Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Drop into Hell. Enjoy the 6300-Word chapter. I don't own Halo, 343, and a few others do.

Sereno didn't know if it was days or weeks since they had been sent to Earth through a dozen different channels. The increased security only served to remind them what was going on since the last time and she would keep dealing for now at the end of the day.

Each little problem seemed only to make it more and more annoying for now when push came to shove and it would not die yet or later on now.

Something about it seemed only to bug him for now, not entirely ready to believe it as their pelican slowly approached Cairo station.

"Home sweet home, eh, James?" Garth started to which he sighed as he clicked his tongue against the roof.

"Knock it off, James. We all lost family in the war." Sereno stated before he looked downwards at the ground. "There, the eastern side of the station, Stalwart-class," Sereno stated before he looked downwards at the ground.

He could only think of what to do next. Sereno kept his weapons holstered and his helmet tucked under his arm and sighed and then looked downwards at the armored plates below once more as the pelican slowly entered the station's hanger.

"Sir? Permission to speak?" He heard as he turned to look at the fourth ODST member.

A woman, clad in ODST armor with a green stripe ran down her helmet with a drawing of a flying dragon emblazoned on her chest plate. She held her helmet under her arm, revealing her blonde hair and blue eyes that also revealed she was young like him, perhaps even a little younger.

"Private Samantha?" Sereno asked before he raised an eyebrow. "You good? I know that you have family on Earth, I could put in a request to see them if you want." Sereno stated.

Sereno was utterly silent after he spoke. He didn't know what to try and figure something out… They had a LOT more at the end of the day to discuss as they exited, dragging their duffels out of the pelican and their armor.

"Are you ok? I'm more worried about you than anything, sir." Samantha said as she looked downwards at the ground, something that bothered her as she walked with them.

"We have a lot more to worry about than the dead," Sereno said before he looked to the side and seemed to only friend himself to be silent and cracked his fingers once more.

He knew what was coming, it was much too quiet at Earth, a sign of a coming storm. The peace they had on the planet never lasted and he knew more and more that he would keep fighting until his death came.

"You're the quiet one, sir. I'm just worried that the squad leader is worried." Samantha stated before she holstered her weapon.

"I'm more worried about what will happen when the Covenant finds Earth. There's no way they won't kill every human they find here." Sereno stated before he sighed once more, utterly tired for now.

This wasn't going to end well anytime soon; this wouldn't work out anytime soon. This wasn't going to work out well enough, not for something they couldn't deal with it for now.

"So, remind me why we're being shipped out here?" Garth asked as the others sighed and then looked downwards at the ground.

"Because that was what the orders said. We're being made part of some big project the navy is cooking up." Sereno said as he sighed.

"Oh? So, it is commanded by Keye's kid… Didn't think he had any kids. There's a lot of business I don't think I've been understood." Garth said to Sereno hummed and looked at them.

"Shocker, there's a lot of things that I don't think you know, Garth. Your head was always really empty." James joked before he looked at Sereno. "There's a lot of fancy ships in the navy, sir. This isn't exactly a one-of-a-kind like the Pillar of Autumn…" James said before Sereno sighed.

"I don't think anyone wants to be like Major Shiva," Sereno stated before he fell silent.

He knew damn well that whatever was going on? This couldn't end like that. Most ODSTs knew what happened to Major Shiva, Cortana had pieced together what happened from the reports from the AI there.

"I cannot believe he tried to take a ship back to Earth with the Cole Protocol," Sereno stated before he clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth.

He had a lot more to try at the end of the day before he clicked his fingers, tapping them one against the other. he hummed and then heard a loud voice that most soldiers knew.

"Yeah, he was dumb! You dumb, Helljumpers?" They turned as the man shouting revealed themselves.

They all snapped into salutes at the moment as he looked at Sergeant Avery Junior Johnson. No, Sergeant Major, a full rank above Sereno whom the man waved off.

"SIR, NO SIR!" Sereno and the others yelled before he glanced at the man.

"Good! You must be First Sergeant Sereno. You've been assigned to the 7th battalion, 105th division. That means you're on the frontlines of the damn war now." Johnson stated as they nodded.

