Chapter 11

Plotting and Warnings

"O.k., we need to talk."

Tsuyu slowly looked up and over the book, she was reading while on her bed, seeing the rather unusually stern look coming from Mina, who had simply barged into the frog-like woman's room and swiftly shut the door behind her.

"It's impolite to enter someone's room without knocking, kero."

"Wha?... oh sorry." Mina apologized as she tapped her fist gently on the back of Tsu's door, causing the woman on the bed to roll her eyes and sigh gently.

"Well, since you so nicely knocked on the door, what did you want to talk about, kero?" Tsuyu spoke with a sigh, closing her book after placing a rather cute green bookmark to save her place. Mina, at this point, had already moved to sit on her bed, "And make yourself at home."

Silence filled the room as Mina shifted herself to sit cross-legged in front of Tsu, her hands balled into fists and resting on her lap as she had her eyes closed and taking a few deep breaths as if she was thinking about something, which was odd to Tsu as she tilted her head and waited for whatever the pink-skinned woman had on her mind.

With a sudden slap on her cheeks, Mina's eyes opened, and she was staring hard at Tsu, who blinked and ribbited from the action, "Do you like Izuku?"

"Kero, Yes, I do."

"Alright, so I wa- Wait, what?!" Mina shouted, suddenly moving forward with her hands slamming on the bed as she rose, wide-eyed at the frog girl, "Y-You do?"

"Yes, I do, kero, and I know you do too."

Mina kept staring at Tsuyu, who only made a single ribbit escape past her lips as the frog girl watched the hue on the acid woman's cheeks slowly grow more purple in tone, "To be fair, kero, you haven't been subtle in your attraction to Midoriya."

Mina moved back, pouting with her cheeks puffed up before groaning and crossing her arms over her chest, "Fine! Yes, I really like Izuku!" Her pout slowly began to change into a happy little smile, her hands moving in front of her as she pressed her fingertips together, "He's charming, and he told me how cute I am… mutations and all… plus he's just a big ol' softy, which honestly is a rare thing with guys with that kind of power."

"Bakugo and Todoroki, kero?"

"Eeehhh… Not so much Todoroki." Mina spoke with an unsure sort of tone to her voice, wiggling her hand to emphasize the point, "Sure, he's super strong and a bit of a 'lone wolf', but I think there's something else which I don't think he's willing to talk about." But that unsureness disappeared as she looked deadpan at the frog woman before her, "Bakugo can go rot for all I care; his ego is so large, I'm shocked anyone can be around him."

Tilting her head gently, Tsu placed a finger on her cheek, something Mina and many of the other girls would often find very cute, "I'll admit, seeing a few of the guys trying to be friends with him, always confused me, especially Kirishima, kero."

"My fellow 'horn buddy' is trying to mellow out Bakugo, I think… god knows why, but Kirishima obviously sees something the rest of us don't." Mina sighed and rested her cheek on her arm, staring again into Tsu's rather emotionless gaze, "So, changing the topic, because I would rather we talk about someone we actually like… When were you going to ask Izuku out?"

"Kero, No 'if' I would ask him out?"

"Girl, let's face it, out of the rest of us girls in the class, when you want something, there is no 'if'; it's only a matter of time until 'when'!" Mina beamed, smiling brightly and giggling as well while a dusting of red appeared on the frog's girl's cheeks.

"Fair enough, kero… Given how busy we all are training, I was going to ask him after the sports festival."

"Huh… I was going to do the same thing, truth be told." Mina leaned further back, her arms behind her as she looked up at the ceiling for a few moments before looking back at the frog girl who still had her head tilted, this time with her tongue hanging out the side of her mouth slightly, "Great minds think alike, huh?"

"I guess, but that still leaves the question of how we will go about this, kero…." Tsu, at this point, was leaning against the headboard of her bed, looking up to the ceiling in contemplation, while Mina just finally let go and was lying on the frog woman's bed, doing the same.

