The Next Week.
"It's almost 24 hours, I have to head over to Tegan and Nyssa's soon."
Graham walks up to her with her overnight bag at her feet. "Are you sure you are ok with going over there and me not going to a hotel?"
"I am fine, besides they will make sure that I wake up early enough and there is no chance of me being late for my wedding. I mean our."
"Remember I have a surprise that only one person knows about."
"I can't wait," she leans to kiss their eyes close for their last kiss before they are married. A horn blares telling Ace she better leave before the clock strikes 1.
"Goodbye Graham, see you tomorrow."
"Bye Ace, can't wait." He watches her walk away waving to Tegan and Nyssa as the three of them drive away.
"So Ace."
"Yes Tegan?"
"Are you excited for tomorrow?" She smiles with all of her teeth, "I can tell that is a yes."
"Of course it is a yes. Do you two have any idea what he has planned?"
"No."
"Ok." They eventually arrive at Tegan and Nyssa's to see Yaz standing at the door.
"I was wondering if it would be ok if the women of the wedding party spend the night together."
"What about Neeka?"
''She said she will get to the wedding on time, just can't make it tonight." Ace looks at Yaz to see she is disappointed that Neeka isn't in town yet. She promises herself that she will talk to Yaz at one point in the night.
"Of course you can stay." The four of them walk in the door. "Why don't you put on a movie Ace?"
"Will do. Yaz want to help me for a second?"
"Sure." They walk to the spare bedroom.
"Is everything ok Yaz?"
"I feel like I am falling for Neeka."
"And that makes you feel like you are betraying the Doctor."
"Yes."
"Yaz, I can promise you that she would want you to move on and be happy. She would probably have a ball knowing that it is with the daughter of someone well some people that they traveled with years ago."
"You think?"
"I know. When she helped save me from Glitz last year, when we had some one-on-one time she was happy that Graham and I were together."
"I didn't know you were in love with them."
"We were just good friends, the best friends. Similar to you and Graham."
"Graham is sometimes more of a grandfather."
"Exactly," she tweeks Yaz's nose.
"What was that for?"
"Something my Doctor would always do, when we traveled together."
"Thank you."
"Anytime, I was serious when I told you a year ago today you could talk to me about anything."
"Thank you."
"Call Neeka, I am going to leave you alone." Ace walks out of the room and goes to the couch.
"Where did Yaz go?"
"I told her to call Neeka."
"Why? Is everything ok?" Nyssa starts to worry about her daughter.
"Everything is ok. Yaz just needed some advice."
"Can I know more please," Nyssa asks with wide eyes.
"Sorry, Nys, but what Yaz and I talked about will stay in between us unless she tells Neeka."
"Is she going to break up with her?"
"No, she won't, I can tell you that much."
"You sure?"
"Yes, I am."
"I have a feeling," Tegan starts to talk, "that Yaz just needed some advice that it is ok to move on to love someone else," she wraps her arms around Nyssa who hugs her back. A few minutes later Yaz walks out of the room with a big smile on her face.
"Thank you Ace."
"Anytime, now let's start this movie. It was hard to find an action movie, so I picked a cheesy chick flick."
"Oi, they are not cheesy."
"Just pulling your leg Nys." They order in and watch movies until Ace decides to go to bed.
"Next time you see us Ace, it will be your wedding day."
"I know." Ace crawls into bed and falls asleep with a smile on her face.
The Next Morning.
"Good morning Tegan, good morning Nyssa," Yaz says as she enters the kitchen with Nyssa wearing a small reddish purple robe with frills around the neck, and Tegan wearing a long white one.
"Morning Yaz, we heard you on the phone all night."
"I was talking to Neeka."
"Good." Nyssa says as she hands Yaz a cup.
"I know last night was weird when I disappeared for a while into the room Ace is sleeping in. I didn't know if the Doctor was ok with me moving on. Ace helped me realize not for the first time that she would be happy to see me move on."
"I am glad that everything is better now."
"It is," Yaz is thinking when she can tell Neeka that she is falling for her.
"I have an idea," Tegan wanting to change the subject, "Nyssa and I will change real quick then the three of us can go wake up Ace." A few minutes later three people burst into Ace's room and jump on her bed.
"IT'S YOUR WEDDING DAY."
"Ahh why would you wake someone up like that?" A groggy Ace asks as she sits up.
Tegan starts to laugh, "You know what they say about payback."
"Ace did the same to you when we got married?" Nyssa asks her wife.
"Yes, she did more than one jump."
"I knew that you would be happy for the rest of your life that is why I did it, now can I wake up."
"Of course, we must let the bride wake up fully."
"Thank you." They leave the bedroom and Ace falls against her pillows again, "I am getting married today."
"Hello Ace."
"Hello Professor."
"You are getting married today."
"I know, and I couldn't be happier."
"I am glad to hear that Ace has finally found her pair."
"That was a stupid pun, Professor, but not your worst."
"I know, I just wanted to let you know that I am happy for the two of you. Graham will treat you well."
"I know, and I promise to treat him well too."
