The next few weeks had passed and none of the Lupin family had seen or heard from Harry at all. He was so angry that he was even avoiding the Burrow just in case they were there.
It was the night before George and Angelina's wedding. The whole family was at the Burrow getting things ready for the big day, which was going to be a Halloween wedding.
"This is so George, to have a wedding on Halloween of all days." Ginny laughed as she, Minerva, and Hermione carved pumpkins.
"Yes, only George." Hermione smiled.
Audrey came running into the kitchen, she was smiling from ear to ear. "Hey girls."
"Hey." Minerva responded. "Why are you about to burst with joy?"
She looked away from her. "I just love weddings so much; they make me this happy."
"Okay, that is such a lie." Ginny walked over and sat by her.
"Ginny is right. So, what is it?" Minerva also went over to Audrey.
"Girls leave her be, maybe she does not want to tell us." Hermione continued working.
"Yes, Hermione is right. I cannot tell you guys yet. Percy does not even know." She stood up and walked out of the kitchen.
Ginny looked at Minerva. "She is with child." Ginny smiled.
"That has to be it." Minerva nodded in agreeance.
"Would you two stop with all this and get over here to help me finish. I would like to get this done so I can get some sleep for tomorrow." Hermione demanded.
They laughed and went back to what they were assigned to do.
"Ginny how has Harry been?" Hermione broke the silence.
"He has been fine." She answered as she shook her head at Hermione.
"What?" Hermione looked at her.
She rolled her eyes. "I just do not think now is the time to bring up Harry."
"Why?" She looked at Ginny who looked at Minerva.
"Ginny it is fine." Minerva looked up at the girls. "Harry is a big part of both of your lives, there is no way to avoid the conversation."
Hermione nodded. "Exactly. With that said, Minerva have you reached out to him?"
Ginny shot Hermione a look.
Minerva shook her head as she finished her last pumpkin. "No, and I am not making the first move."
"He is big headed, and he will not, maybe you should try." Hermione began to clear up the mess.
Minerva shook her head and grabbed her cloak. "I am not going to do that. Good evening girls, I will see you all in the morning." She left the Burrow.
"You really need to stop this." Ginny looked at Hermione.
"Why? Someone needs to try to get them to work this out." Hermione went up to her room with Ron.
Minerva walked for a few moments; she took in the beautiful fall evening. Then she disaparated home to the cottage, where she and Charlie were still living with their son.
She quietly walked into the kitchen when she heard Nymphadora and Andromeda talking in the living room. She listened in without them knowing she was there.
"He is still doing it mom." Nymphadora sighed.
"Love, he always will. You should know this better than anyone." Andromeda replied.
"I just thought that after Teddy was born that he would have changed his priorities." Nymphadora sounded upset.
"Nymphadora, she has been his daughter since she was two months old. They were all each other had for years. You cannot expect that to change over night." Andromeda touched her daughter's hand.
"I know that, and I have nothing but love for her. Minerva is as much my daughter as she is Lily's, but it still hurts. I mean she is Remus' top priority even as a grown woman."
Andromeda nodded. "She always will be, nothing will change that."
"I thought that a real family would change that. I thought that him having his own son would change that…"
Minerva heard enough; she quietly went to her room where Charlie had just got their infant son down for the night.
"Minerva, you look like you have just seen a ghost." He patted the bed beside him.
She looked at him, she was so lost. "We need to move out, get our own place."
"Wait, what? Just yesterday you said that we needed to be here to help your parents out." Charlie took her hand and sat her on the bed.
"Things have changed, dad and Dora are better now. They do not need me here." She looked at Charlie.
He was taking back that she had just called her Dora and not mom. "Minerva, what just happened? You never call her by her name?"
Her trance was broken. "What?"
"You just called your mother Dora; you never do that." He stated.
"That is her name, and that is what I am to call her from now on. Lily is my mother, and I need to accept that." She walked over to the window in her room.
He was so confused as to what changed in her in the last few hours. "Love, are you going to be okay?"
She nodded but said nothing.
"I can let mom know that I cannot be there tonight. If you need me here, she will understand." He touched her hand.
"No, go they need help with the set up." She kissed him.
He nodded and kissed her back as he left. He turned to look at her one last time before he left the cottage to go help his family set up for George's wedding.
The morning came quickly for the family. Minerva got Remus ready early and left before the others were awake. Charlie stayed at the Burrow so that he was up and ready to help.
He was sitting in front of the Burrow, drinking a coffee and reading the Daily Prophet. He seen Minerva appear up the hill, he was not expecting her this early.
