Chapter 23: The First Battle

"Well, I'm glad to see you all transformed now!" Razzle grinned in happiness. The lizard then collapsed onto the floor in exhaustion. "All that running around and waiting has made me quite thirsty!"

Toby let out a giggle. "Here, have some water," he offered. He raised his hand above the lizard and his hand produced a medium-sized stream of water from his palm. Razzle used his lizard tongue to receive the stream flowing down where some of it when into his mouth straight away.

"Ahh, thanks Toby," Razzle answered.

"So, what do we do now?" asked Jessica, shrugging her shoulders.

Nick went over to the edge of where they were standing. He could see some red dotted Gormiti heading towards where they are right now. From what he could tell, they were definitely Lava Gormiti.

"We fight," he answered with a serious tone in his voice.

Lucas raised a concerned eyebrow. "What? Against them now?" he trembled in confusion. "Are you insane, Nick?"

Nick turned back towards the others, his stone shoulders shrugging down in the process. "I might be insane but not stupid," he started to said. "I know for a fact that we have an important job to do. We are no longer kids, we are Lords of Nature and…" He paused for a second to look at his hands. "I think it might give us the opportunity to practice our new powers,"

Toby's face went brighter than the sky. "That's what I'm talking about, little bro!" he hollered. "So, what are we waiting for?"

Nick knew exactly what Toby meant. So did Lucas and Jessica when they both nodded their heads at the brothers. They were saving Gorm. Together.

The four lords all jumped from the entrance of the Earth Temple and immediately the fight began.

Once everyone landed onto the ground, Razzle jumped up onto Jessica's shoulder for protection which she didn't mind. She was the one doing the flying business in the first place. Using her wings as a guide, she flew above the fire Gormiti to see if she could use her powers to attack. After spotting some, she immediately thrusted her arms out in front of her. White, feather like darts came shooting out from her palms, hitting the Fire Gormiti one by one. Jessica then created a gentle but powerful wind blast the made most of them fly up into the air then went back down like a huge weight.

Jessica looked at her hands in astonishment. She wondered what else she could do with her powers.

Meanwhile, the boys were doing the best that they could. Thanks to their now-muscled arms, they were pushing and shoving out one Fire Soldier at a time. Nick especially was impressed by how much stronger he became. He decided to try something different with his new abilities such as creating a strong earthquake.

"Jess! Can you grab Lucas and Toby for a second?" he called out to Jessica.

"Sure. May I ask why?" she answered back, almost shouting.

Nick gave her a grin. "Stand back, it's going to be a big one,"

Jessica spun her hands in a circular motion to create a swirling tornado. It lifted Toby and Lucas up once again but they didn't swirl or spin like the tornado was doing.

Realising that both boys were safe in Jessica's tornado, Nick raised up his fist. He concentrated on all of his energy as he thought about how hard the impact would be once he slammed it. He needed to make sure it started at the exact spot that he wanted it to be. Finally, with a singular breath, Nick swung his fist and slammed it into the ground.

In an instant, cracks began to appear within the ground that Nick just pounded. Within the cracks was a yellow glow that shone from them. Some of the Lava Soldiers began to ran away to avoid falling into one of the cracks but the cracks kept growing bigger. Eventually, most of them fell down into the cracks back into the Lava territory or somewhere else.

Toby was in awe at his brother's abilities. Nick had just made a strong but powerful earthquake. Toby nudged Lucas in the arm. "Shall we?" he encouraged towards Lucas.

Lucas nodded in agreement with Toby.

"Please be careful of the cracks!" warned Razzle, waving his arms.

"Relax!" Toby proclaimed. "We'll make sure we won't step on them,"

"I hope so!" Nick answered back, firing rocks from his arm towards more Lava Soldiers.

Toby jumped out from Jessica's tornado and eyed a couple of lava soldiers that were heading towards his little brother. He also noticed a bit of the ocean right around the edge of the area that the group were at now. Using his sea powers, he raised his hand towards the ocean. Soon, the waves began to rise a tiny bit and flooded away the fire Gormiti while leaving Nick unharmed.

Nick stood in surprise at Toby's ocean surrounding him. The foamy edge tickled his feet a tiny bit but he can see the crystal, aquamarine waters rising up to the foam. As well as Toby's reflection.

"Lucas! Grab Nick quickly!" exclaimed Toby, using his tentacles to get himself to safety across a ledge. Jessica landed softly beside him while Razzle hopped off her shoulder.

"Already on it!" Lucas called back. Turning one of his bark hands into vines, he swept Nick off the ground by wrapping the vines around Nick's body. However, due to Nick being an Earth Gormiti now, it became much heavier than Lucas thought.

"Umm…I could use a little help!" Lucas uttered in exhaustion.

Jessica flew over to where Lucas was struggling to lift Nick up. "Hold on!" she cried out. "I've got an idea!"

She flew down to where Nick was, her pink wings fluttering at the same time. She once again spun her arms but was doing a gentler motion this time. Jessica then outstretched her arms and a gentle wind began to lift Nick up from where he was standing. The wind brushed against her as well but she was focusing on getting Nick to safety.

Once Nick was back onto the ledge, everyone looked down at the Fire Gormiti. The damage that the group created for the evil Gormiti was already done. Toby commanded the ocean to return to where it lived and he army of Fire Gormiti left in panic once he had finished his task.

"Well, I have to say a job well done!" congratulated Razzle. "You surely taught them a lesson!"

Nick turned himself towards a devilish volcano with a scary face carved into it. "We're not finished yet," he concluded. "We have a volcano to storm soon."
