~Previously on Naruto~
Three sound ninjas easily dodges the small fireballs circled around her. " You got good reflexes. I'm surprised you were able to hear us. It took us a while but we found you." a bandage boy chuckled.
"What do you want? We don't have a scroll so take your friends and leave!"
"Wake up Sasuke. We want to fight him." one of them said.
(They're from the Hidden Sound) she shivered trying to stay calm.
"Why? You've done enough with Orochimaru's curse mark Sasuke has been unconscious for days!" Peri snapped.
"Dosu! We didn't know Sasuke had received the curse mark already." the Sound girl said.
(They didn't know?) she said, confused.
…..
"I can smell Peri's scent, but something's wrong. I can't smell Naruto and Sasuke's scent is different. But something's wrong. It's…colder and Akamaru doesn't like it. Looks like they're west of here." Kiba said.
….
"Sasuke..Uchiha…is he here yet?" Gaara finally spoke.
…
"LEAF HURRICANE!"
"Wha? Lee, what are you doing here?" Peri asked.
"I told you I will protect you with my life!" he declared, giving her a thumbs up.
(Lee…)
"Didn't you say that to Sakura? I'm pretty sure I overheard you saying that to her before you came to me." Peri asked.
"W-Well….I mean… I can't leave anybody who needs my help!" Lee stammered.
Nebki looked so unimpressed by the boy.
"Great more brats. I'll deal with this guy, you two will deal with the Senju." Dosu ordered.
"Don't boss us around, you're not Lord Orochimaru." Kin snapped as she attacked the Senju.
In a split second Lee clashed against each other in an intense taijutsu match, but it was clear that Lee had the upper hand as he pushed the sound ninja backwards. Dosu and Kin charged at him. "Take this weakling!" she yelled throwing her senbon needles at him
"Keep going Lee!" Peri encouraged and threw a small smoke bomb ast the sound ninjas. The bomb exploded, releasing smoke everywhere
"LEAF HURRICANE!" he yelled kicking Zaku sending him knocking through the trees
She tried to dodge but she was ruthlessly swept off her feet and roughly against a tree, slamming her arm, knocking her to the ground.
"What's wrong Princess? Not so tough now huh, pathetic." Kin mocked.
"Peri!" Lee called worried.
"I would focus on yourself if I were you." Dosu laughed blasting high pitched sound waves into his ear.
The taijustu user screamed in pain grabbing his bleeding ears. "Not so tough now huh? With this jutsu I can control the sound frequency to strengthen my attacks. I can even make the highest frequency to paralyze and even affect the nervous system in the body, nice jutsu eh?" Dosu chuckled.
Lee fell to the ground trying to gain his bearing as he stumbled backwards, the light-brown haired Senju grabbed him, pulling him to safety.
(From what I can tell they all use sound based ninjutsu, which means they're going to be targeting our ears. Fire Style isn't going to work. It just takes too much chakra while fighting. So that means-) she analyzed the situation
"It's over!" Dosu declared throwing two kunai at them with deadly precision
"Genjutsu: Flower Petal Escape!" Peri whispers softly so nobody could hear.
As the two kunai nailed their mark, only for the bodies to dissolve into pink flower petals into nothingness. "Wha-What's going on?" he called as the flowers wrapped themselves around his body tightly. He tried to get away but he couldn't move after,he looked at his teammates but they couldn't move either. They were also paralyzed trapped in flower petals.
"Hey! What is this?!" Zaku and Kin cried, but both voices were muffled by petals.
From the trees at the same distance team ten, ten eight, and team guy were
"Hey what's going on? Why are those sound ninja just standing there" Ino asked
"They're under the princess' genjutsu." Neji answered
"What do you mean?" Kiba asked
"Genjutsu is a little different from ninjutsu because the effects aren't exactly real meaning you won't get knocked off your feet like a wind, fire, water, or earth style, but it does still affect the target by taking control and of the target's cerebral nervous system, basically the five sense: sight, hearing, taste, and touch. A genjutsu user can use this ability to make their target believe they're standing on land while in real life they're falling off a cliff." the Hyuga explained.
"It can be hard to break if you can't sense it, but it's rare to see genjutsu since not many shinobi use it. Ninjutsu is more preferred. Luckily Neji was able to release it ." Tenten noted.
(But still..that's a pretty strong genjutsu ability Peri has. Those sound ninjas have been caught in it for at least seven minutes. She can become a real threat in battle if she hones this skill, that is if she even knows about it. Looks like I'll need to keep an eye on her as well.) Neji analyzed.
-Forest of Death-
Kakashi was speeding through the forest faster than he had ever had before.
Orochimaru was in the forest.
Orochimaru attacked his students and the evil sannin was still looking for them.
He was terrified.
At first Kakshi felt confident the Naruto, Sasuke, and Peri would be okay to take the exams, yes the three of them tend to go at, especially Naruto and Sasuke with Peri's hotheadedness often breaking it up, but they posses amazing teamwork when it's needed the most. It was for that very reason he nominated them to participate.
