintentionally moving closer as the group seemed to be waiting. It was only when Danny's ghost sense trigger, did Vlad realize he got too close. But luckily for everyone, Ari had appeared, making Danny think it was her that triggered his ghost sense.
Vlad moved away, but remained close enough to hear there plan. As the group split up, Vlad perused Danny and Jazz, following the two siblings, and even getting a laugh from Danny being flipped by Draculaura. Multiple times though, Vlad had to fight the urge to attack Danny, and once Danny had took off to fight Ember, he found an opportunity.
When Danny floated up to the ceiling and prepared to capture Ember in the thermos, Vlad quickly phased through the ceiling and positioned himself directly above Danny. With one quick strike, he punched through the floor with his intangible fist and struck Danny in the back, sending the boy down onto the desk below.
It made Vlad feel good seeing Danny's plan ruined by his hand, and while he should be looking for more potential students, Vlad found himself watching the battle between Danny and Ember, and up until Ember left the group to deal with their mind controlled friends.
It was at that moment, Vlad made the decision to follow Ari and the others as they went after Ember, instead of messing with Danny. He didn't want to risk anything he didn't need to and this was also his chance to see the capabilities of the others.
When the group finally reached Ember in the underground section of the power station, Vlad watched everything ensue, and was impressed by Ari's battle against Ember. However, he saw she wasn't likely going to last much longer so decided to take matters into his own hands.
'Let's see what you can do with this, child.' He thought as he floated behind his student and poured his energy into her body.
The effects were everything Vlad had hoped for and more. Ari became more powerful and ferocious in the fight, and matched Ember blow for blow. Sadly the girl's body didn't seem to stand up well to Vlad's energy, as he heard her words on how she felt when the rush of energy hit her.
In the end, Vlad wished he could have saw more but it didn't matter. Ember was caught, so his plan was to return to his home and see if the vultures got everything he asked for but it was then he noticed Ari had passed out as the group was headed back to Monster High to check on Danny, so he decided to keep watch until he got the chance to look over her himself.
Flashback End
Monster High
While everything was seemingly back to normal, Draculaura was busy showing Jazz and Tucker around the school seeing as they didn't get a chance to see it properly.
"I still can't believe how similar this place is compared to a normal school" Tucker said.
Draculaura was surprised to hear this, given they haven't been to any human school. But the thought made her visible excited because it meant that monsters and humans weren't so different.
The vampire girl wasn't the only one, who was excited. Jazz was following close behind with pen and paper. She was writing down everything Draculaura had told them, and didn't shy from asking the girl various questions.
"So what's school life like in a monster school?" Jazz asked. "With so many different monsters, it must be a great experience."
"It's fangtastic!" Draculaura answered joyfully. "You can't imagine how good it felt to finally be around other monsters after spending nearly sixteen hundred years in an old house with just my dad and a pet spider Weby to talk too."
"Sixteen hundred years!" Both Tucker and Jazz shouted in unison.
Draculaura jumped at their sudden outburst. "Well I am a vampire." She responded. "We age really slow."
"You don't drink blood… do you?" Tucker asked worryingly.
Draculaura tensed up and made a face like she was going it be sick. "Of course not! I can't stand even the thought of… blood." She struggled just to say the word.
Jazz raised a brow in confusion. "So what do you drink if not… well you know." She didn't want to say "blood" seeing as how the girl reacted.
Draculaura regained her composure. "Oh that's simple, tomato juice." She answered.
Tucker realized where she was leading to and had to ask. "Doesn't that make you a…"
"Yup, I'm a vegan vampire." She answered.
Tucker really didn't want to deal with another vegetarian telling him it's wrong to eat meat. He had enough of that with Sam, though honestly, the vegan/vegetarian thing seemed to be the only thing those two have in common. Draculaura seemed happy and excited most of the time and like the color pink, which was practically the opposite of Sam's goth style.
The three continued their tour through the school, and it surprised them by how friendly the monsters were here. Sure, they got the occasional stare and cautious look but they also got lots of waves and hellos. Unlike Casper High, this place felt welcoming, that is until they came across a student Draculaura knew.
"Well it looks like the word around school is true, we've go Normies running around." Spoke sassy feline voice.
Draculaura let out a sigh before turning her head to face the monster, knowing who it was already. Her eyes feel upon Toralei Stripe,
Toralei was werecat girl known throughout the school as a bit of a trouble maker. She had green eyes, a long tail, claws, pointy ears, her tan fur with a patch if orange over her left eye, and she had short brown hair with black strips. Her outfit consisted a short-cut black long-sleeve black jacket over a red shirt with black strips, with a gold belt and silver buckle, and black plants with multiple cuts that reveal a pair of red leggings underneath. She also had red fingerless gloves, and red and black heels.
