The New Game & Dragon Maid Yuri Crossover
Chapter 14
Shizuku Hazuki oversaw Eagle Jump, but in a loose, sort of informal way. Rin sometimes lectured her on that, too. 'You can bee TOO relaxed, you know?' and that sort of thing. She mostly just ignored it...
"Well, the game design has been chosen?" Rin asked.
"Our head office in France also liked Aoba's concept, though she'll need to work with Ko on refining the various characters," Christina Wako Yamato noted, the slightly shy older woman sitting at the meeting table.
"I'd like to have Aoba also be lead designer on this," Shizuku noted.
"Isn't she a little new for that?" Rin asked.
"Ko was a lead designer at that age," Christine noted.
"And that didn't work out that well," Rin noted mildly.
Ko had had a hard time, being in charge. To put it mildly. One could argue it had set back her development as a manager in the industry...
"Obviously Ko would stay in charge of the art department," Shizuku reassured her, "and she's already mentoring Aoba."
"Ko was a bit annoyed not to get her design chosen," Christina fretted.
While Christine presented the image of the cool, capable career woman, she ACTUALLY had confidence issues. Not to mention feeling the weight of her responsibilities, etc etc. And she felt guilty over business decisions.
"She's a pro," Rin reassured her, "she and Aoba were even working together later to refine the designs."
"Have we got a title yet?" Shizuku wondered.
"They're debating that... Peco was suggested," Christina said.
"Pet Coat, kinda," Rin nodded thoughtfully. "Well, we'll see..."
Shizuku stretched, "Anything else we need to go over? I need more coffee."
"No, it's fine," Rin got up, "excuse me."
Christina waited until Rin left to give Shizuku a thoughtful look. She asked, "Are you still seeing that blonde?"
"Er...," Shizuku blushed.
Christina sighed as she complained, "REALLY, Shizuku? I don't see what you see in her."
Shizuku wanted to say 'Great body and inexhaustible energy.' but didn't. "She's... nice," she protested weakly.

Kobayashi looked at the art and blinked. "Could you do a dragon girl?" she had to ask.
"Eh?" Aoba blinked.
"Tohru is really into dragons," Kobayashi smiled slightly. "Or Kanna, for that matter," she added thoughtfully.
"Huh. You know, we could do a flying level in a dragon mode...," Hajime mused aloud.
"Oh no we're not," Yun jumped in. "Flying animation in games is notoriously hard to do," she added firmly.
"Awww," Aoba sighed.
"Oh, if someone asks you to do a drawing or something, tell them they need to pay a commission," Yun addressed Aoba. "You're a pro, you should get paid."
"Sorry, I hadn't thought of that," Kobayashi quickly said. "Let me know what your rates are," she added warmly.
"Er...," Aoba blinked.
"Anyway, catch you later," Kobayashi waved as she headed back to the programmers area.
"Hello, everyone," Rin then breezed in.
"Morning," Aoba smiled.
"We're working on figuring out the levels," Rin said briskly, "Aoba, we need fairly easy villains to start with, obviously."
"And we probably should include a intro explaining the game," Hifumi added quietly, "we dont want the Super Mario problem."
"Super Mario problem?" Aoba echoed, blinking.
"A LOT of players starting the game never realized the little turtle at the start could kill them," Ko came in, chuckling. "I guess you're too young to have played it?"
"I feel old," Rin sighed.
"You are not," Ko smiled charmingly, and Rin blushed.
Hifumi watched the two, smiling faintly at how cute they could be...
"Hmm?" Aoba looked at her questioningly, and Hifumi blushed.

"That's SO CUTE!" Tohru exclaimed as she looked at Aoba's sketch.
Kanna nodded, also looking it over.
"Aoba's really good," Kobayashu agreed.
"It also looks a bit like Kobayashi as a dragon," Kanna noted mildly.
"We should get her to draw all of us," Tohru declared.
"She IS busy with work," Kobayashi reminded them. "Anyway, what's for dinner?" she changed the subject.
"Roast!" Tohru beamed.
"... it's not your tail, again?" Kobayashi demanded.
"Well...," Tohru pouted.
":No, I will NOT eat your tail," Kobayashi insisted.
Thankfully, Tohru had dragon magic and could whip up something else fast.

"You do Cosplay too?" Hajime blinked, the sporty young woman at a certain shop in Akihabara, the nerd central of Japan.
Hifumi looked embarrassed at being caught, the taller, dark haired woman holding a military style uniform.
"It's cool," Hajime reassured her, "I have several Sentai costumes."
Hifumi relaxed... a little. "I like to buy video game cosplay," she admitted sheepishly.
"The Tokyo Game Show is coming up," Hajime noted as she shopped and asked, "are you going in-character?"
"There's a 'female general' I'm thinking of doing," Hifumi pointed it out.
"That would be SO cool," Hajime agreed. She paused and asked, "Don't you find it embarrassing, doing cosplay?"
"It's... different being seen when I'm in costume," Hifumi admitted.
"Makes sense," Hajime agreed. Curiously she asked, "Has Aoba seen you cosplay yet?"
Hifumi went beet red, "Wh.. wh... why would...?!"
'That is SO cute,' Hajime thought, amused.

After work, Yun found herself busy helping take care of her little sisters.
"I feel sorry for Shouta," one little girl noted.
"That Big Boobed Menace is there all the time!"
"And everyone stares at her too."
"Big Boomed Menace?" Yun HAD to ask.
"Yes," the sister nodded, "she brings his lunch some times. And she was there on Sports Day."
"... and he's actually named Shouta?" Yun confirmed.
The little girls nodded.
"Poor kid," Yun shook her head.

"I'm home," Takiya called as he entered.
"Welcome home," Fafnir said gruffly, the dragon once again in his elegant butler mode. "How was work?" he asked.
"Not bad. Aoba drew me as a dragon," Takiya told him.
"Ehh?" Fafnir blinked, then looked at the drawing. "It is far too cute," he decided.
"Oh?" Takiya asked his roommate.
"There should be bodies and a mound of treasure," Fafnir added seriously.
Takiya just grinned and shook his head. "I'll put dinner on," he said.
To be continued...
Notes: Short chapter, I know. Anyway... I'm MOSTLY not going to use poor Shouta from Dragon Maid. Most of the jokes involving him are, honestly, vaguely icky.