"That's one of the best parts of the corps," Garth said as Sereno elbowed him in the side.

"We're ready to do what we need, sarge." Garth heard Sereno hum before he sighed.

He was utterly silent, knowing what was going to happen if Garth said something stupid before he looked upwards and then looked straight ahead at the soldier in front of them. They all knew they had entered the big leagues now and it was just a matter of time before they were pushed more and more at the time being as of now.

He cracked his fingers and looked more and more at the moment, something unsure of what to see and do for now.

He had a LOT more to see and do, a lot more to try and figure out what to do as of now.

He sighed to himself and then felt tired, utterly relaxed for now as he hummed once more, unsure of what to try and deal with for now.

Something about it all was going to keep bothering him and he knew more and more as he looked around the station, utterly unsure and unable to predict for it the time being. He cracked his fingers as he looked outwards across the station and seemed to try and argue once more mentally.

"Are you going to be, ok?" Garth heard before he looked to the side. "You going to be, ok?" Garth heard as the marine nodded.

"Sorry, sir. It's been a while since we've been able to sleep. We've been spending time on the pelican just thinking about what the hell is going on." Sereno stated as he crossed his arms. "Are you the commanding officer of the marines aboard the Amber? I haven't been able to find any documents explaining what's gone on." Sereno said as Johnson chuckled.

"Figured you were as green as grass when I saw your profile… Son? I ain't the damn man in charge… That would be Commander Keyes who's on her way to go get a fancy metal alongside me for kicking the covenant the hell off the hula hoop." Johnson stated before he looked out the window.

They were unable to try and figure something out once more and glanced out the window as they looked at the frigate.

"Well? Isn't like we're going anywhere, sir… We're getting out of here when we're done. Lead on." Sereno stated before he hummed and crossed his arms.

"Might want to go put our duffels on the pelican to get out of here when it comes time to." Sereno heard from James who nodded and then slowly marched past them.

Sereno hummed and sighed and rubbed at his temples before he clicked his jaw against the roof of his mouth. Sereno crossed his arms as his squad walked forward once more while he closed his eyes.

"This is ridiculously annoying once more," Sereno stated as he looked down the corridor and hummed once more as he walked after them, making him place his helmet under his head.

"You ok, Helljumpers?" He heard to which he looked over at Johnson who had nodded to himself.

"Tired, completely worn down for now. I've been leading my squad all over the place for the past few missions and they're all just getting on my nerves a bit… Then again? They're my squad." Sereno said as he watched Garth slowly look back.

"Corporal? You get out of there before I come over and knock you on your ass!" Sereno said as he sighed and smiled. "I still don't know how the hell I got through training," Sereno muttered before realizing he cursed and acted, unlike a sergeant who was supposed to be more mature and laid back.

Johnson merely stayed silent, guessing he was still just as green as the rest of his team at the end of the day for the moment.

Sereno sighed and continued walking through the station, pausing only to glance around at the Moncton-Class station. It was big, shiny, very impressive, a shield and a sword that could cut through the covenant… But it was a glass cannon.

He knew a lot of soldiers worried more about saving the generators for these stations… But it wasn't something that bothered Sereno, a single plasma missile would gut the station and kill those aboard.

In his mind? These stations were at best a delaying tactic. They might take down the fleet but they were snipers fighting enemies that could afford to take losses and keep coming.

"I heard a lot about you, sarge. You survived an entire covenant fleet." Sereno said as Johnson chuckled.

"You can thank the Master Chief for that. The only reason I'm still kicking tail with him is the covenant ain't got the stones to kill Avery Johnson… Should have brought more than some toy ships." Johnson said as Sereno frowned.

He knew about Shiva, most rumors about ODSTs spread quickly, and like what happened to Captain Keyes? The rest of the rumors spread like wildfire through the corps and fleet.

"Don't say it, Shiva was full of the same crap and he's dead. The man thought Chief was a piece of crap soldier in fancy armor." Johnson said as Shiva shook his head.