"Oh, hey Toralei…" Draculaura greeted, half heartedly. Though her tone changed a bit when she noticed the two other monsters behind her. "Uh, who are they?" she pointed.
"These are my new ghoulpals, Meowlody and Purrsephone." Toralei introduced the two ghouls. "Their twins if you couldn't tell."
True enough, Meowlody and Purrsephone were twins, and werecats just like Toralei. They both had yellow eyes, a tail, pointed ears, claws, and both had gray fur with a white strip going down their face. Luckily, the twins had differences in their appearance to tell them apart.
Meowlody had long white hair with black stripes along one long strand. She wore a sleeveless black jacket over a black shirt with white strips, an orange skirt, with a single pink glove on her left hand, and black and pink heels. She also had white stripes along her right arm and left leg.
Purrsephone had long black hair with black stripes along one long strand of white. She wore a sleeveless orange jacket over a white shirt with black stripes, a pink skirt, with a single orange glove on her right hand, and black and pink heels. She also had white stripes along her left arm and right leg.
"Well, it's good to meet you both." Draculaura greeted.
However, the twins didn't speak, looking at her uninterested and only letting out a little cat noises.
Toralei saw the confused expression on the trio's faces. "They don't talk much." Toralei spoke.
"Ok…" Draculaura turned her attention back to Toralei. "So what was it you wanted, Toralei?"
"I just wanted to see if what they were saying around school and it looks like it's true. Your letting Normies in the school." She responded.
Draculaura frowned. "First of all, I'm showing them the school because they've never been here before, second, Monster High is open to everyone, Monsters and Normies, and thirdly, if it wasn't for them, we'd be mindless slaves."
Hearing Draculaura defend them, made Tucker and Jazz smile. Though Toralei didn't seemed moved by it.
"Look, I'm just saying, this place is fine as it is, and we don't need any Normies causing any mischief (because that's my job)" She explained with that last part being kept to herself.
Without another word, Toralei and the twins walked away. Leaving an irritated Draculaura.
The vampire girl turned to Tucker said Jazz. "I'm sorry about Toralei, she's a bit of a trouble maker. I hope she didn't offend you guys."
They both smiled. "Don't worry about." Tucker assured her. "I've had more friendly interactions here then my entire time at our school."
"Yeah, and people like that don't bother me anyway." Jazz added.
Their words seemed to do the trick as Draculaura's normal happy personality returned.
Monster High (Talent Show)
Everyone was gathered outside the school near the large stage, waiting for the show to start. Danny had returned from his flight and rejoined with Tucker and Jazz, who were hanging around Draculaura, Clawdeen, and Cleo.
Danny got a few looks from some of the students, likely due to his now know half human, half monster status but nothing came of it other than just a few whispers. Surprisingly most still were happy to be around him.
The group along with everyone else began to watch the various acts, each different from the last. And when it came time for Frankie and Lagoona's act, the crowd was bubbling in excitement when they saw the large contraption covered in a tarp being rolled onto the stage.
Frankie and Lagoona pulled of the tarp to reveal a massive skate rap, fitted with large rings, that spontaneously set on fire when Frankie sent an electric charge through them.
"Wow!" Tucker gasped. "They build that!"
"Most likely it was Frankie who did the building." Clawdeen corrected. "Because we know, Lagoona's going to skate across it with her skateboard."
And skate she did, after climbing to the top, Lagoona put on her helmet and began performing various tricks Danny and the other's could only stare in awe at. Danny new he was acrobat thanks to his powers, but was impressed the way Lagoona tricked through the rings of fire with ease.
Near the end of the performance, Lagoona used her super speed to and appeared as beautiful blue blur darting across before coming to a halt at the bottom and giving a bow alongside Frankie. The crowd was still in shock before bursting into an applause and cheers.
"That was incredible!" Tucker said. His amazement turned to confusion when he noticed, Danny wasn't next to him anymore. "Hey… where'd Danny go?"
This got the attention of the others, who shrugged in confusion as well. There attention was caught when the headmaster Dracula walked on to the stage as Frankie and Lagoona were making their way off.
"It seems we have a last minute entry!" He said, causing everyone wonder who it was. "A short act from Monster High's own Abby Bominable, and the hero, Danny Phantom!"
This caught everyone by surprise, and got them wondering what the act was.
Behind the curtain, Danny was ready to step out with his partner, Abby, who he had learned was the daughter of the abominable snowman. She had blue skin, light purple eyes with purple lipstick and purple eyebrows, she had long white hair with blue and purple streaks, all held back by her white fur headband. Her wardrobe consisted of a purple dress shirt with a white fur scarf, a black belt around her waist, short leggings, and long white fur boots.