"We could make a bet? Who can get furthest in the festival can ask him out first?"

"Kero, it's an idea, but there is the problem of what happens if both of us get knocked out at the same time or are forced to forfeit." Tsu said, looking back at Mina, who had lifted her head with a raised eyebrow, "I know my strengths, and if I ever had to go against Todoroki one on one, I'd rather take the loss than end up hibernating in ice."

"That's fair, and I think the only person that could escape the ice would be Izuku…." Mina said as she laid her head back down on the bed. They were silent momentarily before Mina finally said, "I just…thought of something."

"That's scary, kero."

Mina merely puffed her cheeks and pouted, causing Tsu to giggle slightly before the pink-skinned heroine in training spoke once again, "What if we both dated Izuku?"

That had undoubtedly made the frog-like woman pause her giggling, staring with her usual blank gaze for a moment before tilting her head to one side a little and blinking, "Kero… where did that come from? Not like I'm shooting it down, but I'd like to hear your thought process."

"W-well.." Mina cleared her throat, sitting a little more straight, "First off, if we both went up to Izuku to go out with either of us, there's a good chance that he'd be unable to make up his mind on who to go out with."

"True, kero… Izuku would rather not risk hurting our feelings if he chose one person over the other."

"Not only that but with how busy we are with our hero training and classes, having two partners would be beneficial, so no matter what, we spend time together."

Tsu had placed a finger on her chin, looking up in deep thought, "That's fair."

"A-and…" Mina interrupted with a slight blush, "When Izuku is busy, the two of us… could also keep each other company."

Another heavy silence fell into the room, Tsu's eyes widening slightly as she was trying to fight the blush coming onto her cheeks, "Mina… are you asking-"

"I-I mean-!" Mina squeaked and raised her hands, "Not going to lie, Tsu, but you are very adorable and can be downright sexy… but also dependable and brutally honest-."

"I have to be with my quirk, kero."

"Even if that was the case, your super awesome, Tsu! And if we both date Izuku, I think we will spend a lot of time together and maybe… become more than just friends?"

The look Mina was giving Tsu was hard for the frog girl. While she cherished all her new friends at UA, even if the time they had spent was very short so far, she never stopped to really look at them in a romantic sort of light. Admittedly, she knew that every single woman in class 1-A was gorgeous, even if she had some issues with her self-image.

And while she wasn't always up for whatever some of the other women planned, she knew that all of them were dependable and downright welcoming of Tsu and her rather blunt way of talking. But now she was dealing with something that she never expected to happen.

With a gentle croak, Tsu spoke softly, "You know how I speak my mind, right? And how blunt I can be?" When Mina nodded silently in response, the frog woman continued, "First off, the idea about us both dating Izuku is something I'd be interested in, considering I'd rather not fight you over his affections."

Mina started to say something while smiling brightly but was shushed when Tsu's large finger was lifted up in the air for her to wait, "Not done, kero… in regards to your other suggestion, I will need to think about it."

When Mina started to slowly look a bit crestfallen, Tsu croaked to get her attention once again, "Kero, it's not a rejection, but I've never had anyone ask me to date them before, man or woman, and I'm not one hundred percent sure if I see women like that."

"But, we could try it out if this all goes according to plan. If it doesn't work with Izuku, I wouldn't mind trying dating you, too. You'd have to be slow and patient with me, kero."

"O-of course!" Mina loudly proclaimed, smiling brightly now as she bounced slightly on the bed with her giggling and cheeks having a slight tinge of purple on them.

Tsu cleared her throat again, trying to keep her blushing down as she spoke again, "Was there anything else you wanted to talk about, kero?"

"Oh, right!" Mina suddenly stopped her giddiness, her eyes went sharp, and her smile faded, "It's still regarding Izuku, but have you noticed anything different with him lately?"

Tsu tilted her head again, her cheeks returning to their pale coloration, "I haven't seen much of him outside of classes since I've been training for the Sports Festival; why? Is something wrong, kero?"