Flashback
"I'm begging you Kakashi please reconsider, those kids used to be my students. I know them personally and I'm telling you they're not ready!" Iruka pleaded.
"Then have some faith in them, Iruka. I know what I'm doing." Kakashi tried to reassure him.
"How! Your team is the one I'm most concerned about!" the brown haired sensei snapped.
"I must agree with Iruka, at least regarding if the Nine tails is noticed other villages might try to take him along with the Uchiha's Sharingan. As for the Senju, to be honest, Princess Peri's skills are a far cry from her ancestors. I truly believe we could get just her political power to create an alliance with another village through marriage." Koharu.
"It's truly disgraceful. The girl's a failure." Danzo agreed.
"WRONG! None of my students are failures or your pawns!" Kakashi yelled, slamming his fist against the table. Everyone looked at him shocked.
The copy ninja was normally calm and laid back. He hardly ever raised his voice or got into an argument believing it was a drag, but he would not tolerate anybody saying such things about his students.
"Naruto is not the Nine-Tailed Fox, he is a shinobi of this village. He has a long way to go as a ninja, but he's on the right path, Naruto is not your glorified weapon!"
"I will be hokage someday!" Naruto yelled.
"As of right now Sasuke is the strongest in the group. However he still has a long way to go. It will take time for him since right now he can get a little arrogant from time to time, however I have seen his progress and I can tell his maturing. That ego is going away and he cares for his friends."
"Let's move, Naruto! Peri!" Sasuke yelled, grabbing a large shuriken from his bag.
"Peri is behind Naruto and Sasuke right now, but she's not a failure far from a disgrace. But she's more than a princess, she's a shinobi. Peri keeps both Naruto and Sasuke balanced and the strategist in the team that brings them all together! There's no doubt that she will surpass her ancestor, even her grandfather, the first hokage."
"We can do this as long as we work together!" Peri cheered as the three of them charged into battle.
Kakashi headed out the door with a new vigor. "Out of all the students I had they are the only ones who have passed my bell test. And not just anybody can pass my test." he said before leaving.
The hokage turned to Iruka. " I know you care for your former students, so does Kakashi, he wouldn't put them in danger. But he is right. Peri, Sasuke, and Naruto are shinobi and in the eyes of the law, a genin is a legal adult." he explained
Then he turned to the elders. "I've told you three things once and I will tell you three one last time. Arranged marriages are out of the question. Besides, the Senju Clan never believed in arranged marriages, and I will not force your sick visions upon her so stop discussing this! It will never happen.''Hiruzen growled angrily.
Kakashi was walking through the hallway with his pockets. Naruto. Sasuke. Peri. I believe in all three of you, now prove all of them wrong.
Flashback End
(I wish I felt as confident as I did back then.) he thought sadly.
"Oi, Kakashi!" Pakkun called. He was a small, brown pug dog with a dark brown snout and ears. He has pink-coloured paws and wears the standard blue vest outfit that rest of Kakashi's ninken wears and a blue Leaf headband worn on top of his head and a bandage wrapped around his right leg.
"Have you found them!" he asked
"Yeah, their Naruto's and Sasuke's scents are weakened. It seems like they're out of it or low on chakra, Peri's scents are a little stronger, but I can smell other scents with them, three of them are foreign." the pug reported.
"We need to pick up the pace!" Kakashi said sending chakra to his legs moving much faster.
(Hang on you three, I'm on the way.)
-Forest of Death: Peri and Lee-
Kin gasped falling to the ground as she felt another slash to her side. The flower petals kept twirling around them as the three of them kept getting slashed by invisible blades.
(Wait is this..) she thought. Using all of her strength to form a hand sign.
"Release!"
The flower petals and the dark mist surrounding them disappeared, giving her enough time to kick the Senju away from her. "Genjutsu huh? Gotta admit that was pretty good, for a runt like you. But you're not the only one who can use it." Kin smirked.
Lee tried to help but Dosu stopped him first. "Resonating Echo Drill!" he yelled, releasing multiple sound waves from his resonating echo speaker from his arm.
"I had enough of you so it's time to end this." he chuckled darkly. A powerful sound wave blasted in Lee's ear amplifying the sound so greatly his ears began to bleed.
"AHHHHHHH!" Lee cried trying to block the sound, but it was too great he could barely move.
"No Lee!" Peri ran to help, but was brutally kicked by Zaku and slammed harshly against the tree. Her headband fell off next to her.
Nebki launched himself at the boy's face, attacking mercilessly only to be knocked full force by Zaku's sound waves sending him crashing to the ground.
"Now to finish the job!" the bandaged covered sound ninja said as his team ran to attack her.
Flashback
Ten year old Peri and Sasuke were standing next to each other with the rest of their classmates. Iruka was outside with his class holding his clipboard discussing today's lesson. "Alright class, today we're going to practice the shuriken jutsu. Now I want you guys to partner up with one person and head over to one of the training targets-"
"Hey Sasuke, you want to partner up? I want to compare my shuriken jutsu with yours." Peri asked.