What astounded Danny the most about the girl was the ever present snowflakes that continuously floated around her.
"You ready?" He asked.
Abby held a confident smile. "Of course." She replied.
The two stepped out on stage and moved to opposite ends. Both teens then started generating a cold blue aura and without hesitation, fired a blue beam of energy from their hands at the center of the stage.
A light chill went across the crowd but everyone was so fixated on what was happening on stage they didn't notice. When the ice beams died down, everyone gasped at would stood before them.
"It's fangtasic!" Draculaura squealed in excitement.
Everyone could only node in agreement as they stood in awe at the massive ice construct that was a small replica of Monster High, with ice figures of the Ghoul Squad. Danny and Abby each created a large snow ball and threw it into the air. As they came into contact, they burst into a beautiful blue wave that released a mass of falling snowflakes.
The two teens took a bow, and were met with a thunders applause and cheers.
A few minutes later
Danny and Abby were sitting at the front steps of the school along with the members of the Ghoul Squad, Tucker, and Jazz.
"You guys, that was incredible!" Tucker said. "But when did you sign up?"
"I actually saw Abby making ice sculptures on my way back from flying, and decided to say high." Danny explained. "Abby told me that Skulker mentioned my name when she used her ice against him so she wanted to see what I could do."
"After a quick practice, we decided to enter the talent show and show off our creativity." Abby continued. "I'd say we make a pretty cold team."
"You mean cool team." Danny corrected.
"No, I meant cold." Abby stated, making Danny confused at her blunt tone.
Danny's confusion made the ghouls laugh, which got everyone to laugh as well. Sadly though, Jazz pointed out it was time for Team Phantom to head home, and the ghouls were saddened by this but knew they'd see them again.
As thanks for saving the school, Draculaura gave Jazz her old I Coffin, and told her to call whenever, knowing the older Fenton sibling wanted to know more about monster life and would be happy to talk about it. Clawdeen gave Tucker her old I Coffin, as a gift and an apology for crushing his PDA with her teeth when she was being mind controlled.
Both groups said their goodbyes but not before Frankie marveled at the Fenton Jet. With their last farewells said, the jet took off, fading in the distance.
As the jet vanished, Vlad Plasmius dropped his invisibility and floated down. A triumphant smirk on his face as he watched his arch enemy leave non the wiser.
"There you are…"
Vlad jumped in surprise at the voice behind him, which he discovered it was from Harriet.
"I didn't see you at the show." She said.
"Oh… uh… well I'm not one for crowds but I did watch from afar." He explained.
Harriet could tell something was off given how he stumbled a bit on his words at first but she wasn't the time to pry… unless it involved her kids.
"Well, now that everything's cleaned up, I was wondering if you want to see the art hall I mentioned when we first met?" She asked.
It took Vlad a moment to respond. He wanted to quickly return to his lab and begin his experiment on the three students, but something pegged at the back of his mind, telling him to go with her.
"Sure, I'd love to." He agreed.
"Great." She replied happily. "Oh, I don't know if you've heard, there is going to be a new faculty member joining the school."
Vlad wasn't too worried upon hearing this, though a new staff member could complicate things if they are around the students he plans on taking.
"Since the whole Skulker incident and now this one with that Ember ghost, Dracula thought it would be a good idea to bring in a councilor to help make sure the kids are doing ok and keep their spirits up." Harriet explained. "I think her name was Penelope Spectra…"
Vlad suddenly froze when he heard the name, causing Harriet to look back.
"Are you ok?" She worryingly asked.
"Uh, yes I'm fine." He lied.
Vlad knew who Spectra was, and she would definitely be a problem. He had to be careful how he did things even more now while trying to figure out how he's going to get rid of her.
Monster High (Draculaura's Room)
It was beginning to reach nightfall and the Ghoul Squad were having a ghouls night in Draculaura's room.
"I don't know about you ghouls but today was exciting." Draculaura said.
"Exciting and exhausting…" Cleo yawned, stretched out over Draculaura's bed.
The others playfully rolled their eyes, Cleo was always the first one to fall asleep at ghouls night no matter how hard she tried.
"It's still unbelievable how much Danny's been through." Frankie said.
They all agreed, and were happy that he told them the truth.
"Well at least he isn't alone." Draculaura said. "He's got his family, friends, and now us."
At the mention of Danny's friends, Cleo's mind went specifically back to Tucker, and how he looked exactly like King Dullaman. But Dullaman disappeared about four thousand years ago, and Tucker's human… or at least that's what he says. Could he be in hiding?
"Ghouls…" Cleo called out, getting their attention. "I think I know of another monster in hiding…"
"Wait, really!?" Draculaura raised a brow. "Who are they?"