"I don't hate the Master Chief, sir. He's a soldier and so am I. I just joined the Helljumpers… Been a leatherneck long enough." Sereno said before he frowned.

A grudge was unhealthy and it was why the man was dead and he had no beef with the man who had survived. Did he fully trust or like Master Chief? No, he had a healthy dose of respect mixed with the same off topic ideal being a soldier was being a soldier.

Did he hate Spartans like most Helljumpers? No, he knew damn well the super soldiers earned their places and were good men doing what had to be done.

"Commander Keyes rammed a covenant destroyer and broke the damn thing in half?" Sereno asked as Johnson chuckled. "Going to be interesting working for someone who's got the guts to take a capital ship head on in a science ship," Sereno stated as he and Johnson chuckled.

"Commander Keyes is a lot of things, son… But if she's anything like her daddy? She's a damn good officer. She's good enough to be getting promoted so young, almost makes me want to cry." Johnson said as Garth hummed.

"I got a box of tissues if you need it, sarge," Garth said to which Johnson huffed at the man.

"He's a jackass who can blow the head off a brute at 2 clicks… Just don't bother telling him his aim is worth a damn, sir." Sereno stated as he put his helmet under his arm.

He seemed to try and figure it out for now… He had a lot more to try and figure out as of now.

"Reminds me of someone, hell jumper…" Johnson said before he hummed.

"Lost a lot of good people back there, sir. A lot of people we shouldn't have." Johnson heard as he nodded.

"Damn straight, sergeant," Johnson stated before he looked downwards at the ground.

"We got time. Do you mind if we see the ceremony? It's not every day we get heroes in the UNSC who survived something like this." Sereno asked to which Johnson chuckled.

"Yeah. Isn't every damn day we get a big shot hero when it comes to it… C'mon, let's go… Massif Squad? Follow me. Someone takes their bags to the Clad… We're all going to relax once more… All of it means a lot to the corps anyways." Sereno heard from Johnson as he sighed to himself.

He blinked as he realized what else needed to be done. He had a lot more on his mind anyway that kept growing upon him as he smiled to himself… There was a lot more as he had a lot more issues to try and figure out, something that kept beginning to grow for now.

He would not allow it to try and figure something… He slowly yet surely seemed to try and figure something out… He knew other options at the end of the day as he cracked his fingers and then yawned.

They walked through the next doors and then slowly started to walk down the stairs, surrounded by plenty of navy and marines who seemed utterly convinced of it being a good day to party.

He would need to try and relax, utterly unable to do more and more as of now. He sighed once more and cracked his fingers once more before he sighed as he looked around the room.

"You good?" He asked before he seemed to find some silence in it all, for now, utterly amused.

"Helljumpers? I'm a lot of things, but I'm better than good." Johnson stated before he glanced to the side.

He had other problems which tried to take root in his mind, something that kept bothering him more and more over time. He clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth, utterly unsure of what to try next.

Still? There was always going to be something to try and take care of, something he didn't know and would need to deal with for now even as he wished it to end in a timely and proper manner.

What issues existed? They would deal with, truly and forever? Would they need to keep fighting more and more at the end of the day, something that was annoying at the end of the day?

They had a LOT more to deal with anyway. He sighed to herself once more as for the time being now, they had a lot more to perform sooner or later.

Still? Such problems existed, something upon which could be odder and odder to deal with, a measure of which needed to be relaxed for now… It would not end well enough for the moment to matter.

The next room held dozens of marines and naval personnel all clad in dress uniforms, it felt far more like a massive amphitheater than the control station of the station.

All of them snapped into salutes so fast they seemed like robots more than people. He quickly did the same and realized why as a man placed his cap atop his head and turned.

Lord Admiral Terrance Hood. The commander of the UNSC navy, the highest ranked official of the UNSC council present after reach, and the man who commanded not only the navy but almost all UNSC marine and ODST forces.

"Holy s***," Garth added as Sereno elbowed the man in the side and snapped into a crisp and firm salute as well.

Then came the doors opening, he turned to be greeted by the face of the woman who would be commanding the vessel they'd be serving on. Commander Miranda Keyes was flanked by a man in green armor which 90% of the damn UNSC knew.

