Here we are at Chapter 85. Time for Megatron's reunion with the one who once snuffed his spark, Bumblebee, on Earth. I do not own RWBY or Transformers. They belong to their respective owners. Here's chapter 85. Enjoy.

Chapter 85: Surprises never Cease

"Megatron?!" Bumblebee exclaims in total shock.

Here, in the scrapyard that is his team's base, stands a human wearing strange armor, speaking about details that so few would know about. The only humans that knew how he lost his voicebox were his old friends back during the previous war for Earth, and that's not this guy.

"I know it seems strange, given my appearance, but it is I, scout. Megatron," Megatron replies.

"How... how is this possible?" Bumblebee can hardly believe it.

"Lt., there must be some mistake. Perhaps this human is confused or something," Strongarm interjects.

"I am not confused, child. Or perhaps your 'Lt.' needs more convincing. You were there, on Cybertron, when I was brought back to life by Unicron and turned into his slave. It was only through the efforts of Optimus Prime that I was freed from that cruel fate. Trapping the Chaos Bringer's anti-spark in the same container that once housed the Allspark," Megatron says.

That was enough to convince Bumblebee. No human knew of that. He never even told Russell and Denny. For this human to know of such privileged information; there can only be one possible explanation.

"It is you, Megatron... But how?" Bumblebee asks.

"Wait, Lt. Are you saying you believe him?" Strongarm asks.

"Yeah, I mean, it smells fishy to me," Grimlock.

"I do NOT smell," Megatron retorts.

"He knows about how Unicron was defeated on Cybertron. No human knows of this. It's the only explanation," Bumblebee says.

Sideswipe leans down to inspect Megatron, "Hah, if this is Megatron, then boy did he get a downgrade. He's so tiny now. Man, this must be embarrassing," he laughs.

Megatron growls before conjuring a hammer and smashing it into Sideswipe's face, making him stumble back. Megatron then creates a whip to wrap around one of his legs, pulling hard to trip him up. Sideswipe falls, almost landing on Denny and Russell while landing on his back. When he looks up, he finds Megatron standing over him with his cannon aimed at his face.

"I have faced far greater, and bigger, challenges than you, CHILD, and I still claimed victory. Do not underestimate me again," Megatron threatens him.

Strongarm takes out her crossbow and aims it at Megatron, "Step away from the idiot and put your hands in the air. If you are indeed Megatron, then you are under arrest for numerous war crimes against Cybertron and other worlds like this one,"

Megatron narrows his eyes. He will never allow anyone to enslave or imprison him again.

Bumblebee steps between them, "Easy, easy, let's all calm down. Strongarm, lower your weapon,"

This surprises his subordinate, "But Lt., if that is Megatron, then he's a war criminal. He needs to be brought in. Even more so than all the escaped prisoners of the Alchemor combined,"

"I know, but we need to know what's going on first. Besides, you weren't there, Strongarm. Megatron disbanded the decepticons after he was freed from Unicron's grasp and left Cybertron in exile. I want to know how he became human and why he's here," Bumblebee turns to Megatron, who jumps off Sideswipe. "How are you a human, Megatron?"

"Optimus," Megatron replies.

Bumblebee narrows his eyes a bit, "Alright, you have my attention. Please, explain,"

Megatron goes on to explain his story. How Optimus came to him in his exile and told of him of his mission for redemption. About Remnant and the conflicts there. About meeting his allies, and enemies who are all Cybertronian before changing into the inhabitants of Remnant. And how their enemies serve Thunderwing, a servant of Unicron, who now seeks to revive his master by plunging Remnant into chaos. Using the energy bred from that chaos, Thunderwing would return to Cybertron and resurrect his master.

"Unicron's return. I thought we were finally rid of him back on Cybertron" Bumblebee shakes his head.

"As long as Remnant is saved, that outcome will not happen. However, my mission is not to save Remnant myself per say, but to aid the ones destined to save it," Megatron explains.

"And who is?" Russell asks.

It was a little hard to take, learning that humans lived on another world similar, but different, to Earth. But, after everything they've seen with Bumblebee and his team, he and his dad are getting used to crazy surprises.