"Well, since he told us about how they stopped him from working out, which is weird considering we have the sports festival coming up. I've noticed he just seems more… I dunno, if upset is the right word, but whenever someone brings up the festival, he would get reticent and a little sad, often trying to steer the direction of the conversation away from it."

"Kero, now that you mention it… I've noticed that too, but I thought it was because since he lived at UA for most of his life, he wouldn't be that excited? Like when you go to an amusement park every year since you were four, nothing's really changed." Tsu placed a finger on her chin, thinking about what she had noticed in the last few weeks since then.

"That's right, and as his future girlfriends, we should go and ask him-"

"Kero, I don't think that would work." Tsu interrupted the pink woman who looked ready to charge out of her room and was, in fact, already getting up before Tsu's tongue wrapped around Mina's wrist, "While I'm sure that Izuku would tell us if he wasn't going to be at the Sports Festival, he has been known to forced to withhold information because of his grandpa or by the dean."

"Oh, yea…" Mina visibly deflated and sat back down, her hands crossing her chest again, "So what do we do?"

"Kero, well… we only got two weeks left to prepare, so if he's not going to be at the festival, we ask him why after it's over. And if it's because of Nezu, we confront the dean with Izuku."

"... Are you sure that would be the smartest thing? I mean, Nezu could just kick our butts out of here." Mina said with a hint of worry while Tsuyu ribbited gently.

"It's possible, but they can't keep hiding him here at UA, kero." Tsu spoke sternly, "Eventually, Izuku is going to leave and become a great hero; he'll be in the public eye. And the festival is used to promote ourselves."

"Kero, I know that Izuku would do his best to make sure he never overshadows anyone or us. But let's face it, kero, he's always holding back, and even then, he's powerful and fast and would get the attention of everyone."

"I mean, I get that…." Mina sighed softly, eyeing the frog woman, who started talking again.

"Doesn't mean we wouldn't give him a run for his money, kero, especially with you with your acid."

Mina blushed gently, thinking back to when she was rubbing lotion onto his muscular yet soft back before shaking her head gently to forget the memories… for now, at least. Her attention went to Tsu again, "So… what do we do then?"

"We wait and watch, if our suspicions are correct, then we strike, kero, and if he is actually participating in the festival and wins, then he will feel more like a 'winner' when we are through with him."

"... You know, and I mean no offense when I say this, you're kind of scary when you get like this."

"Kero, I'm a frog with wants and needs, and I want and need to cuddle up with Izuku."

A sudden knock on his door caught the attention of Nezu with his current guests, his beady black eyes quickly looking towards his computer monitor for the briefest of moments before looking back to the person in the opposite chair, "Well, this is an actual surprise."

"What is it, Nezu?" Getafix said from across the dean's desk, sipping some of his tea as he, Nezu, the rather skeletal-like and gout blonde man sitting in a chair beside the druid as they had been conversing about Getafix's upcoming trip back to France, amongst other things.

"Seems your grandson is looking to speak with me and looks quite determined."

"Wasn't he watching Sekijiro's dog today?" Getafix asked as he sipped more of his tea.

"He, Yamada, and Inui just got back onto the campus about twenty minutes ago; regardless, it seems Midoriya doesn't look happy either." Nezu spoke as he pressed a button on his desk as Getafix mumbled an 'oh dear' to himself as the door to the office opened, and as the chimera had said, the large green-haired young man wasn't looking at all happy.

"Dean Nezu, and you're here too, Grandpa, good… kill two birds with one stone."

Ignoring the apparent joke he was about to make, considering the look he was getting from his student as well as his ordinarily astute student had missed the third person in the room, Nezu placed both of his hands in front of him on his desk and was staring up at the teenager, "What can I do for you, Midoriya?"

