Lyni closed her eyes against the pain of the old wounds, each one screaming anew. This was why her brothers were allowed to be her guards. Mother Talzin did not want to take the magic away that would cause the wounds Lyni had gotten over her life to actually heal.

None of the brothers needed a doctor, and the healer was called in when the wounds were more serious than this so none of them questioned her continuing on. Besides, Lyni knew all the village healer did. Carefully lowering her loose sleep shirt over the bandages and ointments she had applied, she stood and entered the main area of the apartment.

Knowing the job she joined Feral were he working in the kitchen they were given to cater to the needs of and slowly releasing a breath she focused on the task at hand, the stew and bread she was making for dinner. Her ribs were cracked again, but she's used to it.

Lyni was carefully cutting the vegetables while Feral took the bread out of it's bowl and put it in a pan to bake when the knock came. They looked at each other, it was too early for it to be Thire. Savage and Maul were on the balcony so Feral opened the door and let the two Pandoirans inside.

Churchi stopped when she saw Lyni bent over slightly favoring her ribs and she chopped. Fari jumped forward, "Lyni stop that!" Trying to grab the vegetables and knife, "You should be resting!"

Deftly slipping away from the attempts Lyni put the vegetables in the melted butter, "No need to fret." Turning to the meat searing in the larger pot, "No one ever had a choice in the village."

Feral had put the bread in to cook at this point and stirred the vegetables before putting a hand on his sister's shoulder, "Ly, I can do this. Sit down for a minute." She nodded and let him push the closet chair from the table behind her knees as she sat.

Looking down at her hands she did not see Fari's jaw working slightly, the only outside sign the other women were thinking furiously. They had not expected to come back from their last meeting to find Lyni out of bed where they had left her hours before. Given her brother's protectiveness, it was reasonable to think that it would be long before standing long was allowed.

Instead of fretting like she so wanted to do, Fari made some tea for Lyni and Riyo. Lyni gave a faint smile as a thank you before Fari turned to Feral, "What can I do to help?"

Lyni opened her mouth to protest that she could cook with Feral but Savage spoke from the living room, "Drink your tea little one." Bending her head obediently as she listened to Savage continue, "Miss Fari you and the Senator are guests." He was leaning against the wall looking out the window scanning for threats, "We are to ensure your comfort."

There was a slight bitter edge to his voice at the end and Lyni knew why. That was the training as to how to treat the Nightsisters talking. Fari startled them by answering, "I'm also your friend, and friends help each other." Turning back to Feral who was trying to cut a lemon for the iced tea in the fridge, "That's not how you do that." She took it from him and did it herself, showing him the way her Aunt taught her.

Glancing over at Savage Lyni noticed the slight smile in his eyes when looking at Fari as she guided Feral though making another kind of tea. If she hadn't been raised by him she wouldn't have seen it or known the fondness behind it. Hoping to add more chances to push the pair together so that her brother would have good experiences with a female for once she spoke to Churchi, "I hope the invitation for lunch is not rotted."

The other Senator blinked, the only outward sign that the sudden change of subject startled her, before answering, "Of course not." Adding with a self conscious smile, "Maybe we should just get together in my apartment."

Lyni laughed before putting her arm protectively over her ribs, "Yeah, that might be best." Then they started discussing when that would be in the next few days, as well as how the Anti-Slavery Bill was coming along.