"A young girl with Silver Eyes, eyes which hold incredible power. Her name is Ruby Rose. My mission, specifically, is to aid and protect her sister, Yang Xiao Long. Soundwave, Dreadwing, Predaking, and I were each tasked with protecting the members of Ruby's team. Her team, Team RWBY, are the only ones who can save Remnant. But, if even a single one is lost, then so is all of Remnant. And then Unicron will return... and Cybertron will be lost once more. That is my mission, Bumblebee. We were fighting a battle in a realm between worlds, so to speak, and while we saved the people we were protecting, we all fell into the abyss below. Some of our comrades escaped to safety, but not all of us. I thought we had perished, but... then next thing I knew, I awoke to find myself back here, on Earth. If I am here, then my comrades must be here too. I must find them. Find Yang. And then find a way back to Remnant. The longer we remain away, the more danger Remnant and its people are in," Megatron explains.

"And why should we believe you? You destroyed Cybertron, tried to take over Earth, and now you suddenly care about other people's lives and want to save another world. I find that hard to believe," Strong arm remains skeptical as she stares daggers at Megatron.

"Make no mistake, I will never be forgiven for my past transgressions. All I care about is making sure Yang is safe and that we are back home. I will do what I must to ensure that happens. If that means pleading for help from former enemies, then so be it. Bumblebee, I know she is on this world. Help me find Yang and the others, and I will leave once we find a way back to Remnant," Megatron pleads.

All eyes turn to Bumblebee. As the leader, the final say is with him.

"Megatron, let me ask you one question. What is this Yang Xiao Long to you? I see how serious you are about finding her, but is that simply because of your mission?" Bumblebee asks.

"At the beginning, it was. But now... Yang has taught me much. Being human has allowed me to see things that I couldn't see before as a cybertronian. To realize many things. Yang Xaio Long is my mission, but not because she is why I was sent to Remnant. Yang is my mission because she means more to me than my redemption," Megatron doesn't hesitate.

"...Okay then, we'll help," Bumblebee decides.

"Really?!" Sideswipe and Strongarm yell.

"Thank you, Bumblebee," Megatron says.

"Lt. I'm afraid I must interject. If this is truly Megatron, he is a criminal. The worst of them all. He started a war that destroyed out home. How can we believe him when he says he wants to save a world now? This makes no sense at all. Why are you just blindly trusting him?" Strongarm asks.

"Whether or not I trust Megatron is one thing, but there is someone who can explain this situation. Someone whom we can trust," Bumblebee says.

"Wait, are you saying-," Sideswipe asks.

"Who is this person who refer to, Bumblebee?" Megatron asks.

Bumblebee turns back to him, "Optimus. He's alive, Megatron,"

This shocks Megatron more than finding himself back on Earth.

…

Meanwhile, Dreadwing, Weiss, and Soundwave continue their search for their allies, and possibly a good place to find safety for a while.

"I know this is wrong to say, but I can't help but feel sad that Laserbeak is not with us. He would've been very helpful in scouting around and finding our allies," Dreadwing notes.

"...Laserbeak... Remnant..." Soundwave replies.

"If he's there, then he'll be able to help our comrades on the other side," Dreadwing says.

During the journey, Dreadwing and Weiss told Soundwave about everything that happened after he fell into the abyss since they fell later.

"Do you think everyone else is alright? Where would they go first?" Weiss wonders.

"I believe they'd look for shelter. A place with food and water. In uncharted territory, it's best to be as prepared as possible. The only downside to that is in regards to what we discussed earlier. Scrap, if only I could transform and fly again. I could get a better view of our surroundings and find our friends," Dreadwing replies.

Weiss stops and gets a look in her eyes, "Wait, maybe that could work. Dreadwing, when you call your brother's spirit, he always comes in his old form, right. Is it possible that he could also transform in that spirit form too and fly up to find our friends?"

"Ah, I see. That may work. Brilliant, Lady Weiss. Give me a moment... Skyquake," Dreadwing activates his semblance and calls forth his brother's spirit.