"I know you will. You Ace, has one of the biggest hearts that I know. That is how I knew you would've been a better Time Lady than most out there."
"Thank you Professor." She then gets up and joins the others in the kitchen.
"Are you looking forward to today?"
"I am."
A few hours later as guests arrive everyone is in their areas getting ready. "Is there anyone you wish would be here today?"
"Maybe one, but we have a chair just for them to be here in spirit."
"Why can't they be here?"
"Timelines could get messed up."
"Oh."
"Graham said the chair would be on my side, since I had a closer relationship with the Doctor and for a longer amount of time."
"When did you leave yours?"
"I was in my late 20s."
"So at least 10 years."
"Yeah. You three look fantastic in your dresses."
"Thank you now, Ms Bride, it is your turn." Tegan gets out the dress that has been altered to fit Ace like a glove. After the dress is on she puts on a pair of earrings that she hasn't worn in years. "Ace, are you ready for something borrowed?"
"Yes." Both Tegan and Nyssa pull out a necklace.
"Nyssa wore this for our wedding, now you are going to wear it." Tegan puts it on. "Now let's get you married." While Graham is standing at the altar, Ryan walks Tegan down and Dan walks down Nyssa and Yaz. After everyone is in their places, Ace starts to walk down to meet Graham whose mouths wow as he starts to tear up. They connect eyes and smile when Ace arrives at the end of the hallway.
"Hello."
"Hello." They grab each other's hands.
"We are gathered here today to welcome in the hands of wholly matrimony Graham Nelson O'Brien and Dorothy Gale McShane." Graham and Ace just keep looking into each other's eyes smiling bright. "I have heard that they have prepared their own vows."
"Ace, the moment I was almost hit by that bat, I was memorized. I never knew I could be lucky with love again. Here I am though. You helped open up my heart again. I can never thank you enough for it." He clears his throat, "You make me happy and I will strive to make you smile and laugh for the rest of our lives."
"Graham, I have always had the worst luck on finding partners, either they couldn't understand me or in one case ended up a very distant relative and turned evil," she shudders thinking about that cold day in the 1940s. "I am the lucky one to marry you today." She puts a finger on his lips to stop him. "You have never been afraid of my making Nitro-999 in fact when we first met you embraced it. I love you more than I can understand. You helped me get through a few things that no one knew about. I thank you for that. You said about your heart growing for me. Well, my heart has grown for you, Ryan and Grace."
"Now can I have the rings," Tegan and Ryan give the rings. "Graham repeat after me. I thee Graham Nelson O'Brien."

"I now pronounce you man and wife, you may now kiss the bride." Graham takes Ace by the back of the neck and kisses her and the room erupts in clapping and cheers with a couple of whistles. "For the first time I announce Mr. and Mrs. Graham O'Brien, he wanted to do something special, but he was talked out of it at the last minute. He also wanted to add a hyphen to make him Graham McShane-O'Brien." Ace looks at him shocked to hear that.
"Surprise?"
"You didn't have to do that."
"I know."
"Thank you."
"No need to thank me." Ace grabs his hand again and they walk out followed by their wedding party.
"Can I now ask everyone but the brother of the bride to leave and head to where you guys usually meet. Mr. McShane, your sister wants you to be in pictures with the wedding party."
Liam heads out to see his sister hugging her bridal party, "I heard you wanted me for some pictures."
Ace walks up to her brother, and brings him into a hug, "Of course I did. You are my brother after all."
"Thank you, for including me," he stuffs his hands in his pocket, graying hair that used to be a dark brown going into his eyes.
"Now come on, let's get these pictures taken." They get pictures taken in many different groups and before heading off to the reception they notice a gift on a chair that was for the Doctor.
Tegan stands up and taps her glass, "As the matron of honor I am to make a speech."Now I can tell loads of embarrassing stories I have of Ace since we met some 15 years ago?"
"Closer to 20."
"But I am going to tell you guys how it was when I first knew that there would be something between them. I had just got on the TARDIS, and saw how these two were laughing about blowing up Daleks. While Yaz was piloting it, Kate, Ace, Graham and I home while Graham was trying to focus on Yaz he kept looking at us. Well Ace. We got off the TARDIS and he at that moment asked for her number. When I came back here with Nyssa the two of us talked about how when we went out how those two were already together for those not so secret smiles they were sending each other. When we walked in that door they were fast asleep on the couch when we got to the room we were staying in that night K9 told us to be quiet. After Nyssa and I moved to London we were staying at Ace's yet again and devised a way for them to admit they love each other. Love that was found in a volcano. So to end this love came from the strangest place."
"May I speak as the bride's brother?" Liam asks everyone to give him the go ahead. "I first met my sister in 1997, though from what I understand she probably wasn't as old as me then. We talked when she warmed up to me. When we met again last December, she had this guy holding her hand. He was letting her be herself. Since that December day my sister and I have been talking a lot and I have even gotten to know Graham and I have got to say he is a great guy. Thank you for making my sister happy." After the rest of the speeches are made cake cut and shoved in the others face the first dance starts to the song '(Everything I Do) I Do It for You'