It took a moment for Izuku to speak, taking a deep and slow breath as if to calm himself down a tad bit, recognizing that he was obviously frustrated in being 'idle', especially having seen how hard his classmates had been putting in training for the upcoming festival. After having a somewhat back and forth between himself and Koro, albeit one-sided, the hefty bulldog merely 'ruffed' in what Izuku thought was an agreement when he told the dog his concerns and possible ways to go about it.

Apparently, Koro wagging his tail was a clear sign that he agreed that Izuku needed to confront Nezu and Getafix.

So, here he was, standing before the dean and staring at him as hard as the smaller creature was doing it back, "Dean Nezu, I request to participate in the sports festival and continue my training."

"Izuku–" Getafix had just about to go on and remind the boy why he couldn't, but the tiny paw of Nezu stopped him as the dean nodded to Midoriya to continue speaking.

"I know why you don't want me to train; I can't function in the world if I grow too strong. I get that, but at the same time, that is the most ridiculous reason to do so! Especially with my dreams and goals! I want to become a hero who not only smiles to let people know that with me around, they are safe, like All Might! But, I also want to be as strong as possible, so I can back that smile up and use it to the fullest of my capabilities." Izuku had started to explain while missing the slight smirk on the skeletal man he had still failed to notice as he continued to speak.

"This would be my first year I can actually participate in the festival, not be someone on the sidelines and cheering for those who have come before me! After doing so for many years, it's getting dull-"

"That's a lie, Midoriya… you and I both know that you enjoy watching everyone and their quirks, especially when it comes to those outside of the hero course, so you can analyze them," Nezu said with a smug tone to his voice which caused Izuku to rub the back of his head and blush a little.

"...That's fair, but the point remains that this is the time for me to come out to the world and show my hard work to get where I am. Even if the Magic Potion allows me to perform these feats of strength and speed, it took years of blood, sweat, and tears to get to where I am. Pushing myself further and beyond, as a student of UA should!

Midoriya's brow furrowed as he continued, "I get giving me time to relax and recuperate from the USJ is important; I know I wear my emotions on my sleeve, but if I didn't do what I did, Thirteen and Aizawa would have been more injured or worse."

Clenching his fists and looking down at the desk, Midoriya took another slow but deep breath, "The festival is to allow pro heroes to watch us advertise ourselves to get possible internships and get a head start on our hero careers, but because I cannot participate, it's like you're trying to hide my existence. I need to do this, Nezu; I must finally come out of the shadows and show the world who I am. The public will know they will be protected and feel safe once I graduate, and that 'I AM HERE'!"

The room was silent after that, Nezu staring hard into the eyes of his prized student, noticing how the blonde man in the chair behind him was staring awestruck at the student while Getafix looked on solemnly but in agreement.

"Well, Mr. Midoriya… I have to say, you make some excellent points, as expected of one of my students." Nezu leaned back in his chair, "But the request is denied."

A sudden rise of his paw quickly made any protest from Midoriya cease, "I do not deny your request based upon the reasons I told you during our last conversation after the USJ. Truth be told, I initially made this call for an entirely different reason."

The dean slowly turned his head towards the third participant in the room, Izuku looking back to finally see the man and grow pale at his blunder, "O-oh no, I didn't notice you; I am so sorry you had to see that."

The skeletal blonde man chuckled lightly, waving his hands slightly at the currently bowing student, "It is alright, my boy, perfectly fine; I admit you're not the first to not see me when I'm sitting in this chair, given my current stature."

"Izuku, this is Toshinori Yagi, a good friend." Nezu spoke as Izuku raised up from his bow to offer the man a handshake, which Tosinori did, making Izuku take notice of the somewhat familiar yellow pin-striped suit he was wearing that looked to be several sizes too big on the relatively thin man, "Mr. Yagi was discussing a few things with your grandfather and me about some currently ongoing issues, some of which pertained to your involvement within the festival."

Izuku looked puzzled as he turned back towards the dean, who had leaned forward in his chair, his paws back on the desk, "And on that matter, I think it's time to reveal the real reason why you cannot participate in the festival as a normal student."