"The hell's a spartan doing here?" Emelia hissed to which Sereno hummed and looked at her once more as he sighed.

"Think we could get this lucky, sir?" Garth asked as Sereno rolled his eyes, knowing that it was going to be a VERY long day when it came down to it.

Yet? He would allow more to try and figure something out for the time being. He wasn't going to cause more problems for now and would continue to deal with it all for the time being.

They had a LOT more to try and figure out anyway as he sighed and then looked downwards at the ground for the time being while he cracked a smile.

Still? He knew more and more that he could relax once more as if this was going to be a little vacation. He put his brain on autopilot as he thought about what to try and figure out as of this very moment.

Perhaps they'd be sent somewhere with a lot of covenant soldiers and he'd be busy fighting off armies of soldiers as archer missiles destroyed everything around them. Perhaps he'd be busy dealing with saving dozens of civilians from a part of the planet.

There were alarms a few minutes later and Sereno turned towards the monitors and made out the shape of several covenant capital ships all advancing toward them.

There were dozens of small pinpricks all spiraling off… Dropships, boarding craft, and fighter craft would easily take the thing off the map.

Still? He would be quite unsure of what to do if he wasn't an ODST. He snapped into action as did his men and the Spartan, plugging his helmet over his head and then falling into action.

"Massif squad, evac the commander to the Amber!" Sereno ordered before he looked to see Lord Hood had taken the spot at the bridge as the Helljumpers sprung to action.

Sereno sighed and went to go grab his weapon, regretting that they had placed their service weapons out where nobody could reach them.

Still? he sighed, unsure of what to try and figure out as he hummed once more. Sereno sighed and grabbed a BR55 from one of the racks and slammed a clip into it.

"Sergeants? With me." They heard and turned to look at Commander Keyes as both soldiers nodded.

"How aren't we space dust yet? These guys usually bomb everything to glass by now." Garth stated as Sereno rolled his eyes.

"Because we're out of range and because these guns would cut one of those carriers in half, they aren't going to get through by just charging…" Sereno stated as he turned to Commander Keyes. "What's the plan, ma'am?" Sereno questioned to which she hummed.

"Get to the Amber, join the fight outside," Miranda stated to which Sereno hummed.

"Not going to be easy…" Sereno said as they ran towards the ship. "Got to be a few dozen…" Sereno stated before a series of bangs made them shake and almost fall to the ground.

He knew more and more as he clicked his tongue that the series of bangs were a series of covenant boarding crafts that cut through the station as of now, there wasn't going to bother more as he looked downwards at the ground.

Utterly annoying to him as the hell jumper climbed to his feet and sighed with annoyance that wasn't easily dealt with, the more training he had? The less he grasped the idea that they were in for a hell of a time as the ODSTS all gathered around Miranda, bringing their weapons to bear.

He had a LOT of things to go do, and this was… Not one of them as he slowly yet surely seemed to try and gesture the rest of the squad forwards.

They had a lot more to try and figure out as he sighed and then he slowly yet surely led his squad forwards, ready for whatever needed to be done. It was a LOT odder and odder but it was odder and as of the moment while he clicked his fingers.

There was a roar as an elite and a group of grunts rounded the corner. Sereno put a burst in the first grunt before the others opened up. The elite roared and growled as it charged him, making Sereno sigh as he barely rolled to the side, letting the beast pass.

This was before Johnson slammed his rifle into the elite's side, making it turn to face him only for a bang to make the beast stumble back, shields breaking as James racked his shotgun.

It screamed only for Johnson to shove his rifle in its face and pull the trigger, painting the window behind it in the alien's blood as it collapsed, causing the grunts to break.

Garth pulled out his magnum and quickly put a trio of bullets in their heads, watching the three collapses to the ground.

"So… Done here?" Garth asked before more plasma fire from behind them forced them to turn and look around and then turned to look to the side.

"No… Screw it, keep shooting until we're off the station… The last thing we need is more covenant boarding the gun… Sides it isn't going to matter if they blow up the station while we're still on it." Garth heard from Sereno as he looked to the side as of now.