"Morning." She smiled at him and kissed his cheek.
"Morning love, why are you here so early?" Charlie stood up and walked into the kitchen with her.
She shrugged. "I couldn't sleep. Big day today."
He looked at her, he knew that she was off, but he could not figure out why.
The rest of the morning and afternoon the family were all over the place getting the tent set up for the wedding. The colors orange and black, were fitting for a Halloween wedding.
The guests started to arrive. Remus, Nymphadora, Andromeda and Teddy were the first to arrive. Charlie approached them as they entered the tent.
"Remus, do you know what is up with Minerva?" He asked quickly.
"What do you mean?" Remus grew concerned.
Nymphadora was behind them listening in, while her mother sat down with Teddy.
"Last night when she got in, she told me that we needed to move. It was literally out of nowhere. She even called Nymphadora by her name and not mom."
"That is odd, she has not called her that in years." He was confused.
Nymphadora put two and two together. "No, she heard." She said to herself.
"I will talk to her after the wedding." Remus joined his family in their seats.
Minerva had just got Remus down for his nap when she came out to join the others.
The scene that she walked out to was nothing like she had even seen before at a wedding. The tent they had was black, and there were floating pumpkins that lined the walkway into the tent. When you walked in the chairs were black with orange sashes draped over the back. The isle was orange with speckles of black in it. In the air were more floating pumpkins.
As she walked in to take her seat, she could not help but smile. This wedding was so George and Angelina it was chilling. She took her seat in the front row beside Charlie and the rest of the Weasley's.
Light music could soon be heard as George walked down the isle with his mother and father. Molly was sobbing, like she always did when one of her children got married. Behind them was Angelina's mother with Bill, she was also a sobbing mess. Ginny and Angelina's two little sisters came down the isle wearing bright orange dresses. Minerva chuckled a bit when she seen the look on Ginny's face, she clearly hated the dress that she was made to wear.
After they were all seated the music got louder, and everyone stood up. The tent door opened gracefully, and there stood his bride. She was wearing a knee length black dress, with big puffy lace shoulders. Minerva smiled at her, she looked stunning and this dress only Angelina could pull off. As she walked down the isle Minerva saw George try not to cry, but he soon did. The tears were streaming down his face by the time she got to him.
Mr. Johnson handed his daughter's hand to George. "Thank you for being amazing to her." He smiled at him.
George smiled back and took her hand. "You look amazing."
"You clean up super well" She looked at his tie. "Is that?" Tears filled her eyes.
He nodded. "Yes, this is Fred's lucky tie."
They both turned and face the short stumpy man who married all the other Weasley's thus far. "You may all be seated."
Minerva looked around; she caught the eye of Nymphadora who was a tear-stained mess. When she seen that she saw her looking at her, she quickly turned her head back to the bride and groom.
Nymphadora sighed, she knew in that moment that Minerva overheard what she said to her mother last night.
"Then by the power of the Ministry I pronounce you bonded for life." The man pointed his wand in the air, orange sparks shot out of it and intertwined themselves around the bride and grooms' hands.
The guests stood up and applaud the newly wedded couple, as George dips his bride and kissed her deeply. With that the whole tent rearranged itself and was now set for dinning and dancing.
Minerva headed to the Burrow to check on the baby. Remus followed her in, as did Nymphadora.
"Minerva, is everything okay?" He asked her worried.
She nodded. "It is fine."
He walked over in front of her. "No you are not, I can tell."
She seen Nymphadora standing beside him. "Ask her." She said coldly.
Remus looked at his wife. "What does she mean?"
She took a deep breath in. "Minerva, I am so sorry that you heard that. I was just venting to my mom. I love you and you know that right?"
"I am not your real family, not the family that you want. Right?" She said with an angry tone.
"That is not what I meant." Nymphadora tried to take her hand, but she pulled away.
"Yes, it is." She stormed out of the Burrow and disaparated into the darkness.
Remus looked at his wife. "What did she hear? What is going on?"
"Love, I may have been venting to mom about how you always put her above anything else. I also said that when you had a real family of your own how I thought it would have changed everything." Nymphadora was so upset that Minerva overheard this.
"Why would you say those things? I thought you loved her. You adopted her." He was so confused.
"Remus I do love her, and I would do anything to protect her." She took his hands. "Minerva is an adult now, and I think that you need to focus more of yourself with Teddy and I"
"I did not know that you felt this way." He hugged her. "I am so sorry."
Outside Harry seen Minerva run off into the darkness. He hoped that maybe she was going to where he was about to go. Maybe things were not lost for them.