"I am here, Brother. I am glad to see you are unharmed, but... wait, where are we?" Skyquake looks around at the unfamiliar landscape.

"I know this may be hard to fathom, Brother, but somehow after we fell into the abyss at the battle for Atlas, we ended up here... back on Earth," Dreadwing says.

"How is this possible? Earth and Remnant are so far from one another. The only technology that could perform such a feat is a spacebridge. And Remnant does not possess such advanced technology," Skyquake notes.

"I can only say that it was not technology, neither human nor cybertronian, that brought us here. That realm between the kingdoms. The magical properties there must have somehow connected Remnant to Earth. But, that is not important right now. Skyquake, we must find our friends and time is of the essence. Do you think you can transform into your jet mode and fly into the sky to locate them? Or to at least get a better read on our surroundings?" Dreadwing asks.

"Hmmm, it's possible since I still remain in the form I was before I died. Let us see," Skyquake closes his eyes, as does Dreadwing to focus his semblance.

Skyquake walks only to slowly pick up speed into a run. Soon enough, he jumps into the air and transforms into his jet mode. The others smile at this development. Skyquake takes to the sky, circling around and getting a bird's eye view of the land. He spots different structures and landmarks, some closer than others. However, as he goes further, he begins to feel weak, like how he fades when Dreadwing deactivates his semblance. Dreadwing can feel it too as the further away Skyquake is from him, the harder it is to keep his brother's spirit around. Skyquake decides not to push it and heads back, transforming and landing next to the group.

"Brother, are you alright?" Skyquake asks.

Dreadwing holds his head a moment, "Yes, I am functional, Skyquake. I didn't think to consider that range would affect my semblance. You've always fought closely by my side, but this is possibly the first time we've separated ourselves to such a degree. Or, perhaps you being in your vehicle mode drains more of my strength than usual,"

"...Short distance...Scout..." Soundwave says.

"Soundwave's right. At least he was able to get up in the air and scope our surroundings. Skyquake, what did you see?"

"Some structures in the distance, some closer than others. The closest is northeast from here," Skyquake says.

"Then that is where we will go first. Thank you, brother. Rest now," Dreadwing deactivates his semblance. Skyquake bids them a nod goodbye before he vanishes. "We had best get moving,"

Weiss places a hand on his shoulder, "Dreadwing, are you okay?"

"I am fine, Milady. Even more so once we find our friends and find a way back to Remnant," Dreadwing replies.

The trio head to their next destination, hoping to find friendly faces along the way.

…

Back with Megatron, the former cybertronian rides in Bumblebee's vehicle mode, and Strongarm who didn't want to let Megatron out of her sight, as they search the surrounding area for signs of his friends. During the drive, Megatron still processes the information that Bumblebee told him about Optimus Prime.

"Is it still bugging you?" Bumblebee asks.

"Surprisingly, not as much as one would think. If Optimus Prime was able to come to me in space after becoming one with the Allspark, then he can find a way to come back from the dead. I did, after all. But to think that battles still rage on this world, despite the war being over. But, when I disbanded the decepticons, none of my former soldiers were there to hear me. Another failure of my leadership, it would seem," Megatron notes.

"Like you're the one who should be surprised. I find you turned into a human, there's another world with humans in danger from Unicron and other monsters, but I think the most surprising thing of all is that you're actually more concerned for someone else's safety instead of your own," Bumblebee notes.

"Silent, scout. Or would you prefer I rip out your voicebox all over again," Megatron threatens.

"Touchy, touchy. Let's find your friends... man that sounds so weird when I say it," Bumblebee mutters.

Going offroad, the group continue their search for Yang and the others. Meanwhile, Grimlock remains at the scrapyard with the humans while Fixit scans for any signatures that could be their targets or Steeljaw and his pack. Sideswipe, on the other hand, checks out other potential areas.

"How long have you been fighting my former soldiers on this world?" Megatron asks.