There was a lot more to try and figure out as of now. She would not be able to relax as she hummed, utterly unsure of what to try and deal with for now.

He sighed as he gently nudged the others towards the frigate at the moment, utterly unable to do more and more as of now… They had to get out of there before it would all fall apart. There was just too much to try and deal with knowing that whatever was ahead? Would probably be worse than this.

He slowly led the group back, knowing that Commander Keyes and Sergeant Johnson still outranked him and he was under their command just as much as his team was his.

"Honestly? I didn't think we'd be meeting our boss with a bunch of Covenant shooting at us… But I didn't expect much to begin with something like this." Garth stated before Sereno hummed and looked down.

He hummed to himself as he looked to the side. Keyes looked at the soldiers before they formed a semi-circle around the woman.

"Sergeant, are you staying behind to secure Cairo?" Sereno heard a she turned to look at Miranda who was utterly silent.

"No, Chief has got it… Sides… I have a feeling they're not here to blow up Cairo Station. They would have sent more than this if they were." Sereno stated to which he frowned. "Ma'am? Right now, unless Admiral Hood tells me otherwise? My only objective is getting you and the rest of the crew to the Amber so we have a fighting chance out." Sereno stated before he sighed.

Such things only seemed to be odder and odder. There was going to be hell to pay out on the battlefield and he damn well knew it to hell itself.

Such measures only served to bother him for a much longer time than it was possible to deal with for now… Perhaps fate or perhaps just because he had NOTHING left worth losing, a measure upon which he DEEPLY needed to secure.

The second they were out? The easier they'd be able to secure a victory, one which would allow them to win this for good and then? They'd go right back to relaxing and seeing it all end.

Sereno did know that whatever came next? It would be far worse than this for now… A fitting end to it all within flames of fire as of now.

This was something that could be able to try and deal with more and more only seemed to try and end it for now in a way that was all too easily dealt with it all for now… Such things only seemed to be dealt with when it mattered.

Still? He didn't show much more amusement when he managed to relax more and more as he hummed.

He didn't even know what was going on, partly because he would not be able to relax if he didn't handle it for now… Such things would need to be dealt with for now.

"That group isn't going down to the Amber… And something tells me they're not after us." Miranda stated as Sereno hummed before looking downwards at the ground.

He would be able to say something if he had a few seconds of silence before he looked out the window. One of the carriers… Both of them were accelerating toward the fleet and ignoring them.

He blinked before a light lit up two of the stations, turning Malta and Athens into blips of light with melting scrap spiraling around them, lighting up the sky. The remains of the stations flowed across the vapid void of space.

"Damn it…" Sereno muttered as more plasma fire opened up on them. "Get to the Amber, we're cut a path!" Sereno said before continuing to fire his battle rifle.

"No, we're all getting out of here, Sergeant. You are part of my crew according to the paperwork so that means you're helping us." Miranda stated before Sereno sighed and then paused to look to the side.

He hummed once more, utterly able to do more than relax as he sighed and clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth. Such problems would end now and for a good reason, he would relax more and more.

Such problems would be unable to be ended anytime soon, whatever comes next? Yet? He would keep cutting through the statistic more and more as he sighed and then yawned before looking downwards at the ground, utterly annoyed.

Yet? He would keep fighting, knowing that whatever came next? He'd probably end up dying more and more as he clicked his tongue at the moment, unsure of what the covenant would throw at him as he expended his magazine into a group of covenant soldiers.

All of it ended purely and utterly as he slowly yet surely backed off more and more while he clicked his tongue again and looked at Miranda who put down another grunt with a shot to the head as she sighed before she sighed.

Such problems would allow more problems to fester and grow for now.

He had FAR too many problems to just die out for now knowing what was coming and what was going on at the end of the day, something about it only seemed to die out more and more.

The problems in his mind kept building up and up into his mind as he was able to die out for now, something buried within the depths of the pain within him. This was something he truly could not afford to deal with for now, he had a lot more to try and deal with.

He hummed, more curious than not about what was coming and just how he could stand to deal with it. He knew more and more.

