It's been 2 and a half years since Sayuri joined Akatsuki and soon she would turn 19.
'My birthday, is round the week. I wish Anko and Kurenai was here, we could have gone drinking.'
Sayuri looked at her appearance, she has gone though her puberty and became curvier. Her chests where larger, and her hair grew. She still kept it shoulder length but would curl it sometimes.
When she heard a knock on the door, she quickly put on her mask and opened it.
"Konan-san" Sayuri got surprised seeing her. They became back from a mission only an hour back.
Konan entered her room and asked her, "Your birthday is next week, am I right?"
Sayuri got surprised at that. She did mention to Konan that she would be turning 19 soon, but she didn't think Konan would remember.
"I have noticed you eat more when there are dumplings, that will be our small celebration then."
Sayuri got even more surprised, no one other than her parents and grandparents knew she loved dumplings.
'She must have observed me a lot to know that.' Sayuri nodded, confirming Konan.
Konan gave a nod and left.
'I never knew Konan paid this much attention to me. When did we even become this close.'
But the answer was obvious, members came and went but usually Konan and her where the only females, which naturally made them closer.
Sayuri wouldn't lie but she likes Konan.
'That zetsu manipulated Konan a lot.'
During her time, she killed many people and somehow many of them could be justified.
'It's all for revenge. War kills people and gives birth to hate. The cycle of hate continues, and everyone keeps on killing one other. Peace is never an option, never. Everyone just wants to satisfy their blood thirst.'
Sayuri felt bad for the Akatsuki members in a way, almost everyone had a reason to go rouge.
Sayuri went outside the base and looked at the stars.
'Konoha will come to infiltrate the base soon. Why do I feel bad?' Sayuri thought.
'If only things were different.'
Days later when Akatsuki was celebrating her birthday, she felt sad. Few of the members looked genuinely happy for her yet she would betray them soon.
'Since when did I start feeling bad for them. It's like they are humans but not one thinks that. They are humans who lost their ways in the life and got taken advantage of. Why am I like this?' Sayuri thought.
She could hardly enjoy the birthday.
She hated it, in fact. Soon her cover would be blown, and she would reunite back with her friends, family and loved ones.
Her undercover mission was ending 6 months early. With more difficult Akatsuki tasks, Sayuri was beginning to use her mangekyou sharingan and Susanoo. Whenever any of her partner would find out, she would either wipe away their memory or end up killing them.
'It will all end soon.'
It had been one week and the day and had arrived. She quickly wore her Akatsuki gear with mask and waited patiently for the Konoha ninjas to arrive.
"Intruder alert" Konan said, and she watched everyone get into battle mode.
She saw, Kakashi and Obito arrive within seconds along with Minato.
"This is your end."
"I am impressed that you found us." Pein said.
"It was a very easy hideout" Minato revealed.
Obito and Kakashi went for Kakuzu and Sasori.
Minato went for Pein, while Konan went to attack Minato only to be stopped by Sayuri.
"Tanaka, move" Konan said.
"Sorry Konan-san" Sayuri said and opened her mask.
"Tanaka?" Konan asked.
Sayuri removed her Akatsuki cloak showing her black pants, that went upto her knee and a loose black t-shirt that had Uchiha symbol in the back.
"My name is Sayuri Uchiha" Sayuri said and activated her mangekyou sharingan.
"Traitor." All the Akatsuki members said at the same time.
Sayuri didn't like that word, but she knew they were not lying.
"This all makes sense" Konan concluded.
Sayuri's team partner would often return without memories of the battle or dead in case the mission was difficult.
'She used her mangekyou sharingan's abilities for such missions and the partner would understand that she is an Uchiha and not Tanaka, so she wiped their memories or killed them.'
It also explained Sayuri's overall personality. She had her presence, but she was quiet and didn't like to mingle with the other members much, other than Konan.
Konan assumed that it was because she felt comfortable with her since they were the only females, but it turned out she had hidden agenda.
Konan and Sayuri soon began fighting and Sayuri unlocked her Susanoo effectively making Konan's attack useless.
She used the magenta pink skeletal hands to drag her around the cave.
When Konan tried to get up, but she saw another boy with sharingan, who put her under genjutsu.
Konan closed her eyes trying to fight the genjutsu not know she was put under it by Shisui Uchiha, one of the strongest genjutsu user out there. (A/N: Assume Shisui is 3 years younger than Obito and Sayuri, so that makes him 16 now.)
"Hime-sama, she is down." Shisui informed Sayuri.
Sayuri nodded and watched Minato, Obito and Kakashi fight Sasori, Kakuzu and Pein.