"Hn."
"Thanks!"
"Now, I'll be observing to see where you are and it will be graded." Iruka instructed.
Sasuke watched the light brown haired Senju walk over to the teacher with a few other students grabbing the small bag of shuriken from their instructor. The peace was broken when every single girl in class immediately ran over to him like a stampede.
"Sasuke, do you want to be my partner!" Ino asked with a huge blush on her face.
"No way! Partner up with me Sasuke!"
"No me!"
"As if!"
"Sasuke, let's work today!"
"Be with me Sasuke!"
"Like that would ever happen, Sasuke, come with me!"
They two friends let out annoyed sighs.
Fangirls. Every. Single. Day.
(It's the same stupid thing everyday.) the Uchiha sighed, annoyed. "Peri is already my partner so leave me alone."
Just as he spoke Peri returned with a bag of shuriken sweatdrop a little. (Don't they know that he doesn't want to be bothered with them?)
"Back off, he's mine!" Sakura screamed, shoving her.
An anime tick mark appeared on the Senju's forehead as she stood up glaring at her.
"Grr- WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!" Peri screamed in anger, shoving her back.
Sakura felt tears falls as she hit the ground hard
"Because you are in the way! You go around saying,'Oh Sasuke and I are best friends! And we're always together!' It's so annoying, I will never understand why he would want to be friends with somebody like you!"
"The only annoying ones here are you!" Peri raised her fist.
Just then, Naruto came over with a huge grin until he saw Sasuke. Honestly she saw sparks fly between the Uzuamaki and the Uchiha before they turned away from each other then the blonde boy looked at the light brown-haired girl.
"Peri, do you want to team up with me? You don't need to be with that guy." Naruto glared at the black-haired boy.
Before she could answer, Sasuke grabbed her hand and led her away from the chaos.
"Ignore them morons, come on." he said, taking her hand as they walked over to a target.
"Don't let them get to you." Sasuke whispered.
Peri blushed, glancing at the way he held her hand.
"Thanks Sasuke."
Flashback End
Peri opened her eyes and saw Ino, Shikamaru, Kiba, Hinata, Choji, Sakura, Shino, Tenten, and Neji were standing in front of her, blocking the path of the three sound ninjas. "W-What are you guys doing here?" she asked, confused.
"I smelled your scents and it looks like Sasuke needs a little help. So much for 'Rookie of the Year' title it should have been me." Kiba said smugly.
"DON'T MAKE FUN OF SASUKE YOU IDIOT!" Ino snapped.
"Only reason I'm here is that the last thing I'm gonna do is let you show up for Sasuke. I know you really feel about him!" Sakura snorted annoyingly.
"This isn't the time for your stupid acts! These guys are really strong here!" Peri yelled.
This girl was really talking about that when all of their lives were endangered?!
Ino was okay sometimes, as long as she wasn't near Sasuke or her rival Sakura.
But Sakura was a menace and a bully, she did whatever she could to get on the Senju's nerves and flirted with Sasuke endlessly more than anyone else in the entire academy. The pink-haired girl declared them rivals long ago for Sasuke's heart since she saw her as a bigger threat than Ino.
And maybe Peri had a little teensy crush on Sasuke, but she was NOT a fangirl. She knew more than anyone that her childhood friend could get ahead of himself and needed to be knocked down a peg.
That's when she comes in and he always reel her back when her outlandish ideas get a little too far. That's just how their friendship worked.
"Sasuke was the only one who could decide who he wants, neither you nor I can make that decision for him.. The only thing I want…is for the pain in his heart to heal and to be happy. That's truly all I want." Peri confessed softly, looking back at her childhood.
(The last time I truly saw Sasuke smile was before the civil war and the massacre that happened shortly after. He's always been there to help me, and now it's my turn to help him!) the Senju said to herself.
"Enough with this nonsense, move out of the way!" Kin yelled.
"Shikamaru I think I have a plan, so listen." Peri whispered to the Nara
"You came to help the Princess of the Leaf? You're all wasting our time, we don't have anything against you guys. Move." Dosu ordered.
"No, but you are fighting against our comrade, we will always help our friends." Shino said weaving a hand sign.
Little did anybody know that a dark aura was slowly escaping the curse mark on the Uchiha's neck.
Fun Fact: People call Peri "Princess" or "Princess of the Leaf because the First Hokage is her grandfather. Also, Peri's feelings for Sasuke develop because of their friendship and she wants him to move on from revenge and be happy. Her feelings for Sasuke are similar to Hinata's feelings on Naruto.
Author's Note
The final battle between the genin and the sound ninjas are taking place. Kakashi has his own way but will he make it in time? Or will he be too late? And how will this battle end and can Peri and their friends defeat Zaku, Dosu, and Kin to protect Sasuke and Naruto?