"If they're not here for us? What are they here for?" Garth asked as James blew the head off an elite.

"Earth, they're not here for us… If they were? That fleet would be 1000 times that size and firing as soon as it came here. They ain't, probably didn't know what the hell is going on." Sereno stated as they reached the cord connecting the Amber to the Cairo.

"We can talk about that when they're all dealt with… Sergeants? Onboard, the rest of the station chief can handle." Keyes ordered as they nodded.

"Right, need to get down there and figure everything out… Let's go, Massif squad." Sereno said, slowly backing aboard the ramp.

There was another shot near him as a pair of grunts and a jackal appeared, both Johnson and Sereno brought up their guns, dousing the trio of covenant soldiers in bullets and dropping them all in one volley.

The two slowly yet surely advanced back into the tube with the remains of the crew following behind them. Sereno dropped the clip and then slowly started to fall silent, utterly so as he guessed the next option would keep dealing with it all.

He sighed once more and more as he leaned on the wall. He didn't at all know what to deal with as he hummed.

He crossed his arms and strapped in. The door closed shut behind him, trapping him in as he moved towards the bridge.

"This isn't how I expected us to meet, ma'am," Sereno said as Miranda strapped herself in.

"I did, the Covenant always ruin everything," Miranda said as Sereno hummed. "You still want to go out there with an M7 and gun down every single soldier in Cairo, don't you? My father worked with Helljumpers on the last Halo ring… I've heard a lot about you." Sereno said as Garth chuckled.

"Knock it off, Garth," Sereno muttered before he turned his head back towards Miranda. "I don't know what to say, ma'am. I'm a soldier, just doing my job… Those covenant SOBS are busy sacking Cairo… I'd be honest and tell you I'm not happy to let them run loose… But I get it's bigger than here." Sereno stated before he sighed to himself.

"We all want to kick some Covie ass, Helljumpers. Those SOBS killed a friend back in the ring… But we have plenty of chances for revenge." Sereno heard as he paused before he looked at Johnson.

"What's the plan, ma'am?" Sereno asked, looking over at Miranda as he hummed to himself before sighing once again as he clicked his rifle into safety, there was a lot more to try next for now.

"Buckle in… We're going to deal with their fleet… Or I suppose, the chief will," Miranda said as the In Amber Clad accelerated away.

"Sir? We've set off. Moving to engage the carrier." Miranda said as she paused. "Boys? Prepare for the ground assault." Miranda stated before she sighed.

"Negative, commander. Those carriers will turn our fleet into scrap metal… The Master Chief is handling it." They heard before another mutter of chattering was heard. "The other ships are deploying ground troops, hundreds of covenant troops… All available ships, defend those MAC generators. We lose them, we lose the damn planet." Hood stated.

Sereno was about to say something before a brilliant burning light lit up the sky, one which echoed across all of the battlefield as they looked upwards.

One of the carriers, a hulking beast of a warship that dwarfed everything on the battlefield opened like a flower, flames, and fire spreading and consuming the entire ship as the others paused to look at it as it shattered like brittle glass. It sheered itself in half, breaking into pieces before a small thump was heard above them.

"For a brick? He flew pretty well." Johnson said as Sereno hummed.

"Helluva soldier for a spartan," Garth said as Sereno hummed.

"Chief, get aboard… We're sending soldiers to the surface." Miranda ordered before she turned to Sereno and Johnson. "Sergeants? Get to the hanger, we're going to make sure that Prophet doesn't get out of here. Attention all crew, prepare for battle, all marines and ODSTs, report to the hanger for deployment." Miranda ordered as Sereno nodded.

"I'm going to need a new gun before I get down there." Miranda heard as she paused before looking downwards.

"Stop by the hanger, they told me they've loaded the armory till it bursts." Sereno heard as they nodded.

"Yes, ma'am," Sereno stated before he sighed and then turned to Johnson as he hummed once again, unable to relax more as he hummed.

He hummed as he looked downwards at the ground before he looked downwards at the ground. He didn't manage to relax for now as he hummed, utterly able to see and do more at the time being.