"We need to be careful." Sayuri said watching them fight.
"Hime-sama?" Shisui asked.
"Kakazu's life forms are based on the masks. They are his life forms. We need to kill him 5 times. Obito will not be enough. Sasori hides with the dolls and Pein has 6 path. We need more re-enforcements." Sayuri thought.
"Obito-kun, take Konan into your dimension along with Kakuzu. Bring me along with you." Sayuri shouted.
Obito nodded and immediately did the same. She had always been a strategist, so she might have planned something.
"Where am I?" Kakuzu asked, finding himself in a weird dimension and seeing Konan lying down.
Obito and Sayuri soon appeared in front of him.
"You fool, let me go." Kakuzu went charging towards them.
Blood trickled down from Sayuri's eyes as she said, "Moeru."
Blue flame surrounded Kakuzu and he started screaming out.
"Damn you woman to hell." Kakuzu figured out that Sayuri would know his weakness since she worked with him.
Obito and Sayuri watched Kakuzu burn to his death.
"Hime-chan." Obito said looked at Sayuri. Sayuri nodded and both left the dimension along with Kakuzu's dead body.
Once they arrived, they saw Sasori dead and Obito threw Kakuzu's dead body on the ground near him.
"My taijutsu with Uchiha's genjutsu did the trick." Kakashi informed.
"Sensei." Kakashi called out to Minato, seeing him injured.
"We have not seen his full power yet." Sayuri informed.
"Shall we retreat?" Kakashi asked.
"Are re-enforcements comings?"
Obito nodded.
"You are fighting, Pein's Naraka Path or Hell Realm. If all six unite, we will be dead." Sayuri informed.
Minato smirked hearing the words, "If I am going to hell, I am taking him with me" and used rasengan on Pein's Naraka path's heart effectively killing him.
Shisui spoke up, "I saw the base, no one is here."
"Let's go." Minato confirmed and everyone left.
'Come back home, hime-chan.'
What felt like ages, Sayuri felt relief after finally returning home and lying down in her bed.
Shika had personally cooked her favourite food and Shuichi personally went to the grocery to make sure he gets the best ingredients for his daughter.
After lying down for 5mins, she got up and went to the living room.
Shika and Shuichi were speaking softly, talking about her and how much they missed her.
"Mom, Dad." Sayuri said.
"Hi sweety." Shika said.
Sayuri sat down next to them and enjoyed some time together.
After an hour Sayuri left the house to meet up with her friends.
She roamed the streets for the first time and saw how many shops came or her the old shops that got an upgrade.
"Yo Sayuri."
Sayuri turned around to see Kakashi and Obito. For the first time, she observed them well and noticed that they got slightly taller, both being over 180 cm tall.
"When did you guys have a height increase?" Sayuri asked.
"Hehe, someone is jealous with her elementary school height. I am 181 cm, while Obito is 182 cm." Kakashi said sheepishly.
Sayuri narrowed her eyes, "Lucky bastards."
Sayuri was considerably shorter than them with her 152cm height.
Obito noticed that she also went through puberty and got a much more curvaceous figure.
Even though she was wearing a lose t-shirt and shorts he could make out she was busty. (A/N: Reminder that they are 19 now)
Obito blushed.
Kakashi who sensed a tension between them, decided to move slowly away.
'Where did bakashi go?' Obito thought feeling awkward.
"Um, hime-chan, shall we hang out?" Obito asked.
Sayuri nodded and blushed, 'Do not think this is a date.'
"Dango?" Obito asked.
"Okay"
Obito bought 2 sticks of dango and the two started walking around the fare.
"When did the fare start?" Sayuri asked.
"About a month back, it's really busy always." Obito replied.
Sayuri looked around and saw a stall selling hair clips. Obito looked at her watching the hair clips and said gently, "Do you want to buy anything hime-chan?"
"No" Sayuri replied, she didn't have any money with her.
Obito observed her for a moment, not sure if she truly wanted anything or not.
Obito smiled realizing that Sayuri was avoiding looking at the stall.
"Hime-chan?"
"Yes."
"Your birthday happened few days back. Let me get you a present." Obito said, knowing if he directly told her she could buy it, she would reject it.
"You sure?"
"Yes" Obito replied.
Sayuri and Obito went to the stall and Sayuri noticed multiple hair clips that she liked. She took a few and made a mental note of the amount.
'I shouldn't spend much of it anyway.'
She decided to take 3 hairclips that where moderately priced for the products and Obito paid for them.
"Shall we go to the mirror house?" Sayuri asked, seeing the house beside the stall.