"Midoriya, do you remember who you fought at the USJ?"

Izuku blinked and furrowed his brows as he nodded, "Yea, the peculiar-looking Nomu person, the really pale-skinned disintegration user who looked about my age and that mist villain."

"Correct, and while both the mist villain and the young man have been placed under solitary confinement with around-the-clock guards and quirk suppressors and sedatives in the case of the former, who are now being prepped for Tartarus… the 'Nomu' is a rather disturbing creature."

"Creature?"

"Yes, for it is no longer human." Getafix spoke up as Izuku looked towards him, "While one would assume that it is a heavily mutated person given its appearance, as a druid, I could feel something awful and twisted with the beast when I was watching it being carted away by the police."

"That one villain kept saying how the Nomu was part of his ultimate plan to kill All Might…." Izuku said with his chin in his hand; deep in thought, Nezu continued explaining.

"Indeed, and I wouldn't be surprised with how many quirks it has."

That got Izuku's attention, his eyes going wide, "W-wait? Quirks, as in plural?"

"Indeed," Nezu took a sip of tea, relaxing once again after moving the report to Izuku to look and read, "There was some lab work done on the creature, and they found multiple quirk factors within its body, which was once an average looking man who had a very basic strength enhancing quirk that had gone missing for several months before.

"H-How many?"

"Five to be exact, given what the lab found, plus what Aizawa had stated in his report as during his fight with the Nomu, its master' was shouting about all the ways the beast could counter All Might's power… which I'm sure you already noticed a few on the dossier."

"Yes, the resistance to blunt force damage and super strength. When I had my braces on, every punch I threw at it didn't make it wince, if it could at the very least." Izuku said as his eyes flashed across the various notes. In his mind, he could see how the multiple quirks combined would give All Might difficulty, "But that doesn't explain the five quirks, at 'most' from what I've seen or heard, is someone having two, which is Todoroki, or having a mutation that alters their body to make it seem like more than one, like Shoji and Tsu."

Nezu took a small sip of his tea, his beady eyes looking to one Toshinori Yagi gently nodded silently before the chimera looked back to Izuku, who was now in a 'mutter storm', "What if someone gave the beast its quirks?"

"Give- That's impossible!" Izuku said with no hint of amusement in his voice, "Quirks are hardcoded into someone's DNA; there's nothing that could take a quirk out of someone or give them one."

A heavy sigh caught the teenager's attention as Yagi slowly pushed himself up from his chair, pushing it back somewhat, "I wish that were the case, young Midoriya."

"Izuku, what you're going to learn is something that under NO circumstances is to leave this room; this is a national secret that if word got out, Japan's society would shatter from the truth we are about to show you. Am I clear?" Nezu said with finality to his voice, causing Izuku to barely nod his head, his face a ghastly pale color. Nezu sighed briefly as Getafix got out of his seat to move his chair back and give the skeletal man some more room, "The reason why you are not participating in the festival like your peers is due to one of All Might's most notorious and deadliest of villains, who was the real brains behind the USJ incident and after speaking with the number one, confirmed that it is him."

"If he were to find out about you or how your powers work, he would hunt you down, possibly to turn you to his side, or worse yet, into a creature similar to Nomu."

"T-that's… I've never heard of ANY of All Might's rogues gallery being able to take someone's quirks or stick them into someone else."

"Yes, you would have never heard about it because the last time we tussled, the villain had his head smashed in like a rotten pumpkin." Yagi's speech made Izuku turn around, blinking in confusion.

"Wait, 'we'-"

"Indeed, for I. AM. HERE!" Yagi suddenly shouted, his body inflating like a muscular balloon, the barely hanging suit on the skeletal man's body suddenly filling out with muscles, as the two long strands of blonde hair suddenly rose into the air like a 'V'. Izuku looked on in shock and bewilderment before slowly raising his finger and pointing towards the now-revealed 'Symbol of Peace' and releasing his loudest scream.