Yet? He didn't know what to say at this moment, he relaxed and knew that he wouldn't be able to fight if the anger building in him reached a fever pitch as he clicked his fingers and hummed once against the roof of his mouth.

He guessed that there was more to try and deal with for now, he clicked his fingers against one another. Perhaps he could find out what had driven the Covenant to Earth if they were going to be here? They'd have brought a thousand armies to mow them down with.

Yet? He would guess the Covenant made it fair by not showing up in such a way, they would all be so lucky to know how this ended and know they could keep fighting more and more.

He clicked his jaw against the roof of his mouth after a few seconds of silence as he sighed before he cracked his fingers against one another, something that would be all too easy to try and deal with such a maneuver.

Miranda watched as Sereno moved to the other side of the bridge, looking out the window at the rest of the fleet, watching as UNSC and Covenant cruisers traded fire. He watched as missiles and explosions dotted the sky, transforming the sky into a hellish dance which made him sigh before he glanced around.

Sereno looked at Miranda before he slowly began to pace back and forth across the bridge as he clicked his fingers together, nervously tapping a foot on the ground.

"It will be all right, sergeant," Keyes stated before she frowned.

"I hate stuff like this, ma'am, waiting and watching and not being able to do a damn thing about it," Sereno stated before Garth nodded.

"Agreed, we both know how this is going to be a damn mess if we survive it," Garth stated before Johnson walked into the ship before he looked to the side.

"Both you and the others? Go get ready for ground support. The carrier is heading to the ground, and the Prophet will send more soldiers to assault the ground." Miranda stated before she looked at the two others.

He would be utterly unable to try something that he could deal with as Sereno turned to Johnson before he nodded to himself.

"We're going to the ground, soldier." Sereno heard as he cracked his fingers.

"Tell me what to do down there, sir," Sereno stated before he yawned.

He yawned before he slowly started to try and deal with something before now.

They marched toward the hangers, able to try and grab his rifle before he slowly started to raise his rifle and then marched towards the pelicans. He wouldn't be able to relax before covering his helmet as he rotated, slowly sitting down on the seat next to himself.

There was more to this tale, something that he could allow himself to relax more as of now, there was something else to try to cut through, and he? He had nothing else on his mind besides the war, one cutting through the fat and madness in his thoughts.

They were here, they were on Humanity's damn front lawn. He knew damn well this was going to be the end of the war for humanity, every human in the galaxy would be wiped out, slaughtered like cattle, and butchered.

He racked his rifle. If he was going to be able to die here? He'd damn well die on the frontlines of war itself. That was how an ODST went out.

"This is the end of the line," Sereno said as the pelican slowly yet surely departed from the warship.

He sighed, too annoyed to think, to feel anything as that wouldn't help those below. He decided instead to think of how best to fight the covenant and how many he could save on the surface for now.

The pelican, the first of the 6 within the Stewart-Class Light Frigate, launched from the ship. It twisted, floating through the vacuum of space as he was reminded how different the regular means of deployment were.

He hummed, utterly imagining what was to have happened to Earth if they failed… All of the ODSTS and marines around him felt tired, locked into their ways, thrown off, and thrown for a loop as he realized that they were at the edge of the road.

The end of all roads, this was the last battle of the war, and he? He knew they were going to die eventually and perhaps today was that day.

He guessed that an aircraft might just blow us out of the sky, he had something else to deal with mentally again and again for the time being.

All of the options within his mind seemed to try and deal with it as they came down to it. Their journey might all fall apart here in the vacuum of space and all he'd have to show for it was a bit of work.

They had so much work to try as they came down to it. He felt the pelican slowly yet surely slip into the atmosphere of Earth.

He had to relax, balancing on the fact they weren't all damn well dead, they still had some small little issues to punch out for now

Author Notes

Phew. Another chapter is done! I want to point out that the next chapter will be in 2-10 months and will show more of both Massif Squad and the others all combating the Covenant on the ground. Until the 900–6500-word chapter, Lighting Wolf out!

P.S: Next chapter will be a bit delayed and such for now.