"Sure, never been there." Obito replied.
Sayuri and Obito went inside the house, everyone was allocated only 5 mins since it was one of the most popular attractions there.
When seeing reflection, Sayuri realized how tiny she looked next to Obito, who was 30 cm taller than her.
She looked around the mirrors and each gave different shapes and sizes of their reflection.
"This looks so unique."
Obito smiled, he didn't care about the reflections, all he cared about was Sayuri and seeing her smile.
'It's now or never.'
"Hime-chan, shall we go star gazing? At your favourite place?" Obito asked.
"I would love to."
Obito and Sayuri left and fare and went to the Hokage statue.
She sat down on her great grandfather's statue and looked at the stars.
"I missed this, looking at the stars peacefully." Sayuri confessed.
"I want to tell you something." Obito said gathering his courage.
"Go on."
"I am in love with someone."
Obito observed Sayuri's features and noticed that she had a neutral expression.
Even though her face seemed calm, Sayuri's mind was racing, 'He is probably dating someone now. Is it Anko? No, she would not date him knowing I like him. Maybe someone else, but I should not be worried. Just because I like him that doesn't mean he has to like me.'
"Tell me more about her." Sayuri was proud of herself for telling those words in the calmest way possible.
"She is very pretty" Obito said looking at her, "She is one of the most beautiful people I have ever seen. She looks like a doll almost especially when she blushes or giggles or tries to hide her laugh."
'Who ever she is, she must be very beautiful.'
"But I like her personality more." Obito said looking at her, "She may appear quiet and shy but, she is very fierce. She is one of the bravest women out there and I respect her for it. She inspires me to be stronger. Beside she was there with me during my darkest days."
'I wonder what happened, when I was away.' Sayuri thought.
"She has brought me out of my shell somehow. She knew what to say and when to say it. But she is kind to everyone, she wants the best for everyone. I wish I could protect her, but I know she can do it herself. She is very strong and fought many powerful shinobis. Do you know her success rate is almost 100%? She only failed 1 mission in her life."
'She must be a fine kunoichi.' Sayuri thought.
"I want to meet her." Sayuri said, keeping her calm while watching at the skies.
"Oh, you know her. I mean I liked her since I was 16, before you left for your secret mission." Obito replied.
Sayuri got surprised at that, "Who is she?" Sayuri tried to recall all the girls Obito talked to.
'Maybe she is a junior Uchiha or someone else that I do not know about. Maybe she is an ANBU member.'
"Who is it from ANBU?" Sayuri asked.
"She is not a part of ANBU." Obito replied.
Sayuri put a hand on her chin and asked, "Who is she?"
"You have seen her multiple times."
"Is she from another village?" Sayuri asked.
"Maybe?" Obito replied.
"Let me think." Sayuri said trying to recall all the faces only for Obito to laugh out loud.
"What?"
"I have a picture of her, if it helps." Obito showed her the picture.
She got puzzled seeing the picture.
When team 10 and team 7, used to go on missions together, they had once taken a picture on Rin's birthday.
She saw Shikaku, Minato behind, Asuma, Obito and Kakashi, where standing in front of them, while she, Kurenai and Rin, where sitting on the floor.
'But Rin is dead, that means?' Sayuri's eyes widened.
She turned at Obito and again to the picture and again towards Obito, looked straight in his eyes and said, "You like Kurenai?"
Obito face palmed himself as he listened to Sayuri rant, "You dummy, Kurenai is dating Asuma. Do you know that?"
"It's not Kurenai." Obito said, looking at her.
She looked at the picture again, 'If it's not Kurenai and Rin's dead, that means.'
"Did you somehow bring back Rin to life and not tell me?" Sayuri asked.
This time Obito face palmed himself with both his hands.
"It's you, hime-chan." Obito confessed.
"Me?" Sayuri asked and realization hit her.
"Me?" She pointed at herself.
"Yes, hime-chan, it's you."
"Why?" Sayuri blurred out and then went, "Is it because I confessed to you before leaving. Do not think much about that."
"I started liking you before you left." Obito said and grabbed her hands.
"But."
"No buts. I was afraid to confess to you because I thought you might not like me. I wanted to confess but I was afraid that I would lose our friendship. When you confessed before leaving, I regretted not telling you earlier. Had I told you, maybe you would have stay back or at least, we could have dated from then."
Sayuri looked up at Obito who was blushing.
"If you still feel for me, would you do me the honour and make me your boyfriend."
Sayuri continued to look at Obito and smiled.
It was all the confirmation that Obito needed, and he smiled back.