"Well… I think it's Danny's friend, Tucker." She answered.
The other ghouls all paused for a second before laughing. This caused Cleo to get a little irritated, and pouted.
"No offense Cleo, Tucker might be different from a typical Normie, especially around ghouls like us." Clawdeen said. "But I wouldn't say he's a monster."
The others agreed, Tucker was the type to flirt with almost any girl but he was a decent guy and meant no harm.
"I'm serious ghouls!" Cleo said, pulling out her I Coffin. "This is King Dullaman from thousands of years ago… look familiar?"
When they all looked at the image on her phone, they couldn't help but agree that the resemblance was unnatural.
"But still, it could just be a coincidence, mate." Lagoona. "He or Danny would have mentioned it, seeing how everything went today. I doubt Tucker would keep that a secret."
"I know, it's just… when I saw him, it felt like I was in the presence of the Dullaman." Cleo admitted.
"Even so, I still haven't found the Monster Mapalogue, so we can't see if it's true or not." Draculaura said. "But let's get some more information before anything else, we can try the library tomorrow."
They all seemed to agree with the idea, and Cleo seemed satisfied.
Amity Park (Fenton Works)
Back at Danny's home, the ghost boy had just returned from the Ghost Zone through the portal, where Jazz was waiting for him.
Danny sighed. "Well, Ember wasn't in the mood to talk about how she learned about Monster High."
"That figures." Jazz said. "I guess there isn't much we can do about it now. We should probably just head to bed."
"I guess you're right…" Danny said, closing the portal. "Hey, Jazz?"
"What's up?"
"What would you think… about me attending Monster High?" He asked hesitantly.
"I'd say go for it." She said with a smile on her face.
Danny was surprised at her answer. "Wait, really!?"
"Danny, besides when everything was serious, I saw a smile on your face the entire time we were there, and seeing how much you care about them makes it obvious you like it there. And who could blame you. Mostly everyone there is kind and outright accepted you, and you can be yourself unlike at Casper High."
"Yeah, but what about Sam and Tucker?" He asked.
Jazz walked over and tussled Danny's hair. "Danny, their your friends, and no matter where you are, that won't change. They'd understand, and if you want to go to a place that is good for you, then do it."
"You'd like to go there to wouldn't you?" He asked with a knowing smirk.
"Of course!" She admitted. "Learning that ghosts were real was an eye opener, and now monsters, I'd be a fool not to take that opportunity."
"Then I think it's time we talk to mom and dad about it when they get back." He said. "I hope they take the existence of other monsters well."
"Well half to wait and see." Jazz replied.
The two siblings, made their way out of the lab and to their rooms. Knowing things were going to change soon.
End of Chapter.
Author Note: And I'm back, sorry for the long hiatus. I was sick throughout the entirety of January and early February. Work started back up and some important family stuff has been going on and needed taking care of so I just haven't had the time to write. But here is a longer chapter that I hope you enjoy, Danny's secret is out, Vlad was creeping throughout the event and his plans are in motion, Tucker will have future interactions and so will Sam. This pretty much marks the end of the first act and as you can see with Meowlody and Purrsephone, I'll be adding Gen 1 characters along with story elements from the Gen 1 movies so if you like those, I hope you find future chapters enjoyable. Hope you guys enjoyed, please R&R, see you next chapter.
Reviews:
Major Simi: Yup, the secrets out.
qazse: Sounds about right, I tried to make the scene at least somewhat dramatic but I'm not sure if it hit.
Luiz4200: The secret had to come out eventually. Sorry for the slow update, hopefully this chapter is good.
The Brod Road: Draculaura using that trick in the future would be , it was Vlad, creeping around the school. As for Tucker, I do plan on him wising up and developing, and yeah, Vlad was responsible for Ari's negative emotions. I tried my best with the secret reveal, I didn't know the best way to right it so I hope it's at least interesting, and yeah, Danny's talk with Lagoona was an odd one.
simm36: He was going to half to explain eventually. Yeah, I'm trying, but that cold knocked me out for the 10 count all through January and into February.
Guest 1: Thanks for the review, I hope you enjoy this chapter.
sanid096: I try to give all the characters time to shine, though I'm not good with handling lots of characters.
Unknown phantom: Glad you like it.
Guest 2: Yes, I plan on adding some Gen 1 characters and I do think I can introduce ghoulia yelps.
Guest 3: Sorry for the long wait, hope you enjoy.
minathemonster: Yeah, I try to keep the characters recognizable enough. I know some of the characters differ a bit from Gen 1 to Gen 2 but I'm trying to balance it.
Guest 4: I've heard of Ever After High but never watched it. I don't know if I'll make a story/crossover with it though.
Guest 5: 1, yes I'm alive. Just been sick.