"For some time now. Not as long as during the war for the planet, but long enough. Optimus, in a vision, sent me to Earth. Strongarm and Sideswipe tagged along basically, and that's where we met Fixit, Denny and Russell, and learned of the Alchemor crashing here. Steeljaw has been our biggest problem for a while. He wants to claim Earth as a new decepticon homeworld with him in charge. Following in your old footsteps, looks like..." Bumblebee explains.

Megatron grunts, "Steeljaw is ambitious, but lacks true vision. What's more, trying to conquer the world with only a small number of troops? Preposterous. I once commanded an army from a mighty warship. And even I failed in the end... because I wanted too much. Because I did not understand what truly matters. What makes a true leader,"

"I guess Optimus as right after all," Bumblebee notes.

"About what?" Megatron asks.

"He always said that every sentient being possesses the capacity for change. Even you. I never really believe him though... guess I was wrong," Bumblebee says.

"No, you weren't exactly wrong. Starscream is still as scheming as ever, only now he seeks revenge against me after everything I did to him. He will not stop until he is destroyed. I spared his life before. I will not make that mistake again," Megatron replies.

…

Meanwhile, Ruby, Blake, and Predaking continue looking around for allies while keeping a low profile.

"I hope we're not lost," Ruby notes.

"We're on another world entirely, Ruby. I think being lost is the least of our problems. If a fight happens, then you may need to stay back. We still haven't found Crescent Rose or the others," Blake says. Suddenly, Predaking stops and holds a hand up for them, sniffing the air. "Predaking, what is it?"

Predaking sniffs a few more times, "Something's wrong. We need to move, now,"

The trio move and take shelter among the forestry, sticking to the shadows. A moment later, they see two vehicles come by, only for said vehicles to transform into robots. One looks like a giant, green robotic frog. The other looks like a bipedal robotic lobster. Bisk and Springload.

"Are you sure the energon signature was around here? I'm not seeing anything that even remotely looks cybertronian," Springload asks.

"Look, Steeljaw wanted us to check out these recent energon signatures that have been popping up. Thinks the autobots are up to something," Bisk replies.

Springload growls, "Still can't believe we let him convince us to follow him again. After what happened last time. I'd much rather continue my search for Doradus,"

"Look, we might find something useful at that Decepticon Island he was talking about earlier. As long as I don't end up back in a stasis pod, let's check it out. Come on," Bisk starts walking as they scope out the scene.

Predaking and the others remain in hiding, "Decepticons, back on Earth?"

"That's not good, right Predaking,?" Blek gets worried.

"If decepticons are here, then things are more dangerous than we originally thought. We must find the others. As much as I hate to admit it, it would be best to avoid gaining their attention right now. Let's move," Predaking leads the way as they avoid the two decepticons.

As the decepticons look around, they pick up on the energon signature, "Wait, the signature is moving. It's still faint, but it's definitely moving... this way," Bisk turns around in the direction of the group.

The group stops while still under cover, not making a sound. Springload launches out his tongue towards them. It narrowly misses them, but they know they've been found out now. Predaking engages his semblance and sends out his flame Predacon form towards the decepticons. The move spooks them and they bolt to the sides.

"The spirits have sent another challenge on my quest to find Doradus!" Springload cheers.

"That's not spirit, it looks like a predacon up in flames!" Bisk says.

While they are distracted, the group make their retreat. Only when they feel they've gained enough distance does Predaking drop the veil and his predacon form disappears. Predaking and the others don't stick around to see the aftermath and run as far away as possible.

"If those decepticons you told us about are here, do you think they found the others?!" Blake asks.

"Let's hope not. We'll have to find them first. By the Pit, this accursed world never ceases to grind my gears," Predaking curses.

…

Meanwhile, as Megatron, Bumblebee and Strongarm continue their search for the former's friends, a lone figure is scene on a cliffside watching them move. Neo watches them leave before walking away from the cliff, intent on finding her own target, Ruby. Even if that means getting a little bit of help first.

And that's the chapter. Megatron gains new allies in Bumblebee and his team, but Earth is just as dangerous as when he was last there. Meanwhile, his friends continue searching for each other, but find many challenges along the way. Will Megatron find Yang and the others before it's too late? Until then, please Read and Review.
